Jarasa Kabob - Jefferson Park

We usually get the bowls here and it’s just like a chipotle set up. Been going since they opened up at the Jeff Park location and initially the consistency was hit or miss. I think they’ve hit their stride now and everything has been much more consistent. Reasonable prices, fresh food, friendly service. Thanks, Jarasa!

We stopped by Jarasa Kabob today and were seriously impressed! We ordered the mix plate and falafel, everything was incredibly fresh, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The meats were cooked perfectly, super juicy and tender. My husband and I both agreed this spot is a gem, and we’ll definitely be back. So happy to have a place this good right by our house!

The staff here is very nice and always welcoming, the food however leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered a chicken kabobs wrap and the tortilla became soggy with how much sauce twas put. It's like a whole cup was poured in, you can't even pick it up. Not to mention that there was only 2 pieces of chicken inside the wrap. The Tahiti sauce was also spilled inside the bag, making everything messy. The last thing is with the management, the tips go to the owner and not the staff. If you're going to do that, put a sign to be transparent with your customers. It's a shame, treat your workers better and they will be better to. Usually love the food but lots of opportunity to improve.

Ordered the spicy chicken Kebob through Grubhub pick up. It was a Thursday evening an hour before close. Arrived and they didn’t receive the order apparently due to a system issue. No worries, problems happen in software. Got the order prepared relatively quickly but the food was not good and the main protein was burnt (see picture). These were the really burnt ones. Being from that part of the world and a half a century old I’ve eaten plenty of middle eastern food so take that as an expectation measuring stick. The chicken was burnt pretty bad. The Mediterranean salad sauce was good but a bunch of the leaves were wilted so couldn’t finish. The humus was mediocre at best but that could be subjective. The rice was decent and the garlic and hot sauces were edible so can’t complain there. Unfortunately, even if their food may be great some of the time (reading other reviews), there is no consistency if this can be served when their serving dishes have a clear top and you can clearly see the chicken was burnt pretty bad. That just shows a lack of care. In any case, try it out and see what you think. Hope your experience is better.

Oops, I forgot to take a photo because I was hungry and it was just so good! 😄 Chicken shawarma bowl with humus, Babaganosh, olives, and tomatoes. They were not stingy with the toppings! It smelled awesome as soon as we entered the restaurant, and the lunch was super yummy. And the lady behind the counter was friendly and helpful. Five stars!

I used to go to this restaurant's original location every now and then when I was in that neighborhood for work and always enjoyed it. When they opened up this location near my home, I was thrilled, I've been ordering for a for a few months now and I've never had a bad meal. Generally I get a bowl because it's in my price range, but every now and then I'll splurge and get the mixed grill, it's great. Really hope Jarasa has great success here, I really don't want to lose another good restaurant for the neighborhood!

Service is better and more welcoming than fine dining restaurants. Very clean inside, and that includes the bathrooms. Shawarma and the mixed grill platter were perfectly seasoned and delicious.

I'm pretty new to Middle Eastern/Mediterranean cuisine, but I've been wanting to try this place near my house. I went once and came back less than a week later. This second time I ordered online for pickup at a specific time, and it was ready when I arrived. Ordering online also gives you a plethora of options for each dish. The food is absolutely fantastic, and the portions are very generous (enough for at LEAST 2 days for me). Plus, the gentlemen at the counter are always very patient and polite. They even had proper Malzbier!!!

Decided to give this place a try. Food was excellent. It was very clean. The girl at the counter was very helpful. The feta fries were amazing. We tried it with chicken and garlic sauce. Can't wait to try more.

This is such a lovely restaurant! The staff are extremely friendly. As we were waiting for our food to be done, they gave us a free lentil soup sample! It was delicious too. After observing their assembly process for the bowls, I can tell they put a lot of effort into preparation. It's clean as well. And, of course, the food tasted amazing and fresh. On top of that, we didn't eat in the restaurant, but it is beautiful in here!! Marble tables and all new furniture. It was literally sparkling inside.

Food was great! Fresh and tasty. Generous portions. Service was great! Very polite. Clean restaurant! Plenty of parking. I'll definitely be coming back again and again.

New business alert!!!!! What a totally a vibrant and busy place! It's a good thing when you see the hustle and bustle. Located in beautiful Jefferson Park on the corner of Milwaukee and Foster. They share the lot with Firestone but everyone in that lot was there for them. I had the pleasure meeting one of owners Rawan and she was working helping getting out the many orders. It's that hard work we respect and love. Customer service is phenomenal and top notch. Pricing is affordable without compromising the quality of the food. Food quality is 10 out of 10! My suggestion is to get the dinner combos and portion sizes are huge. Come hungry. As for food suggestions: I would do a chicken breast kabob and steak kabob mix and don't forget the lentil soup. Very clean place and the renovation turned this old place is something shiny and new. Congratulations on the success of this place, I am officially a customer for life!! Welcome to the neighborhood!

A new satellite version of the authentic Mediterranean restaurant of the same name in Skokie that gets such glorious reviews. It's hard to fathom why it's not swamped with Gladstone Park customers, who are so often found complaining about no top-notch eateries in their neighborhood! Because we were in a hurry on our first visit and unprepared for the full menu of meals, we got lamb kabob wraps to go (about $9 each). Fabulous! Real meats are carved or roasted in front of you and it's halal high quality. Although many people do take out, it's fast casual with really nice booth seating for dining in. My only recommendation is to improve the dining-in atmosphere by perhaps adding some curtains and other decos and (definitely) toning down the bright lighting. Has a parking lot it shares with a neighboring business so it's easy in, easy out.

Decided to try this new spot where a legendary gyro place had been for years. Glad to see it's remodeled and cleaned up. Among other things we had the feta fries with chicken and garlic sauce. Amazing! The young lady at the counter was very helpful. Can't wait to go back and try more.

So glad this place is in my neighborhood. The food is always good, the staff are very friendly, and inside is always clean. The hummus is best I've had and steak shawarma is always on point!! You cannot beat the lunch specials/prices and they give plenty of food.

I have been to Jarasa Kabob a few times, this review is long over due. This spot is wonderful the food is great. I have had several items on the menu. The chicken kabobs, mixed grill, chickpea salad, hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel, the yellow rice, the spicy rice (super spicy) and the lentil soup. Everything is fresh the falafel were hot. They have specialty sodas, I had one that was pineapple. Over all a yummy meal! You are able to see the food being cooked behind the counter. The restaurant is super clean and brightly light and has cute lighting. The people are friendly and always ask if we need anything or how was our meal. This last time they brought our food out to us. I will be returning and this will be on my rotation of places to eat.

The staff is friendly and answered all of my questions about the menu. The food was delicious. I got a steak shawarma bowl and enjoyed all of the flavors. The lentil soup was also very good. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Jarassa kabob, incredibly amazing!! I love the food there I love how they improved on doing their kabobs and making them juicy, I love how everything comes out fresh!! Despite the fact it does take a minute to be ready but even tho!!!!! This is not fast food restaurant, everything they cook is fresh which is great

Will give it another try. The baba ghanoush was fantastic.. unfortunately they were out of hummus. The falafel was excellent. Unfortunately the chicken kabobs were so dry they were terrible and not much meat on the shawarma sandwich. Also forgot my wife's rice with her dinner had it for takeout .but it's still a new place and will definitely give it one more try.also the workers were very nice.

Still thinking about the cuisine here! I cannot wait to go back lol! Seriously worth it!

Food was delicious. I had the chicken kabob entree. Came with a salad and a side of hummus or baba ghanoush. So glad it is within walking distance to my home.

I went to the Milwaukee Ave location yesterday. I've been wanting a new middle eastern restaurant to open near me. So I tried to order online , but it kept taking me to the Skokie location . So owners be aware you can't go to the Milwaukee Ave location to order. So I went to the location. First it was 2 pm and the place was empty, but absolutely spotless . So clean in side . I ordered a chicken kabob plate , it was pricey at almost 17 . It came with two salads and two sauces. I also ordered a veggie plate , hummus, falafel, two salads again . They offered a fava bean salad, very different . Last a large lentil soup , I always judge my restaurants by the soup . The employee offered a sample of soup , perfect for a cold day . It was delicious. My food was cooked , my order was packed up very well. The chicken kabobs were very good . The chicken was seasoned and moist . The yellow rice was very good , and I do like the chard veggies added to the rice . Veggie plate was okay , falafel needed more seasoning. Salads were good . I would definitely come back for soup and chicken kabob sandwich. But I would definitely go back .

Finally Jeff Park has something new! The food was fresh and the soup sample they gave out was Delish! I know where I'll be getting some soup this winter when I get under the weather. Only feedback I'd have is to add some more meat to the wrap! I got the Steak kabob wrap and expected a little more meat. Very clean and ample booth space for a larger family.

Amazing food. Wonderful, friendly staff. I highly recommend this place. I mentioned it was my first time, and the man at the register was sure to make it memorable. He was very patient and talked through what I might like. His suggestions were on point! My whole family was happy with everything!

Bowl is insane value. Tasty shawarma. They don't mess around with the sauce. Tabouleh is perfecf, lemon notes more than present. Falafel is amazing. Don't trip, pull up here and get fed right. If you know anything at all, you'll eat here for life.

Disappointed. Gave them a chance twice in a week. Waited for my food for so long yet it was sitting there ,prepared, while the cashiers messed about. Didn't have lunch menu available the first week. My preferred was protein sold out both times. Salad bowl was swimming and wrap was in a tortilla. Hala Inn on Lawrence is way better. Sorry.

Had lunch here and I must say very good food. The service was really great as well. Everyone working in top of their game. Quality and flavor A+. And lastly price is extremely fair for size of plate. Highly recommend.

It was tasty food and good prices. The selection was excellent and the workers are pleasant.
