A privately operated pier rebuilt along the old bridge, open late with bait and tackle. Newport News Parks notes it as one of the region’s longest; locals come for croaker, spot, trout, and sunsets.

Drove 4 hours to this beautiful place. Didn't catch anything during my 24 hr fishing trip. The fish wasn't biting. This place is a place just to get a peaceful mind. I will be coming back again and again.

The price is great it's only $11 and that covers you to fish. The only issue is it's a fishing peir so it's very over pressured making it not very likely you will catch anything more than a spot or ray. But you can for sure catch some bigger fish especially when it's not very packed.my friend and I recently went and he caught a huge ribbon fiah and a beautiful drum.

It was a beautiful pier. I loved that it was open 24 hours. It is free to walk out with a meal at the Crab Shack. They have delicious food. Or you can walk out for $11 adults and $8 Seniors.

My favorite place to just relax with your fishing rod...

We drove from Richmond on a Wednesday. I do have handicapped plates and we parked on the café side only to unload our fishing gear. Had someone complain about me parking on that side...I saw the sign but it was closer to the pier. I was already moving my car. Ok...get to the window to pay...rudest attendant ever. You really need someone else in there. Super disappointed. Got rained on and was going to eat at restaurant but was told the deck was closed because of rain. I would have froze in there. Oh well maybe next time will be better.

Atmosphere and food was wonderful. Our waitress, Makayla, was the best. Will ask for her every time I go. Oh yeah . The drinks were STRONG. Just realized this was for the per but just in case you wanna pop in for food....

This is a great place to spend the day fishing. The pier is clean and has plenty of room for fishing. The pier offers beautiful views of the James Rivers and some great fishing opportunities for catching a variety of fish including croakers and spots. There is a small fee to get onto the pier but your fishing license is included for the day. There is also bait for sale and a resturant when entering the pier. Be sure to park on the left side of the parking lot if you are fishing , the right side is for the restaurant.

Very beautiful views. We stayed mostly a cross the street at the park because the Pier does not allow pets. We had our dog with us. But we did talk to a nice man about the area and the Pier. We will go back to visit without Poochie.
