15 Places to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Eve in Los Angeles | Eater

"Near Venice Beach and the Santa Monica Pier, Jameson’s Pub has all the Irish whiskey you could wish for, plus Irish nachos — thick-cut fries smothered with queso and all the fixings. They also specialize in prime rib, offering sliders, Reubens, and their take on a French dip. With eighteen specialty Jameson cocktails on the menu, you can’t go wrong: but we recommend the Irish gimlet with its natural hint of green from fresh mint and lime, or the Red Headed Stepchild, made with Jameson, habanero lime syrup, club soda, and splash of pineapple juice." - Vox Creative

We arrived at 4:30pm on New Year's Eve. The place was packed to the gills. It was a find your own seating place, yet there was standing room only. Eventually we found a table that worked for us. We went to watch a rival team play football. The crowd was rambunctious and lively! The food was also delicious and arrived VERY quickly considering the size of the crowd, within 10 minutes. My friend said the fish tacos were fine. I really enjoyed the Portobello Mushroom sandwich which included roasted veggies and a pesto sauce on sourdough bread. Yummy yummy! It had a bit of a sweet flavor to it that I was not expecting.

Jameson’s Pub is a solid spot that knows how to do comfort food and a good time—but what really stole the show was their Wednesday all-you-can-eat prime rib special. Every Wednesday, Jameson’s turns into prime-rib heaven. For a set price, they serve up plate after plate of juicy, tender prime rib with au jus and horseradish. It hits that perfect combo of hearty, flavorful, and just the right kind of indulgent midweek treat. I lost count after three helpings—and had zero regrets. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a laid-back pub vibe that’s great for catching up with friends. The staff were friendly, attentive, and refilled my sides and drinks with no fuss. Why not five stars? Well, the Wednesday crowd can get pretty packed, so it wasn’t technically peaceful. And while the prime rib was fantastic, some of the sides (potatoes, veggies) were solid but hardly showstoppers. Overall, Jameson’s Wednesday prime rib special is exactly what midweek comfort-food dreams are made of. Great food, great vibe, and an excuse to say “yes” to seconds (or thirds). I’ll definitely be back next Wednesday.

Google
Really solid sports bar. This location's been around for a long time. I'm a fan because they don't charge cover fee for the UFC fights. It's been a while since I've actually tried to watch UFC fights at bars, so I'm not sure if any of them cover anymore, but it was pretty awesome that they didn't. Other than that, the space is pretty huge and it could get really crowded really fast. It's in a high traffic area. The beers and drinks themselves are pretty standard. I would say at sports bar and I don't mean that as a bad thing. With crowded bars, I usually get worried about getting served, but the folks here are pretty solid and on top of it.

Went here on a whim, got some great food quickly. Was a little hard to flag down a bartender. All the food was great! They even had live music, which was great for the atmosphere. Irish nachos were the best part we both love them so much we fished them before we ate out main dinner. I would definitely stop out here again.

Google
I always enjoy a good Irish pub and Jameson's is awesome! The food is great and their Guinness is delicious. Plus they pour it right which is always important but especially for an Irish pub. This is a great place to drop in if you want a quick drink but it's very easy to stick around and stay longer

Google
A thoroughly European‑feeling refuge for beer and sport, this house draws a distinctly polished crowd: tailored jackets, crisp shirts, and the low murmur of considered commentary between fixtures. The tap list is **superb**, with continental classics, finely kept lagers, and a rotating cast of thoughtful imports, while discreetly placed screens and in‑house sports betting create the sense of a refined private club rather than a rowdy book. Regular karaoke nights add a delightfully decadent twist—more champagne lounge than dive bar—where even the most reserved patrons eventually find themselves cheering on a familiar face at the microphone.

Google
Loved our food, service was great, prices were fair. Our server Corinne was attentive, sweet, and on the ball. It was our first time eating here, and we would return for sure. Rare these days to get great food with good service that doesn't break the bank. Highly recommend Jamesons.

Very busy football game day. After game evening entertainment was great! Had fun.

Yelp
Jamieson is everything you want in a neighborhood pub! It's rustic, cozy and vibrant. With a versatile menu with daily specials to excellent happy hour drink specials, this is the old reliable! You can go anytime of the day and find yourself a spot inside or outside. Great place to watch sports, and even join in for a live band. Make sure to have your ID with you. The staff are wonderful and efficient - highly recommended!

Yelp
No brainer sports bar to go in Santa Monica/ Venice area. We came here on a Monday night, it's easier to get a drink. Service is never magnificent here but it's a decent spot to hang out with friends and have conversations over happy hours BOGO drinks. I got an Irish coffee mocktail (basically coffee), and it's not bad. I was surprised it's better than the coffee at Starbucks with a cheaper price. My friend got a cider it's nice when you come here during happy hours, the drinks are buy 1 get 1 free! Ambience is decent Irish bar vibe, sometimes they have karaoke nights where it gets super loud. Weekends are crowded too. Casual spot that you could show up in jeans and hoodies.

Yelp
I like the way it's laid out and the live music is really cool. Can get too packed though.

Yelp
I love me a good Irish bar. Especially one that I can comfortably watch the Celtics play in LA at. ;) Coming from Boston, there's no happy hour here so I was pleasantly surprised that there was a buy one get one happy hour special going on when we sat. We ordered a dirty Shirley, angry orchard, and Michelob ultra amongst the 3 of us and got 6 drinks to the table at once. Obvi it's a little excessive lol but it was such a vibe. Highly recommend the pretzel with cheese. So good. Also the Irish nachos over fries were yummy too. We also got the peanut butter shots - a must try here.
google avatar

Shelbie P.

Yelp
We came here twice in one day. Once before the beach, and then after the beach for happy hour drinks. The place is perfect because it's so close to the beach and has a great vibe. Our service both visits was amazing and the food hit the spot!

Yelp
Fun Irish Pub! Nice place to hangout with friends and go for drinks. They also have delicious pub food as well, I highly recommend trying their Peanut Butter Shots and Shepards Pie. They also have good drink deals and live music, and karaoke on certain days. Good vibes!

Yelp
Very rude stuff. The the bar was very nice though very pleasant good drinks. The security guards have an attitude for no reason. Don't think I'll be coming back.

Yelp
Fun Irish pub on a busy Main street, love the happy hour. It's buy one get one free. The inside is nice and they have an outside patio as well. We did not try the food this time, but a lot of people were eating.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been coming to this Irish pub since it was called Finn McCools. Not exactly sure when the name changed but everything else including the drinks, food and vibes have stayed the same. Jameson's pub offers drinks and food at a reasonable price. This location has been my go to during the Summers while bar hopping. Since my main restaurant in the area has been closed down, Jameson's has taken over as my go to location on Main st. I do avoid sports nights as the place can get pretty crazy packed. The most recent visit was during the Men's USA basketball final game. There was no where to sit or even walk through. There were loud cheers heard from several stores down. Tons of people were gathered and they even have a couple of bouncers just to make sure things aren't too crazy. Since Jameson's is a first come first served seating situation, it can become tricky to find a table on popular nights. Parking: metered parking lot. metered street parking, free parking in the neighborhood (if you are willing to walk) VERDICT: Rinse and repeat

Yelp
I've posted before, love that they have zero Guinness. I was there tonight for their happy hour, too many drinks later (not driving), I left my wallet and phone on the table...went back and they had it behind the bar. Can't say enough good things about my local pub, great staff, great food and great music.
google avatar

Angela D.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. I had the bbq chicken sandwich and it was very filling. Husbands had tacos and he enjoyed them: especially for a non-Mexican place. Drinks and service were good and atmosphere was nice with plenty of seating at tables, bar, and outside. We parked behind the building.

Yelp
I liked the taste of food and alcohole but the cocktail was same price as the food, I don't think that this cocktail worth it. But I like the ambience and my little delicious Shepard pie

Yelp
I love my Jameson family Great staff Best food Best drinks! The best vibes The music is amazing! Never a dull moment!

Yelp
Not a usual fan of Jameson but tried a few of their Jameson cocktails and they were amazing!! They also have really great comfort foods for good prices and a fun ambiance!!

Yelp
Visiting from Houston - this place is ALWAYS packed - and i see why! We stopped in for brunch / lunch - decided on the lunch menu. Bloody Mary was just spicy enough. The Mango Cart on draft had a nice citrus taste. Steak fries...how can you go wrong! We both LOVED our sandwich selections - but could easily have split one - the portions are very generous! The staff were super nice and attentive. Definitely stopping by again during my next trip.

Yelp
Loved this place. I went on Sunday and took someone who is a Celtics fan. The vibe was fun, and food was surprisingly good. We ordered sliders, fried chicken, fries, and coleslaw. We don't really frequent pubs so it was cool to actually get handed 2 drinks when ordered one. I really enjoyed the vibe. After we went I was checking their IG and saw a Wednesday all you can eat Prime Rib meal. Well, we decided it to check it out. And honestly the meal was so good, better than some $60 dollar steaks I've had. Had some wine. And I ordered a second steak and believed there would be some catch to the all you can eat --but no, we got a second plate. Game was on, in big TV waitress was super nice and fast. We also had fun playing shuffle board. For sure I will back. Keep it up!
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
Not much for the price for corned beef plate but other places do not offer it at all. My neighbor had more meat and when I ordered to go as well and asked to have enough meat they just charged me extra $10 for more meat. Also on St Patrick's day they did not air in the bar no U2 nor Cranberries! What a shame! Not going back there.

Yelp
We visited an this pub and had steaks with drinks -- everything was great. The waitresses were very pleasant, the atmosphere inside was cozy, and the live music made the evening even better. A perfect spot to spend time with friends

Yelp
Fun pub on Santa Monica! Parking is on the street or in public lots. Loud, fun bar with sports and a shuffleboard. Came on a Wednesday for $17 AYCE prime rib dinner. Get it rare since medium rare is too well done lol Happy hour 3-7 and 10:30-12am for 2 for 1 drinks. Drinks have to be the same or u can get double shots. Highlight of the night: PB Jameson shots!

Matthew G.

Yelp
This bartender is the most rude I have ever encountered, why on earth is this man representing your business is beyond me, the most crazy experience I have ever had in a bar ever. I was genuinely shocked by his behaviour. I've worked in hospitality and if I did this I would be fired.
google avatar

Brooke B.

Yelp
Great place for sporting events! We were able to watch the UFC fight comfortably in a fun environment with good food. The Cesar salad and chicken was very good.

Yelp
This seems like a fun place to hangout with friends, even if it's a random weekday night as they have different specials and events depending on the day. The servers are very nice, too. The inside was definitely very crowded and loud, and it was hard to hear each other while dining inside. I think because of the noise level, a lot of our order came incorrect; however, the staff did end up comping some of the meal to make up for it, which we appreciated. The food was good and not expensive at all compared to other restaurants in the area. I ordered the chicken/apple/brie sandwich, which was tasty and less than $14 for a decently sized sandwich. The portobello fries were also good and crispy, and came with a couple dips. You do have to self-serve water, though, which can be a little annoying (especially when it's crowded). All in all, I would definitely return with friends one day for a chill hangout at night.

Torie F.

Yelp
Fries had an extremely long hair wrapped around it. Manager came out, greeted "good morning", it was 9:30pm, I explained my situation as a patron, and he looked at me like my hair wrapped around the fries. My hair was up in a bun. They took the fries off and acted as if they did me a favor. Been here in the past, but TONIGHT, I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. MAYBE, OUT SPENDING MONEY WHILE BLACK IS WORTHLESS, BUT IF WE STALL OUR MONEY....THEY WILL LEARN. Those of you who are not feeling g this post becuz you are of a DIFFERENT mindset, keep your thoughts to yourself, I less you are willing to meet in person. If you DON'T KNOW...THEN YOU DON'T KNOW, SO, SHUT UP!!!!
google avatar

Mandi T.

Yelp
So good. Seriously..so good. It's an appetizer/shareable but one hungry person could probably handle it. Because it's so good.
google avatar

Andrea G.

Yelp
I was here for work, flight was delayed and I was hungry and wanted a cocktail. The concierge at the hotel told me to come to this bar/pub. It was midnight, kitchen was closed and the staff, especially the short dark haired bartender was so very nonchalant and seemed disgusted to talk to myself or my colleagues. He didn't seem happy at all or was/is going through something and you can just see it in his demeanor that he does not want to be there. I was here July 31st at 12:35am with 3 of my colleagues. NEVER AGAIN.

Malik R.

Yelp
Reed and Euros, at the door issued nothing but respect and love for there job and community Im very Greatful I got to spend my birthday at my home bar with amazing management Keep this energy coming

Lucinda L.

Yelp
LIZA was amazing! She deserves a raise! Wow she was so amazing and was so incredible at making sure we were okay the whole day for Super Bowl Sunday. Great bar and great price for drinks!! She was so accommodating to the guests the whole time! 100% coming back!

Jacob C.

Yelp
Jamesons is my favorite place to come for college football Saturdays especially because of our server Liza. She's the reason we keep coming back! She makes the atmosphere feel like home and makes every experience special.
google avatar

Aleks L.

Yelp
We, and the entire patio were completely ignored. People had to keep going in and finding the server, the other tables would literally ask the server for something, and she would walk away. There was almost nobody in the actual restaurant- being that quiet and getting poor service has zero excuses.
google avatar

Braden K.

Yelp
Food was nice, service was solid, ambiance was good. It's changed a bit since it's pre-covid days, still a fun spot.
google avatar

Sunwoo L.

Yelp
had a great time at jameson's on st patty's day! it was super lively and the drink specials were delicious! It got filled very quickly and I wish they had a larger patio ..
google avatar

Kamron H.

Yelp
Even though I miss the old Finn McKool's name, Jameson's has maintained its charm. This place is fun to hang anytime--karaoke, watching the game, brunch, or even a Friday night. Not to mention they have a decent happy hour and late night happy hour
google avatar

Eli C.

Yelp
Wowie, this place definitely gave me a beautiful core memory. Went here on a random week night with my dad to wait for my sibling to get out of work to stop by for "one" drink. We quickly decided to stay here for food, entertainment and especially the happy hour drinks. When they say two for one, they give you TWO. Many of which included maraschino cherries which I love! Had multiple friendly servers and bussers greet us! Had the awesome mac&cheese and fries. Perfect ambience and cool vibes, and a live music artist started performing! When my sibling came by they let them sing on the open mic! We met and talked to so many cool people. Drank so much I had to sleep at my sibling's place hahaha. One downside is that if it's cold outside, it's cold inside. They have a heat lamp outside, yet I could barely feel it. Bring a winter jacket and you're golden! Hope to come here again!!
google avatar

Suzette S.

Yelp
Recommended by a local! Enjoyed watching football! Good eats and drinks!! Server was friendly! Place was packed for the game! Had to wait awhile for our salad but the salad was amazing!! Meter parking lot around the corner from pub a short walk to pub!
google avatar

Katherine C.

Yelp
I'll give two stars for fun ambience- it's always lively and a great vibe here. They also have a spacious covered patio. However, their "everyday" happy hour is a bit of a scam- the number of excluded days must be half the year. We tried coming on Labor Day weekend- no happy hour due to it being a holiday. Then we came on a random (we thought) Saturday- again no happy hour because it was a "game day". Don't sports games happen Sat/Sun a majority of the year?! Anyway, we won't be back a third time... with our luck it will be groundhogs day...
google avatar

Gareth B.

Yelp
I ordered something small - the prime rib chili basket and it was delicious. I wish I could pay a little more money for a bigger serving but was still happy with it. My friend got the prime rib entree with extra meat and he said he wouldn't get it again. It was overcooked and didn't seem like actually prime rib. I forgot to take a pic, but tend to agree that it was overcooked for typical prime rib.
google avatar

Andre B.

Yelp
Honestly I a prices good atmosphere. I love coming here when it isn't t too crazy and crowded.
google avatar

Autumn L.

Yelp
Gave three starts because it's really not my cup of tea. Too loud, too crowded, etc. my main issue is that I asked for a beer - an ipa, and I was automatically given the largest size. Total money grab imo. Good if you're early to mid twenties and love to drink!
google avatar

Warren W.

Yelp
do not go to jammeson's pub in santa monicafor their so-called "all you can eat prime-rib lunch" each wednesdayaftrnoon: why?: 1. it's not prime rib that they serve; it's simply anover-cooked(well-done tough and grisly steak that i could barely manage to cut through bearing down hard with my steak kife and a fork. real prime rib should be oozing juice, and served rare to medium-rare,their's didn't and wasn't 2. realprime rib should be slow- roasted and should never be grilled with obvious grill marks showing on both sides of the meat slice. 3 the mashed potaroes were pasty and not served hot. the manager was rude and outright refused to listen to my opiion on his "prime rib lunch. stay away! at all costs

Yelp
This place unfortunately has become one of the most disrespectful, unorganized locations to be at after volleyball. Our organization club Waka has been coming here for along time. We came here today again and the people at the front door were rude and very very disrespectful. They kicked us out because one person didn't have a physical id and allowed us to sit outside. Right after he allowed 4 people in that didn't show an ID. He would even allow a paying customer to use the I door bathroom that just shows what kind of people they hire and how low this place has become. We bring tons of business to this location sadly we will be changing our drinking after volleyball to a different location. This is a 300+ club that goes there after. One of the worst experiences ever. Never again. Who in the right mind hires people that dress unprofessional and are so disrespectful.

Yelp
# Jamison Bar Review: A Disappointing and Disrespectful Experience ## The Experience I'm a regular at this neighborhood restaurant and bar, typically visiting once or twice a month for a burger and beer. This time, I planned a special gathering for 25-30 people to celebrate a book publication, hoping to take advantage of their all-you-can-eat prime rib special. Upon arrival, the Jamison Bar was nearly empty with only five patrons present. The first red flag was that no one seemed to be ordering the prime rib special. I was seated by a lone waitress, with the bartender coming from the back of the restaurant. ### The Meal I ordered the prime rib, requesting it medium rare. What arrived was far from my expectation: - First serving: A thin slice of prime rib, cooked well done instead of medium rare - Second attempt: I asked the bartender for a rare cut, which came out medium well Beyond the cooking temperature, the meat was: - Tough - Stringy - Appeared old ### Terrible Service The bartender's response was equally disappointing. When I mentioned the meat's poor quality, he merely glanced at me and continued with his task, offering no acknowledgment or assistance. Feeling frustrated, I decided to pay in cash to expedite my departure. ## Follow-up Interaction Later that day, I called the manager to discuss my experience. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, I was met with: - Verbal attacks - Mockery (repeating my statements in a demeaning manner) - An aggressive attitude reminiscent of stereotypical confrontational bar interactions The manager's unprofessional response was shocking. When I mentioned not returning, he flippantly said, "That's fine," and bizarrely suggested I ask for him if I ever return - a suggestion that made no sense given the terrible experience. ## Overall Impression In all my years of dining in this area, this is the first truly bad experience I've had at this establishment. The combination of poorly prepared food and hostile customer service is unacceptable. **Pros:** - None apparent from this visit **Cons:** - Overcooked, low-quality prime rib - Indifferent and unprofessional staff - Hostile management response **Final Thoughts:** I will be sharing my experience with my network of approximately 1,500 people in the area to ensure others are aware of this unacceptable dining experience. **Recommendation:** Significant improvements needed in food preparation, staff training, and customer service approach.

Yelp

Yelp
I really love this spot! But don't even think to get a cocktail when they're busy! I got the worst margarita ever in my life! I asked the server if I could get a little bit agave or simple syrup and she said they don't have it! I'm sorry to give 3 stars to this spot but they deserve this so far!

Yelp
Love it man, nice warm energy here. I come for Karaoke Wednesdays and I have yet to be disappointed!

Robert E.

Yelp
good time during game tonight, good amount of people and amazing vibe. food and drinks good price and i will be back again

April H.

Yelp
My friends and I went on karaoke night and it was so fun. The musicians and people singing were so talented and it was a great vibe. I just felt the need to come on here and say that one of the bartenders was a little rude to us. We went up to get 2 glasses of beer and we were waiting for about 20 minutes so when I got his attention I asked for 2 beers and he responded with "can't you see I have all of these people to serve?" Very snappy and I didn't realize that the other side of the bar was more of a priority than me and my friends.

Yelp
I'm starting first with Christina. She's an amazing server. I have to put my mom's cat tomorrow, and she could tell I was super sad about it and gave me a hug. Super sweet. Anyways, odered a burger with fries. Supper yummy and the burger was just how I like it. I eat fries often, and these were delicious! Music wasn't too loud and that was helpful. Oh, they have a 2 for 1 happy hour. I'll be back on Mondays since her service was amazing.

Zanther S.

Yelp
Rude bouncer. It's disappointing to still see this old-school type of doorman with a weird power complex. It's off-putting and unnecessary. A girl in our group accidentally brought her expired ID which he rightfully rejected. Though, he then didn't let anyone else in the group in due to that. This was a group of graduate students who arrived sober and not rambunctious or anything. I'm over 30 and look it and was 100% sober and remained respectful always and had two forms of government ID. Absolutely no reason, a customer should be prevented from patronizing a business due to someone who was legitimately of over 21 forgetting her new ID in another purse. I politely said I wasn't trying to be rude, but would there be a way to speak to a manager or a supervisor. He initially blew me off, then eventually said to just wait until manager came by. I stood there for 15-20 minutes and checked in again finally and he said the manager has been in and out already (yet he never told me and or mentioned it to him). At this point, I decided to leave. Also, while waiting, the initial girl with the expired ID got into a conversation with another girl who had just exited there. Apparently, that second girl wasn't even 21. So, they let an underage girl in (and she did drink), but they rejected the 30+ year old guy. Goes to show that this old-school method of treating members of your community doesn't work. This falls on both the doorman and also on the manager for either not knowing what's going on or knowing but permitting it.
