The Best Bakeries and Pastry Shops in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Although bread is the specialty here (and the bakery mills its own flour on-site), this new Villeray spot also offers sweeter options like chocolatine and a selection of cookies. Be sure to grab a baguette or a loaf before leaving." - Daniel Bromberg

14 Great Montreal Bakeries Open During the Coronavirus Crisis | Eater Montreal

"This formidable newcomer to Villeray mills its own flour on-site, and COVID-19 isn’t stopping that — rustic breads and pastries are both on offer, as are some ready to eat options from quiche to tourtière. Delivery is offered within two kilometres of the bakery, including most of Villeray and Parc-Extension (call in the morning to get it the same day), and only cards are accepted (no cash). Open seven days." - Tim Forster

I have to seriously stop myself from coming here every day. I live just a few blocks away, and this is by far the best bakery in the neighborhood. Their croissants are out of this world—easily the closest I’ve had to the ones in Paris. I’m also obsessed with their almond croissants, choco-amande, and torsade au chocolat. I haven’t even tried the pastries yet because I can’t resist getting a croissant every single time. The staff is always warm and welcoming. I’ve only spoken to them in French, but I’ve seen them kindly serve English-speaking customers without any rudeness or shift in tone. That’s always refreshing to see these days. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a go-to bakery in Villeray.

Cozy atmosphere and kind staff. The food was a pleasant surprise, with high-quality ingredients and impressive cooking techniques. A great spot for a leisurely brunch. Unfortunately, American Express is unavailable.

Boulangerie Jarry is a gem —an ideal place to enjoy a well-prepared meal or snack, grab a coffee, and even get some work done in a pleasant atmosphere. The service is friendly, the food is excellent, and the bakery items are mouthwatering. If you’re in the area and looking for a cozy spot to work or unwind, it’s hard to go wrong with this local favorite. Whether you’re there for a quick lunch, a pastry, or just to relax with a cup of coffee, Boulangerie Jarry offers a lovely experience that won’t disappoint. I’ll definitely be back. Review video will be posted on Tik Tok and Instagram @Foxyappetite soon In depth review: My friend and I, both remote workers, were looking for a change of scenery and stumbled upon Boulangerie Jarry. It turned out to be the perfect spot for a productive and cozy afternoon. The ambiance at Boulangerie Jarry strikes a perfect balance between cozy and modern. The café is bright, airy, and welcoming, with wooden tables and plenty of natural light that creates a calm environment for both casual visitors and people looking to work remotely. There’s an understated charm about the place with its clean design and minimalist décor, making it feel like a comfortable spot to spend a few hours. It wasn’t too noisy, which was ideal for getting some work done. The tables were spacious enough for working on a laptop, and the café was not overly crowded, which made it a pleasant environment for productivity. However, if you’re looking for absolute silence, there’s a possibility that the natural hum of conversation and the sound of coffee being made could be distracting for some. Since I was there to work, I decided to keep it simple and try the soup of the day, which turned out to be a wonderful choice. The soup was hearty and flavorful, with just the right balance of seasoning. It had a comforting, homemade quality that felt nourishing, satisfying , hearty, flavorful, and served with some, crusty bread crackers . It felt like a comforting homemade meal —ideal for a chilly Montreal day. My friend tried one of their pastries, which looked amazing, and I’m definitely coming back to try it myself. Wi-Fi was relatively fast and reliable, which was a bonus for getting some work done without interruptions.

I discovered this bakery thanks to my best friend, and honestly, I was so pleasantly surprised! The decor is beautiful, and the smell of freshly baked dough coming straight out of the oven is just irresistible. The place is spacious and has such a cozy vibe. As students, my best friend and I love coming here to study because it’s quiet, and of course, everything from the croissants to the cookies is full of flavor.

In the past two days, I have come here at least 4 times. I am vegan, and absolutely loved their vegan options. I had their vegan crossaint, chocolatine (pain au chocolat), muffin, and sandwich. There was also another pastry that was vegan, as well as a cookie, although I didn't try them. They were phenomenal. The vegan sandwich can be toasted/heated up, and it is delicious--and a decent price. I had two of them in one day they were so good. The chocolatine, muffin, and crossaint are all very good, and I bought several of these as well. Some of the best vegan baked goods I have come across. The staff are also very friendly, the atmosphere is awesome, there is plenty of seating, there is free water to drink while you eat, and it's a lovely place. Highly recommend if you are looking for vegan pastries/baked goods! I'm sure their non-vegan products are good too, but I wouldn't know!

Google
Their almond croissants have natural grated almond crumbs as a filling, it’s absolutely incredible, one of the best ones I’ve had in a long time. Everything we got was amazing, i recommend the vegan matcha cookie too!

Google
Everything is good here, but especially the cheesecake, which is sold out before the end of the day. But the croissant amond and the little almond loaves are super good, they have good quiche too. And then of course the coffee is excellent: cappuccino, mocha, regular, they make a perfect cup every time. You’re gonna love this place. Just down the street from Jarry metro station.

Yelp
I came here cause I heard that they had vegan croissant and chocolatine. Was super disappointed when I showed up at 10:30and they had nothing left except 2 chocolatines. How can a bakery that is open till later that day run out of pastries at 10:30?!? Makes me wonder. Also the person behind me was also looking for vegan croissant. So maybe it's a sign that you should make more?!? I have 3 stars cause the chocolatine that i had was really good and super flakey.
