Jamsen's Bakery

I was at Jamsen’s bakery in Copper Harbor, Michigan in September 2025. They were the only food and beverage place that was open at 7 AM in a very quiet and sleepy town. They had great coffee and tea and the muffins were spectacular. The gluten-free banana walnut muffins sensational. Also, I discovered thimbleberry jam. It would’ve never occurred to me to buy a jar of jam that cost $24, but after trying a jar, I went back and bought six more for gifts. Don’t hesitate to give this place a try. You will be happy that you did.

Stopped here on the way out of town last week. Friendly service. Great hot and cold coffee...you get what you ordered. The breakfast sandwich was really really good!

We had heard about the Thimbleberry donuts, so we sought out the bakery as soon as we arrived in Copper Harbor. So glad we did! Absolutely delicious, and you can't beat the view while enjoying your donut.

Awesome bakery and coffee shop. Great seating options with views of the harbor. Coffee was good, the kids loved the watermelon lemonade, and my son with food allergies (real ones, not lifestyle choice) was actually able to order a baked good! They had a Gluten Free/Dairy Free cherry raspberry muffin he loved so much we got another one the next day. Make this a stop on your trip to Copper Harbor.

Can't speak highly enough about this place. We got quite the variety of items and all were perfect. Very fair pricing as well. They have a nice outdoor seating area with stunning views.

Oh my. The thimbleberry glazed, homemade donuts are ahhhmazing. The owner was so nice to chat with. The coffee was hot and the tea hit the spot! Go see her! Off the beaten path, down on the waterfront, with outdoor seating to relax and take in the wonderful views of Lake Superior. The water is sooo clear! Great place for an afternoon pick-me-up snack! She serves all kinds of bakery items and quick sandwiches, also, as well as coffee and teas.

Delicious way to start the day in Copper Harbor … thimbleberry donut and time on the Lake! Great spot. Very kind staff.

Just an FYI for anyone looking to visit off-season: Google shows this business as open every day this week, but when we drove all the way to Cooper Harbor from Houghton, there was a sign in the door that says "closed for the season". I had checked their website (no hours posted) and called the phone number listed (not in service) to confirm before making the drive. Be sure you confirm the off-season hours before driving up. Hopefully you do and the donuts are as good as everyone says they are.
