Japamala Resort

We have just spent the Christmas holidays here and had an excellent time. The staff and management were welcoming and friendly. Service was top notch! After one day, they knew exactly what we liked and would foresee that we were served as soon as we were seated. Unfortunately we had not planned well and all the dive centres were closed during this period and had to shorten our stay by a few days, again we were very pleasantly surprised that this wasn’t a problem and we were not charged for the days we had originally booked. Food was great. We all had a massage which was so good and relaxing we felt we should have booked a longer one ! Snorkelling was fantastic and made up for the lack of diving! We went on a fishing trip and caught lots of fish, which was then prepared for us for dinner. We had a truly lovely time here and totally recommend this resort.

Few years back, before Covid we pass by Japamala before, at that time my husband and I look at each other and said we should pay a visit to this resort someday. And the day came, we finally here for our CNY family trip. I’m truly satisfied with the trip, most of the staff here are friendly and you can feel their sincerity when serve you, especially Mr.Naim, both of the restaurant manager and not forget about Mr.Kenny. Food was great. We love their local menu, their kong pao chicken and fish was nice, my daughter had at least two bowl of rice for each dinner. My son who loves western food were attracted by the Pizza and it doesn’t not disappoint us too. I personally love their afternoon tea and sundowners. Having a cup of drink with the sunset was truly amazing. After dinner I’m touched with the handwriting note in our room. We keep both as our bookmark. Well, I certainly will be back again although the 2 hours ferry from Mersing to Genting Jetty experience was not that comfy. Thanks for providing us such a great moment during our stay at Japamala. I value your service 😊

Lovely jungle carbines, secluded paradise beach, tasty food and the most awesome hotel staff we've probably ever seen! After five gorgeous days we left the hotel with premium memories. We will see you guys again :-)

One of our most memorable vacations. Total relaxation, absolute great staff, top food and a most relaxing environment. The lodges are great, top notch beds and the sound of the crashing of the waves below. It just couldn't get any better. Breakfast until 2PM, right! No rush, no pressure, just relax. Thanks Kenny & staff - we'll be back.

My partner and I truly had an unforgettable, nourishing stay at Japamala; the service and sincerity of the staff are impeccable and we couldn't have asked for a better resort to spend our year end at. Thank you Kenny so much once again for your thoughtfulness in hosting us at a Sarang that was closer to the reception for our safety and wellbeing. The food (compliments to the chef) was delicious. The daily turndown service is such a highlight; the chocolates were absolutely phenomenal (I'm not a dessert person and generally stay away from chocolates but I loved them). We also appreciated the laundry service very much. Japamala is truly special, and the people make the place. There are so many thoughtful details in the service and upkeep of the place, and the bed was well chosen to ensure we had restful sleep. A big thank you especially to Kenny, Mike and John :))

A Rare Find That Is Touches The Heart This Much. Our stay at Japamala Resort from 13th to 15th December 2024 was nothing short of magical. This boutique resort is a true hidden gem, epitomizing how a boutique stay should feel—intimate, charming, and deeply connected to its surroundings. Though it was the monsoon season, which is not the resort's peak time, we found it to have a unique allure. The rain lent a mystical atmosphere to the resort, making it feel as though we were transported back to a simpler time. Staying in a beautifully crafted traditional wooden house amidst the lush jungle and overlooking the sea felt like stepping into a serene village lost in time. What made our experience truly special was the impeccable service. A heartfelt thank you to Kenny, Zaim, Amir, Edwin, Mike, and every other member of the staff who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care made us feel like part of a family. Even during our short stay, saying goodbye was surprisingly emotional. We also want to highlight the small moments—shared laughter at the Permata View Point, thoughtful gestures, and the unspoken understanding that our comfort was their priority. These touches are what set Japamala apart and make it a treasure to return to. Thank you everyone in Japamala for giving us such a deep connection to our stay. It’s rare to find a place that touches the heart this much. Until we meet again!
