The Best Ice Cream in Boston | Eater Boston

"This Brookline shop started as a pandemic pivot for owner Jamie Siracusa, who used the slowed-down time to start making ice cream in her kitchen at Brothers & Sisters Co. Now she’s selling her scratch-made scoops in two locations (a second shop opened in Cambridge in late 2024). The shops served hand-churned flavors like Banana Pudding, Milky Chocolate, and Dump Him, made with salted vanilla with cookie dough, M&M’s, Oreos, brownies, and toffee sauce." - Tanya Edwards

Wow, so impressed that such a small shop without even indoor sitting or enough outdoor sitting could be so popular! A little opening hours (kind of random) but the line was there and had to wait for our ice cream for little bit. But it was worth the wait and the money!!! Tried the milk dunked cookie and pistacchio. Oh they were good. Want to go again to try other flavors. Had that fresh milky aroma/taste to the ice cream. Also I could chew the pischaccio. Gave 4/5 just to be fair on the service and atmosphere part (not much of an 'atmosphere' cuz you are on the streets) but ice cream was really good! 👍👍

This was an amazing experience. Not only was the ice cream delectable, but the service was amazing as well. The servers really cared and ended up suggesting my new favorite flavor, banana pudding. I will most definitely be coming back!

Yummy ice cream, expensive, tiny portion…. The ice cream tastes good with fun flavors but expect to not get your money's worth portion-wise at all. My family was served “two scoops” where each of our scoops probably could only count as a 1/3 regular scoop. If I worked there, I’d be embarrassed to serve portion sizes like that, especially with the prices. It looked like each “scoop” was scraped from the bottom of the barrel and could be eaten with one bite.

Ice cream here is fine but nothing special. The lemon poppy loaf is quite dense, especially with the chunks of loaf, so it almost feels like you're eating the bread itself. Flavor is decent. Pistachio is okay but the ice cream base is not as flavorful as I would like. The oat milk latte flavor is on the bitter side and I really like that one. Banana pudding is good, the flavor is not particularly strong, but I could throw it out the wafer. London fog was actually very good and the bergamot shone through. The texture of all the flavors was very creamy, but I'd say what it's lacking on is the intensity of the flavor. The baby scoop is only a little small to a single but almost half the price so get that.

Ice cream itself is good, but the service kinda sucks. There’s always a long wait regardless of how busy it is, and the scoop sizing is very inconsistent (based off multiple visits here). Today while waiting, my husband said he saw half of someone’s scoop fall onto the floor and then the teen working just give it to the customer as is… It would probably be better to just buy a pint from next door.

This place has so much more than ice cream. We stopped in for breakfast on a recent trip to Boston. The place is so cute and cozy, the food was delicious and a great selection of teas and coffees. There were 3 of us and we tried the cinnamon bun, scone and croissant sandwich along with tea and lattes. We met the owner as well and her story was so interesting. Every detail about the design of the place had thought out meaning. My only complaint was that we were there too early to eat ice cream, but I will be back because so many flavors caught my eye.

I come at 7:30 and waited 30 minutes in a line of max 10 people in front of us and got the window closed in our face. Why wouldn’t you have someone come out and tell us where you’re going to cut off the line instead of having people wait with the hope of getting ice cream. Why does it take 10+ minutes to get one scoop of ice cream for the orders that got taken. It’s ridiculous. Either tell people where the line is cut off 30 minutes before closing or just serve the people still in line. Worst ice cream experience ever. Literally had such high hopes since I tried the pint before from a local vendor.

Delicious ice cream variety! Mango, pistachio, chocolate and strawberry flavors were so good! I am sure the rest of the flavors are delicious as well! We went three times during our stay in Brookline.
