"The original Java location was created as the ultimate hangout for its founder, a man whose look—thick square glasses, long hair, indie band t-shirts, and a thin hipster scarf—was so iconic that locals dressed as him for Halloween. He passed away in 2020, but his passion for motorcycles, skateboards, and music are injected throughout the coffee shop and café in touches like laminated band photos as table markers for your food orders. The drink menu has all the coffee classics, but you should order their famous Bowl of Soul, a specialty mocha that uses Mexican hot chocolate and comes topped with homemade whipped cream. Add on a high-protein turkey scramble or a heavy breakfast burrito, and check out the long display case of scones, muffins, and cookies." - Hayden Seder

"The original Java location was created as the ultimate hangout for its founder, a man whose look of thick square glasses, long hair, punk or indie band t-shirts, and a thin hipster scarf was so iconic that locals have often dressed as him for Halloween. A motorcycle, skateboard, and punk aficionado who passed away in 2020, he injected these elements throughout the coffee shop and café in the form of touches like framed black-and-white motorcycle art on the walls and laminated band photos as table markers for your food orders.  The drink menu has all the coffee classics, but you should order their famous Bowl of Soul, a specialty mocha that uses Mexican hot chocolate and comes topped with homemade whipped cream. Add on a high-protein turkey scramble or a heavy breakfast burrito, and check out the long display case of scones, muffins, and cookies for a snack for later." - hayden seder

Cozy with a fireplace and amazing pastries! The vibes are sort of 90s coffee shop (in a good way) with warm colors, soft couches, and floral curtains. I got a maple walnut scone and it was the perfect amount of sweet. The pastries are also really affordable considering they are made from scratch.

Maybe we ordered the wrong things 🤷‍♀️ Matcha wasn’t prepared well (clumps), breakfast burrito was ok, eggs and toast was good 👍🏻, pumpkin chocolate chip bread was dry. Service was good despite being very busy and the atmosphere was great! It was a beautiful sunny fall morning and we enjoyed our time on their dog-friendly patio.

I went here twice while visiting Sun Valley and was not disappointed! Good coffee, especially oat milk cappuccinos and great pastries, including gluten free items from Three Peas GF bakery. The holiday muffin was cranberry orange and so freaking delicious. I also had the breakfast sandwich on a nice buttery croissant that was pretty good!

It was okay. I had the breakfast croissant and my husband had the huevos rancheros. The woman who took our order was rude and very short with us, but the girl who made our coffee was very nice. We were there on 09/27, which was a Friday, at about 11:30am. The only fresh pastry left was a single scone. The website says the kitchen closes at 3pm, but it closed at 12pm. A man came in at 12pm to order food and the same woman who took our order helped him, and she acted like she was doing him a favor by allowing him to order. Overall we both felt the food was good (not fantastic, but good), but based on service we wouldn’t go back.

Came here after an otherwise frustrating breakfast quest. Food was amazing. Wait was short. Atmosphere was refreshingly normal and unpretentious. They had my wife's coffee out before we'd hardly hit the seats after ordering. Absolutely recommend.

Cute place, great food. I wish we lived here. On our recent drive through the Sun Valley area, we came here two mornings in a row. Lots of delicious food options, and the Bowl of Soul is not to be missed.

After having an awful experience at Bigwood Bakery and Cafe, we decided to find something less pretentious and somewhere with better customer service. This was THE place for both of those things. The atmosphere was amazing and relaxed. The customer service was friendly and considerate and the food was amazing. Totally recommend!!

It was fine. Drinks and snacks were good. It had a pretty typical ski town vibe. I'd go back if in the area. Service was somewhat rude.
