Restaurant Farina – French sun and Polish flavours

"Serving traditional eastern Polish cuisine, this earlier venture launched by Monika Turasiewicz at age 25 saw her devise the menu, cook, manage the kitchen team, and handle deliveries—an all-in effort that paid off, as Kraków fell in love with it." - The MICHELIN Guide

Best polish food, the place decorated and the food was fantastic. You can take any option vegetarian, neat or fish. The dumpling delicated, especially the Russian style and Spanish. They have various high quality wines. The service is just what you need, listening and helping in dish selection. We would definitely return!

Exceptional traditional Eastern Polish food, pleasant ambience, very good service from the young man who was charming but unobtrusive. We both had cepeliny with mushrooms, and kapusta (who knew kapusta could have such depth of flavour?) - the cooking was top-drawer. Our only regret was that it was too late to be offered dessert - very much our fault for dining so late at night and a mistake we wouldn't make again! We felt very lucky to find such excellent food at such a reasonable price and highly recommend it.

Incredible experience through and through. Firstly, I would like to mention my waitress, Anna. Tonight was a very busy night, and she was serving multiple tables at once. I was not sure if I’d be able to get a seat, but she found me a table and was so kind, attentive, and welcoming to me. She truly made me feel at home with her positive energy and enthusiasm, and she reflects what it means to have amazing customer service skills. I am so glad to have had her tonight! As for the food, the prices are great, and the food is even better. So delicious! I’m very satisfied with my experience here, and I’d highly recommend this restaurant.

Google
For a Michelin rated restaurant, the food was okay. I wouldn't recommend it to any friends unfortunately because there's much better for cheaper close by. The staff weren't very hospitable, unfortunately, forgetting to pour us water after asking twice and forgetting silverware. You'd expect more and better from a Michelin rated restaurant, but your expectations will be meh. It is better than anything in the main square, and cheaper.

Google
Only found this restaurant because we were staying in an apartment next door but I'm so glad we did. The price is higher than some other places we've been to in Krakow but the quality and the service made it feel more than reasonable, a treat rather than a ripoff. Can thoroughly recommend the herring starter and the apple pie for dessert. Will definitely be recommending it to anyone I know travelling to Krakow in future.

Came here as recommended by the hotel I was staying at (which is just a few blocks away). Could be a safe choice to try Polish food, especially for big groups. It’s Easter Monday when I came, so they seemed understaffed, but they were still accommodating and did their best to serve everyone. Had a tasty duck dish and coffee before I continued to walk around the area for some sightseeing before leaving.

Google
What a truly beautiful place to eat, just outside the touristy Old Town. The food was absolutely incredible and the staff super super friendly. The pierogi were so tasty, the Bigos and Duck were hearty and flavoursome. Thanks to Viktoria for guiding us through. The home made spirit at the end was delicious. Highly recommend if you are looking for a truly authentic experience.

Yelp
This place is a gem!!! It's 10000% a must visit restaurant! The food is incredible! It's homey, authentic and elegant all at once! It's really delicious!!! The service is wonderful too! The staff is super kind, friendly and helpful! The atmosphere is wonderful too it's a little like being in a warm and inviting old fashioned home. An added bonus is that it's right next to the old town and in a beautiful location. I've gone back many many times and will keep doing so!

Yelp
This is a nice restaurant. The personnel is attentive and nice, food is ok. However, I don't understand how russian balalaikas are related to the name "Jarema".

Yelp
Best was the ragout which is not pictured. Near the Square but local Prices were s tad higher than other places but the service and food was outstanding! Our waitress was more of a local tour guide with excellent English. Her tips made the rest of our stay even better!!

Yelp
Yummy yummy food. I came here because it was close to the hotel, and upon walking past I noticed it is a Michelin restaurant, so that piqued my interest. There is an extensive menu, which usually to me is a bad sign as it's hard for a restaurant to do everything well, but the food ordered was very good. I did like that there was a lot of choices, from traditional polish cuisine to less traditional. As a bonus, there is a live pianist and violinist to add to the ambiance, so that made the dining experience very enjoyable. On an unrelated note to my rating, but just wanted to mention, I noticed was that the waitresses are dressed like the floral tablecloths. Like they looked like walking tablecloths. I'm not sure what to make of it as the waiters weren't dressed similar. Is there a method to that madness?

Yelp
Lovely old fashioned restaurant. Went for lunch and we (our group of 7) shared a couple plates of pierogis, a plate of golabki (stuffed cabbage rolls) and a salad. All of the items were very tasty. Good - friendly service. Perhaps a little pricey but not too bad. Everyone enjoyed it!

Yelp
So after 4 weeks of being in Poland this has to be my favorite traditional restaurant. Everything I ate was amazing the customer service was great and the wine was fantastic. Probably the best red wine I've ever had definitely check this place out.

Yelp
Nice place with good local food. A bit old fashioned- except the waitresses, they provide great service. English speaking, menu also in German.

Yelp
It was getting late and we were famished and we kept passing places that just didn't appeal - so we kept walking past the Barbican to see what might be outside the old city gates and finally just decided to try this place. We almost turned around when we walked in - solely based on appearances, I will admit it!! The decor: Mid-last-century dusty grandma's living room. The other patrons: average age about 75. Also some tourists. The waitresses: wearing crazy long dresses, kind of Little House on the Prairie-meets-Amish nightgown ... But we chose to ignore these misgivings (after all, it is shallow to judge a book by its cover, isn't it?) and trust in the very favorable Polish language Yelp reviews. And so we dined on some truly remarkable Polish food. White borscht (omg it is so good), wild boar with potato dumplings, and golabki (cabbage rolls) with a forest mushroom sauce - exquisite. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly delicious. Wished I wasn't so full so I could've tried a dessert. Put it this way: For small yet artfully arranged portions of *this food* served by black-clad wait staff in the sleek modern decor of a New York or San Francisco restaurant, you would need to book 3 weeks ahead and drop $350 for 2.

Yelp
This place was pretty good. Kinda fancy but i went in there with jeans and no one cared. The menu has a huge selection and almost all of the stuff seemed good. I ordered the sweet cabbage dumplings and they were amazing! The dumplings had caramelized onions on top and they just added a lot to the dish. I thought it was a little bit oily but it was still really good. My mom ordered the mushroom soup and she thought it was very good. My dad ordered a steak and he ordered it medium rare when it was usually rare. He didn't like his steak that much but he thought if he ordered the way they do it usually it would have been better. We also got a side of potato dumplings which were ok. They were chewy but i think they are supposed to be. I wish they had seasoning or salt and pepper. I wouldn't forget about dessert! We ordered the warm apple pie with ice cream and it was delicious! The ice cream was amazing on top! I would definitely recommend the apple pie! (do it warm) I liked my meal and the atmosphere I would recommend if you wanted something a little bit fancier but still cheap!

Yelp
Came here based on the recommendation of Rick Steve's tour guide. The restuarant is decorated in old world country style and the wait staff are in country style outfits. Very cute. They have a huge menu so take your time in selecting your meal. Everyone at the tabel was a little over whelmed with theri offering. We eventually made it through and placed our order. They are very patient with us tourists so don't be afraid to take a little time to study the menu. You are only there once so make it memorable and order what you like.

Yelp
This might be the cheapest michellin recommendation you can find in krakow, but It is purely great. My girlfriend and i are really satisfied with the service, food, music, and the decor. There was a drunk man interupped our dinner, and the waiter helps us out pretty well. I like the veal goulash and my girlfriend likes the traditional polish potato dish. The two musician there were awesome. We were sittong outside but the decor is great. We had 4 dishes and 3 drinks, and that meal cost less than 50 dollars including tax/tips. That was really a great experience in krakow.

Yelp
Wanted authentic polish cuisine and found it at Jarema. The perogis and beet soup with cabbage were excellent and hearty. Very pleasant experience and highly recommended

Yelp
Our first night in Krakow and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing and the staff was very pleasant. We asked for a recommendation on what to order and our waitress chose amazing meals. Veal with Forest Mushrooms and Old Polish Duck with Apples.

Yelp
Good herring the rest was deceiving. The vegetarian cabbage contains bacon...??? The fish soup was ok but nothing special. The potato pancakes was more like rösti.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for a late dinner but not too much and we stumbled upon this gem and had a fantastic meal. We were lured by the Michelin recommendation, and very thankful. Please do not miss this restaurant.

Yelp
Best authentic polish food in town. Great location by St. Florence gate. Mushroom soup-12/10, boar-10/10. Very quiet, good service.
