London’s New Restaurant Openings

"Jang is one of the two new restaurants opening in The Royal Exchange. The plush red velvet dining room will be open all day, from breakfast—Korean fried chicken on potato waffles, okonomiyaki eggs benedict with yuzu hollandaise—to K-BBQ in the evening. The menu takes inspiration from Korean and Japanese cuisine, and the cocktail menu includes shiso-infused gins, yuzu sake, and dragon fruit dust. " - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

This was an amazing experience with top quality food. We were served by Rebecca, Neda and Jose who where all very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant is beautiful and nice and relaxing atmosphere. They even kindly changed the chair for me to fit my preference. We had the sushi to start which was the best sushi I've ever had. I then had the lobster which was tender and flavorful in a delicious creamy broth with noodles and a side of kimchi which tasted really authentic. One of us had the duck which was cooked medium rare as requested and the broccoli which was seasoned really nicely. And lastly 2 of us had the sharing platter and added wagyu. All the meats where cooked to our preference and seasoned well and it came with lots of sides my favourite was the seaweed salad and loads of sauces to try with the meats as well as some rise. We also had some lovely cocktails presented very nicely as well as a lovely birthday suprise. Definitely worth a visit couldn't recommend enough hopefully we'll get to go back soon.

A very wonderful place to take an afternoon tea. This place is preferred to book in advance due to a lot of people. I can describe this place as a romantic quiet place where you can have some of quiescence. The view from up is also another interesting point. The atmosphere with the red colors is giving the impression of an awesome view. Honestly I have enjoyed the experience and I strongly recommend everyone to try and to get some of quiescence. One more thing that staff are so friendly really big thanks to the whole entire involved people for making such great experiences.

We had a truly wonderful afternoon tea experience, thanks to Jaqueline and Rebecca. Jaqueline warmly welcomed us, personally escorted us to our table, and made sure we were seated by the balcony as requested. Rebecca was absolutely charming and explained the menu with ease. She also kindly accommodated my partner’s dietary preference by adjusting the selection and offering extra salmon sandwiches without mayonnaise. The presentation was beautiful, and we especially appreciated Rebecca’s attention to detail—she even changed our plates just before we enjoyed the desserts. Thank you both for making our visit so special. It was a delightful experience, and we would highly recommend it.

I absolutely loved my experience at Jang! Our server Neda was so friendly and her recommendations all hit the spot! The Wagyu Korean BBQ was stunning and we loved that it was smoked at the table and had 3 condiments we could pair it with! The sushi was presented beautifully and the Korean fried chicken bites were gorgeous! Beautiful interior, perfect for an occasion!

TLDR: Service was awful! She had such an attitude we were all concerned if something bad had happened? We were there to celebrate a friends 30th birthday (table of 30 09/08 6pm booking) and overall the atmosphere and the food was good but the service was pretty poor: 1. There was only one waitress for the whole night for our table which seemed pretty poor. She was obviously stressed and kept huffing and puffing all throughout the night? 2. She kept running around our table which was quite distracting and she took my main dish before I had finished, it happened so quick and she was in such a mood I felt like I could not say anything. 3. I asked to order a bowl of rice and she literally said “🙄 ugh fine”. I would not expect this when we are paying £85 for a set menu dinner where service is added on separately. 4. Paying was a very very long process even though it was a set menu? She kept running around and just had such an attitude I was concerned if she was actually OK. In the end, half the party paid individually and one person footed the rest as it was taking so long which is uncommon for this sort of restaurant. 5. Overall, I don’t think her service was great at all, thankfully it did not detract from the birthday atmosphere too much. However, I don’t think any of the 30 guests would come back based on just service alone (KBBQ Duck also come out looking nothing like the google reviews!! Where are the rest of the condiments?)

I had lunch at Jang today, and it was such a great experience. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service made the meal even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely come back again!

Had one of the best meat dishes at Jang, for my wedding anniversary. Saw them through Jolly's YouTube channel a while back. And since it was a splurge-worthy day, this restaurant had to be it. I got the Jang Feast K-BBQ set (not exactly what you think a K-BBQ might be with all the smoke, smell and oil splatters) but a gorgeous display of the freshest and tastiest cuts of duck, lamb and beef served on a dainty charcoal grill. I'd say this was enough to feed three! Each cut tasted exactly like what the animal was bred to taste like -- really clean, tender and full of natural umami and flavour. Even though I knew it might be a wee bit too much food for two, I couldn't resist ordering the starter portion of Korean fried chicken and one of the tastiest kimchis served with oysters in an oyster shell. Appreciated the personalised message on the kkwabaegi plate too. That salted caramel ice cream was more bitter than sweet which I was won over by. Definitely would go back again to try their lobster kalgyuksu. Speaking of which, they're starting a new noodle bar concept for lunch crowds! And shoutout to our really nice server, Neda, whom we chatted too quite a bit!

The moment you step inside The Royal Exchange, you're immediately swept up by its fancy, posh atmosphere. With those soaring ceilings, it honestly feels like you’ve walked into a theatre. My friend and I took the stairs up to the restaurant (got to earn your dinner somehow, right?) and were greeted by a stunning space that gave off serious royal vibes. We were seated right by the terrace, perfectly placed for a bit of people-watching both up and down. We decided to share the Iberico Bossam Tower for Two, which was an absolute feast. The highlight was the unforgettable braised pork belly in a rich doenjang broth. So flavourful it practically deserved a standing ovation. The white and red endive added a lovely crunch, and the oyster with kimchi brought just the right amount of punch. Next came the Lobster with Noodles. It looked beautiful and tasted delicate. Maybe a touch too delicate for our liking, but still a lovely dish. To round it all off, we ordered two desserts that were sweet, refreshing and a perfect ending to the meal. All in all, it was a fantastic experience. Our server Rebecca was absolutely impeccable — warm, attentive and genuinely lovely. Highly recommended. Go on, treat yourself.
