One of the most memorable experiences from our recent Goa trip was our visit to Jamun, a beautifully restored heritage Goan villa that has been transformed into a full dine-in restaurant. The moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by its signature purple—Jamun-colored walls, décor, and even table settings. The attention to detail is striking, with the menu, napkins, and various design accents all following the same theme, giving the entire place a unique and vibrant identity.
What also impressed us was discovering that they have a branch in Delhi as well, which we’re now excited to visit soon. The Goan outlet, however, truly stands out for its ambiance and hospitality.
We ordered the Ghee Roast Chicken with Malabar Parotta, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The chicken was perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and paired wonderfully with the flaky parotta. Along with it, they served a generous portion of complimentary papadams accompanied by a variety of chutneys. The mint and mango chutneys in particular were outstanding and added a refreshing touch.
For drinks, we tried their signature Jamun Ras mocktail made with pure jamun purée, as well as the Aam Panna. Both beverages came with a subtle spicy rim on the glass, making them perfect refreshers on a warm sunny day.
Although the prices lean toward the higher side, the overall experience—ambiance, quality of food, presentation, and service—makes it truly worth it. We would definitely revisit Jamun the next time we are in Goa.
