Jang's Chimac Cafe

This used to be a somewhat good, but not particularly successful korean restaurant, till it's transformation into a "Korean Fried Chicken and Beer" place. Oh yes, you can order other stuff - but it's not particularly great. Not bad, but not great either. The Fried Chicken and Beer sure hits the spot though - the beer is cold, the mugs are frosty, the K-Pop is blaring from one of the TVs, the chicken ranges from fiery to delicate, all with that classic crunch. Good stuff...

Yangyeom chicken wings is where it is at! Our server was super attentive and polite. They even took a request for some kpop playing over the speakers. Ordered some take out Cheese Buldok and that was fantastic too. The bathrooms are remodeled and super clean. Definitely coming back to use the punch card coupon!

Both the wings, which take center stage on the menu itself, and the bulgogi chicken were fantastic. Round that out with a strong happy hour featuring domestic and Korean staples and you've got yourself a diverse and delicious evening.

Enjoyed the wings and sides there. Took mine to go both nights. Food was still hot, the wings were crispy. The radish, cucumber, and kimchi were my favorite sides. If you are in Austin, drop by.

Excellent joint for Korean fried chicken wings! Their fries and pickled radish were also great sides. Attentive service as well!

I rate this place 5 stars based solely on the Macho Wings, which are the only thing I've ordered in my 3 visits here. They are maybe slightly pricey for wings, but they come to the table blazing hot, crispy, and juicy. The sticky sweet and hot sauce on them makes eating them kind of a challenge, but it is a challenge I relish. They come with a little bowl of pickled radish cubes and the combo is magical. Service is attentive and friendly. There are plenty of wing joints in town with a bigger selection or better atmosphere or cheaper food, but these are my favorite wings in Austin.

Great chicken! I appreciate the size, meatiness, and flavor options. The hot flavor stars sweet and savory and ends with a good burn that may trigger some sweating or a tear. You can choose two flavors on large orders and the sets that include a pitcher of beer is perfect for small groups.
