Google
Love this little coffee shop. I ordered the Gold Rush (specialty menu) per recommendation of their staff member, Aubreigh. The Gold Rush drink is delicious! Will definitely come back!

Samara B

Google
Very delicious coffee, many options and great customer service. Ordered a lavender latte and a Nutella pastry both extremely delicious. Prices are reasonable and store is pretty clean including their restroom.

Google
Very smooth cortado and the cheddar sausage pretzel wrap was excellent as well. Great service and atmosphere. Can't wait to get back and try a bag of their roasted beans as well!!

Brenda Costilla

Google
Friendly smiling staff. The food is delicious 😋 I usually get an iced Irish cream latte, but today I got a small cold brew: brown sugar cinnamon with sweet cream and a strawberry cream danish.

Amy Johnson

Google
Now THHIISS is the appropriate amount of cheese to put in a ham and cheese croissant!! 😂🤩🤩 and they they use actual thick cut ham not some thin lunch meat💪 great job!

Google
Great little place right on Main Street for a quick breakfast bite. Fast, friendly service. There are a couple outdoor tables available or enjoy your breakfast in the cozy cafe. Highly recommend the French toast muffin!

Google
A bit disappointed with this establishment. The photos are out of date and mislead the public into thinking they offer a breakfast menu. They only offer a minimal selection of pastries, one type of kolache, and some muffins. A bagel is also an option. We waited and watched several customers who came in after us get their coffee before us. 2 small cappuccinos to be exact. They were out of knives so we had to use forks to spread the cream cheese on our bagels. Would we come again? No, there are plenty of other coffee shops on the strip that offer a much better selection and service that doesn’t fall short. There is a decent amount of tables to choose from but seating is a bit tight. The decor and Mural on the wall adds an interesting touch.

Google
Beautiful country coffee and pastry place. It is country without being pretentious or trying too hard. 19/10 would recommend.

Yelp
Great coffee place. We got to try the iced blueberry breech matcha which was from their March special menu and blueberry muffin. Upon request, they were able to heat it up. Both items were really good and were around $10-11. Mix of old and modern vibes, will definitely recommend this.

Yelp
Good Coffee and good service. Passing through Fredericksburg on a Sunday morning and we were pleased to find Java ranch. Limited food items but that was not the reason for the stop.

Yelp
I come here many times when I visit Fredericksburg. Such a cute place to read a book, hangout with friends/family, and even work. Their coffee is delicious as well as their other none coffee drinks. They do have a small selection of smalls bites which is also taste. I would recommender the wrapped hotdog. The employees are quick and knowledgeable.

Yelp
Fun Saloon style and walk up coffee bar inside. Fun flavors, I had the Banana one. It was interesting. Not in a bad way, but I might want to try something different next time. Friendly service!

Yelp
A beautiful coffee shop with lots of coffee choices and delicious pastries. I had a perfectly made hot latte and visited 3 times while I town. A definite must if you like coffee!

Mark R.

Yelp
Coffee is decent for the price, decor and ambiance is nice, with a theme you would expect in Fredericksburg. Staff is a bit on the unfriendly robotic side. All in all, more expensive than your standard Starbucks, and also a little better.

Yelp
I wish I could rate this place higher than a 3. The shop itself is cute with plenty of indoor seating. The coffee itself was also really great and they had a lot of options for flavours and milk alternatives. However, the service was super slow, we visited on a Monday morning and it was busy but nothing outside of the ordinary for a coffee shop in the morning. Also, I'm pretty sure the barista upcharged our order (I didn't realize it until I was looking at my bank statement). Myself and my partner both ordered medium iced coffee which was listed on the board as 3.50 each. The barista said she had to ring it in as an americano which was listed on the board at 4.00 for a medium. Even if we were charged for adding a flavour (I added a flavour and my partner didn't) I'm not sure how our bill ended up being over 15.00?? Neither of us had a speciality dairy alternative either. If I noticed while I was paying I would have said something.

Yelp
Eh, it's ok. Pros: the decor was super fun. Very western! The mural captured the cowboy heritage of Fredericksburg. There was also a nice group of locals who were very friendly. The baristas were cool and helpful too! The milk in my latte was frothed well Cons: besides the milk my coffee was just ok. I got a vanilla honey latte half sweet with whole milk. Couldn't really taste the espresso at all, maybe my bad for ordering a latte. I admit I may also be biased because my wife and I run a small coffee truck. I could've also just ordered the wrong drink. Disappointed there weren't house-made syrups. I think I'd come back and try again but only after I tried some of the other shops in the area.

Yelp
Cute little shop in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg. They have plenty of comfortable seating and we lingered over our books for a good while. The decor is a nod to Western style which is a little different for a coffee shop but definitely fits them. My chai latte was tasty and not too sweet. Prices are reasonable too. They have some muffins and pastries too.
google avatar

Aimee G.

Yelp
Best coffee in Fredericksburg hands down! I ordered a hot americano with heavy cream and cinnamon syrup! The service was great and quick. Loved the ambiance and how cozy it felt on this cold morning. We will definitely be back
google avatar

Krystal T.

Yelp
This shop was very cute and spacious! The coffee and the chocolate chip muffin were good. The service was excellent as you can see by our photo!

Yelp
Java Ranch is under new ownership, but the coffee and muffins are the same great quality. If the employees were friendly before, they're even more friendly no. The new owners uncluttered the dining area exhibiting the beautiful and unique western mural that I would say spans the whole contiguous wall, clearly 50ft or more.

Debra H.

Yelp
$8 for a large iced latte with regular milk and no flavor? Ridiculous! No food value in that at all. Black Rock Coffee is 10 times better and $1 less. And by the lack of people there and no line (as in the past), I might surmise this has affected traffic. After 13 years of enjoying this place, I have moved on. I went to Starbucks the next morning and it was packed. Guess others agree.

Yelp
Kind of underwhelming. I chose this spot over other coffee shops because it appeared rustic online and indeed it was. My first impression wasn't the best when I arrived at 10am on Sunday and was told they were out of iced coffee. A coffee bar out of coffee 2 hours into a weekend service? They had cold brew as a backup which is double the price. Some positives: that had many sugar feee syrup options. I tried the Irish cream one. They also had some gigantic, delicious-looking muffins in their bakery case.

Yelp
nice selection of smoothies and kolaches and coffee. service was quick. has free wifi. Not very busy on a weekday

Yelp
Much needed coffee stop while in Fredericksburg our energy level was drained when we spotted this little gem @ 3pm I had iced salted Carmel with a touch of cream Diana had Vanilla Mocha got us through the day and on down the road. Nice place if ever in town give them a try.
google avatar

Diane S.

Yelp
I love that our Oldest Coffee Shop in town has been given new life by it's new owners! I was there yesterday and the coffee and pastries were divine!
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Java Ranch is right off of main street in Fredericksburg. Featuring a wide variety of drinks they also have self serve coffee if you aren't looking for anything to fancy. There was a pretty significant line when I went on a Sunday morning. It took a little bit for them to get to us I think they were short staffed. They also have breakfast items like muffins, cinnamon rolls, scones, and breakfast tacos. Very spacious on the inside and plenty of room to sit down.

Yelp
Anytime we travel.down here, we always come to this coffee shop. I got a peppermint mocha and a cheddar pretzel kolache. The mocha was ok. I have had better and most of the peppermint was at the bottom. Got a big drink of peppermint when I got towards the end of it. The kolache was wonderful though. Got it to split with my mom and cutting it in half made for the perfect snack size. The pretzels was steamy and tender with not too much salt on it. The meat also had a good snap when you bit into it. The cheddar inside of it was also not too sharp and the combination of everything together was yummy. I would have given 5 stars if the cashier would have been more friendly. I actually said hello to him first and that's not good customer service.

Yelp
Java Ranch is a very busy spot for a reason. They have a wonderful assortment of coffees, espresso, teas and pastries. Java Ranch will keep you coming back again and again.

Yelp
I stopped in while shopping in Fredericksburg. We needed a short break and a shot of caffeine. Great little spot. Very polite young men were running the show doing an excellent job. All of us had cold beverages and they were delicious. My drink was a caramel frap with a great caramel flavor and blended perfectly without any chunks of ice. There were muffins available that looked amazing and I was tempted but we already had dinner plans. My mouth watered and I took a mental note to start my day here next time.

Yelp
This place is wack - none of the syrups are made in house and the machines they use for their coffee are the same machines in those luxury apartment complexes where you push a button to make yourself a coffee. Additionally, there are no prices on the menu when I looked so when I paid I felt jipped for being charged $8 for an iced matcha latte that was the color of light green straw. I felt like I was drinking milk. The bathroom toilet also does not flush. I do not recommend this place at all, just walk a bit further to another coffee shop!

Lacey C.

Yelp
JERK server guy. We ordered a "macchiato" and when we got our drink it was barely an in the cup and when we questioned the guy he said - you didn't order a CARAMEL MACCHIATO did you? he was So rude!!! So we said oh. Sorry no. And left. Won't be going back,
google avatar

Cybil S.

Yelp
As a chai latte lover it. An he hard to find a chai that doesn't suck. Too sweet, all syrup, some boxed crap, but this place was great! Lots of milk alt options including oat milk (my fave) and then real brewed chai added. Creamy and delicious without lots of bite.
google avatar

Madeline J.

Yelp
Really good coffee but we came here because of the breakfast sandwiches and burritos and they no longer serve food aside from muffins. They said they haven't updated their review page menu or photos in years so if you're coming here for food, don't :)
google avatar

Jon M.

Yelp
This coffee place is extraordinarily slow. The brewed coffee is self serve but always empty. The barista drinks take an unusually long time to make. The kids running this place are probably new and have no sense of urgency. Half of the food items were also sold out. It was hard to figure out what was in stock. There are plenty of other coffee shops on main st. I will skip this one in the future.
google avatar

Karis S.

Yelp
Chai is good. Chocolate Croissant is great. Carmel frap went down all too fast ! But if I buy all this stuff- I'd like to be able to wash my hands. Most places allow public restrooms and your restroom, which was clearly marked with a sign was locked the entire time. Thank you for posting the guide to the public restrooms on the door. I will recommend accordingly. I
google avatar

Trina W.

Yelp
Not a lot of seating. Only 3 pastries in the display case. Coffee was self pour, they just pump the flavor in if you add any. The hot chocolate tasted like drinking water with a barely a tiny taste of chocolate. The coffee syrup was overpowering and coffee was weak too ,tastes more like weak tea
google avatar

Sherry B.

Yelp
Well we stopped here for some breakfast and coffee drinks. All they were selling to eat is muffins. No breakfast sandwiches and burritos. The honey muffin was cold and pretty dry. I think it had been frozen. We ordered Mocha Frappe drinks. I couldn't taste the mocha just a big taste of caramel which I'm not a fan of caramel. I don't know if he got it wrong or they just add caramel to it on their own. We spent $24 for 1 coffee, 1 muffin, and 2 small mocha frappes. We will try the donut shop next time we are in Fredicksburg.
google avatar

Tara H.

Yelp
Came here for coffee during a weekend trip. Excellent vanilla Frappuccino similar to Starbucks. I like the western decor.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Wonderful coffee shop on main street... Incredibly friendly staff, great tasting coffee and quick service. Big Plus... They open at 7 AM. If you're in the area and looking for a espresso Jolt to start your day- look no further - I will definitely be back.
google avatar

M Z.

Yelp
Ordered a mocha. It tasted like weak hot chocolate. They were pleasant and offered to make me another one. It was only slightly better. My friend put up with her hot chocolate which tasted like warm milk with peppermint flavor. The counter people are not making the espresso shots themselves. A machine does all the work. I would suggest recalibrating the machine, getting a new machine, or get rid of the no-brainer machine completely and go traditional with trained baristas.

Yelp
Not bad. Good location on Main Street, yet if you think that you'll be one of the lucky ones to get parking directly in front of the Cafe, you are fooling yourself (better off parking off to the side streets). There are breakfast and lunch options available, yet I didn't see many patrons ordering anything on a cold, January 2019 day. Not even some of the snack items, which were pretty much muffins and cookies. The coffee selections of espresso, regular coffee, and iced coffee (Americano with an espresso shot was my choice) was actually quite good. Customer service was not bad. A memorable experience? Not really. Overall, I'd return to give this venue a second try when in on vacation in Fredericksburg.
google avatar

Tracey Z.

Yelp
Decent wait time, good service. I got the iced coffee with oat milk which in my opinion was really watery. I tried my sister's iced coffee which she got with cream and it was also pretty watery. Not sure if it's just an iced coffee thing or if all their coffee is watery. Anyways, decently priced caffeine.
google avatar

Stephy B.

Yelp
Cute place, the I got the latte with French Vanilla and I thought it was pretty good. The staff were friendly. Good prices, and fast service. They took safety measures during this covid pandemic.

Cortnie P.

Yelp
Java Ranch coffee & pastries were the absolute best we had on our trip to Fredericksburg! If you have the chance to try the chocolate croissant, French toast muffin or lavender vanilla matcha do so! You will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Scott B.

Yelp
This coffee shop offers a great and reasonably priced breakfast open at 7 AM weekdays. Their biscuit sandwiches were great- loaded with eggs, cheese, and bacon plus the biscuits were fresh, moist, and fluffy. Enjoyed my iced Mocha Latte with Honey Vanilla syrup. They some tasty looking breakfast pastries too...
google avatar

Yelp
One thing that absolutely irks me to my Native American core is when establishments don't display prices for their items. Does someone expect me to ask the cost for each and every item that interests me? Or are they assuming that I must be affluent enough to not care how price will factor into my decision. I don't act as a patron to places like this. That's a sin that's greater than lying or betrayal, because they're basically doing that before you get your check.
google avatar

Jam S.

Yelp
Java Ranch is my go to place for coffee when in Fredericksburg. It's a quaint coffee shop on Main St. and has a good amount of seating inside. The ambiance is very rustic and the menu is simple. I do love the idea of being able to customize your own coffee and add your flavor of choice. Lastly, coffee is cheaper than most coffee-chains, so don't forget to tip your barista!
google avatar

Paola T.

Yelp
My husband had a mocha frappe which he enjoyed but had way too much ice and I had a matcha latte which was okay but quite watered down with 3/4 of the cup being filled with ice. Considering the prices not worth it.

Kierstyn W.

Yelp
Honestly making this one star solely based off of their cold brew. Not to be a "coffee connoisseur" but if you know coffee you know what cold brew is supposed to be and theirs tasted like actual water. I got lavender vanilla and cream and I'm telling you it tasted like a hint of lavender in water. I'm not even convinced there was actual cold brew in the drink at all. Plus the girl taking our order was so rude, seemed so irritated to be there, and overall it was not worth the outrageous price y'all charge. I mean... $7 for COLD BREW?! That should be your cheapest drink. Ouch.

Abigail S.

Yelp
They are in a convenient location and it's a cute place, but it was one of the weakest/ worst cups of coffee I've ever had in my life. Especially from a place marketed as an espresso bar. They can't do milk alternatives in cappuccinos either and there was wayyy too much milk in the cappuccino.
google avatar

Christian R.

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed our early morning breakfast at Java Ranch. The coffee, breakfast biscuit and breakfast croissant were really delicious. We came in on a Tuesday morning--it wasn't too busy, but it had quite a few people inside nonetheless. For those worries about COVID, the seat spacing is well-spread out, however it seemed this particular morning masks when entering were optional. Some people came in with them, others did not. Either way, the young women behind the counter were polite and courteous and the breakfast offerings are delicious! Definitely recommend!!
google avatar

Patricia B.

Yelp
What a nice little place. Hunter took really good care of us. Variety of options with very reasonable prices. I had brewed coffee with heavy cream, which comes with free refills. I decided to add Hazelnut flavoring after the fact and it was really good. The restroom is OK, nothing fancy. Pay attention to the paintings on the wall, it is unusual to see murals with such details and good quality. Overall a very nice experience.
google avatar

Andy R.

Yelp
Aside from the baristas welcome (not) he did make a good dry cappuccino. The coffee wasn't burned very smooth and creamy and most kids do not know what a dry cappuccino is so it was nice to see he did. Tons of room, chairs and tables an old western motif with shotgun shell string lights! Don't know what I'm talking about go check it out!
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
The "pig in a blanket" they call a kolache is melt in your mouth good! It's wrapped in a biscuit! A healthy choice I will get again is the avocado toast for sure! I went back the next day! I then had the bacon and egg burrito- YUMMM!! My man had the breve - loved! I had the sweet tea and had to add a little unsweetened to it!! That is shocking for people that know me! I like some sweet tea! Lol I also had the chai tea latte the next day- served very hot!!
google avatar

Fernando V.

Yelp
Small cute little spot if you Aaron looking to keep up ou breakfast on the simple side. Not allot of space inside to sit so it's hit or miss on grabbing a seat. They have lots of different drink options from smoothies tto a variety of coffee drinks. Breakfast biscuit was ok, cranberry mUffinn was delicious also their kolaches are just ok. I would come again if I was just looking for some coffee not so mUch for a sit down breakfast
google avatar

Yelp
Tasty coffee and neat little place. Staff is friendly but maybe not the fastest... which is fine when on vacation :)
