A late-hours Korean pub vibe with BBQ combos, army stew, and snappy banchan. Not flashy, just soulful cooking, soju pitchers, and a grill rhythm locals return to.

One of my favorite Korean BBQ restaurants! Authentic Korean dishes. Great quality meats and sides. We ordered the Bar B Que pork belly and beef. The staff cooked it right at our table and it tasted so good. The Seafood Tofu soup and Seafood Pancake were delicious as well. All the Ban Chan sides were perfect. Soju and hot tea to drink.

Picked this place after I googled “late night Korean food near me”. A few places in Santa Clara popped up. Decided to give this restaurant a shot after looking at the pics, but without reading the reviews. Still didn’t read the reviews since I’ve already been there. Entered a restaurant full of Korean men having an after work dinner/drinks ; at least 3-4 tables with one customer shouting at/into his phone “I love you”. The vibes of this place is literally taking one back to Korea 2 decades ago. Literally everyone is speaking Korean. I ordered my favorite nakji-bokkeum. I was tempted to try my other Korean favorite seafood jjukkumi but the waitress said nakji-bokkeum is more popular. Banchan were mostly spicy which I prefer but my friend could only eat the non spicy bean sprouts and ordered the bbq pork belly which was cooked in the kitchen as minimum of 2 orders are required for bbq. Everything is relatively tasty but since it is my 1st visit, I couldn’t tell if this place provides a different set of banchan and bbq ingredients if u ordered 2 portions and grilled at the table vs having it cooked back in the kitchen. I noticed afterwards that at 2 other tables that ordered bbq, they had lettuce leaves to wrap their meat with vs my friend getting only raw garlic, green chili pepper slices and dips. My nakji-bokkeum had a decent amount of nakji 🐙 but the taste wasn’t impressive. If I go to this restaurant again, I’ll try the soup for my late night Korean food cravings since it stays open late till midnight according to Google. Not really into the Korean bbq…prefer Japanese beef for bbq. This place seems rather pricey overall with no ambiance to speak of that will justify the prices unless you prefer the suburban Korean vibes.

Very nice Korean place, we enjoyed so much the delicious barbecue, and the sides were excellent. Fantastic food, quite affordable. A great table for a great dinner with friends

Google
Small cozy Korean place - feels really homey and local. We got the pork bone soup (it was a lot, quite flavourful) and the LA galbi. The LA galbi was SO GOOD. We wanted to try the friend chicken but the wait for it was a bit too long for us.

Google
The food was really good. Gamjatang was flavorful. The lady there kept rolling her eyes though for some reason. Daughter in law probably 🤣

Authentic Korean fare. Location is a little easy to miss as its situated front of a drive way that leads into a building... Ordered beef short ribs and it was wonderful.

I loved the food here. The service is fast and courteous. It's small and doesn't get too noisy. It's officially my favorite Korean food place!

Yelp
Final Thoughts: 4.74/5 Small KBBQ spot in Santa Clara area. They actually sell Korean BBQ items, but also have the option to just get your typical Korean food dishes, as well, if you don't want KBBQ that day. This is a dinner and late night eats place. Their dishes are very homey and comforting, so it works with their opening and closing times. Food: Korean Barbeque Combos: #1) Anseem, chadolbaegi, samgyeopsal with seafood tofu soup (Tenderloin, beef brisket, and pork belly with seafood tofu soup): 4.4/5 This comes with a variety of meats and they also provide a tofu soup to go with it. All of the meats are nicely cut and tender. There is some nice marbling on some of the meat and they all appeared of optimal quality. The meats go well with all of the sides and ssamjang sauce. Something I like to do is dip the meat in the tteokbokki sauce, as well. The flavors just work together nicely for me. What I typically do is put the meat in the lettuce and dip it in the sauce. The lettuce adds a refreshing element to the meats and gives it some texture since the meats are tender. For their tofu soup, it comes out piping hot in the bowl. Flavor is quite nice. For spiciness, it was a good kick for me. Subjective, but I liked the balance of spice and seasonings here. Very warm and comforting. Tteokbokki with ramen noodles and cheese: 4.7/5 This item comes with rice cake that includes fish cake, egg, and vegetables with sweet and spicy sauce. The sweet and spicy sauce is where it's at for me. Personal preference, but I love the level of sweetness. Others will perhaps say the balance of sweetness of spicy is off and too sweet, but I personally like it that way. The texture of the rice cakes are nicely cooked. They're chewy, but still have that nice bite to it. Fish cakes are always a must with this dish and they are not skimping with them. I will say though that I wish they had at least another egg added into the dish. There's a singular one and that might be related to the egg shortage these days. It's not a big concern, but I do love my eggs in this dish, as well. The noodles and cheese are provided with an additional cost. They are always a must for us though because anything with this sauce tastes amazing. If they bottled it up and sold that, I would have gotten one. Note: This place seasons their food items a little sweeter than other places. This is the case for their sauces, kimchi, pickled items, etc. It's delicious for me, but I understand that other people might not be too fond of this level of sweetness. --------- Quality: Fresh Their meats are quite nice and I like the variety that is provided to us. They were all very tender and had nice flavor. Very nice marbling happening on the meats too. For their sides, the vegetable items were also very fresh, which I love. The items seemed fresh and not wilted. Price: Little pricey The prices do lean more on the expensive side. I have gone here once before and this is my second time, so I'm aware that inflation has affected their prices too. Between 3 people, the price was about $45 each. This might not be the case for everyone depending on what is bought. We went with a Korean BBQ, so it's naturally going to be more expensive. They have options for you to pick from though. Service: Pleasant Something about this restaurant is that a staff member will cook the meat for you. I don't see this happening often in Korean BBQ places, but this is one of them. Some people will find this a plus and others will prefer to cook the meat themselves. I'm pretty neutral about it and they weren't standing there the whole time. It was only to cook the meats, put them on the side so we can pick the pieces ourselves to eat, and then leave for a bit and come back to cook the next meat once we cleared the grill. Ambiance: Homey Very small and almost like a hole in the wall. It gives me very homey Korean household vibes. The interior looks like a small little shop. Not too many seats inside, but it seems optimal. We haven't had a concern with any wait times or seating yet. Location/Parking: Hole in the wall This shop is kind of hidden? It is located on the side of the road, but the signage and spot of it is almost hidden in plain sight. Something that was mentioned to me was that this place might do better if they were in a better location. Their food is quite good, but just their location is a little hidden. The parking space in the back is optimal for this area. There's not too many shops around here, so the parking appears optimal for the space.

Yelp
Jang Mo Jip is a run-down KBBQ spot that seriously needs a deep clean and a refresh. The place is small with only a few tables that have vents, but they use portable grills so the smoke just builds up fast--by the time you're done grilling, you're the one who's smoked. The interior? Not much better. Dusty fake flowers on the walls that look like they haven't been touched in years, and everything--from the floors to the tables--feels oily and grimy. Even the server coming out from the kitchen looked like he hadn't changed out of stained whites in days. What really turned me off: he dropped one of my wings while serving and just picked it up with his fingers and put it back on the plate without saying a word. I honestly don't know how they pass health inspections. Food itself is nothing special. BBQ pork is your standard frozen, ultra-thin, bacon-like cut. Nothing worth writing home about. Service was average, but the whole experience was uncomfortable. I won't be returning. This place desperately needs a major clean-up and overhaul.

Yelp
broke people do not associate the picture i included was $70 dollars for a small plate of frozen meat. I'm all for supporting mom and pop businesses but this was a total rip off, don't get their kbbq, stick to the other entrees .

Yelp
Great place to get some authentic korean food - little hole in the wall. Everything we got was good. I especially recommend the seafood pancake.

Yelp
We ordered food to go on a Wednesday night at 6 pm. Food would be ready in 25 minutes. It was a small parking lot and a small restaurant with not much ambiance but it was filled with young adult diners. We had the seafood pancake, big, salty, chewy and okay. We also had Goon-Mandu - fried dumplings, not too exciting but crisp, a side of rice which was normal, bulgogi- marinated slices of beef, tasted okay, some fatty parts. Of course, we ordered Yangnyeon tondak- traditional Korean fried chicken with sweet & spicy sauce, half and half. The non sauce chicken pieces was perfectly crisp, cooked thru, and still juicy. The sauced was a bit mushy and good flavor. The pork tofu soup was my favorite. It was spiced just right. It came with a small container of daikon and a small divided container with fresh banchan which were delicious. Overall, good. I think I've had better bulgogi. I would order non sauced kfc. I really liked the tofu soup. I would consider doing take out again.

Yelp
Hole in the wall serving some pretty damn good Korean food! Friend took us here after we landed at SJC and we sorta went crazy ordering for 4, but everything we got was really really good. After much deliberation, we went with Gamjatang, Jokbal, Kimchi Pancake, and Kimchi Fried Rice. The gamjatang was my favorite. The flavors were on point and it's better than many LA spots. The kimchi here is really good and it's nice how they definitely used the aged kimchi for the fried rice and the pancake. A lot of folks here were just hanging out and drinking as well!

Yelp
One of my favorite mom n pop shops here in ktown! When you walk in you're immediately hit with a korean pub vibe and it feels homey. I usually come in earlier for dinner as it's not as crowded when you come in later. We always order their kimchi spam fried rice and it's the BEST I've ever had. It's spicy, salty, and delicious, especially when paired with their homemade banchan! I also really like their bbq combos because it's so filling and it's so yummy! We've also tried their army stew and the portion was huge enough to feed 3-4 people. We've had their spicy pork and although the portion is on the smaller side, it's packed with flavor. Everything's great 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
I was excited to try out this recommended Korean spot from one of my Korean friends but I'd say I wasn't crazy impressed with it. We got three dishes: the ddeokbokki, the half half fried chicken, and the kalbi short ribs. I did like how they made the sauce for the ddeokbokki for sure, a nice sweet and slightly syrupy gochujang sauce. The only downside there was the rice cakes were slightly on the overcooked side so I wish they had more of a bounce to each bite. For the fried chicken, I'm a big Korean fried chicken fan, but I'd say their fried chicken wasn't anything special. If you want good Korean fried chicken id rather go to BBQ Chicken down the street. Lastly for their kalbi short ribs, it was pretty on par with all the other Korean restaurants that serve it. Nothing spectacular. Definitely worth a try but I probably won't go back often.

Yelp
A new korean spot that I just discovered! I've gone here twice already and got seated right away. I enjoyed the ambiance at this restaurant (felt authentic and that I transported to Korea). Their banchan is sooo good -- I love the different spice levels / sweetness that was used in them especially the fish cake. The first time I came I had their lemon soju since I've never had that before and it came in a cute little pitcher. You have to like tart to enjoy this! It was refreshing but definitely sour because fresh lemon was used. I've had their tteokbokki with ramen and also with cheese, spicy marinated pork, LA galbi, korean fried chicken, and the dolsot bibimbap. The tteokbokki is so good that I've had it both times. The korean fried chicken was also good (I liked the batter on the chicken). I highly recommend this place for korean food!
google avatar

Yelp
Hole in the wall Korean restaurant with some hearty seafood pancake! I enjoyed the bibimbap as well with perfectly crispy rice. The only letdown was the Korean Fried Chicken's marinade was a little clumpy. Definitely recommend for the BBQ and seafood pancake!
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
The staff are friendly and helpful. Pretty typical Korean hospitality, the food is fairly good too. We ordered the seafood pancake and mussel soup. The pancake was crispy and flavorful if a bit oily. The soup made up for it with its light but impactful flavor. The only real criticism is that it was loud

Yelp
This is honestly one of my favorite Korean places in the South Bay to eat Korean food and grab a drink. In fact, I like to come here for the Korean BBQ-- especially the pork belly. I love thinly sliced pork belly, and they are cut perfectly and I love the texture of the meat. I also like that you can personally grill and eat at your own pace. However, the drawback is that their other dishes are mediocre or sometimes a disappointment. Their soups taste bad (like gamjatang) and I would not recommend. They also don't have a lot of various side dishes. However, I will definitely be coming here whenever I am craving pork belly.
google avatar

Luis G.

Yelp
My go to Korean spot. I'd call it a hidden gem but it gets crowded after 8PM. Service is minimal but gets the job done. Highly recommend for that kbbq fix.

Yelp
This place is open till late with lots of menu options and we love that! We ordered the bulgogi, naengmyeon, and tteokbokki for the two of us and ended ip taking the bulgogi togo. I'd say every menu item we ordered was great! The side dishes (banchan) were also all amazing! Although we could tell there was a lot of sugar involved. The only star I take off is the service which isn't the best, which is somewhat expected when they are working late night shifts. Not too much of a complaint tho!
google avatar

Lannie S.

Yelp
Delicious!! Soooo good! Definitely recommend to come! Fried chicken is good too!! Looking forward to try out different plates next time!

Sophie S.

Yelp
Too expensive for Korean. Food is just okay. When we asked for more napkins, she only gave us [one].
google avatar

Aerielle S.

Yelp
Came here at 10pm and waited around 15 minutes since the restaurant was fully seated. The banchan they gave us were really good. My personal favorite were the bean sprouts, kimchi and fish cake. For our main dishes, we had L.A. Galbi and Spam Kimchi Fried Rice. The Galbis were sticky but flavor was really good, a little sweet and a little savory. I loved the fat to meat ratio. The Spam Kimchi Fried Rice was perfect, not too spicy or salty. I really enjoyed it. The ambiance was cozy, everyone was really enjoying their meals with their company! They were slow on refilling our water but understandable since there were only 2 servers for 9 or 10 tables!

Yelp
Who loves Korean food and soup? I came here with my friends on a Thursday night when it was super cold and rainy. We wanted something hot and soupy and decided to come to Jang Mo Jip in Santa Clara, CA. We absolutely love the soups here! Starting off with the amazingly seasoned side dishes! They give 5 different side dishes here which I believe are fish cake, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, some other type of kimchi and bean sprouts! They were all delicious full of savory, sour, sweet and tangy like flavors. However, the only side dish I didn't like too much was the fish cake because the seasoning on that was a bit too salty for my taste. However, all the various kimchis were so good! I wanted to buy a jar of it to bring home. For the main course I ordered their "Subdubu-JjIgae" as displayed on their menu. It is their soft tofu soup! They give three different meat choices that you can have in your stew which are seafood, beef and pork. I chose beef! The stew was super comforting and perfect for the cold rainy weather. They are very generous with the amount of soft tofu that they put in. As for the broth, it is perfectly seasoned! Not overly salty but just enough to taste how savory and spicy it is. The stew comes with a bowl of rice like most Korean restaurants I've been to. My friend ordered "Odeng-Tang" which is their fish cake soup and he said it was good but rather spicy for him. I tried his broth and it's delicious! For me it's the perfect amount of spice! There's a lot of fishcake in the dish too. Overall I highly recommend this place because not only was everything delicious, the vibes are great! Lots of people at night, songs are playing and they have a TV LOL. I will be coming back here again! The service here is great too no complaints!
google avatar

Leslie P.

Yelp
Specifically chose Jang Mo Jip for dinner the other day because I remembered trying a hot fluffy delicious gyeran-jjim (steamed egg) from them and I was craving it!! Their banchan is delicious here and even more so when you order their kbbq combo sets bc they'll give you a shredded green onion mix (which is SO GOOD) along with lettuce and sauces. This time around, we ordered their traditional wings which were super crispy but not very meaty (I would skip for the price!) and the gamja-tang (pork bone and potato soup)! The soup had a nice flavor but it was SO spicy that we were literally sweating and couldn't finish it
google avatar

Rachel A.

Yelp
Authentic Korean food - reminds me of my mom's cooking. When I go, it's usually filled with Koreans which is always a good sign at a Korean restaurant. For their kbbq, they bring out a small portable grill which is always a cool experience if you don't own one at home. Check this place out if you want some authentic hole-in-the-wall Korean food.
google avatar

Shruti S.

Yelp
This is my to go place for Tteokbokki which is absolutely divine. It is served with a generous portion of rice cake. The kimchi was a standout, with its tangy, spicy kick that balanced the richness of the main dish.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
This is our favorite Korean spot. We're here at least once a month, sometimes once a week. The food is high quality and consistent. Their banchan is always fresh and amaaazing (my favorite banchan out of any other place). Their kimchi is bomb. Service is great and we always look forward to seeing the owners. You can't go wrong here!!
google avatar

Yelp
Not the best customer service but BEST TTEOBOKKI (spicy rice cakes) we ever had! It was hard to spot JMJ because their neon sign is in Korean, but I included a photo of their building in my review. The establishment seems to be understaff, but the food was so good! We arrived around 9:20PM and there were plenty of empty tables still Banchan: - Spicy cucumber, kimchi, spinach (?), plain blanched beansprouts - friend says it is the best she has ever had - really love the cucumber banchan - fishcake banchan was strangely tough, but fun to chew Soondubu (Spicy Tofu Soup) - great if you're cold/ rainy day - tofu is so soft - no egg Odeng-Tang (Fishcake Soup) - great if you're sick - refreshing Boiled Baby Octopus with spicy sauce - so many - chewy, standard - spicy sauce was a let down :( - would not get again unless your friends want to share the 50 octopi with you Tteobokki (Spicy Rice Cake) - one egg -fishcakes included - best sauce ever - added cheese for $4, worth it Next time I'm ordering Tteobokki to-go! Bathroom is outside, you need to ask for the keys.

Yelp
It's been a few years since I've returned to Jang Mo Jip, and I don't remember or know why it's taken me this long! My first visit here two years ago, I remember getting the spicy rice cakes and tofu soup and remember it being so delicious. Upon my recent visit again, it did not disappoint. This time, my partner and I got the KBBQ combo #1 (tenderloin, beef brisket, pork belly, and it comes with a tofu soup). Meats are cooked by the staff, they are not cooked 1 at a time per se, so you get to have multiple types of meats while eating (never overcooked either or too fast-paced either!). This is probably one of the better mom-and-pop Korean restaurants I've been to in Santa Clara. They have really good and refreshing banchan (side dishes), though you can tell they use a lot of sugar for them. They have a great selection of different dishes on their menu, but their tofu soup is probably the star of the show for me - so yummy! They don't skimp out with their ingredients, with plenty of tofu, clams, shrimp, and more. Would recommend getting the tofu soup upon your next visit.

Yelp
I just realized I never wrote a review for this place and I lowkey didn't want to because I wanted to gatekeep because the food is so damn amazing. Their banchan-AMAZING. I have gotten everyone I've taken there has fallen in love with the food. Their spicy stir-fried octopus is the best in the Bay Area to the point where I take the sauce home and use it the next day.

Yelp
Great quality of meat, thinly sliced. The pan chan was so tasty that we asked for a refill. Nice staff, she helped us grilled the meat. Store is bright, a little small and cozy.

Yelp
My hidden gem and go-to place to get Korean food in SJ! I've been going here for years and their food always tastes soo yummy and cozy like a Korean mom cooked it for me. Every single banchan is delicious and they open late too. The deep fried mandu and kimchi jiggae is a must try here :)
google avatar

Yelp
Hadn't been here since the pandemic started and decided to go back and try dishes other than the DIY BBQ. We started with the seafood pancake, and ordered fried chicken, bibimbap, and bulgogi. The pancake was crispy on the edges and tasted great. Fried chicken was also crispy and nicely cooked. Bulgogi was tasty but overcooked. My favorite was all the side pickle dishes as they were all amazing in flavor and crunchy consistency. Once you are served dinner, don't expect the staff to check-in with you on taste and any refills. We had to ask for refill tea, pickles as well as to-go boxes (ordered way too much for two people). PS: no rice is served with the meal, so you need to request a bowl of rice.
google avatar

Kristen W.

Yelp
Love this place, feels like a hole in the wall. We ordered the KBBQ for 2, stir fried chicken gizzard, and naengmyeon. The banchan was all delicious, we kept asking for refills! Kimchi is fire here. BBQ meats were tasty. The naengmyeon was one of the best I've had at a Korean restaurant in the Bay. The chicken gizzard was good, but not my favorite. I prefer the gizzard from Pocha K. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
I'm glad this place is open late on the weekend - we wanted Korean food on a Friday night and stopped by here. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is cozy and service is nice. We got the half and half fried chicken! I think I prefer the regular chicken over the saucy one. Overall great experience.
google avatar

Allison S.

Yelp
On a Tuesday night we wanted to try a new restaurant and we were so glad we did! I tried the spicy rice cake / Tteokbokki with ramen and my partner got the Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) and we got kimchi fried rice. We shared everything and everything was delicious! I would recommend if you don't eat spicy food regularly to ask for mild spiciness if possible. The Kimchi fried rice had a kick to it and I ate the egg with it to tone down the spice. The Tteokbokki with ramen was deliciously sweet and it had a major kick to it, we had to let it cool down and I drank lots of water because of the spice level! Even the sauce for the Korean fried chicken had a kick to it (and it was sweet too). Everything was flavorful, I recommend coming here if you like spicy and delicious food! (Btw there was enough parking this night. The service was okay. It was really busy this night and there were lots of groups there so definitely a popular, well-liked place!)
google avatar

Yelp
I've come here with my boyfriend and also have ordered their food from Doordash. Nice mom and pop Korean spot, with some of my favorite Dolsot Bibimbap and fresh sides! We haven't tried the BBQ, but there were quite a few people who were enjoying their BBQ when we were there, so it could be fun to try this in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
Most KBBQ restaurants in San Jose have wait times exceeding 2+ hours during weekend dinner hours so my friend and I made our way to Santa Clara where we found Jang Mo Jip, a KBBQ restaurant that wasn't too busy + were open until midnight. We waited for less than 30 minutes for our table. Although small, we were very comfortable. The owners were very friendly which made the restaurant have an inviting atmosphere overall. We ordered the #1 meat combo with beef brisket, pork belly, and black pork belly- the meats and Korean side dishes were fresh and tasty.

Yelp
This stretch of El Camino has a ton of different Korean food places. We zeroed in on Jang Mo Jip since they were open late for us since we had just made our way from the A's game back to south bay. This place seemed to do a little bit of everything including KBBQ. They have grills that are built into the tables with vents above but they also had portable grills for tables that didn't have these customizations. There was a waitlist when we arrived so we put a name down. It's a small place so you might end up waiting outside but that isn't entirely a bad thing since it smelled amazing in there from the grilling and will definitely tease and tantalize the hangry. The cheesy tteokbokki caught our eye and we decided to supplement this with a half and half order of KFC in plain and a sweet sauce. This place doesn't give any banchans but they did provide us with a side of radishes with the chicken. The sweet sauce was very red which I assumed would translate to heat but it was more sweet than spicy. Of the two dishes I'd definitely recommend getting the tteokbokki. Chewy rice cakes, a great sauce, a whole egg, all covered in cheese - yum!

Yelp
Arrived here on a Wednesday night around 8:30 pm and was seated immediately with my party of 4. The place was flowing with diners coming in, out, and taking to-go orders. You know when the place is authentic and popular when there are lots of locals flocking to the establishment. What we ordered (Family Style Edition): -Seafood Pancake: Best appetizer dish of the night, teeming with crunch and saltiness from the array of shrimp, oysters, and green onions. The batter was super soft to chew on! Tteokboki: I'm not usually a fan of this Korean dish, but tonight changed my taste buds. The sauce was spicy but packed with sweetness that balanced the flavors out. The rice cakes were super soft and easy to chew on. Just aesthetically pleasing to see the colors of orange and red on the plate. LA Galbi: Great meat item, packed with flavor. Meat was tender, garnished with green onions, and it was the most sought dish after a day of activity. Side dishes: they were fantastic. We ordered a second round of side dishes since we were super pleased with the spread. All of them brought unique flavors, especially flavor profiles of sweet, savory, and spicy! Would come here again!

Yelp
I loved this place! Friends and I decided to go here on a whim and I'm so glad we did. It's a small shop, so try your best to beat the rush. The banchan was all sooooo good. We especially loved the kimchi made out of radish leaves? I think - regardless it was super yummy and probably my favorite thing. We got the seafood pancake, galbi, tteokbokki, and cold noodle. They were all tasty but i'd probably skip out on the galbi next time since the portions were a bit small for the price. All together it came to be about $24 per person with tip (for 4 people)! Definitely coming back

Yelp
100% worth coming here for their bbq, japchae or even their ttekbokki! Prices can definitely be a bit higher(expect around 30-45 person if coming for their bbq) compared to AYCE in the area or other similar bbq spots but they do not skimp on quality at all! Highly recommend their #2 for sharing in a group as their black pork belly is pretty unique that I haven't seen it in other restaurants and has a great meaty texture and flavor (and grab a few other plates if in a group greater than 2) Their Japchae has a lot of flavor and you'd be hard pressed to find anything similar to this. I know this is normally provided as a free side dish for other Korean places but have no qualms of paying the $18 for the big serving here. Ttekbokki w/ ramen and cheese is also a huge favorite(but can be a bit spicy for those more sensitive)! This is usually my go-to with the #2 combo with friends and should be enough to keep ~3 and maybe 4 decently fed. Parking is pretty huge but will admit it can be sketchy looking at times.

Yelp
Amazing and well-priced KBBQ! The pancake was the star, along with the huge variety of banchan. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive! :)

Yelp
Cozy mom & pop shop that keeps you close with your friends. The owners are very nice and will get you what you need. They may be a bit busy, so don't be afraid to speak up for what you need or want. Food is comforting to me. Definitely nostalgic of a warm home cooked meal.

Yelp
I've come to this place about 10-15 times over the past 10 years. I've always referred to it as that place I don't know the name of near the print shop. I've typically come here late night, after a concert, movie, going out, what have you. I almost always order one of the three combo meals they have. It includes 3 different meats to grill, tons of sides, and one tofu soup. The portions are more than enough for two people and you can refill your sides as needed. The banchan (sides) are excellent, like it's next level compared to others I have tried. Another unique thing they have as a side is korean green onion salad, it's essentially sliced lengthwise green onion, sesame oil and seasoning, but it adds great flavor to your meal. A tip on the sides, they don't give you much to start, once you see what you like, and ask for more, they will give you a more sizeable portion. Grilling the meats is pretty straight forward. You can choose to do this yourself, otherwise they will grill it for you as they walk through the tables. My suggestion is to do it yourself, otherwise they may just toss everything on and cook it all at once for you (which I don't like as it speeds up the pace). The bathroom is outside, it requires a key, and ambiance wise, it's not the cleanest most decorative place, but it's just your typical night time korean place in santa clara, so don't' come in expecting excellent service or 10/10 cleanliness. I highly recommend this place and I would suggest you come here with a group of 4 or less, sit, drink some OB and enjoy your korean cravings.

Yelp
My go to spot! I love this place with all my heart! So good, service is ok but the food is phenomenal! This is a mom and pop shop located in an old Korean strip mall. You know it's a good spot when it's tucked a away and parking in the far back. IYKYK! The food is phenomenal! Good quality meat and delicious Korean food! I alway order one of the set bbqs, their fry chicken is ok. But it's a must when you come here! All the side dishes are soo good! I always ask for more and more! Service is slow as it is run by a husband and wife duo! They are very attentive even though this place is constantly a full house! You may have to wait a little but you will always get what you need!

Yelp
After a long day of cleaning the house and house chores, this was the perfect spot on a cold night in January. It's location is in Seoul Plaza. We originally wanted to to seorai restaurant but it was way to fancy and pricy for what we were prepared for. This was just around the corner and so glad we found it. Some things you need to know. It's a small place. Seats maybe 12 parties of 2-4 each. But it's very lively inside and the food is delicious. Be warned, wear only clothes you want to smell like Kimchi and smoked BBQ! The aromas in this place penetrate every article of clothing!

Yelp
Kimchi jiggae was delicious, as were all the banchan. The fried chicken with sauce was okay, not crispy enough. Restaurant was nice and clean but the bathroom is outside and down a strange alley. Would not recommend going to the bathroom there.

Yelp
Truly a hole-in-da-wall Korean restaurant Jang Mo Jip (directly translated to wife's mother in Korean). My family came here so many times but we didn't even know the name. So here, parking is limited for Jang Mo Jip at Seoul Plaza in Santa Clara. My sister drove me here while I was busy Yelping. I didn't know if parking lot in front of apartment looking building was proper. But it was near midnight. All businesses were closed, except Jang Mo Jip. As I walked in, the restaurant interior gave me a true home feeling. Restaurant was not crowded on a weekday night. I am glad this restaurant survived this pandemic. It has not changed much since I was here over 2 decades ago. A waitress came to greet us. She seems to know my sister's family. Wow. Nice. She remembers what she ordered. Of course, she brought us her usual. I didn't like how small the table was. I didn't have much room between edge of table to the grill. As I bow to eat my food, my forehead is over the burning grill. Maybe I need to ask for a bigger table next time. We got enough side dishes and meats for 2. I was full and we had leftovers. Since I didn't pay for it, I wouldn't know the actual value. But the ingredients were fairly fresh and tasty. I would come back doesn't matter to the cost.

Yelp
My friends and I decided to come here for dinner after running errands and it was a great choice! Right when we walked in we were seated immediately. We got there before the dinner rush and it was nice having the place to ourselves momentarily. I remember we ordered kimchi fried rice, pork bulgogi, seafood pancake, japchae and one more dish and it was ALL amazing! My friend pointed out that this restaurant is best when there's more than 2 people because you get to taste more of the menu, eat family style and won't feel overwhelmingly bloated. 5 dishes were just right for 5 people dining in. *parking is limited but you're able to park nearby and walk in *bathroom available outside the restaurant, BIG key provided by staff (if you use the bathroom, you'll know what I'm talking about)

Yelp
This restaurant is located in a very small, and quaint corner lot by the roadside but opens till quite late. You know it's legit when a Korean couple owns the place and does the waiting for the tables as well! A lot of people ordered the BBQ, but we just went for soup on a cold day. We got the beef soondubu tofu soup, and kimchi jigae. The kimchi jigae was sour and really delicious but extremely spicy and will turn your stomach contents red, if you get what I mean... The soondubu was not spicy at all but was really, really tasty and I loved the broken down tofu. In this case, we had to mix both of our soups together to balance the spiciness! There's only about 12-ish tables of 4 if I'm not mistaken. So make sure to go at the right time to avoid crowds.

Yelp
Five stars for the food!! Four starts for the price. We ate so much and everything was delicious!! My husband and some friends came pretty early on a Saturday evening before the late night crowds came. Service was awesome and food came out really quick. I believe this is a family run business so please support! If you are a big eater, this place can get kind of pricey but the quality of meat is better than all the ayce kbbq places. We ordered a meat combination platter as well as the fried chicken. Next time will probably order un-sauced fried chicken as it can get soggy if you don't eat it fast enough or it sits there awhile. They do have a parking lot with easy to find parking but bathrooms are shared with other businesses' in the shopping plazaand require a key to enter. Note: the upstairs restrooms are cleaner than downstairs.
