"Grazie Nonna chef Julian Addison recently expanded his NYC-style pizza place across state lines with a new locale inside Crooked Run Fermentation’s brewery in Virginia. Union Market-born J&J sells classic pies and creative pizzas, like kale, cream, and caramelized onions on the Cream of the Crop." - Tierney Plumb, Emily Venezky

This is objectively good pizza. I don't just say that because this is one of my favorite places to visit in the area. I'm really down for every pie on the menu... that isn't something you can say for most pizza places.

We ordered take-out for a family gathering. The pepperoni was ok. The kale mushroom pie was amazing- it had a spicy sauce and it was cooked to perfection. Yum! It takes about 20 mins from when you order to when they are ready. Pickup was easy.

Good NY pizza is hard to find in this area. Two large slices and a drink (beer, cocktail, or soda) for twelve clams is a solid deal, especially in the year 2024! The buffalo chicken slice was stellar, I can't wait to come back on a weekend when more slices are available - and to try the wings. Pizza, wings and beer are GOAT combos, I'm glad these are available along with the tasty beer from Crooked Run!

It’s been a while since I’ve been here, but the beers were great, and the food options were fantastic!

Pizza was great, wings were just as good! Ordered take out but will definitely be eating it fresh next time.

I keep having the same negative experience here, and I think I’m ready to throw in the towel despite the delicious food. My family and I have made multiple takeout orders here since they’ve opened, and each time, the pickup experience is a big bummer. We arrive at the pickup time that’s provided by the restaurant only to find that the food is not ready (it actually seems like it hasn’t even been started). All the employees behind the counter seem to avoid eye contact so getting any info about your order status is like pulling teeth. At my last pickup, I tried to ask an employee when my order would be done since it was 15 minutes past the pickup time. She pointed at the other bar (?) and immediately turned her back to me. This place could be so great if they work on customer service, but for now it’s a flop for me.

Great service and excellent food! Loved the vibes and atmosphere. Elijah was so kind and knowledgeable. They have many food and drink options. Will definitely come back.

I ordered a slice and was told I couldn’t do any modifications to it so even though I wanted a pepperoni and bacon slice I had to settle for only pepperoni because the kitchen doesn’t allow modifications on slices. This also meant i couldn’t get extra cheese, I had to hope they choose a cheesy one. Pretty annoying. The rules are what they are so I’ll most likely go somewhere else next time. That way when I spend my money I’ll feel like I’m really getting what I want

Yelp
So we were at Crooked Run and Ramon's and saw this had just opened, so each got a slice to try it out. They make good pizza. The price point may be a little high ($6/slice of pepperoni w/ a 20% tip), but it's good, NY style thin crust. Next time will probably get a pie to go.
