First time trying Nasi Ulam (RM12)! As we were reading reviews, we noticed everyone was recommending this. Instead of white rice, the restaurant offers this rice with fresh herbs, vegetables and salted fish. Wow, that was a stunner right from the start. And it only got better.
The Assam Stingray (RM36) was also perfectly cooked. Not overdone and dry like some places. The flesh peeled off easily and paired wonderfully with that tangy and spicy gravy.
A dish that the staff recommended was Ah Chor Ayam (RM26). She said it’s sour, spicy and has lots of garlic. That sold it for us.
For greens, we ordered Sambal Hebi Kang Kong (RM21). It’s a bit different from the ones we have in Singapore. It’s not as spicy but more pungent (in a good way).
Don’t forget to order some local drinks like Ambla with Plum (RM6) or Homemade Brown Sugar Lemongrass with Ginger (RM3). They even gave us complimentary green bean sago dessert!
