Yelp
Every time I have been to ATL (I live here now) I have always asked my lyft/uber drivers if they knew about good Jamaican restaurants.. NONE OF THEM MENTIONED THIS PLACE. I'll just do pros and cons to make it short and sweet
Cons
-happened "to not have" plantains the day I went (one complimentary ones is supposed to come with the meal via their menu in the restaurant) I was really looking forward ordering some
-No white meat upon ordering, waited 45 MINS! I didn't care I wanted my white meat but you'll see in the pros it was worth it)
-flies everywhere (luckily food was covered)
-No callaloo (rolls eyes, something ELSE they're out of)
-what's the point of having a phone number and when people call you don't answer?
-OUT OF PLANTAINS!!!! had to repeat that one. in my eyes that's unacceptable being a Jamaican restaurant
Pros
-Coco bread (i'm from STL where there's about 1.5 Jamaican restaurants and NONE of them age coco bread)
-Busy as hell (could be good and bad, but I didn't mind this time I came)
-Hole in the wall black owned spot -- these are usually the best sorry to say but it's the truth
-FOOD X 1000000 (this food was so damn good, white meat so tender, jerk sauce so good, not too sweet not to spicy)
-Jerk sauce (as stated before, not too spicy, not too sweet; yes their jerk sauce had a sweet spin on it, from others I have had)
-Meat cooked juuuuuust right...literally
I just took off one star because I had to wait for A LONG TIME for my white meat jerk chicken. MORE PEOPLE after me had wanted white meat, so I'm not understanding why they don't prepare for that because it seems like their most popular choice of meat (between dark and white). I really don't feel like businesses should run out of things especially their popular dishes. I guess the waiting was worth it because I tore that food up when I finally got home (after being on the highway and passing yet another 3 accidents on 75)
