"Janchay’s Bistro offers a new menu and vision with Thai flavors alongside Italian, French, and American fare, including dishes like braised lamb shank in massamun curry, classic tom yum soup, bouillabaisse, pho, miso soup with clams, Provencal-style chicken, mussels Rockefeller, and seared foie gras over sticky rice." - Janelle Bitker

Panang curry was delicious! Beautifully plated. Looks like in February they have $2 beers and sake for happy hour from 5-7

The fusion kitchen can be odd at times, combining Thai, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, even pasta, but the flavors are good overall. However, the prices are high. We were also in an almost empty restaurant, with just one other, very noisy party of 6. The waitress didn't take any steps to prevent the them from making it impossible for us to have a conversation.

Great neighborhood spot. J is very accommodating as well as the staff. Cocktail menu has some classics along with some interesting items. Definitely a step up from your typical Thai spot. Bring a group so you can try everything!

Delicious. They've always been great, since the days of Thep Phenom. They were a bit less consistent toward the end of the Thep Phenom days, so it's good that they did a complete overhaul, to began again with a fresh, new concept. I was initially sad to lose Thep Phenom, but now that I've tried Janchays, I'm not. It's great. Same high quality food, with newly inspired dishes, and a few Thep Phenom throwbacks still on the menu. Prices went up a couple dollars more than before but higher prices are becoming pretty standard in this area. The difference is that their focus isn't on Thai food anymore. It's now more of an Asian / French, fusion style. It feels more fused with Vietnamese than Thai to me. They've changed the interior design as well. They've done away with the ornate, classically styled Thai fixtures of Thep Phenom. They've traded it in for a fresh new look. Now they're sporting modern, minimalist black and white features, but it's not dull or boring. It's chic, it definitely resembles the style of a French bistro! I tried the Shaking Beef. It was delicious. Better than most other places I've tried. Very saucy. I savored each morsel. The portions are fairly small but that's not unusual in pricier spots.. I'd love to try their Bouillabaisse some time. It looks delicious.

Loved Janchay’s! My spouse and I dined at the precursor restaurant all the time, and we’re thrilled when it reopened with an updated menu but the same friendly staff. Fantastic food!

Updated menu includes old Thep Phenom favorites Weeping Lady and Titanic Beef! Refreshed dining area and menu mean Janchay’s will remain a favorite go!

Exceptional Thai food at a reasonable price, good portions and never too crowded. I recommend the Pad Thai and seared tofu satay with peanut sauce!
