I am rating this place purely on beer and atmosphere as I did not eat. So, I was in Dallas to visit friends, and while they were at work, I did some exploring. After picking up BBQ in Deep Ellum, I wandered south and realized I could take a street car to within three minutes of this brewery. Then, I saw that they brew my favorite style: English pub ale. As I approached the pub, I saw that it was decked out in quintessential English pub trimmings, thereby solidifying my decision to go (being a lover of English ales in English pubs). Well, as it turns out, despite being an English pub in decor, their beer is truly excellent across the board. I had a dark Japanese lager, a dry Irish stout, one of the best marzens of my life, and the beer I came there for: Charming Ale (an English pub ale, aka ordinary English bitter, not "ordinary" in that it was mediocre, that is literally the name of the style!). All beers were amazing, and the one that led me there in the first place, the English pub ale, was definitely the best. The US is awash with English pubs, but how many actually brew their own English-style beer? Had a great chat with the brewer, and I think this place is destined for big things with their combination of cool, divey, British atmosphere and first-class beer. If I lived in Dallas, I'd be here every week (or more)!
