HBO’s ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ and the Post-Church Buffet Restaurant | Eater

"A prototypical small-town chain steakhouse whose salad buffet — piled with mostly shredded cheddar and bacon bits atop a few leaves of iceberg, self-serve scoops of cottage cheese and canned pineapple — and reliably well-done, corn-fed steaks evoke the ritual of the Sunday meal. Portrayed as the ‘nice place’ in a town full of chains, it serves as a site of social display and community recognition: longtime patrons feel rooted there, staff are accommodating, and a growing local empire eventually moves from the main dining room into a reserved upstairs private room. Designed with chain-style decor and gift-certificate marketing in mind, the restaurant symbolizes new-money populism — a place that signals both comfort with ordinary tastes and a desire to appear as everyday folks despite significant wealth." - Jaya Saxena

We decided to stop in here for mother's day, we were not disappointed¡¡ We did make a reservation and showed up 30 minutes early and we were seated immediately¡¡ We choose the Supreme option and we almost couldn't finish what was brought out..lol The food had great taste and decent portions per item. Everything we ordered was delicious to the last bite. The grills were changed very quickly and very often. The staff was very quick to keep things clean and to keep the food coming. This is a food experience in can't say enough good things about, the list could go on and on, needless to say this spot checked all the boxes for me We got 3 Shirley Temple's and two for Supreme option. Our bill came out to $122.00 US i feel like we at twice that 🤣🤣 If your looking for some delicious no hassle Korean BBQ then look no further than here¡¡¡ 🫡

This place is good to come as a group of 5-6 people as there is a lot of food and you can share easily. So far all the marinated items such as spicy pork, spicy chicken were pretty good compared to just plain cuts. Shrimp also tasted pretty good, however calamari felt rubbery. The dumplings and the scallion pancakes were pretty good too. As a group of 6, our total came around to be 302$ which is on the pricier side. They did mention the lowest tip option to be around 54$ which I felt little annoying considering we are literally cooking the food by overselves and the staff would take forever to get basic drinks, condiments, cutlery, etc. But other than that, food was good and the cuts came in time whenever we ordered more food and they get 5 stars for that!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem That Deserves the Spotlight! If you haven’t been to Jason’s Korean Barbecue in Lawrence yet, you’re seriously missing out. This place is an absolute game changer for KBBQ lovers. The restaurant is clean, well-organized, and the grills are top quality, which makes for a smooth and enjoyable experience. Let’s talk food. The meat here is incredibly fresh and expertly marinated. Whether it’s the bulgogi, pork belly, or short ribs, everything is bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection right at your table. The portions are generous and the quality is far above what you’d expect for the price. And don’t even get me started on the side dishes. They’re delicious, plentiful, and constantly replenished. The kimchi hits all the right notes, and the japchae and pickled radish are straight-up addictive. What really sets Jason’s apart is the attention to detail. The staff is incredibly attentive without hovering, making sure your grill is just right and your table never runs low on sauces or sides. They’re friendly, knowledgeable, and make you feel truly taken care of. This isn’t just dinner. It’s an experience. Whether you’re going for a casual night out, a celebration, or just satisfying a craving, Jason’s delivers every single time. Definitely a new favorite and 100 percent worth the drive if you’re coming from out of town.

As someone who lovessss hot pot, I was a little disappointed with this experience. I’ve had hot pot from many different places, even at home. To start off, the price is awesome. The basic option is $35/pp all you can eat with meat included. That is amazing! The meat was actually pretty good quality which I was happy about. The pieces of meat are just cut differently than I seen before. They give you a generous about of meat for each order. Everything we ordered seemed to be fresh. The sauce tastes very different from the typical sauce given. The satay/sacha/bbq sauce was sweeter than usual. This caused us to not enjoy the sauce which I do feel is a major key in great hot pot. I want to suggest adding a sauce bar because I know many locations such as Spring ShabuShabu, Kaze ShabuShabu, or Royal have one and it seems to work well for them. Gives more options for people who really want to elevate their food. Next, the broth at first tasted watered down. Until my pot started boiling and started adding my food in it, the flavor got better which I’m assuming is because some of the water in it evaporated. The service was slightly poor, there was not one particular server. Multiple people kept coming up to us asking us the same questions as the one before and it was a bit invading. When we did need a server, it seemed that we couldn’t get one to come over. I understand if it was very busy, but it was not. Multiple tables were open and many servers/staff were there. If there had been a specific server assigned to us, I feel this problem could have been eliminated. I would go there again just because it wasn’t terrible and it’s closer to home than Boston, just hope that it possibly gets better. The space itself is nice and you can tell that it’s clean.

Google
Food was decent for it being our first experience, took my boyfriend here for his birthday but the service sucked. Half the food we were ordering on the paper for the hot pot we didn't receive so what's the point of even asking us? Especially for the money that it costs. No one ever really came back to see how we were doing. If we did hot pot again it probably wouldn't be here.

There are so many great things that keep me coming back to Jason’s! Starting with the owner, Jason himself, he is so attentive and checks up on each table to ensure they have everything they may need. This same level of service is shown from all staff members as well, he has an amazing team! The food quality is great, meats are thin sliced and the veggies freshly chopped! The all-you-can-eat concept for both hot pot and bbq is an exceptional value. For hot pot (my personal favorite), I always go for the Miso broth. Any broth you choose will be great because they are all made in-house from scratch. You don’t get that at all hot pot spots. My boyfriend and I live close by and this place hits the spot. Every. Single. Time. The team at Jason’s makes us feel welcome each time, and Jason even changes the music to our favorite station (Jungle) because he has that level of care and attention to ensure we enjoy each and every meal we have there. I love everything about Jason’s - the food, the ambiance, and most of all their amazing team! My partner and I can fill the hot pot/bbq void in this north-of-Boston area with a quick 5-minute drive to Jason’s! If you enjoy hot pot or Korean bbq - or haven’t given it a try yet - I highly recommend taking a trip to Jason’s to give it a try. I guarantee you will be pleased! 😊

I’ve eaten here several times and it’s always a fantastic dining experience! The waiters are so helpful if you’re new to all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue. The meats and vegetables are never anything but perfectly fresh. I love the wide selection of proteins available on the menu (steak, brisket, marinated beef, short ribs, shrimp, etc.). The two sauces - garlic and sweet heat - are simple and flavorful. When I first came here, I appreciated the waitstaff’s assistance with the grill, but now I enjoy cooking my own meats, vegetables and mushrooms. They are still able to offer helpful suggestions, though (cook the pork belly and beef intestines until crispy!). Overall, I highly recommend Jason’s. Best AYCE KBBQ around! If you have a large group, request the back room for a private dining experience.

Google
This was our first time doing Korean BBQ and we loved it! There is a hot plate/ grill in the center of the table, and you get to cook your own food! We went as a family - my kids loved the food and the experience. We'd had meat (beef, pork) and some vegetables. Food was fresh, high quality, and delicious. It's all you can eat, which meant we ordered plates until we were happily full. They also have hot pot if that's more your speed. Cool atmosphere, kind of industrial, neat vibe. Server was very friendly and helped us understand how/ what to order as we were newbies. We look forward to going again soon!

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised to find Korean BBQ and hotpot in this small town. Came here for a late dinner and we were all too tired to do AYCE, plus they were closing in 45 mins. So 2 adults and 2 kids shared 2 BBQ Combo and a Hotpot Combo and that was enough food for us. I didn't eat any BBQ. I just had the hotpot. The hotpot combo came with 1 protein, 1 vegetable, and 1 rice or noodle. There's a list of proteins and vegetables that you can select. There was a selection of broths and some broths were included in the combo and some cost an extra $4.95. I chose the tonkatsu which cost extra, but the broth had really good flavor and they gave me a humongous pot bigger than my head because they said that was the only pot they had left, so it was definitely worth the extra $4.95. I do wish they had some items priced a la carte on the menu as I wanted both Napa cabbage and mushrooms, but they said they didn't have a way of pricing extra items to add to the combo. There's only 1 type of beef (brisket), pork, lamb, and chicken. So I got the thin sliced brisket. From the west coast, I'm used to having a selection of various types of beef at other hotpot places: boneless short rib, angus, rib eye, wagyu, etc. but this time since I wasn't hungry. There's portions of beef and Napa cabbage was satisfying. I wasn't able to finish it all since I got full drinking the tonkatsu broth. The best part was they came by to ask if I wanted to take the broth to go, which I did since it was so good and I didn't want to waste it. The service was good and it wasn't that busy since it was near closing. Lots of parking outside, but this was a weeknight and almost 9pm. Bathroom was also clean. Will definitely come back for the tonkatsu broth again if we are in the area.

Yelp
I don't normally write reviews like this but just left with the worst KBBQ experience of my life and felt obligated to share my experience so others know. The cheapest menu, which is supposedly "Premium", is 75% appetizers, you basically HAVE to purchase the higher tiers to get decent meat, which as not been my experience anywhere else. And for how expensive the basic menu is, it should offer more than that. The grill is such poor quality, has no ventilation, and doesn't drain well. The service is horrific. This was our first time visiting and we didn't know how to order, we asked THREE different servers and none of them answered our question, we had to ask the table behind us. Half the employees didn't speak english so we'd have to wait until someone did to come by to be able to address anything. When we'd ask the servers for anything they acted like it was an inconvenience that they had to do their jobs. They didn't bring out half our items and brought out things we didn't even order and the service was so slow. The short rib is so tough you literally can not bite it, we had to cut it up into small pieces to chew it and half the meats had freezer burn. The "ribeye" in tier 2 isn't even a ribeye, so that's a lie. The brisket, the dumplings, and the scallion pancakes are very good though. The quality of food is just so average for the price and I'm disappointed our party of 4 paid $200 for a terrible experience. I'd say it's worth it to drive a little further for different KBBQ spots. I would not recommend this place to anyone. 1/5: food 1/5: ambiance 1/5: service

Yelp
Best AYCE KBBQ that you don't have to travel into Boston for. Quality of the meats here were pretty good. We loved the beef steak, pork belly and galbi the most. Kimchi banchan was delicious. The service was good Only complaint was that some of the lettuce wasn't washed properly there was still some dirt on the bottom so I just ripped off that part. Also the tofu stew was so so salty I couldn't eat it.

Yelp
We really enjoyed coming here as we used to frequent all you can eat Korean BBQ whenever we got the chance in California. The place was very inviting and had great variety of meats and other entree/side dishes. There was a hot pot option but we just did bbq. You have a choice of either premium, ultimate, and supreme, where each increases in price but you add more options on top of the previous items. We opted for the middle option and then meats/vegetables came for us to grill. When they notice the grill is getting to black, they come by and change it out. The kids were able to eat at a lower price no matter which option we picked. Like most Korean BBQ places you come out smelling smoky. I wish the place had a little more ventilation, but I went in knowing I would smell like bbq(which is really not a bad thing)!

Yelp
Very good service and very good food. The servers are very kind and clean out the bbq plate every time it gets too burnt!

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing and worth every penny. I haven't been to Korean BBQ for a long time and I was so happy to find this gem before moving away. It was clean and inviting and beautifully decorated with cultural art and ambient lighting. We were welcomed instantly upon entering & seated immediately. The menu was explained & easy to understand and we made our choices. Everything was priced well, including the drinks. The servers were extremely attentive and patient and changed the grill often. The food was top notch and every plate we ordered was fresh and high quality. Their version of bulgogi was my absolute fav! The flavors of the sauces and marinades was so yummy and addictive. We ate until we couldn't, it was all SO good! This was such an amazing meal that I went back with different friends a couple weeks later. Highly recommend! I will definitely be back when visiting Lawrence.

Yelp
This place is awesome! My family of 4 (with 2 young kiddos) visited here for the first time today. As first timers, we had no clue what to do, how to order, etc. The owner Jason, was super helpful and attentive. The other negative reviews on here can be very off-putting. However, if you need guidance, all you have to do is ask and the staff is more than happy to assist. The food was delicious and the atmosphere cozy and inviting. I loved that this is family friendly but also perfect for a night out with friends. We will absolutely be coming back! 10|10 recommend.

Yelp
I'd been meaning to do a review on this place for a while, but I haven't because I know the owner checks the reviews a lot and is usually one of the few people on staff at the restaurant. I've been to this place maybe 5 or 6 times simply because it was much closer than having to go all the way to Malden or Boston if I REALLY had that Korean BBQ craving, but now that there are better, closer options have opened in the Merrimack Valley, I probably won't be returning. I've tried both their KBBQ and hotpot. I feel like this place is always severely understaffed - the owner absolutely does not want to hire the appropriate amount of help to match the volume this restaurant receives. Not sure if it's to save on costs or something, but every time I have been here, it is always one server running around by themselves serving every single table while being super flustered, and as a result, they always take forever to get to you whenever you need anything and when they do get to you, they always forgot things that you've ordered because they're serving 5 or 6 other tables at the same time from pure memory. Assuming it's not out of stock. I don't think there has been a single time I have been here that they weren't out of multiple items on their menu. But they never actually TELL you until AFTER you've ordered it and they bring out your food omitting it, and you've asked where it is. THEN they'll tell you it's out of stock. Which would be great to know if you pick a higher tier menu for more money looking to get that one item specifically. There have even been times where I've walked in and they just straight up told me they were "out of hotpot" completely and I had a vegetarian with me, so we couldn't do KBBQ and had to just leave. No warning online or on their website or anything. I gave this place a lot of tries over a period of time hoping it'd get better but it always stayed the same, so I think I'll just stick to going to places in the Lowell or Boston areas from now on.

Yelp
This place literally tries to short their customers. Servers disappear and lie about items running out. They take their time so you run out of patience and leave. Their prices are way too bloated. I had a server lie to me about portion sizes and items running out only for those portions to be brought out by another server who I asked afterward. Management does not care. This is how they want the business to operate. The only value might be the cheapest option and in that case if you can chase down the servers on foot and don't mind being in there for two hours, it is possible you might get your money's worth. Avoid this place at all costs. Don't encourage this behavior.

Yelp
I've wanted to come here for a while and it didn't disappoint! The premium all you can eat was perfect for us 2 and we left quite happy. The marinated beef strips were great and the service was quick. The staff was very kind and the desert selection looked amazing too but we were too full to get there. The scallion pancakes were different and bigger than most - they were very good! I will definitely be coming back for more. Thanks for a great experience and vibe all around.

Yelp
The entire place is painted black with like gold accents and really nice lighting, so food pics always come out fire. We did the premium set, which is the cheapest, and I ordered tteokbokki. The tteokbokki was nice and chewy, sweet, spicy, and flavorful. Kinda upset there was no fish cake, but still good. We order the spicy pork, pork belly slices, and beef slices. Unlike other place, they slice their beef the long way, which was unusual. But the portions filled me up the same. I do like their one sweet and spicy sauce. The spicy pork gets really salty after a while tho. The banchan were pretty good. I actually ate some of the kimchi, and I don't like kimchi, so that says something. The pickled radish was nicely flavored, but I didn't like the dark soy(?) pickled radish. Overall, the restaurant is pretty good.

Yelp
If you like your meat freezer burned w 65% fat cooked on completely peeled teflon pan this is your place! Eating pure carcinogenic coated meat! Dont know where the 4 star for this place comes from. Ordered spicy pork and it was smothered in spice and didnt find one legit slice of pork instead it was shredded tiny piece of pork they must have gathered from all the leftover they decide to "coverup" in red spice. I honestly dont know where they source their "left over meat" from because kalbi was 90%fat . Def worth checking out if you want to cut your lifespan short by 50+years

Yelp
I am so proud of Jason and his BBQ restaurant. I met Jason back in the early 2000's when he was still working for another Korean BBQ place in another state. Fast forward many years and who can ever forget his smiling face! Jason's BBQ has a GREAT ambiance, the decor transports you out of Lawrence and his style of BBQ, seating, lighting and color choices really gives you that "lets focus on us" vibes. If you give it a try and notice, that the spot lighting, the darker walls, gives you a more intimate experience with just your table. Jason did a great job selecting his quality of meats, type of meats and what he serves. He actually offers his favorites and the story is he wants to share his favorites and what he likes with his customers. You won't be disappointed, because the meats are delicious. Try something new, give the duck a little loopy loop and you'll be surprised at how tender and flavorful duck is on a KBBQ grill!

Gloria Y.

Yelp
The service here is excellent and the food is decent. My concern is that there is no ventilation and the restaurant gets so smoky with all the meat burners going. They did open the doors at the end which helped with the smoke but this place really needs ventilation.

Yelp
Food was awesome and staff is very helpful and pleasant no photos food didn't last long enough for a picture You need to come here and try it!!!

Yelp
We absolutely loved having dinner at Jason's! The food was fresh and it's so fun cooking your own meal! Service was on top of our questions and requests. We were there in December and the holiday ambiance was full of cheer! Music and decorations. So much fun! Only issue was they were out of some desserts, but to me that speaks to how good they must be! Check this place out!

Yelp
We went on a very busy day. The whole experience was ok. It was very steamy inside so the doors were open and because of that it was super cold at times. We had an issue with hot pot (it was hearing very slowly) but that got fixed. Food was ok 7/10. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Overall it was not bad but we would rather explore other places next time. I know Boston area has a lot of good hot pot places, just have to find the best in the area.
google avatar

Kaylin V.

Yelp
The food was very authentic and delicious, so if you're looking for a different food experience, this isn't for you. They offer two different seating areas for people who are just coming to dine in versus doing the bbq experience. It got smoky but that's regular w a kbbq! The service was quick and easy! They flip the meat for you for the most part and set up the food on the grill for you but you can obviously flip it if they're busy with other tables. If you want an authentic korean meal, I recommend Jason's! It isn't all you can eat, you pick what you want and they bring a good portion so just be mindful!

Yelp
Came here for the first time for my bestie's birthday treat with her fam and it definitely didn't disappoint! For AYCE KBBQ (offers hotpot as well), I was impressed. Parking was hard to find. They share a lot with a pub so it was pretty packed on a sunday night. Dining area is cute, we sat in a private room which was a little cramped but it was still very nice. Staff was very attentive and the owner, Jason, stopped by a lot to always make sure we had what we needed. They had a pretty good selection of drinks, and their menu goes by tiers which is premium, ultimate, and supreme. We got the ultimate and had so many things to choose from! I really liked how the slices of meat were bigger than most places. Obviously when you cook them, it shrinks in size but it's still pretty big and it was good quality too. The only complaint I really had was the beef short rib was too salty, not even rice could help. I didn't know that it would come marinated and I find that meats that are already marinated can be hit or miss. For the price and portions, I would definitely come back whenever I'm craving!

Yelp
Our Pisces brother!! We have known him since 2019, Someone with integrity and a very kind heart to ensure that all his customers are always happy with his food and sauces with great company. He always thinks of others before himself! A beautiful soul with a wonderful personality!

Yelp
I've been coming here for a few months now and needless to say it's still amazing and I love it here. Service is fast. The food is always so yummy. There's so much variety to get and options starting at $35 for all you can eat is so good. Their entrees are also delicious for takeout or dine in if you don't want Korean bbq or hot pot. I highly recommend the golden cabbage broth for hot pot it's my favorite! The aesthetic and ambiance is also so great. There's a whole black and gold theme the dishes are super cute and they have amazing cocktails and authentic Asian drinks like soju and makgeolli.

Yelp
Very impressed with this place. They have all you can eat Korean BBQ, all you can eat hot pot, and an a la carte menu. Very tasty door, well seasoned, good variety. Very popular with the locals. Friendly staff, open and well lit floor plan. Dedicated parking lot helps.

Yelp
I went not knowing what to expect. I was sat down with no greeting and didn't know what to do. The music was loud. Most waiters had ear buds in and didn't speak any English. We had to circle what we wanted on a paper and was brought the wrong food multiple times. The food was ok, not worth the money. The waiter kept turning off our grill even when we were ordering more food. We had to ask multiple times for someone to turn it on. Meanwhile, while we were eating one of the waiters started yelling. It was a little old lady who didn't like her food. The waiter a tall man started yelling at her. Saying he would loose his job because of her.

Ashleigh A.

Yelp
Okay lemme tell you the truth abt this place. Food was good. BUT the service? Smh .. the people was nice but they sat us down no instructions, 10mins later they gave us the paper to order.. never started the grill.. then they didn't even give us all the things we ordered, another 5-6mins passed eventually, another waiter had came and put it on. Half way through our dinner the cleaning lady came and took our plates while we still had food on the grill and our second round coming. When we mentioned it to the waiter who sat us down he said "we are closed" as if we didn't have put in our orders already and it was 35 mins before closing.. VERY disappointed that I paid 90 something for just 2-3 plates of meat...

Yelp
First timers. Customer service is non-existent. He was not pleasant at all. Almost seemed like it was an inconvenience that we were there. Informed him that it was our first time and asked on how to order. Again, he just seemed annoyed. Food was overpriced and the Quality is not there. Save the drive, do not come here.

Yelp
Beautiful setting & lovely dinner. Great place if you want to go somewhere thats elegant but also gives a welcoming comfortable vibe. Wonderful service, most attentive, friendly, and helpful staff, including Jason, who is the owner. He is the embodiment of the energy of his restaurant. He takes the time to check on customers, warm & welcoming. The restaurant is located in Lawrence but it's right off of the exit so you don't have to drive deep into the city itself. The food was delicious and came out fast. There was less than a 5 minute wait for our food to be delivered after we ordered. And the place was packed. We'll definitely be back again soon!

Yelp
Great service and atmosphere. Unfortunately the food quality was now great. Very greasy and not fresh

Yelp
We were craving for Korean BBQ and we found Jason's Korean BBQ which has been our go to place for Korean BBQ. This place is always clean, hosts are friendly and amazing. The food and their meat is always great. We totally recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic Korean BBQ.

Yelp
The Korean bbq here is SO DELICIOUS and always hits the spot. I stopped by today and found out they are also serving AYCE Hotpot now too. I got 1/2 tomyom and 1/2 miso broth and it was ADDICTING. All of the veggies and meats were super high quality and fresh. The interior was also so very nice, probably the best decorated KBBQ and hotpot restaurant i've been to in MA. The service is always impeccable. Jason, the owner, and all of the servers take care of you as if you are family. Super kind and very inviting! They also have an extensive drink menu ft sodas, coffees, cocktails, sojus, seltzers, etc. I highly recommend stopping by and trying the AYCE KBBQ and/ or the AYCE HOTPOT!

Yelp
I just left this restaurant. I walked in and the man at the counter told me he had a reservation for 40 people and He wasn't seating. I told him I had driven quite a ways and he should have put something on his website if he wasn't seating people. It was upsetting as I had just checked his website, and had driven a long distance and had never been in the area. The restaurant isn't in the nicest area, both doors were propped open, kinda liked liked like a dump, so I shouldn't be surprised by the rudeness of the staff when I told them they should have posted something on their website if they weren't seating people. He started yelling at me that I think I'm more important. The guy was RUDE. I told him I was going to write a review, while we were in our car deciding where to go for dinner, he came out and took a picture of my car. Like really? Not sure what he thinks that will accomplish, but only makes him look like an idiot. I'm not intimidated and will call out unprofessional restaurant staff and warn people away from dumps. Service: 1/5 | Atmosphere: 1/5

Yelp
This isn't the best AYCE Korean BBQ, but for the area it's not bad. They have a good meat selection, we did the ultimate and got all the pork and beef options. The miso and ramen were very salty, but the tofu soup was good and not salty at all. I think my favorite was the steamed egg, so definitely get that, but maybe skip out on the scallion pancakes. They were doughy and not crisp at all, very floppy. They also don't have vents over the grill which I've never had before so you're gonna get hot cooking. The desserts were good (~$7 each) and a good size too. Overall, I'd say definitely check this place out, may not be the best, but hits the spot when you want KBBQ Edit: the ventilation system is built in with the table it sucks down the smoke directly into the table goes down from the table from the little holes all over next to the grill

Yelp
When we told them it was my birthday they said they didn't do anything for birthdays and then they did something for somebody else's birthday at the table right next to us with dessert for them and everything

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend had our valentines dinner here and were excited to eat Korean bbq for two. We sat down after being silently lead to a table to have a waitress place a piece of paper in front of us to circle for our choices for the meal. The paper was placed and she left without a word or any introduction. We thought it was weird but let it go as they were busy. Another waitress then came and took our paper and 30 minutes later we receive our first two plates of meat and dumplings. We almost finish these and then one of the servers takes a plate with a few pieces we haven't even gotten to yet. Mind you we had also ordered drinks. The whole time we never even got our drinks. Embarrassing service and we were charged $80 for two supreme meals when we only received two plates of meat ! Highly disappointed and financially robbed by lack of service. The worst thing is other customers were receiving perfect service and we were ignored like second class citizens. I sure hope it was not because of my gf's skin color but I guess respect wasn't prevalent at this establishment. Welcomes to us for not making a scene at this disgrace of service and employees.

Yelp
Opened for dinner for Korean BBQ as I know the beef belly, bulgogi and pork belly are my favorite meats to grill. I also enjoyed their tofu stew which was on the spicy side. This place does get busy so parking can be tight with finding a space.

Yelp
Ambiance was nice. Bathroom was so dark you could barely see anything. They def need to either get brighter lights or change the paint to a different color. Restaurant was getting smoky from all the food cooking on the grill pan and not being changed on a timely manner. The food was good overall, but we really didn't get much to try. We ordered a lot of food, however we didn't get everything we ordered due to poor service. What we did try was good- spicy pork belly, pork short ribs, and spicy pork. Miso soup was salty. Assorted vegetables seemed like false advertisement. We thought we'd get what was pictured, but we ended up getting 2 slices of red pepper, 2 slices of carrot, and 2 slices of sweet potato. The kids got nuggets and fries, they liked it and said their fries tasted like McDonald's fries. We also ordered ramen, rice, thin sliced brisket, corn, kimchi, kimchi soup, extra nuggets and fries, all of which we never got. We were there on a Wednesday and there was only one server. It was quite busy and he couldn't keep up with the demands of the customers. Someone from the kitchen had to come out and help, though it wasn't much help. Idk if the kitchen couldn't keep up or the server couldn't keep up. Anyway, I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
This is my new favorite Korean BBQ restaurant north of Boston. I used to go to Sura in Medford, but stopped going when I noticed the quality of ingredients began to get worse and worse at Sura's. I am very glad to have discovered Jason's KBBQ. They offer three "tiers" of menus to choose from: premium ($38.95), ultimate ($46.95), and supreme ($55.95). It is a little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for: an impressive variety of meat, veggies, and sides! All quality ingredients. Excellent service. Trendy place/decor. Highly recommend the scallion pancakes.

Yelp
Went there a few weeks ago with a friend. The parking lot was packed as usual, but the restaurant itself was rather empty around 6pm. Our waitress let us in through the 2nd entrance and sat us done. It wasn't a big deal, but was kind of weird that she was sucking on a lollipop while working. The meal tiers were broken up into thirds. I went with the basic tier because we weren't too hungry, but enjoyed the marinated beef the most. Also surprised that the spicy chicken was ACTUALLY spicy for once! The dumplings was very small, I suggest ordering one for each person there. Besides a few meats, the rest of the final, most expensive tier could probably be lumped into the first tier. I'm told they are working on their alcohol license as well. I wasn't given any beverage menu, only settled for Thai iced tea when I saw guests in front of me order it. Almost forgot, the service is different than the prior location. Old location, you can get up and get your sides and other items like rice yourself from the buffet. Here, you are brought everything as you order. In summary, I'll go to Jason's for the convenience of it being closer to home than the other usual spots I frequent. On the other hand, other restaurants break the tiers in 2 and prices are a little bit less.

Yelp
Favorite local spot! We usually go there with the strategy of eating thin meats first, then work through veggies, order more meats before we bring the carbs. Always delicious, and we will eventually crack the code for the dream sequence to have as many dishes as possible without waste!

Yelp
This is the closest KBBQ to me. The food is decent for the AYCE prices. I wish there were more variety in their banchan dishes. The pickled daikon was extremely mushy! I'm used to it being crunchy. Steamed egg is delicious and flavorful and so was the ribeye, beef, pork belly, chicken, shrimp, etc. The corn is so bland and boring. I wish they'd add cheese to it like other kbbq spots. Service is also very friendly and attentive. One downside, I wish they'd change the lighting and dim them a bit. It is so insanely bright that I feel like I'm at a salon or something.

Yelp
This place became completely ripped off. Cheap low grade foods Ribeye steak wasn't even ribeye it was some cheap end butt or something!! Couldn't even chew to swallow!! Worst then Chinese buffets. I will not go back there AGAIN ! So disappointed We've been coming here since open

Yelp
I don't really like to leave bad reviews. But I have to do it this time. I chose hot pot and the food is ordinary. After the front desk person showed me the seat and left a menu to me, no waitress or waiter come to me to ask me to order anything. After I was waiting for 15 mins, I had to run to the front desk to get him to help me order. The food and the pot came quick. The pot did not start to boil. At the beginning I thought it was due to the size of the pot. But after about 20 mins I found they did not start the fire for me. So I tried to start it by myself and there was no fire at all. During this time, I could not find any waitress or waiter in the whole store (it was around 6:40pm). So I went to the restroom and found a waitress who was sitting outside of the restroom and playing her phone. I told her what's going on and she found the fuel bottle was empty. It took me about 1 hour to have the food ready to eat since I stepped into the restaurant. During my whole eating, no one came to me to ask if I need anything. As it was AYCE and we needed to order the food, so I asked the waitress who was sitting outside of the restroom to give me a manual and I wanted to order a second round. She told me she could only speak Spanish. Btw, the restroom was dirty and water was leaking from the ceiling. Terrible experience overall.

Yelp
If you are hungry, do not go here. It's not the best Korean bbq. Selection is minimal. The quality of food was not great. 5 people for dinner, and you order baby octopus, and they give you 4 pieces. Common sense would tell you 1 piece each. Ordered 2 ribeye, and they bring just 1 again for 5 people. Grill was not hot enough to cook the food in a timely manner. We did not eat $46 worth of food per person. Desserts were the best part of the meal, and that's not included in the meal price.

Yelp
Jason and his entire establishment are phenomenal!! the ambiance, the staff, the food, and even the dinnerware are incredible!! 20/10! My guest was GF and Jason himself went so far out of his way to make his experience wonderful and safe!

Yelp
Horrible Korean food. Service also the worst. Tried a second time and had worse experience. Never going back. Also, to add insult to injury, the urinal was out of order and there was a long line for the men's bathroom.

Chantay S.

Yelp
The ambience is great, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. It's not the full Korean barbecue experience as they don't give you everything to make 쌈 (ssam) but we still had a great experience.

Yelp
The music is simply too loud in this place, and it needs to calm down. I love the food.

Yelp
My friend and I wanted a local culinary adventure and we'd never tried Korean BBQ. We were BLOWN AWAY! The restaurant has an elegant, modern yet casual decor. The music playing was atmospheric and the service was excellent. We were told how to order, our server made suggestions, and right away we were given a carafe of water and a salad with toppings to build our own. We loved the ceremony of it all..the grill, the choices, the pace, getting to decide what we wanted to cook first, etc. The quality of the meat was exceptional. The ramen and the pork belly were insanely good. Keep in mind, you will get charged for leftovers, so be mindful of how much you order and what you can REALLY eat in two hours. Also, I would skip the buttered corn option. I was expecting a cob that I could grill but it was a small foil packet of bland corn instead. We did not have drinks but they looked amazing! The desserts were all frozen with good gelato quality and flavors. I cannot wait to come back and bring a big group of friends! Thank you Jason and staff. Outstanding!
