"This is a leisurely stroll beginning in Trastevere and winding up via Garibaldi to the top of Janiculum Hill. The mood changes from urban at the beginning to monumental at the end; it's a bit of work, but rewards those willing to do it with a unique perspective on Roman history and some of the best views of the city. Best to do the walk during the day, or early in the morning if it's summer. If you're on a tight schedule, don't want to brave the hill in the heat, or just want to get a view, skip the hike and take a taxi directly to Piazzale Garibaldi." - Katie Parla, Maresa Manara
A bit of a hike but a beautiful unexpected view of Rome! Plus there is a lovely hotel at the bottom of the hill to have a cold cocktail at after your hike. :)

Perfect place to watch both sunrise and sunset. It does get quite busy for sunset but since it’s a large overlook there are plenty of places you can see the Sun from.
My friend mentioned that the trees are a bit in the way but we were a 15 minute walk from the hill so it was the perfect location for me.
Barely anyone was there for sunrise so it was a very peaceful moment for me and my friend. I recommend getting there at least 30 minutes early if you want to see all of the different sky changes.
If you’re ever there for Festa della Repubblica you can also see the jets fly over with the flag colors from the hill.

View is better somewhere in the middle. It’s all too tiny and a bit covered by trees on the top. Basically you can see from photos))

A beautiful vista of Roma. We did the path up through the park. You have to pay to enter 5 euros but the path is lovely.

The most breathtaking view at sunset… or anytime you want to feel like one of the birds flying high above Rome!

A lovely spot to the west of the city, not far from St. Peter's and a 20 minute walk from Trastevere. Great views of the city from the terrace, with a statue to Garibaldi and a nearby fountain. Try to time your arrival for 12pm and you can catch the midday cannon, fired everyday since 1847.

Nice walk up if you can from St Peter (25 minutes). Not much to do except for the view, 5/10 minutes and then you go.

Janiculum Hill is a beautiful place in the Trastevere area of Rome. The panoramic views from here are absolutely stunning. It is well worth the walk, you will not be disappointed. If you are there for 12 noon, you can watch the cannon getting fired, which is a lovely tradition. What a beautiful place!!!
