Jasper's Italian Restaurant

Our friends took us to Jasper's for a lovely evening. We had never been before, though we had had lunch at Marco Polo next-door. They have been patrons of Jasper's for over 40 years. They love the place! Our wonderful server was Hannah. She was delightful and I would encourage you to ask for her whenever you dine at Jasper's. We all shared the table side mozzarella, which was amazing! Check out my video to hear all about it and watch it being made. My wife had angel hair and meatballs and she loved it! She brought some home because the serving was very large. We both had Caesar salads before our round trays, which were very good. Next time I will order extra anchovies because they were a little light. I always order lasagna the first time I go to an Italian restaurant because if they can do that right, chances are everything else will be decent. Their lasagna is made with sausage. I I'm always interested to see what the sausage tastes like because I don't like weird ones. Jasper's is perfect. Our friend had the Pope John XXIII, which looked amazing and he loved. I will order that next time if they have it. It's a spring special. We had grandma's chocolate cake for dessert which all of us liked. It's a little bit loud inside the restaurant but only because it's so crowded and busy because it's so wonderful. We didn't let that bother us during our three hour plus dinner. We just talked a little louder I suppose. My wife and I can't wait to return to Jasper's! It's a delightful place and we are impressed.

We had dinner here and absolutely loved it—the place is beautiful, the staff is warm and attentive, and the food is outstanding. Classic favorites like the chicken salad sandwich and crab cakes never disappoint, making it a spot we’ll keep coming back to.

My wife and I went for our first time tonight and it will be our last time as we had a laughably bad experience. I had made reservations in advance so we were seated immediately but once seated we were ignored by all waitstaff despite the tables surrounding us being served and my attempts at making eye contact with waitstaff. We watched another couple get seated near us and greeted by their waiter while we were still ignored. We gave it 20 minutes of waiting before I flagged down the waitress serving most of the tables near us, asking if she knew who was supposed to be caring for our table because we had not had anyone even bring us water yet. The waitress acted surprised and said that she could take care of us, brought us water and left. Almost immediately after another waiter came up to our table trying to clarify a question on "our order," I let him know he had the wrong table as we had not gotten a chance to order yet, turned out it was for the other couple that had gotten seated after us. We were then each brought a piece of hard, but warm bread. We did have to request butter which was clearly taken directly from the refrigerator as it was rock hard and impossible to spread. When we're able to order, we ordered the table side mozzarella (or so we thought) and my wife and I each ordered a pasta entree. I watched our waitress write down the whole order yet we never got our table side mozzarella (but the other couple seated after us got table side mozzarella). I got the Rigatoni alla Vodka and added grilled chicken for an extra $7; the pasta and sauce were good but the 14 small chunks of dry chicken with a weird aftertaste brought down the quality of the dish. My wife ordered the Jasper's Classic Italian with angel hair pasta, marinara sauce and added 2 meatballs; though the sauce would be better described as a watery juice. As we ate we both noted that our pasta was cold toward the final bites and this was not due to us taking a too long to eat as we both decided we were finished within about 15 minutes. When we got our check notably the table side mozzarella was not listed, even though I watched the waitress write it down as we originally ordered it. On our way out I checked with the hostess stand to see whose section we were seated in and it turns out that it was Hannah, the waitress that I had to flag down because no one had acknowledged us, including her. We skipped out on staying for dessert because we didn't feel the need to be even further disappointed and instead went to Andy's down the street for ice cream which was the highlight of the evening's meal. All in all this was a bad, overpriced experience and we won't be back. A note on atmosphere, there was a table next to us that was dirty prior to us being seated. It was never bussed during the entirety of our time there and as surrounding tables in our section emptied they also remained uncleared of their dirty dishes. Edit: Jasper found my wife and I on Facebook and personally messaged both of us. He apologized for our experience and offered us a $150 gift card and his personal cell number in attempt to guarantee an improved experience and in return he asked for us to remove our reviews. We declined his offer.

We enjoyed our time together for dinner at Jasper’s. It was popular that Saturday evening, yet we could still hear each other’s talk. I was the only newbie at our table. We ordered the Caprese Salad, where a server comes to your table to make fresh mozzarella, slice heirloom tomatoes, and serve it on a plate with a balsamic glaze. Delicious and entertaining. We enjoyed our meals. I ate the eggplant. I recommend Jasper’s for their food and festive atmosphere.

My Wife and I went on a Date night to Jasper's, not knowing what to expect. Well it was a wonderful experience, the staff was extremely friendly and took great care of us while we were there. Oh and course, there was the food! It was great! My Wife had the Chicken Parmesan and I had the Lasagna. Both were excellent, as was the Bruschetta, the Italian Sausage and Limoncello!

My husband and I visited this establishment recently. The hostess set us in the most beautiful seat right next to the creek and it was adorable. Our waiter came over promptly and was very knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurants overall offerings. He made suggestions after we informed him it was our first visit. The bread and butter were delectable and our salad 🥗 with blue cheese crumbles was AMAZING! If you get the salad please by all means get the blue cheese crumbles - it truly elevates it. When we received our drinks our water glasses had large cracks in them and I noticed other diners mentioning this. I believe more attention to detail is needed in that regard. My husband ordered Shrimp 🍤 Fettuccine and Sausage and Peppers and he enjoyed it for the most part. He stated the pasta on the fettuccine was actually "crunchy" in places. It was a bit too "al dente". I ordered the Chicken 🐔 Parmesan. The waiter (Thaddeus) raved about it but I thought it was just okay. The chef/owner (not sure) came out to check on us and our food experience, which was really nice and helped to set a nice tone for the rest of the meal. I noticed the waiter being much more accommodating with other diners, explaining the seasonal options pertaining to food and cocktails. He also explained the mozzarella showcase option offered prior to the meal, if desired. Totally not worth it in my opinion and it's quite pricey for what it is. This was kind of a disappointment for us and honestly left us feeling under appreciated as customers. It also took an extensively long time to bring our check after we requested it. At the end of the meal they bring a dessert cart around and it feels like a high pressure sell event. We really didn't appreciate that. The price point is pretty moderate for this type of food. Would I return? Probably not, if I did it would be as a "carryout" customer for that wonderful salad and the bread 🍞 and butter 🧈.

Food was unfortunately underwhelming for us, but the atmosphere was fantastic. First impressions are huge, and the fact that it took our waiter over 10 minutes to even greet us was not a great one. We started off with the calamari which fell apart while trying to eat. The breading did not stick to the squid at all—it was a crumbly mess. The squid was also very chewy. Not good. Caesar salads were enjoyed by all. Great dressing and portion size. Bread was hard and flavorless. Lasagna was enjoyed by my husband, but I don’t eat sausage, so I couldn’t try it unfortunately. I was sad the only lasagna option had sausage in it. Chicken parm had a good flavor, but they were pretty stingy on the sauce and pasta that came with it. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the marinara sauce and the noodles were a little too al dente for my preference. My husband was not at all impressed with the chicken parm nor was another diner at our table. One of our guests really enjoyed the Marco Polo chicken. They bring around a beautiful dessert tray that was impossible to avoid. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with the apple strudel. I appreciate being able to get a visual of the desserts, but having them on a menu with listed ingredients would’ve been helpful because had I known there were raisins, I would not have ordered! My friend got the strawberry cake which I was excited to try until I learned it had coconut on it. We wanted to love this place, but the food just didn’t justify the prices for us, so we are probably a one and done here!

This is my favorite restaurant in KC, maybe the USA. It’s always delicious, they literally treat you like family, and the setting is super nice. The wine is top notch and even have fancy drinks for my kids. My wife loves to go here as well so that is always a good night for me.

One night I was really hungry and it was late so I was trying to figure out something to eat around this area in Kansas City when I came across this restaurant. I ended up ordering the nachos for pick up and I took it back home and I was pleasantly surprised!!!! Ordering was super easy and straightforward on the website and the food was delicious and fresh. I will definitely be going back and this might be my late night spot when everything else is closed.

Ya'll.. when your world is crazy and you're not sure what's next, you can rely on Jasper's. They're consistent in that they hit the mark EVERY SINGLE TIME I just want to thank Jasper's for keeping my foodie hopes and dreams alive.. knowing that one restaurant in this dreary food desert of a city can be a beacon. A beacon that shines on a hill. While everyone else is raving about some spaghettios that some guy mixed once and topped with a gold leaf.. (makes me wanna cry) I look no further than to Jasper's to make me remember that good food does exist. And there's no reason to cry.. not when Jasper's mozzarella theatre exists. (Also their entire menu). So when you're tired of eating mediocre food, remember that Jasper will be waiting for you to run home with a home cooked meal. Thank you Jasper's I love you

Food was great! Service was quick and responsive. Ambiance was just okay but the food really made up for it! Would come here again.

My family went out for a nice celebratory dinner, and Jasper's was perfect for it. The service was great, and the food and drinks were visually striking and delicious. The dessert cart with all of the options is especially cool and fun.

Had several people look straight at us and walk past after we were told the bar was open seating. Didn't get greeted at all and just left after about 10 minutes, as it was clear they didn't care we were there. Disappointing because the food looked good.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in KC! It never disappoints. The service is fantastic, as well as the food. Even Jasper is out helping his employees and greeting tables. My favorite dish is the Capelli D'Angelo Alla Nanni. It has great flavor and it's a large portion. Do yourself a favor and go here! You won't be disappointed.

Had a solidly mid meal at Jasper's last week. As always service was good and the "performance" of the table side mozzarella was good. Ultimately I just don't think my meal was a good value. Part of it was on me but I still thought food was disappointing for the cost. The table ordered the table side mozzarella before I arrived. I didn't realize they charge $12pp. Which I get that they have to make more for more people, and then it's on me that I didn't pay attention that there was a cost per person, but they made $84 on mozzarella and tomatoes at my table. As I said the performance was good and the mozzarella and tomatoes were good quality but they didn't season the tomatoes at all, aside from the balsamic glaze. Very basic cookery mistake and we just had one salt shaker at the table so we were having to pass up and down the table. I got the nonna pasta and while the flavors were fine, it's clear it was sitting under a heat lamp long enough for the sauce to coagulate. Everyone else's meals looked basic as well. Not realizing I was spending money on the mozzarella, I was tempted by the very attractive dessert cart and ordered the chocolate tartufo, and wow, what a poor dessert. It was vanilla ice cream, rolled in Oreo crumbs, and covered with Hershey's syrup. With reddiwhip and a prepared cherry sauce on the side. I could make that at home, buying all the ingredients for less than what I spent in the restaurant, which was $9. Embarrassing. So going into the evening I thought I'd be spending about $35, but ultimately I ended up spending $65 including tip on what I thought was very basic, one step above Olive Garden, Italian food. Again the service is good. The restaurant is attractive, though probably could use a renovation. It was clear to me that Jasper's is running on its reputation and not on the actual quality of the food.

First time in for a friends birthday. It's Fazzoli's trying to be fancy. I had the Linguini Fra'Diavolo. The only spice was the red pepper flakes. The marinara was some of the sweetest I've ever had. Not good at all. The waiter was a cocky kid training another guy who should have been the waiter. When he did come to our table it was a rush and at dessert he said "listen up I'm only going to say this once". I said excuse me. He adjusted his attitude. Kid shouldn't be working the service industry. We were in the far back room on the right 11/21/24 at 6:30. I won't be back.

Jasper's is one of my favorite Italian places in the area. I got the fettuccini alfredo and my mom got the Scampi Livornese. The service was wonderful and our server was very patient and helpful. The ambiance is always lovely and I can't wait to come back!!

Our first time here for a birthday dinner. The restaurant was cozy and comfortable! Our waiter was okay. We had to ask for refills but they were busy! The bread they served prior to our meals was great! All the rolls were warm and soft! However, our meals left more to be desired. While the flavor was okay, the temperature of the food was subpar. It was room temperature and that was disappointing. My sauce had almost congealed due to maybe the temperature and sitting for a while? We paid $6 for extra chicken, but it was maybe an ounce? The pieces were cut up and mixed in. Anyways, we left somewhat disappointed but would be willing to try again.

We had a party of 5 and 3 of us had never been to this restaurant. When we all arrived, we were told by the hostess, whom was not that polite, that the dining room was closed for a private event. Then she said that we could eat in the deli restaurant that they have. Since we all were already there and hungry we did. The girls working there were awesome. The food though, was subpar. They had a meatball on displayed the size of a baseball. So thinking that's what I would get,that's what I ordered. I also ordered the minestrone soup. The soup was bland and tasted like vegetable soup. Needless to say, I will never be back

Went to Jaspers with a friend. We got the burrata for an app and it was delicious. It came with a fig jam and some greens. I had the Tortellini Romano and it was very delicious. I would get it again. The server was kind and attentive.

This legendary place serves up some of the best Italian fare in the Midwest. Chef Jasper Mirabile and his crew have curated his folks authentic Sicilian recipes from the 40s and 50s and given each of 'em their own culinary spin. From the minute you walk in, it's like being immersed in a big ol' Italian family. The vibes are comforting and inviting and the food is flavorful and filling. Hands-down, his famed shrimp livornese is the best thing on the menu. I could bathe in that sauce. But his award-winning lobster bisque is a close second. (Fun fact: Chef Jasper is one of only a handful of restaurants in the country that also feature Shrimp DeJonghe. But ... shhh ... it's only on Jasper's secret menu and only available if he's there.) If you don't save room for his homemade desserts, well ... that's on you. His dessert cart is almost as famous as he is. (Get the coconut cake. Full stop.) The thing I love best about this place is the sheer tradition and spectacle of Jasper's. I've been going here (and raving about this restaurant) for decades. Jasper never ceases to amaze me with his hospitality and graciousness. It's a Kansas City staple ... and we're lucky to have him.

Ive read on social media that most people either love jaspers or dislike it- with not a lot of in between. We had a good time, but my parents used to own an Italian restaurant and I am quite picky. Best thing was the tiramisu- probably best I've had. I asked the deli next door if they sell it and they do for $6 each so if I need a fix I can get it there. Our waitress was prompt and nice. They definitely have a lot of regulars because you can hear them talking to owners or servers like family. Jasper qnd his brother walk around talking to every table. I think that's how they have such a great following- they make everyone feel like family. We got two cocktails. I didn't like mine and they made it into a spritzer and I still didn't like it but I didn't want to be annoying and just drank it. We shared two entrees. The house salad was delicious- but was kind of deceiving to ask if we want blue cheese and then for both that was an extra $4.50! The veal piccata was OK. Definitely not that great. Green beans with it were fine- they tasted like they might be frozen? Then we got the special and honestly I cannot remember the name but it had peas and prosciutto and cream sauce. My husband tasted it and was like the noodles are crunchy. He's not one to ever complain at all restaurant, so I tasted them and I was like yeah that's not al dente that's just plain undercooked pasta. We told our server and they sent another out that was cooked perfectly. The sauce was perfect. I am VERY picky about cream sauce and it was perfect. I would probably order that if I came again. Our server offered us dessert on the house because of the undercooked pasta trouble and that was nice. The ambiance is amazing, it looks very a fancy. I like how it was a half circle booth so we could sit next to each other. I just wasn't blown away by the food, and for 5 stars I need to be like wow this is awesome. It was alright, and would maybe bring someone here who wanted Italian, but it's not a top choice with all of the restaurants choices in KC.

This was my second time eating at Jasper's. It's known for its service, food and reputation as long standing locally owned restaurant. I made a reservation on their website a week prior. Did not receive an email or text confirmation. I called the day of to confirm my reservation and it took them a minute to discover my 'online' reservation. These people are still functioning in the 1980's. We were sat in the back sunroom. I wish I would have asked for a table in the restaurant. The sunroom has no atmosphere. We sat for about 8 minutes before a very rushed server splashed water in our glasses and asked us if we wanted cocktails. We ordered the old fashioned and martini Rosa. I'm convinced my 'martini' had zero alcohol in it. We ordered two appetizers-the lobster bisque and bruschetta. The bisque was decadent but had a flavor profile that almost tasted like dessert. It was odd. The bruschetta was good. Unlike our server. He was so rushed the entire evening he gave me anxiety as he practically ran everywhere he went. He was rude and barely had time for us. We almost decided to leave. I think he realized we were getting offended by his abrupt service. He tried to start a repoire with us but he struck out. He said he'd bring us bread and never did. There were butter and bread plates on the table. We ordered cannoli and lasagna for our entrees. They were both disappointing. The lasagna was gross. It was covered in a bright red tomato sauce that had no seasoning. It was like someone opened a can of sauce and ladled it over the lasagna. The lasagna was mushy and gray. The cannoli was supposed to have sausage but my husband only found two small pieces in the three cannolis. Dessert is my favorite course! They bring this cart that has probably 12 desserts. I chose the strawberry cake. Again, it was so mediocre. Very little flavor, the cake had so many air pockets, it was over mixed and dry. It was so disappointing. The food profiles give a very 1950s vibe. Very little seasoning, bland, and ordinary. We will not be returning. This experience was 110.00 plus 20.00 tip. We were celebrating our 24 yr anniversary and left feeling disappointed.

This is some of the best Italian in Kansas City. Make sure you save room for dessert because the dessert cart is a must. I love all their offerings of wines. They have a great pasta selection and everything that tastes very authentic. The whole space transforms you. Parking is easy to navigate. The chef is great and I love how Jasper comes around to talk to his guests.

Jasper's is an all time favorite place to dine. Special occasions or just a random Tuesday. Every dish is spectacular and tasty!! We love talking with Kasper as he wanders around the dining room. We recommend Jasper's any chance we get.

Food 3/5 Portion Size 2/5 Ambiance 3/5 Service 3/5 Value for your Money 3/5 I had no issues making reservations for Jasper's, we were even sat at a table as soon as we checked in which was great! As far as the feel of the restaurant, it was quite busy but did not feel hectic at all. We were sat in their patio area which allowed for a calmer dinner than I would have expected for the time of year. As far as the food goes, I ordered the veal parmigiana which came with a house salad. I will give bonus points for the option of having bleu cheese in the salad, which I enjoyed a great deal but they did not mention that this was an additional charge. As someone who cannot eat pork, having a single pepperoni in the salad was odd and a bit off-putting. The veal was great, nothing too fancy aside from being veal but it was pleasant and leftovers were not an option. My wife ordered the Linguini Fra'Diavolo. She seemed to enjoy it, but found it very lacking in spice; she also mentioned that the shrimp were overcooked and very tough and rubbery. My brother-in-law ordered a Caesar salad as his main and asked for shrimp to be included. He seemed to have had a better experience with the shrimp but this did cause for the $8 salad to now be $23 which we all felt was overboard. Reviewing the menu now, I see that there is an $8 charge to add shrimp to a pasta dish, but $15 for a salad just seems like sneaking in charges to get more money. As far as drinks go, I definitely would just go elsewhere. Of the various drinks that were ordered, only one was enjoyable; my wife's limoncello martini. My brother-in-law's blood orange old fashioned smelled like floor cleaner and was very bland; my pera siciliana had spice to it, but the drink did not feel balanced at all, too much base, too acidic, not enough sweet. The other aspect of this that I did not enjoy was that our waiter never once bothered to ask if any of us wanted another drink. He was consistent in refilling our water while our cocktail glasses sat empty. On the topic of our server, we hardly saw him despite seeing him walk around to other tables near us. I do not feel a party of 8, as we were, should demand attention but anything more would have been decent at best. After waiting a while to get our salads, waiting to have it cleared off, waiting felt like the theme of the night. It felt like we had long intermissions between everything. Getting our plates cleaned off from the salad was long, getting our main dishes took a while after that, having those plates cleaned off took even longer. We were not wanting dessert because we already had a good idea as to how much longer it would be before we got those. The waiter did not bother to ask if we even wanted dessert, he just began setting the table for everyone with new forks and spoons. After he did this, he finally asked if anyone wanted more to drink, but not what we had already ordered, limoncello. We all quickly declined. He did not mention whether it would be for free or for a fee, but we all figured it would not be worth our time if it took another 30 minutes to get that back to our table. He then did the dessert showcase, which he had already done 2-3 to neighboring tables. Only two things were ordered from the cart but they were nothing much worth noting upon. If I could offer points for improvement, I would definitely say the service needs to be much more attentive and move with purpose and urgency to start. The portion sizes were just a step up from Plate, which are very minimal to speak of. As an Italian restaurant, I would expect larger portion sizes, even Olive Garden has bigger portions than here. The drinks need to be redone, not even saying what is for offer, more so just the taste of them needs much improvement. When it comes to pricing, any restaurant should be more transparent with additional fees such as adding shrimp (way overboard) or adding bleu cheese.

Another unforgettable dinner at Jaspers.... but the star of the evening as always was the dessert. My family is absolutely obsessed with the tartufo, and once you try it you'll understand why. Imagine creamy vanilla ice cream wrapped in a chocolate cookie coating topped with fresh whipped cream sweet strawberries and drizzled with rich chocolate sauce. it's decadent it's dreamy and honestly I could eat FIVE in one sitting. what I love most about Jaspers is that the desserts are just as special as the entrees. From the tartufo to their classic cannoli homemade gelato and seasonal specialties every sweet treat feels like it was made with love. You don't just finish your meal here you celebrate it!!!! If you haven't tried the tartufo at Jaspers or Marco Polos youre truly missing out. Its not just dessert its an experience and it should be on everyone's bucket list. Do yourself a favor order it!!!! One bite and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

Hey Chef "One cheap party, what do I care" You might want to make certain the entire party has left the building, before criticizing!!! Here's my receipt My meals come w 2 salads Please explain this receipt!! My meals were fine, when asking why there are 2 extra salads, I was told Caesar was extra??? It's the same price on your menu But forever will those words stick in my mind ONE CHEAP PARTY WHAT DO I CARE!!!! You ABSOLUTELY SHOULD CARE CHEF!!!!! Not the first time I've been to your restaurant Or the 2nd time or 3rd time I've been to your restaurant ENDLESS times And I wanted to leave a zero tip, but I couldn't not cheap, feel free to read other reviews, and I'm an insane tipper as I've waited tables Your statement was absolutely insulting !!! Yeah I get it One cheap party I realize your biz will survive as you've earned where you are today But it will no longer be because of me

Great food from a long time landmark of KC! Great family! Cozy intimate atmosphere! Staff is friendly and fun!

Always love going to Jaspers. I ordered the salmon which was cooked perfectly. My daughter went with me for our annual birthday date. Her only request was spaghetti with meatballs which Jaspers made just how she likes. Great service as usual. Just a great Italian local tradition.

Jasper's is a KC icon and the first time I tried it (via carry out) I was fairly let down. I'm happy to say though, that after going through the complete dining experience I had a very pleasant time. It was a snowy day in December and my Dad loves Jaspers so we had a reservation to celebrate his birthday that evening. Our whole family got together and were seated in the back by the roaring fireplace. The whole restaurant is very old school italian, and has a really nice warmth to it, especially on a cold winter's night. After being seated it was a pretty standard dining experience, the waitress was nice, not exceptional, but good. The cocktails were a bit wanting in my experience. My husband and I are both into bourbon so we each had their specialty old fashioned. It was a bit syrupy for my taste but wasn't bad. I think if Jaspers wants to become even more of a fine dining establishment upping the game on the cocktail menu could be a great way to do that. The other bit that was a bit disappointing was that the bread we had was pretty hard, I noticed one piece I cut into for my daughter was super fresh and soft and then the one I ate was very stale - so there is some quality control there. My dinner was really great though, I came into it with really no expectations and enjoyed every bite. The sauce was really nice, everything tasted very fresh, and it was a super enjoyable dinner. Overall I enjoyed Jaspers and I'm sure I'll go back again with my Dad. I think it's a perfect place to bring your family. It really fits that family dining vibe, while being a bit on the nicer side. Great for a celebration or a dinner with mom and dad.

Not pictured: the amazing blueberry lemon cake! Thaddeus (I hope I'm spelling that right!) and Jeff are incredible - very knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. The atmosphere at Jasper's is always great, and the food is AUTHENTIC AND FRESH. I love coming by here with people or solo. The first time I came to Jaspers was on a whim (I happened to be sending off some stuff at UPS next door) and decided to come pop in solo to give it a try - I'm so happy I did. Excellent date spot as well. Cant recommend Jaspers enough!

Jaspers restaurant has been my favorite place to be since I was a child. The food is just like my family's, authentic and delicious! You could not ask for better service. Everyone from the chef to the hostess pays attention to detail to ensure quality for customers and a wonderful overall experience.

Pros: Great food! - The food is authentic & delicious. Fresh produce, prepared perfectly, much is purchased locally. Clean - Always clean and smelling of delicious Italian food. Cons: Some (not all, mostly the older guys) of the wait staff are pompous jerks - Depending on who you get is how you'll be treated. Fancy clothing helps, but doesn't always do the trick. Wait time - I'm not exaggerating when I say you'll be there for 3 hours or more. There are several courses and a LOT of waiting between each. It's an event, not just a meal. Expensive - Drinks & side table mozzarella with your meal? Be prepared to pay. Our table of 5 was over $400 and one was a child. To sum up: Dress up (don't forget your thickest skin), come early & plan to stay late, don't forget your wallet $$, & come hungry, you'll definitely love the food and possibly the service...possibly.

Had a great lunch at this old family run spot the other day. Happy to report that after more than ten years since my last visit the level of service and menu have remained excellent. In fact, I would go so far as to say they have improved and there is a real sense of pride in what they do. I usually don't get real excited about Fettuccine Alfredo but I have to say that my wife's order reminded me of the "alla panna" dishes I use to enjoy while stationed in southern Italy. Truly outstanding. I had the Sicilian Pork Chop and it was very good as well. The wait staff are professionally attired and know how the job is done. Will definitely be back soon!

WONT LET YOU WEAR A HAT, man who does that in this day and age, I was meeting up with a vendor so I really didn't appreciate having to not wear my hat and look weird with messy hair, maybe if the food was better I'd give them some grace but entrees and appetizers were mediocre, only giving 2 stars cause the tiramisu was very tasty

Jasper's remains one of the shining gems in the Kansas City restaurant scape. We went with friends to enjoy the special monthly menu they were running. Between the crispy polenta with gorgonzola cream and the Lobster Bisque en Cappuccino, I went with the polenta. Only because I' usually so disappointed in the lobster bisque I get in restaurants. And, frankly, I make a pretty fantastic bisque myself. But then I tasted my PC's bisque. Sigh... exquisite! Of course the tossed salad was delicious as Jasper has a great dressing! My entree of Pasta and Tuscan Pork Ragu was also delicious and somewhat lightly bathed in a flavorful Ragu sauce. The dessert of chocolate Tartuffo was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. I love Jasper's. It is a wonderful place to go to enjoy some old school charm, an authentic dessert cart, outstanding and attentive service (Thank you Salvadore!) and a consistently delicious meal. I'm always somewhat amazed to see how much Jasper himself gets out into the dining room to greet not only the regular customers, but those of us who don't make it in often. He is a gracious host and one of the most reliable ambassadors for the restaurant industry in the Kansas City area.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. From the service to the quality and taste of the food, everything was five stars. All the food has a rich flavor to where you can tell that it is made from scratch. You have to check this place out to know exactly what I mean,but my rating is well deserved! Also,the servers here all work as a team so you get to meet them all and they all have outgoing and nice personalities which made my experience that much better. The price vs potions sizes are very fair and i didn't feel I was over charged. This restaurant you get what you pay for in every aspect,and I can't wait to come again!

Oh! How awful... I am a proud woman. I am a grown adult woman. Despite my waitress being a very kind young woman, I was seated near the bar and could overhear the young men in the back discussing my dear daughter. The horrible things they were saying... how atrocious. Lude remarks to no end regarding my daughter's cleavage. And with no regard to me or to my daughter's wellbeing. The shame and embarrassment I felt on their behalf was palpable. My food was cold at the center, to boot, and the prices were outrageous. Never will I dine here again. Never again, Jasper. Goodbye.

Service was not good, when myself and the other couple we were with pointed that out we were met by two RUDE ( managers). the situation got worse and we were asked to leave and not come back THAT IS OKAY, WE DON'T WANT TO GO BACK AND BE TREATED SO RUDELY. There was an issue with wrong charges that I called about two days later ( I well then the tirade started by one of the people on the phone, using every swear work that he could think of The F word and many more,, He would not even listen to my issue, he hung up. I called back to speak with someone else and without the bad language he was just as rude. Too bad, the food at this place is very good, and normally the service is also good, not sure who the two were but they could do a better job of dealing with customers.

Jaspers has amazing service! From start to finish this staff takes great care of you. The food was good but nothing out of this world. If you are looking for old school experience I definitely recommend. The tables are a tad close together but it was not an issue just too close while having a conversation.

I love a place where service is never rushed and each course they give you time to relax. Jaspers does this so well. The staff check on you but not overwhelming. You even get the head chef and owner checking in on you. The atmosphere is comfortable, we had a half circle booth. It is beautifully decorated and welcoming. He food is the highlight! I had the Osca busco and it was so tender and so much meat served over a risotto. The wine list is extensive. We enjoyed an Italian red. If you get the chance to have the freshly made mozzarella with basil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and tomatoes in front of you , it is a treat. As for dessert they have about ten selections so you won't be disappointed. Parking a plenty. Good idea to make a reservation his place is popular. Highly recommended!

I have never even heard of this restaurant before. It was recommended by someone on my husband's business trip. He eats there two or three times a week ... The food was amazing! Mozzarella made table side for Caprese Salad (with the next generation at hand learning the tricks of the trade). The fresh, rustic bread. Bread comes with oil, balsamic and parmesan cheese for dipping. The bread and Caprese salad were plenty for me. My husband ordered lasagna. He raved about how good the lasagna was. They also have a cookbook! Everyone there that is Jasper's family signed my cookbook.

Always a HUGE hit with the family each time we come here. Always a great meal with excellent service. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and the desserts are also amazing. We usually start with a charcuterie bird and a bottle of wine before we enjoy our pasta choices. We always enjoy the strawberry cake as well. The tortellini is a must try!! Can't wait to go back!

Wanted to go ahead and give this place a try because i've heard nothing but great things about this place. Came in on a Monday evening with a party of 4. We were originally told that it'd be a 25 minute wait, however, we were seated within 5 minutes! The bread (not pictured) is amazing! Every entree comes with a house salad or you can upgrade to any of the other salads on the menu. It took about 15 minutes for our waiter to take our drink order.. definitely nothing against this waiter, you could tell they were very busy for a Monday night. It took about a total of 30-45 minutes for our salads to come out which i found a little bizarre, given that it was just a salad. Nonetheless, salad was delicious. I ordered the cacio e pepe pasta and added broccoli and grilled chicken. The amount of grilled chicken that was added to the plate was not worth the price. (I believe it was $6+ for the chicken) I think I had about an oz of chicken on my plate. The pasta was pretty bland and lacked flavor. I had to add a generous amount of salt and pepper to have the true flavor of the pasta come out. We ended up ordering dessert and I have to say, this was probably the best thing from our meal. We opted for the New York Cheesecake and were NOT disappointed. So creamy and delicious! Would probably come back to Jasper's on a slower night to give them another try.

Classic Italian deli and first class Italian restaurant. Each a great choice. Can't go wrong

First time here. Heard about them for years, mostly from their 101 The Fox radio ads. Got there at 6pm, seated in the bar because dining was already booked up through 8pm. Darkest restroom I have EVER been in wow...be sure to bring your flashlight Food was ok, not great not bad. I've never been to an Italian restaurant whose cooking I liked better than my own. Service was slow. Requests were made to our waitress were not followed up on. I'd be just as happy going to Olive Garden but I'm willing to give them one more chance...

Authentically crafted southern Italian. Smooth red sauce and outstanding meatballs. Had St. Peter's fish--delicious! Meal comes with salad and bread! Service was friendly, not rushed, informative of menu and explained seasonal menu options. Loved server Maggie! Ambiance is cozy and homey feel. Will be back with my family!

We were served by Louis and had the absolute best experience in the last twenty years of eating out. What a great restaurant excellent food. Excellent service and joyful vibe. Attention to detail was excellent. This place should have a Michelin star.

The service, environment, and the very welcoming staff . The food was excellent. I was here for a family birthday one of my stepson's Salvatore we just love this place. The owner and the head chef is Jasper also headed up the Italian cooking at the Union Station back in the 70s top shelf chef

Second time eating here and I left just as satisfied as the first time! We came here for my grandpas birthday with 5 in our party. We had a reservation for 5:30 and we got sat immediately. Our waiter was very on top of things and attentive up until 7ish when it was a lot busier and it was time to order desserts. The food was amazing as always. We were served many hot and fresh pieces of bread, which our waiter made sure to keep stocked on our plates. My Caesar salad was super delicious and the dressing was very garlicky which I loved. The lobster bisque was my favorite part, it's so rich and creamy and I love how it's a little sweet. I got the Pope John pasta which had a really good flavor, it was just super rich so I couldn't eat much. Desserts weren't my favorite but they definitely weren't bad at all, I think I was just full!! Overall, I had a really good time and I feel like it's a good place to go for a longer dining experience or to celebrate someone.

Food and service do not get any better no matter where you are. We make a special trip to KC just to dine at Jasper's whenever we can. Everything is always perfect.

What am I missing KC?! This is some of the most lackluster Italian food... maggiano's has more flavor than this place... super disappointing birthday meal Ambiance was about the only redeeming part of this restaurant. To start our reservation was written down incorrectly. Our server was also incredibly rude... Cocktail menu was disappointing. Appetizers were probably the best part of the meal... Ricotta and meatballs and charbroiled oysters... excluding our salads that had more bleu cheese than lettuce. Entrees were the worst part of the night. Lacking seasoning and flavor.... I'm appalled their chicken Parmesan is a signature dish. My pasta looked straight out of a box, and the chicken and marinara were incredibly bland... I don't know if the staff was having an off night... or if the B team works on Tuesdays...but the quality of food should be consistent no matter what night of the week you go. Wont be back

Love the traditional Italian family vibes. It's like having dinner at grandmas every weekend. Jasper is always there and making it known he loves his customers.
