Google
I ordered the jerk chicken here, and I was extremely disappointed. The chicken was dry, flavorless, and the skin was pale—not the crispy, charred skin you’d expect from authentic jerk. It tasted bland and downright unpleasant. This is not what jerk chicken is supposed to be. I will never go back, and I strongly advise others to think twice before wasting their money here. Very disappointing.

Google
Ox tail is good, very soft and juicy. Jerk chicken is a bit dry.

Google
Jamrock Jerk is the best food truck I have ever experienced in my lifetime. Not only is the food unbelievable! The service is all the way 5 star! Speaking from someone that has spent extensive time in Jamaica before it became Americanized many years ago. The food on this food truck is prepared just like it is prepared in Jamaica. I really could not tell the difference. Only thing missing was the coco bread, and rum punch....but if you're watching your figure, who cares about bread.... (Shrugs shoulders) Definitely check out this amazing food truck. They are in different locations throughout Manhattan. You will truly enjoy the freshly prepared, authentic Jamaican food.

Google
This is a great food truck. Nice to see they have multiple for everyone to try. Would be nice for them to ad a brick and mortar but I’m sure rent is way to high for that. Their prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. We had the chicken and pork. The chicken was better. The pork was just a little dry but good flavor on both. The rice and beans were some of the best I have had. This is a must if in the city.

Purchased my food at Court Street and Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. I see there are numerous locations, so this is an established enterprise. First I would like to say the food is excellent. I just had a few suggestions: the top of the box does not stay closed. Your advertising on the box and bag, Will help the customer remember the name of the eatery. My suggestion is, the boxes and bags can be plain. A big sticky label, with the name, number and Gmail would be suffice. If possible there could be a perforated tear off card on the sticky label for the customer to keep for future reference. Your marketing is a nice touch, but so much money would be saved with using the label, that would keep the box closed and have all of the establishments info on the detachable card. I cannot wait to purchase my next meal! Also, the festival Dance Africa, is coming up Labor Day weekend in Brooklyn, a three day celebration, with vendors outside. I did mention this to the young ladies who served me, last Sunday! Good luck to your future!🥰

Google
I would go with the jerk chicken. The stew oxtail was packed, but too heavy and greasy. It was pricey but a lot of food. I like the jerk chicken the best.

CJ Densmore - IDQAB

Google
Fantastic Jerk Chicken and sides but a little on the pricey side at $20. Regardless, I’ll allow it since the chicken hit. Food truck was near Brookfield Place in Lower Manhattan.

Quay May

Google
The food was tasty. However, $25 for THREE pieces of oxtails is RIDICULOUS. And this doesn’t even really qualify as three pieces because one was so tiny. I love trying food and supporting different businesses. But this was a complete ripoff. Never again.

Yelp
Pretty good jerk especially the pork. Quick delivery in Fidi Didn't really like Mac And cheese though

Yelp
I love Jamrock Jerk! Every time I order, I'm not at all disappointed. The jerk chicken is so good and the Mac n cheese is even better.

Yelp
they usually have good food and its season. I usually order their jerk pork and jerk chicken. their sauces are good for the chicken and the pork. overall it's always good food and good portion size.

Yelp
Saw this truck parked near Hudson Yards and glad I tried it! I ordered a combo of both the Jerked Chicken & Jerked Pork because I couldn't decide what I wanted and it smelled amazing. Both were sooo good. The chicken was juicy and moist. The pork was flavorful. They both had a kick to it and it also comes with a jerk sauce (which was not spicy). My platter also included rice & peas, fried plantains, and a salad. The sides were all delicious! The combo platter I got was filling and I ended up sharing it with my husband and it filled us both up for lunch. I can't wait to come back again to try their oxtail and mac n cheese.

Yelp
Best Jamaican restaurant in Charlotte. I follow this food truck all over. The food and the staff is amazing

Yelp
We stopped by their Hudson Yards truck recently for lunch. First, super impressed by how well organized the food truck is ran; clear line, with tablets to accept orders, the order came fast, and everything was clearly hot and fresh. I opted for the full meat meal of all chicken. This was a LOT of chicken, and this comes from someone who loves their proteins. Easily enough for 2 meals. The meat itself was also really good. Lots of smoky flavor and seasoned really well. It could have been a bit more tender at parts, but still juicy overall. They also give two sauces, a spicy habanero and a jerk sauce. The jerk sauce just tasted like BBQ sauce with a twist, so nothing special. The spicy sauce was really good, not too spicy but provided great flavor. Will definitely be back! For $18, to get 2 meals worth of really delicious chicken, is a fantastic deal!

Yelp
My favorite jerk chicken food truck. Every time I'm in Union Square and stumble upon Jamrock Jerk, I'm going to get food every time. I usually wait until I get home to warm it up and eat it because I hate eating on the go or while outside. Plus, I need to eat it with out any interruptions or distractions while I savor every bite ... check their website for locations. That jerk sauce is finger licking good... Ig:@Thefunfluencer

Yelp
I thought it was kismet when I saw an Instagram ad for Jamrock Jerk, stepped outside hours later and saw their truck preparing fresh jerk chicken and pork at Cooper Square. I am currently going through a jerk chicken hyperfixation phase so I have eaten my fair share of the dish. The line was about 8 people deep and I waited probably for 15 minutes until it was my turn, so the turnover rate was quite speedy. I ordered the jerk chicken platter ($16) which comes with rice and peas, plantains, and a scoop of salad. I liked that the platter came with salad as I am always craving greens with my jerk chicken. However, this chicken did not come chopped (my personal preference) and it was bone dry. It was difficult to eat overall because the chicken lost a lot of flavor and moisture, and the jerk sauce tasted like sweet, watery barbecue sauce. Overall, a massive disappointment given the amount of positive reviews. I am hoping my experience was a fluke but I don't think I would want to return anytime soon.

Yelp
Fast lunch, great flavors. I especially liked their scotch bonnet sauce. The line was quick on a Saturday and it's an ample amount of food for $17 or so. Meat was very tender, rice & plantains were also tasty. Glad I finally checked out this interesting food cart.

Yelp
I was enticed by the incredibly intoxicating smell of the smokers when I walked by on the street. My bf and I waited around for an hour just for this place to open. We're so glad we did because it was worth the wait! The portion size is incredible and very filling. We ordered the pork with an extra serving of chicken (for only $3 more) and an order of ox tail. Everything was juicy and tender and had the most perfect smokey flavor. I honestly didn't even need to add the spicy sauce because the jerk seasoning provided enough of a kick.
google avatar

Ronit M.

Yelp
Best roasted chicken I've had in a while. Meat falls off the bone! They have other dishes to try / I'd like to try. Hope they're around for good, and if they have an actual brick and mortar in NYC I'm totally down to go. Happy eats!

Yelp
Food, service. Very pleasant gentlemen, upbeat, friendly and God fearing. Go see him . It's definitely worth the time , money and food

Yelp
I did pick up and take out. I didn't wait on the line to get the food. However, I ordered at 10:30 am on their website and the food didn't get ready until 12:30 pm. I asked for 12:15pm pick-up time, too, so that's my only gripe. If you want to get your food on time, order way in advance online. I asked for Italian dressing, the hot pepper sauce, the jerk sauce, and the utensils. I did get everything as asked for, and the food was good. I don't really eat breakfast, so today, as usual, this was my first meal of the day, and it was just enough food for me. I ordered the pork, and it was a bit fatty and burnt, but it wasn't too bad. I didn't eat the burnt parts. All in all, I was satisfied and may go back in the future.

Yelp
1. The black beans rice was 4/5. 2. The chicken was 5/5. Amazing 3. The Mac & Cheese was 3.9/5; it was room temperature. 4. The salad with dressing was 5/5. 5. The JamRock - Jerk Sauce was 4.7/5. 6. The passion fruit lemonade was 3.5/5 7. Sweet fried plantain was 3.5/5; it was room temperature. Tip: I didn't know the food was going to be spicy - one corner of the rice was extremely spicy. If you don't like spicy food, let them know. The food 100% satisfied me for the cost value.

Yelp
I've heard about this spot at my job and when I heard that they sell oxtails, I had to go and try it out for lunch. Unfortunately, I had a late lunch and they had ran out of oxtails. I ended up getting the jerk chicken with maduro and salad. It was so good, especially when I tried the chicken with their sauce, which came in a packet. I had a cherry lemonade, which is now my favorite type of lemonade. I went again for lunch another time but this time at noon to ensure that I got a chance to order oxtail. I wasn't surprised that there was a long line since I've heard it's pretty popular and DJ Khaleed had recently gone to visit it and shared the moment on Instagram. I waited 15 minutes but it was worth it because the oxtails were amazing. They served me plenty of oxtail that I ended up saving some for dinner. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who likes jerk chicken or oxtail.

Yelp
We've been wanting to try Jamrock Jerk for some time now and the stars finally aligned! We ordered a full-box of jerk chicken, box of rice/beans, and box of plantains. Everything was gooooooood! Great flavors all around. Next time, we'll also need to try the mac n'cheese. It was a 90-degree day so we were happy that we could order pick up in advance and, therefore, didn't need to stand in line in the heat. Definitely give Jamrock a try!

Yelp
- no line on park ave at 2pm on a 60 degree friday - typical Jamaican lady service iykyk I say that with endearment :) - delicious oxtail -delicious rice - delicious pork - they are not stingy with the sauce - good lemonade - room temperature tasting food - Max n cheese is regular - they were out of plantains and jerk chicken when I was there - extra jerk sauce packets ftw - good tasting pepper sauce - fast turnover -

Yelp
For $20 it really wasn't all that great. Jerk sauce wasn't authentic, chicken was cooked well though. The rice and beans were the highlight. I tried a friends Mac and cheese and it was sub par. The workers were great and super friendly but they messed up my order and it took forever to come. Worth a check out but not my cup of tea.
google avatar

Doug W.

Yelp
Grabbed this food while they were over on Park Ave and damn am I glad I did; I wanted some oxtails but they didn't have em that day so I grabbed both chicken and pork to try everything I could... duh? Everything from the rice to the chicken and back was really friggen good Smoked flavor with that heat filled backbone. Their take on jerk sauce to compliment the heat with a bit of sweet n sour is everything, I just didn't have enough of it!
google avatar

Tara F.

Yelp
I know the whole meal here is amazing but I'm an avid Mac and cheese lover and this food truck has one of my favorites so I had to get it as my only side! It's by my office on Wednesdays and it's a can't miss. Their jerk sauce adds so much extra flavor as well.

Yelp
Jamrock is actually a mobile food cart that goes to different locations all around NYC. You have to check their website to see where they'll be next. Since it's a street cart, there menu is limited. They basically offer jerk chicken, jerk pork and stewed oxtail. A platter of one of these comes with salad, plantains and rice and peas for about $16.00. You can also order a large container of just the sides separately instead too. The price is above average for a street cart, but the portion size is big. And the jerk chicken is amazing. It is authentic, very flavorful and they do not hold back on the spiciness. It is definitely worth a try if the cart is near you. However, I can easily get equally good food at Caribbean places in Queens or Brooklyn for much lower prices with more choices, so I probably wouldn't eat with them again.
google avatar

Jen H.

Yelp
We stumbled on this food cart, and so glad we did! The oxtail was SOOO GOOOD! I highly recommend the oxtail. The other meats were okay, but the oxtail was so tender and flavorful. Definitely would order oxtail again if I am in the area.

Yelp
3.5 stars. I got the jerk chicken with salad and rice and peas when the stand was in Cooper Square. While the food was really good, I thought it was pretty expensive for what I got. I paid $17 for chicken and salad.
google avatar

Emi B.

Yelp
Really love seeing NYC food truck scene trending with delicious food ! This place always got a long line, glad they came to Fidi on Fridays. Generous portion but it's a pricier point among food truck. Mac n Cheese could be better, not so memorable.
google avatar

Susan C.

Yelp
Still as good today as it was two years ago--occasionally I pick up lunch or dinner from them. Even before seeing their food truck you'll smell the deliciousness wafting around the block. Sometimes the line gets long but recently when I've dropped by it's moved faitly quickly. At $16 a box for jerk chicken or jerk pork, beans and rice, salad, and a few fried sweet plantains, this makes about two meals for me. Their oxtail ($20) is a treat. They sell jerk chicken or jerk pork protein only boxes for $18 which is great to spread out over several meals or freeze for a later date. I'm a fan for sure!
google avatar

Bernice M.

Yelp
I was so excited to see it outside my office on Tuesday. Check their Instagram to see where they will be everyday! They opened at 11:30a and I got there right on time and there were already 5 people on line. My coworker and I ordered a jerk chicken meal and the jerk pork meal to try both. $16 each. They were filled to the brim. The chicken and pork were both delicious, maybe a tad dry but I thought still tender. The flavor was definitely there, and enough spice that I could handle! They only give about two plantains, some salad with French dressing and the rice was good! When we got our meal, there was already about 15 people behind us. I have heard you can always order online and pick up to save yourself some time! I will definitely try it again!
google avatar

Lyndon M.

Yelp
Little expensive but not bad if you crave jerk chicken and you're in the middle of NYC.

Yelp
Ordered: Jerked Chicken Plate (~$15): served with Rice & Peas, Fried Plantains, and Fresh Salad + Mac & Cheese add-on (~$3) Aya's take: Newest food truck to bless Astoria! One thing about Jamaican food is it is always well-seasoned and bursting with flavor. The Jerk Chicken had a bit of a kick to it, a nice char, and good flavor. The Rice & Peas and Mac & Cheese are definitely sides worth getting. I wish they gave more than just 3 measly Plantains. Usually a line but worth the try!
google avatar

Eric F.

Yelp
Phenomenal food and a lot of it! I've always seen this truck around work, but never got around to trying it until this week. Went with a few coworkers for a pickup order done online (would definitely recommend) around 1PM. It's a busy, pretty hectic experience with a huge line and online orders being handled on the right side and the rest of the line on the left. I got the jerked pork meal with fried plantains add on and split a side order of mac and cheese with coworkers. For the meal itself, it was a great, hefty amount. There was another layer of pork underneath what was visible and although a few pieces were "pure fat," it's so good I don't mind. Comes with your choice of salad dressing, amazing jerk sauce and scotch bonnet hot sauce (optional). Mac n cheese was fine and the plantains were yummy. Definitely looking forward to my next visit.
google avatar

Neil H.

Yelp
I finally got to try Jamrock Jerk, the Jerk Chicken truck parked on the corner of 30th Ave and Newtown Ave last week. Three pieces of jerk chicken, rice, beans, salad, and a soda for around $20. They are so much better than the new Jamaican deli, Notable. The jerk chicken tasted better, and you could see the chicken being cooked. They had no seating, unlike a few of the other food trucks, so I went across the street and found some open seating. Jamrock Jerl, LLC has set up all around the city but only comes to Astoria in the late Spring and Summer.
google avatar

Lexx T.

Yelp
Had Jamrock for the first time about 2 months ago after hearing about them for 2 years or so. The truck parked right near my job so it was the perfect opportunity. I ordered the jerk chicken meal which came with rice and peas, salad, and 2 lil pieces of plantain. Honestly they could spare to add another piece or two of plantain, but that's just me. Anyway, the chicken was authentic, spicy (as jerk is), and flavorful. The rice and peas was perfect and not dry!! Now the reason I had to knock off a start was the oxtail. A few weeks later I ordered the oxtail and chile... it was LOADED with fat. For $24 that's unacceptable! My co worker and one of my students also ordered the oxtail and both had the same experience. I also had a mango lemonade which was good and not overly sweet. I'd stick to the chicken, but they still a do dem ting!!!

Reesie R.

Yelp
Thank you for filling the NEED for decent food in the square! The staff are nice, the food is fresh, and the long line moves (it's long for a reason!).

Felicia H.

Yelp
OMG I bought Jerk pork dinner and jerk chicken dinner it was delicious the pork and the chicken the peas&Rice was cook to perfection I will definitely be ordering again Thank you Shamrock jerk Williamsburg
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty tasty chicken, rice & beans, and plantains. I guess it is just a bit pricey. But portion is solid and good punchy flavor. I'd recommend the habenero sauce for a little heat.
google avatar

Tunaidi A.

Yelp
Jamrock Jerk is pretty awesome. Aside from this location, they also show up on the lower upper east side near Trader Joe's on the weekends. Very good jerk chicken and pork. Packaging and sides are great. Salad is clean. However, sometimes, they've forgotten to include all the sides in the meal.
google avatar

Andy C.

Yelp
So good. So damn good. I had ordered lunch from another spot and was leaving my office to pick it up. Once I get to the lobby, I was hit by smoke. A few maintenance staff were milling about so I assumed there were some mechanical issues, but when I stepped outside I realized the source was this food truck. Parked right outside my lunch spot. And it smelled so good, I ended up with 2 lunches. Ordered a pork meal but added on the chicken. You know, for science. Nice crust on both meats, both were moist with good flavor. Comes with a salad with really good greens, some rice and plantains. Great deal, very generous portions of meat, so it'll feed you for at least 2-3 meals. Adding on the meat only cost a few bucks so I would definitely recommend it. I'll be back to try the oxtail.
google avatar

Sang D.

Yelp
Pork was extremely chewy, gristly, most of the pieces were inedible. Extremely lacking in flavor as well. Smoked pork should be soft, tender, flavorful. The skin was chewy, fat all over the place. Portions were small for $17. This is a complete rip off. Rice and plantains were good but 2 small pieces of plantains is not going to cut it.
google avatar

Jewel M.

Yelp
"Welcome to Jamrock!!" Ha! I've ordered from here several times via Ubereats and was never disappointed. I honestly can say that for a street vendor they have some pretty solid food! They've exceeded my expectations by far! The oxtails AND Jerk chicken were both banging! Both served fresh, good portions and tasty! Side salad was also fresh and crispy which is a huge plus. They have their own Jerk sauce and hot sauce packets that are served on the side in "Jamrock" packaging and they are fire!! So good! Also, salad dressing of your choice is served on the side in Jamrock packets. Jamrock ROCKS!!
google avatar

Christine C.

Yelp
Jamrock Jerk is such a great find for lunch. The food is authentic and flavorful! Anytime I'm in the vicinity to pick up or have delivered, I make it a point to order. The serving size never disappoints either. Some of the chicken on today's order was a bit too charred (the reason for 4 stars) but the pieces that weren't were well seasoned and moist. I especially love the scotch bonnet pepper. If you like heat and spice, you need to try that hot sauce. It's legit! And let's not forget the rice and peas...made to perfection and served with sweat plantains. Perfect combo of savory and sweet.
google avatar

Jatara I.

Yelp
There nothing much to write here. Except everything on the menu is amazing. I forward to Saturdays so I can order Jamrock. I always order online because the lines are very long but well worth it. And that if you have not experienced Jamrock Jerk. You don't know what your missing. Mic drop

Yelp
Had a short layover in New York and decided to give this place a try. Ordered it to go and I could not have been more pleased. The food was professionally packed and the taste was amazing! Loved the mac and cheese and the jerk chicken was very flavorful.
google avatar

Emily P.

Yelp
The Jamrock Jerk truck is parked outside of my building every Tuesday, and has a line that stretches almost halfway down the block during lunch time. It looks like you can order online for pickup (up until a certain time), but I took my chances and went closer to their closing time to avoid the crazy lunch rush. I ordered the jerk chicken, fried plantains, and mac and cheese. I thought the mac and cheese was well-seasoned but could have been a little cheesier. The fried plantains were sweet and delicious. The jerk chicken was magnificent. It has a nice char on the outside, and is absolutely tender and juicy on the inside. The spice level is just right to me, although I think most spice-veterans would probably think it's more on the mild side. It also comes with a sweet jerk sauce that goes well with the chicken. The service was prompt and friendly. They also take credit cards. I'll definitely return soon.
google avatar

Uyen N.

Yelp
I passed by the foodtruck and saw a pretty long line, and I decided to join it to grab some food. It was pretty good. My favorite meat is oxtail; very seasoned and soft. Jerk chicken thigh falls off the bone very easily. Food is slightly spicy, and gets spicier towards the end. If you like plantain, definitely order extra. Also ask for extra sauce (all of them) as well. You can pre-order for pick up to avoid the line. Check their ig to see where they will be.

Yelp
I was so excited to see JamRock Jerk back in Forest Hills. I may have been stalking their Insta to see when they'd be back. They will be there here every Saturday for the season and other locations may be viewed via their website. You can either order via their site or head down and order in person. As soon as you get close the smells coming off the grills are intoxicating. The meals are large portions and include choice of meat, salad, rice & peas and plantains. Everything is so delicious. It really hits the spot. Both the Jerk Chicken and the Jerk Pork are so flavorful with some nice heat and cooked well. They offer some Jerk sauce on the side, be sure to use it, because it enhances the meat even more. Also if you really like the heat, make sure you ask for their hot sauce. You can customize your platter by adding extra meat or sides or even Mac & Cheese, which is also delicious. I'm happy to be able to enjoy JamRock again!

Yelp
My Yelp elite buddy Danesh gave me the heads up that this spot was in my hood of Forest Hills. I love Jamaican food, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity! Before getting there I checked out their website jamrockjerkny.com to see their menu. Even though they have online ordering as an option, my wife and I decided to order the food when we got there. When we arrived, there was a line snaking around the corner of the block. Things were moving pretty fast, so I didn't worry to much about the wait. After waiting about 20 minutes, we placed our orders. I asked for the oxtail jerk, and unfortunately they were out of it (I was there at 6:10 pm). So I went with the pork jerk instead. My wife got the chicken jerk and a cherry lemonade (they ran out of other flavors). It may have taken them about 10 minutes or so to fill out orders and have us on our merry way. What's great is that unlike many other food trucks, they take credit card! When we got home we devoured the food . The pork jerk had a great level of spice. It was very soft and tender since they smoked it. The included sides of plantains, rice, and salad complemented the meat very well. Highly recommend you check this place out!
