San Francisco’s New Restaurant Openings

"For a fancy Korean-Japanese restaurant, consider Jang. This Hayes Valley spot serves a 12-course tasting menu for $79, including sashimi, kalbi, and injeolmi panna cotta with a toasted sweet soy bean custard. The space leans a bit on the modernist-minimalist side, with a lot of grays and cool tones throughout." - ricky rodriguez

Dinner here was pretty nice. It wasn't too hard to get a reservation. The servers were a little awkward but it was fine ultimately. The food was really good. Maybe some of their sauces were a bit saltier but the way everything was prepared and cooked seemed good. Really fun takes on asian (Korean) and american flavors and dishes.

Pay attention to the bill! 20% service fee is already added. Besides ^ which we almost didn’t realize, the food was pretty good and filling. I especially liked the wagyu strip - it’s so tender and flavorful, probably cooked for a long time as the meat is rich with flavor from the sauce. I liked the cod as well, surprisingly good with the lightly spicy sauce. As a heavy coffee drinker, I liked the dessert as well which is essentially pudding with coffee flavored foam. The restaurant is pretty modern and clean. Not the best area in Hayes but worth a visit!

Spent $150 per person food, one bottle of sake and tips, came home with a hungry boyfriend and needed to find burger and pizza. Food was interesting but not worth the money. They actually gave you a big bowl of rice by the end to get you full. There’s no not expensive sake available. We shared one bottle among 4 ppl and over all was $150pp. I think if it’s $80 it’s a good experience. Nothing really memorable. Somewhat pretty and tasty, nothing bad. Just not worth it. Place also smells like heavy chemical probably because of the new place painting and decoration.

It was a wonderful experience! They've only been open for a couple of weeks when we went. We did the beverage pairing with the tasting menu and enjoyed every single course. The service was excellent as well. We would've preferred the beef a little warmer when served, but flavor was spot on. I believe they didn't have the Gamsa Blue rice wine, so they gave us a second pour of Makiri instead. I remember it having a distinct soy flavor that went well with the consomme.

Ms. San Francisco Real Estate Janice Lee just visited Jang, a new unique Korean and Japanese 12 course meal in Hayes Valley. Let's start off with a Crudo. The flavors were had a Korean twist. The grilled Hokkaido scallop was done perfectly on top of uni citrus puree. The next dish were the 5 piece sashimi - the braised octopus had a good flavor and the king salmon. The main courses came together. The wagyu short rib was the best I've had. It is so tender and melts in your mouse. The mix of flavors were unique. The vinegary rice with sesame and nori pared well with the raw egg. The soy cured prawn, abalone and scallop was fresh and tender. I love having Kalbi Noodle Soup. I like it hotter but the soup was light. Fresh kimchi was good to go with the rice. We ended the meal with a creamy Panna cotta. We ordered a glass of sake and hot tea. The tea was a teabag and was OK. I prefer fresh tea leaves and barley. Overall this was a great experience with excellent service, great food and a nice ambiance. For $85 a person, this is a great meal to go with clients, friends or family. Yum. I would go back just to eat more of the short rib. Mind blown.

Google
I'm honestly very confused by my experience here because it's completely different from all of the reviews that I've read. I was expecting a japanese-korean omakase/kbbq meal as described on many videos and reviews that I've seen. The black cod and the hwe omakase that are normally listed on the tasting menu were both offered as additional supplements on the night that I went. In addition, the kalbi set that usually has unagi or uni rice and banchan was missing, and instead we had some kalbi with tomato rice (???) and one side of kimchi. The kalbitang dish was replaced with chicken broth with some chives which I found very lackluster and confusing. I was also really looking forward to the injeolmi panna cotta, but instead got a melon granita. I did really enjoy the salad with mushrooms as well as the pork, but overall the dishes were not very korean or japanese and definitely did not match the "affordable omakase experience" that was described online. I'm not sure if the chef changed suddenly or they were somehow all out of the regular ingredients on their regular menu. Lastly I think there is a lot to be improved with the service and hospitality. They seem to be very understaffed. When we came in and sat down, neither of the 2 waiters formally welcomed us in except for pouring our waters (but didnt say anything else), so we just sat around for a long time wondering what was going on and whether or not our food was coming. We had some dietary restrictions and I had to explicitly flag down a waiter to let them know before the food started coming. There was also a lot of time in between each dish and we ended up being at the restaurant for almost 3 hours, which was much longer than I had expected.

Google
The food was light and beautifully prepared, especially the wagyu and cod. Don't be deterred by the low reviews. The service could be better to be more on par with the restaurant's high end image. Overall, we still very much enjoyed our dinner and hope to be back when their menu shifts.

Google
Jang is a new creative Korean Japanese hybrid concept from the Mins Group (Sushi Sato, Hakko, Hon, Dento). Their current soft opening tasting menu is $85 for six courses, with a uni scallop hand roll supplement. The beverage pairing is $50, and they also have wine, sake, and soju by the glass or bottle. I enjoyed my experience overall and saw a lot of potential in this Hayes Valley spot. I dined a month after opening and appreciated the presentation and friendly service from owner Tony Lee. I liked the unique menu and thought it was a good value for San Francisco, though I did note some areas of improvement with the execution. The hwe course, with five cuts of sashimi was solid. And I enjoyed the flavorful kalbi tang soup, though I would have liked to see some short rib in the soup as well. A butter seared Hokkaido scallop was slightly overdone, and the sweetness of the uni citrus purée detracted from the dish. The main course was a generous set with American wagyu short rib and abalone, presented alongside uni rice and banchan sides. I wanted the kalbi to be more tender, and the abalone was forgettable. I enjoyed the Hokkaido uni and scallop hand roll, although the rice was not traditional sushi rice. And the injeolmi panna cotta could have used some texture contrast or brightness. A bottle of off-dry junmai ginjo went well with the tasting menu. I look forward to seeing how Jang evolves, and they plan to also offer a la carte and cocktails at the bar.

Yelp
I enjoyed my time here! Food was excellent especially with the wine/sake pairing . The courses were brought out timely and the staff was attentive -making a point to review because it's rare these days where I enjoy the entire dining experience! thanks!

Yelp
Went here for Valentine's Day. First off parking in the area is horrible, however there is a parking lot right next to the restaurant that only cost $15. The restaurant was nice inside, really appreciated that we were able to sit at the bar. They were behind that night due to being understaff so no one answered when we called to tell them we were running late. In addition, it took a while to get seated... The prie fixe menu was $100 pp, think it's $85 pp on a regular night. Food overall 3/5 - My favorite dishes were the maitake mushrooms along with the milk and honey panna cotta. The oysters were a bit fishy, they didn't let the steak rest so it bled all over the plate. So there were pros and cons. Drinks overall 5/5 - They had a nice variety of sake and wine. My partner and I enjoyed what we got plus they let us sample other alcohol. Staff - amazing. They were so kind. They taught us so much about the restaurant and the dishes. They also comped all the drinks. Even though they were swamped. They took the time to make sure our expensive was personalized. Bathroom - I had so much anxiety with the lock, the door can still partially open with the lock they had.

Yelp
If I had to describe the food in one word: salty. Most of the dishes were over-seasoned to the point where it drowned out any other flavors. The one exception was the hoe deopbap (Korean chirashi), which was fresh and well-balanced but that alone wasn't enough to save the meal. Beyond the seasoning issues, our host mentioned a theme of nostalgia for the menu, but it felt like they were trying too hard to add meaning to the dishes without actually delivering on it. Instead of a thoughtful, well-executed experience, it came across as trying to be deep rather than being deep. Service was also mediocre at best. We had to remind the staff to bring our dessert, only to find out they had forgotten to put in the order entirely. No real apology, just a quick, "It'll come out quickly." Not exactly the experience you want, especially on Valentine's weekend. For the price and concept, I expected better execution.

Yelp
- A Mixed Bag of Flavors I had a somewhat mixed experience at Jang. Most courses were good, but there were a few misses. The seaweed on the sashimi dish was disappointingly not crispy, and the raw sashimi itself was just okay - nothing special. The mushroom dish didn't stand out either, just acceptable. The beef in the meat dish was chewy and didn't meet expectations, though the side dishes were a rollercoaster of flavors - one too sour, another too salty, and one that was just right. However, the highlights were the steam fish dish, which was incredibly tender, and the not-so-sweet dressings that accompanied the courses, adding a nice balance to the meal. The ambiance is casual with a minimalist decor, Service was fantastic, making the dining experience more pleasant despite the food inconsistencies. Overall, if you're looking for some hits and can overlook a few misses, Jang might be worth a visit.

Yelp
First off I wanted to start by saying that service was amazing! Every meal and sake was explained to us and it made us excited to eat. We went for the Valentine's Day set dinner and the vibes were romantic and chic. A couple of the dishes were a little salty for me, but most of the set was amazing and comforting, and it made me feel like the chef was putting a spin on Korean dishes that he would eat in his home growing up. The tasting was 7 dishes including dessert for $100. The cherry on top was the sake that was so well paired with our meal.

Yelp
I stumbled upon Jang's page while looking for a last minute place to eat. I was greeted by a lady as soon as I enters and seated immediately. I got the oyster and caviar add on with our set menu. The food was served at a really good pace, and we cleared our plates really fast. I really liked how each dish had different textures. I really enjoyed the acidity of the food, and it kept me wanting more. My fav dish was probably the dessert! The creamy coffee foam on top of panna cotta was so tasty. Furthermore, every dish was unique and delicious. I can't wait to return when they've a new menu. I feel like Jang had better food than a few popular Korean fine dine I've had in SF. I see a lot more potential for them to grow.

Yelp
Pretty spacious and clean fine dining experience priced on the more affordable side. Walked passed the restaurant on accident looking for it as it's tucked away behind a small door with blinds but when you walk in the place is dim lit and modern. Parking around isn't too bad as there's a lot right next door. Service was attentive at the beginning as we were the first ones in there but throughout the night when more parties showed up it started to drop off. Ordered their tasty menu with supplements and would highly recommend the supplement portion as the course sizes aren't as big. Definitely felt full having the extra sides. Each dish was made with fresh ingredients and explained very well. Highlights Short rib: super flavorful and charred nicely Wagyu strip: cooked perfectly medium rare came out tender Black cod: super buttery and soft perfect pairing with the tomato broth with gochujang Assorted fish handroll w uni supplement: this was refreshing but wish it was split in 2 between having ordered the supplement on each persons tasting experience Lowlights: pork belly: a bit on the chewier rough side Overall was a good experience throughout the night as a bday dinner celebration!

Yelp
The first hour we were there, we were the only table, so we received attentive service. They kept refilling water even when we had 75% of our cup full. Once we paid the bill and finished dessert they checked out. Stop filling our waters and didn't clear the table of our finished desserts. It wasn't busy only four people were being served food at the time. We stayed probably around 40 mins after dessert was served. The ambiance is clean and modern. But it feels a bit empty with very minimal decor in comparison to the size of the space itself. The food did not feel like fine dining. Banchan wasn't elevated, it just tasted like normal banchan, but not as fresh as others I've had. Flavor of the pork belly and short rib was average (these were added for an additional cost. The other dishes didn't have a wow factor. It was just okay. Tasting menu was $85 per person.

Yelp
Jang offers a relatively affordable Korean fine dining experience. My friend and I decided to make this one of our TGIF dinners. The tasting menu had seven courses (sea bass crudo, nectarine with furikake, albacore tataki hand roll, grilled mushrooms, black cod, wagyu New York strip and silken tofu with figs). The grilled mushroom and silken tofu were great. The crudo, nectarine, tataki and black cod were good. Unfortunately, the wagyu New York strip was a bit chewy and the jus was way too salty. I really like how the chef incorporated seasonal fruit (nectarine and figs) into the menu. Service was good and attentive. The restaurant itself is very elegant and it's relatively easy to miss the entrance from the street. With tax and tip, this was about $120 per person - it's a good value. Overall, it was a good experience but there's room for improvement.

Yelp
Great new restaurant with Korean Asian flair. Started off trying to decipher their menu .... Unusually super small print left us wondering what was the prix fixed menu. Maybe the thought was to cater to hawk eyed millennials. After taking a picture and blowing it up did we discover it! Several of the dishes were outstanding, 1 ok and 1 a miss. The starters thru roasted black cod were wonderful. The wagu beef was over salted but flavorful. The silken tofu was a disappointment...just off putting textures and tastes. Another thing is the 20% added tip to the bill before even asking...so you can be tricked into adding an extra tip (just be aware). The ambience is ok but lights were strange in that some were warm while others cool in random patterns on the ceiling. It didn't make sense.

Yelp
Left with pretty mixed feelings here. Outside and entrance feels out of place. It's easy to miss, and when you walk in, you aren't sure if you entered a restaurant. They have a waiting area for you to wait until your party has completely arrived. The place is pre-fixe upscale Korean, with a heavy dose of Japanese inspiration, eg sashimi, hand rolls, raw fish, etc. Overall the 7 course menu was pretty interesting, and reasonably priced at $85. If you eat a lot I suggest getting the extras. There was a dish that came with banchan (small sides, one of which had a kimchi flavor), otherwise there wasn't any super strong kimchi or fermented bean paste flavors typical of many Korean dishes. Aside from the wagyu strip, many of the dishes were fish and veggies, so on the lighter side for a meal. Overall I give the food 4-4.5 stars. So why is my overall rating only 3 stars? Reason why is the vibe felt a bit off. The place had a minimalist posh interior, but all the tables are lined up in a row (with bench seating against the wall), so it felt a bit clustered, even though the place has so much space in the entry way and waiting area. The place also had really bad acoustics, and we spent 2 hours yelling over the ambient music and large group celebrating a birthday next to us. Service was friendly, but a bit slow. They were really good about refilling drinks though-- think they refilled my water a dozen times! Given the amount of tables, Im not sure if I'd say they were understaffed, but I think they do run into problems with tables coming in at around the same time. The place has potential, but needs to work out its kinks.

Yelp
The outside is really lowkey so it's easy to miss if you aren't looking super hard. The interior is actually designed/decorated really nicely - it feels very clean and elegant but also modern and with its own style. Service was friendly and explained all the dishes to us. The food also came out in a super timely manner. Highlights: - Almost every dish was delicious. The first few bites demonstrated more of the freshness and vibrancy of the raw ingredients, while the last few dishes had very powerful sauces and flavors to end the night on. - The portions were surprisingly big - i didn't expect to be full after this but i was absolutely stuffed Lowlights: - The final few entrees had super intense flavors (which I enjoyed), but also could have used something to help cut the overall heaviness and flavor intensity a bit. I thought the final entree (the steak) actually had a great balance with the steak, rice, and ban chan. - Did not like the dessert at all. Wish it had the consistency of a normal panna cotta but this one was very gloopy and soft. Overall, I really enjoyed the dishes and had a great time here. Would definitely recommend for a special night or even just a normal night out.

Yelp
The food was bold, beautifully presented, unique yet true to Korean roots, delicious. I think fusion restaurants can overdo flavors or under-season their dishes, but Jang was courageously bold in flavor and balanced. The oysters should be presented cold, it was lukewarm. The vibe can be elevated and improved, feels a bit like a mediocre sushi restaurant but they have the space to warm it up and enhance it. Vibe needs to match the dishes. Also limited selection of sake and wine.. they only carried sweet sake for ex. And wine was limited.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was busy when we came on a Saturday evening. The spot is cute and minimalistic. We got the tasting menu and alcohol pairing. It's interesting...but both the presentation and food aren't at the price point of fine dining. I think they tried really hard to elevate the food, but there's something missing... There were some really great dishes, but some misses. I don't think I would come back for this experience because of the price. I just would expect everything to be stellar. Oh and the dessert was gross...

Yelp
Jang is a sleek, modern place. Trendy, relaxing music plays in the background of each course (on the day, it was like lo-fi beats); there's even a small nook in the front with comfy looking chairs that look perfect to relax in. Things started off with the mulhwe crudo, which was well balanced and had a really nice warm flavor from gochujang vinaigrette. The slow roasted king salmon (I guess they swapped the black cod out) was perfectly soft and the uni purée had a nice sweetness to it. The hwe was generally good, except the octopus was kind of chewy. They also had the same snapper from the crudo, which was a bit redundant. The Kalbi was a little rare but the flavor was brilliant. The soy cured scallop was nice. Banchan was pretty standard, not too different from a mom & pop korean place. The unagi rice w/ egg yolk was very filling. Kalbi consumme was very rich and hearty. The noodles and the radish took on the meaty flavor really well, really enjoyed this one. The injeolmi panna cotta was a bit too thick and dense for me. It's separated into 2 layers, panna cotta and an inejolmi pudding-like layer. The inejolmi was a bit grainy/gritty. I feel like it would have been better if the layers were integrated with each other instead of separate. Service was great and I had a good experience and would come back and probably look to try out the supplements next time around

Yelp
Came to Jang a few weeks ago to celebrate a birthday and had a lovely experience! They serve elevated Korean & Japanese dishes, with a bit of a fusion twist. My favorite bites were the kalbi and truffle oil cured egg yolk that came as part of the main set tray. The kalbi beef was so tender and flavorful and I appreciated that you could adjust each bite to your preference with wasabi and grated garlic. The egg yolk was perfection!! I could have eaten several more. The sauce the black cod dish came in was incredible and I wanted to drink it. I also really enjoyed the final savory dish they served, the consommé short rib broth. The broth was rich but not overly heavy and had a nice daikon flavor. Dessert was an injeolmi (sweet rice cake) panna cotta with toasted sweet soy bean curd. I didn't know what to expect here but it had a nice toasty flavor and wasn't too sweet -- an ideal compliment for Asian desserts. There were a few small quirks / mistakes in the service (only asked to hang up some of our guests' coats, mixed up sparkling and still water once when refilling water glasses), but they're still in their soft opening so I'm sure things will smooth out. I also wish they used a better spoon for their black cod appetizer. The spoon was cute but wasn't a good shape to scoop the sauce in the dish. Small things though! Overall the space had a really nice ambiance; I loved the waiting area in particular. All in all a good experience and look forward to returning in the future!

Yelp
Finally had the opportunity to try a new restaurant. Upon arrival, you don't know it's a restaurant, but I talked to the workers that they are working on the signs. I'm assuming it's still soft opening. This is a set pre fix menu. I chose to also add in the beverage pairing, but if you're a light weight like me, you might get drunk. We started off first with the crudo. This dish was light and opened my tastebuds. 5/5 Next was the black cod. I really enjoyed the citrus puree. The ingredients were perfectly paired well. 5/5 The 5 different sashimi starting from right to left was paired in order. The fish tasted fresh & I enjoyed ending it with octopus, which had a smokey flavor. 4/5 Kalbi: Waygu was perfect temp. I recommend using the salts on the side. It went well. 5/5 Scallop: you can taste the soy. Super flavorful. 5/5 Unagi rice with egg: this was filling and ingredients mesh well especially when you scramble the egg. I was nearly full after eating half. 5/5 Banchan trio: literally everything was so delicious and paired well or could be enjoyed individually 5/5 Supplement: handroll: had the perfect amount of uni and scallop & it just melted in your mouth 5/5 Consomme: probably my favorite way to end the meal. The short rib broth was so flavorful and really satisfies my belly 5/5 Panna cotta: one of my favorite desserts to always order. This flavor was sweet soy bean. It wasn't too sweet, which I enjoyed. If anything it was light and helped clean my palette. 4/5 Overall, I give this a 5/5 experience. Never experienced a pairing like this. The staff knew how to explain the dishes and provided suggestions. The ambience of this place is super minimal, but gives an upscale Korean restaurant. They were playing classical music & there's a cute lounge to sit. Service was amazing & my water glass was always filled before I could raise my hand. I was able to meet the chefs of the masterpieces. Tony, one of the owners was very accommodating especially when I had to wait for my girlfriend, who was an hour late. Such a memorable experience here. Excited to see this restaurant grow. There's also a parking lot next door, which is a plus!

Yelp
-Late review- I came here with my boyfriend for an early Valentine's dinner. I believe it is street parking only and we got lucky with snagging a spot across the street. The interior was really nice and the lighting was perfect for date night. The best part of the experience was the service. The server explained every detail of each dish, kept our glasses filled, and was personable. As for the food, there were hits and misses. We had the chef's tasting with some supplements. The dish that stood out to both of us was the maitake mushroom dish. It had a nice char to it and pairing it with the two sauces made each bite unlike anything we've tasted before. The oysters (supplement) tasted fresh but we're used to having it served on ice instead of just salt. Unfortunately, we both ended up really sick the next day and we think it might've been the oysters. The handrolls were fun to make but it lacked flavor with and without the sauce. The other dishes were all decent but as other reviews have mentioned, some dishes were over salted. Another miss for some of the dishes was the temperature they were served at. A notable dish was the steak which was served lukewarm/room temperature. Overall, we had a good experience but majority of the dishes were underwhelming.

Yelp
Jang is a cute restaurant that's extremely cozy and modern inside. There aren't a lot of seats available which makes the eating experience more intimate. Getting to the food aspect, we proceeded to order the tasting menu and while every dish was explained and detailed, I wish the food tasted as good as it looked. Unfortunately a lot of the items were slightly over salted, and had one-notes of either chili or miso. The dessert which was a miso panna cotta was unfortunately a victim of heavy handed salting.

Yelp
overall: 4.5/5 service: 5/5 friendly & attentive inside: clean and everything looks very new!! food: 4/5; we got omakase course + 2 supplements (sashimi & uni rice bowl). i think the two supplement were worth getting. a bit pricey in my opinion but good nonetheless. omakase courses were very yummy, but one of my dishes (grilled cod) was too salty. my boyfriends cod was pretty good so i'd def think it was accidentally over salted.

Yelp
Still in their soft opening phase, Jang was such a delicious treat for our date night. We enjoyed their tasting menu and decided to add on their uni scallion don and skirt steak. You really can't beat the price point considering all of the skillfully prepared dishes you get. I really enjoyed the fresh sashimi that came with a gochujang dipping sauce which gave it a kick. The main course was stunning with the well prepared proteins and overall variety. My husband is a bit picky but he really liked this date night pick. We definitely will be back for their grand opening which opens up additional options for a la cart items. Thanks for a great night filled with great food and service!

Yelp
Probably one of the best food I ever had. I literally did not eat the whole day just so I can savior every single bite of this course. The owner Jeff and Tony were so nice and accommodating. After I had to move seats they gave me a free drink. Literally every single thing I had was so good. I'm usually not a fan of eating raw fish but every single piece of sashimi I had was so fresh and not fishy at all. And let me tell you about the beef wow melts in your mouth. Pair it with some grated wasabi, garlic, and that bomb ass kimchi (had to get more) chefs kiss. That soy sauce infused shrimp scallop rice wow so good with the creamy yolk egg mixed in. I usually don't eat rice but I had to finish every single grain of rice. The soup wow!!! It literally felt so homey. It was so freaking good I wish I should've gotten more. And the dessert I'm not a sweets girl but wow so so good. I can't wait to come back again

Yelp
It is so tender and melts in your mouth. Mind blown.

Good: Lovely presentation Large assortment of dishes The add-on drink pairing was plentiful, diverse and not to expensive Really enjoyed the first couple dishes including the mushrooms Very filling Bad: The wagyu steak was quite cold when we received it, making it hard to enjoy

Yelp
I had an opportunity to try out Jang during their soft opening and was just blown away. Each dish was not only beautifully crafted, but so thoughtfully executed. Upon getting seated, you'll be presented with a tasting menu that takes you through a culinary journey of flavors. A lot of the dishes were nostalgic and reminded me of my mom's cooking and refined for an upscale experience. My favorite was their version of galbi which was perfectly cooked and the seasoning was so scrumptious. The service here was friendly and super attentive. The vibe was chic and would be a perfect spot for a date night. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday evening and it was fairly busy, with maybe one or two open tables. Still in their soft opening with a tasting menu for $85 per, with optional supplements and drinks. The experience was good, not amazing considering they are still in their soft opening but still good! Wait time in between items could have been smoother, but they were very attentive to needs like water. I wish they held off on giving us the bill until after I came back from the restroom. Food? I'd say absolutely delicious. Great balance of cooked korean seafood, raw korean sashimi, galbi, soup, and dessert. Crudo: korean pear in the middle added a nice crunch and touch of sweetness to the tender crudo - 4.5/5 Black cod: absolutely delicious, tender, umami. Uni puree was the best I've had. 5/5. Hwe (korean sashimi): all the sashimi was delicious, not super fishy and extremely buttery. The yellowtail, king salmon and octopus were my fav. Galbi was melt in your mouth. Banchan flavorful. Rice and egg delicious. Soup and dessert were also wonderful.

Yelp

Yelp
Jang delivers on an elevated modern Korean dining experience. Highlights include the Korean sashimi, wagyu multiple ways, and delicately aged soy sauce. The menu is sizable, and unlike most tasting menus leaves you well satiated. While we didn't do the drink pairing, the extensive soju and sake list seemed top tier. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Jang is like a Korean style kaiseki. Verdict: decent value but nothing really wowed our table. Crudo, sashimi - had a Korean spin but not necessarily better tasting / quality from other Japanese sashimi. Cod - best one biter of the meal Kalbi - appreciate the portion size on this one and how it resembles a full Korean style meal. The soup at the end was flavorful but made me think of the galbitang from Daeho and how that one has just as much flavor, with meat, better value. The lighting inside was dim which created an ambiance akin to ones in fine dining. Would personally like a casual kaiseki / more relaxing vibe like other Korean restaurants but that's just my opinion. Glad I tried nonetheless!

Yelp
I loved my experience at Jang. It was a beautiful meal with familiar Korean flavors but very elevated. Each dish tasted unique and the flavors were clean and not muddy. Their service was also incredible. I was surprised to receive a find dining experience at this price point. Can't wait to go again!

Yelp
Came during their soft opening. They were incredibly accommodating while I was pregnant and gave me alternatives to some deep sea fish that were no nos during pregnancy to consume. Service was exceptional and the food was impeccable. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Loved good amount of the dishes. Very creative and great ideas to integrate into your own cooking! Unfortunately the waiter was hard to understand and not very experienced, which for this price you would think would be part of the experience. Was very nice though. Place was kinda empty on a Wed, they should add more dividers and make the place a bit more private and intimate.

Yelp
Amazing, especially for the price. Beverage pairing unique and on point. Highly recommend.
