Upon entering this restaurant, you are met with the kindest, most genuine staff. From the hostess, to busser, then to our amazing server, Angel. What a fun guy who truly enjoys his job. He made our meal so enjoyable. There were 6 of us, 3 of them being kids. He treated them with as much respect as he did to us. Which was so refreshing to see. Our food was top notch, and everyone cleared their plates. We ordered the combo plate (flaunta and cheese enchilada), combo plate (cheese enchilada & bean tostada), fish tacos, kids chicken tenders, Ruby’s chicken burrito, and fajita (steak salad) - which had the best texture and flavor I’ve had in a long time! Along with the great service and food, we were sat in the back room where there were tall windows which allowed for unobstructed views! The best experience we could ask for for our friends visiting the area. Being a local, I’m so proud of this establishment and the beautiful owner that runs this outstanding establishment! Kudos to you all!

Nice Mexican food. We had a party of 9 and were seated after about a 30-minute wait. The salsa and chips were great, and the service was nice. I had the chicken fajitas—they were very flavorful. The rotisserie chicken and goat cheese enchiladas were excellent. The kids’ menu chicken tenders were juicy and cooked perfectly.

This was hands down one of the best meals I have ever had! Amazing views, the food was fresh and tasty, insane margaritas. Our server Paulino was the best of all time, he made our experience fantastic. Highly recommend!

If you want AMAZING food, with TERRIFIC service (Mango is the best server!) with BEAUTIFUL views, this is the Mexican restaurant for you! Mango treated me like a princess the moment I sat down! He made me a beautiful drink, introduced the chef and the delightful specials! This is definitely a must not miss foodie destination on your trip to Sedona! It is so beautiful and clean inside as well! Such a great spot!

We stopped at Javelina Cantina in Sedona for a late lunch and were seated almost immediately, which was a nice start given how busy this part of town can get. The restaurant sits right along AZ-179, surrounded by the red rock scenery Sedona is known for, and the atmosphere inside felt lively but not overwhelming. Service was a little on the slow side, but nothing unreasonable. Drinks came out first, followed shortly by the chips and salsa. The chips and salsa were easily the highlight of the meal. Fresh, crisp chips and a flavorful salsa made it hard not to keep reaching for more. I ordered the two beef taco combo, which came with rice and beans. The plate in the photo shows a generous portion, and everything was served hot. The beans were tasty and well seasoned, but the beef tacos and rice were a bit mild and could have used more flavor on their own. They weren’t bad, just somewhat underwhelming compared to how good the chips and salsa were. Overall, this was a decent stop for a casual meal in Sedona, especially if you’re already in the area and want somewhere easy to sit down without a long wait. I wouldn’t go out of my way specifically for the tacos, but I’d happily come back for the chips and salsa, a drink, and the relaxed atmosphere after a day of exploring the red rocks.

For our first trip to Sedona, we hit the jackpot. Cannot overstate how amazing our dining experience was. If you could be so lucky to get Mango as your server, he expertly guides you to the best drinks and menu options. We enjoyed sampling each others drinks and entrees. Everything was delicious, and the portions were huge. We enjoyed our large table with a view of the incredible scenery, too.

Food was INCREDIBLE, got the chips and salsa and queso for an appetizer, street tacos for the main, and churros for dessert, everything tasted so fresh. The strawberry margarita also tasted amazing, like fresh strawberries instead of strawberry flavor. The churros weren’t quite as good as the ones at Mole (still very good), but the food and drinks were better. My server Angel was wonderful as well, very prompt and attentive, 10/10. Definitely one of my new go-to’s when visiting Sedona!

The people here is what makes us come back to Sedona every year. Our waiter was so nice and welcoming. He checked up on us pretty often. The food is phenomenal! The flavors are on point! We had the enchiladas and the tacos and washed everything down with some cold drinks 😋 our waiter asked us what brought us in, and we said we were celebrating our marriage. His eyes lit up and congratulated us, thank you so much. It truly meant a lot and then he surprised us with dessert 😋 such a small gesture but a huge heart felt memory for us. Thank you so much! We will be back soon 🤗

yummy food! we (family of 4) got a somewhat last-minute reservation, it was very busy the weekend we were in sedona. the restaurant is spacious with high ceilings that makes it seems very open and makes it less loud. there is seating outside with heaters (writing this in december), but we got a table inside and it was great! food wise... appetizer: * they serve chips & salsa free with every table. i was thinking of getting guacamole, but it was $18 which seemed quite expensive. * we started off with the mexican street corn (two grilled & fire-roasted cobs of corn (on or off), roasted garlic aioli, & queso fresco) and it was delicious, but in my opinion nothing too too special. my mom loved it, though! entrees: * i got the fish tacos (chef's fresh catch [mahi mahi] with shredded cabbage, chopped cilantro, onion, & chipotle aioli | served with rice, black beans, corn tortillas, & signature mango salsa) and the fish was SO good! perfectly cooked & juicy :) i will say, maybe a tad under salted but luckily they have salt & pepper at the table. i also asked for hot sauce & they gave tabasco & cholula :) the mango salsa was delicious, the rice was nice & fluffy, & i am very glad it came with black beans! * my sister & dad got the shareable size chicken fajitas (marinated & grilled chicken breast; southwestern favorites served with sizzling green peppers, tomatoes, onions, warm flour tortillas, crème fraîche, & guacamole; served with rice & beans) & it was so large they had some leftover to take home! granted, they did eat quite a bit of the chips & salsa & street corn :) they really enjoyed it! * my mom got the fajita salad with chicken (romaine lettuce, rice, shredded cheese, peppers, onions, tomatoes, avocado, crème fraîche, served in a crispy flour tortilla bowl; choice of grilled chicken breast or grilled steak) & it looked very yummy. basically the same as the fajitas but served in a crispy shell. she got ranch with it & enjoyed it a lot! overall, highly recommend. our server was very kind, attentive, & accurate. speedy food service, too, especially for how busy it was.

Ambiance: Casual vibe, indoor outdoor dining. We got a spot outside as we had a dog with us. Good Service! Food: We ordered Mexican street corn, chile releno platter and vegan street corn. Regular street corn was good, it still lacked flavors but felt fresh. Vegan street corn had a cashew dressing and it was bad. Chile releno platter was bland too! The rice that came with it was quite flavorful.. Parking: There is ample parking in the mall parking. We called ahead and made reservation. This place was packed.

This is a must visit for Mexican food and drinks if you are in Sedona. You also must have a reservation. We were seated right away. While others were turned away. Outside seating had heating lamps and they provided blankets. My parents and I ate here and we really enjoyed it. The service and food were both everything we could hope for. Their food menu and drink menu are extensive. Plenty of choices for everyone. The chicken fajitas were plentiful. A hot sizzling plate packed with grilled chicken and grilled onions, peppers, tomatoes. It was paired with rice, beans and quacamole. A dish of tortillas were on the side. The fajitia salad was equally generous. Packed with a huge portion of steak and everything you could dream of inside a fried flour tortlla shell. The chille relano was a huge hit with my dad. We left full. Remember make a reservation. My parents have been making one for years. It is kid and pet friendly. P.S. they have Pepsi

The hair stylist that did my hair for my wedding recommended I try Javelina Cantina and it did not disappoint! It was a beautiful day to eat outside and luckily tables were open and we were seated quickly! I made it my mission to drink a prickly pear margarita wherever I went and this one did not disappoint! For food I ordered an enchilada combo and my hubby ordered the birria grilled cheese. His was definitely better! I originally was interested in the mole tacos but wasn't sure if they'd be too spicy. Our server Ailyn was kind enough to let me try the mole sauce, but it was a bit too spicy for me. Food, views, and great service!

Thanks to the positive-&-helpful guy (I wish I'd caught his name) at the host desk who suggested a wonderfully-located table out on the patio (I wasn't even aware) when I'd requested to sit outside! We enjoyed dining alfresco, with nice views around us. Their complimentary chips and salsa was a nice starter. We enjoyed their tender-&-tasty Mexican Street Corn ($12). Hubby liked his margarita: The Mazarati (large $24). Initially, I intended to order a margarita, too, until I realized theirs included sweet & sour; therefore, I went with their Premium tequila flight ($50) -- incredibly fun and educational comparing the different notes among the 3 anejos! Our server was pleasant and unrushed but rather inattentive; it was difficult to simply request my water be refilled (which I would've happily refilled on my own had all of the outside pitchers not been empty). Unlike some restaurants I've experienced, there wasn't much teamwork among the staff (I was hoping to get someone else's attention in order to assist me). Outside of that, a fun find, offering indoor seating in a lively atmosphere and a peaceful option outside.

Our other dinner plans fell through and we ended up here. It was quite busy with a lively atmosphere, but thankfully we were given a table without a wait. Complimentary chips and salsa was bought out shortly after. I went with what seems to be a popular choice-Rotisserie Chicken & Goat Cheese Enchiladas, which is topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, creme friache, goat cheese crumbles, and a creamy corn sauce. It was also served with rice and black beans. The corn sauce was good with the chips. It was a hefty meal and I had enough leftovers for the next day. Service was ok- friendly, but it took awhile to get my water refilled.

I stopped by for lunch because it has been a few years since I've been here. My chile relleno and cheese enchilada plate was very good. Great service. Great location with amazing views. Still 4 solid stars!

We stopped at Javelina Cantina last Thursday because our daughter said it was her favorite restaurant in Sedona. It was a great choice! The restaurant wasn't very busy, even though it was lunchtime. We were seated promptly and our server, Angel, greeted us immediately. We placed our drink orders and chips and salsa were delivered to the table. They were excellent. I order the steak chile relleno burrito and my wife ordered the green corn tamales. Our orders came out almost immediately. Both were very good. We sat inside, but they have a nice patio with a pleasant view, so try that if the weather is good. We enjoyed Javelina Cantina and will stop in again when we're in Sedona.

We stopped in after a long day in Sedona. It was such a delicious meal and the portion sizes were HUGE. We definitely over ordered. I got the enchilada, corn tamale, bean dip, and queso kettle. We also ordered fajitas, tostadas. The food was amazing and so fresh! The service was pretty good as well. They were so busy, and parking was somewhat difficult.

Wow --super impressed with this place. Food was 10/10, we had 4 people planned to split 2 meals... after a few bites of the barria grilled cheese we ordered another one for the table. The carne asada enchiladas also amazing. Then got lava cake + birthday ice cream. The service was phenomenal & javalenias outside to feed too. Great vibes -- will be back

Good food and decent sized portions. Only downfall is that the place has quite an echo so it's hard to carry conversations there because it gets loud when they are busy. Pricing is decent, for 3 people, 1 appetizer, and 1 pop. Total was about $101 without tip.

Great place after a long day of hiking! Sitting out on the patio is nice. Service is decent and food comes out pretty quickly. The prickly pear soda is very refreshing and my friend's prickly pear margarita was very strong (according to her). Chips and salsa was complimentary but we ordered the queso and it didn't disappoint. I got the fajita salad and it was very tasty and large in size. The prices are a bit on the expensive side, but I get it - it's Sedona and they rely on tourists. Hope to come back!

Javelina Cantina was a GREAT option for a large family dinner in Sedona! I called about 2 weeks ahead of time and they were more than happy to accommodate our party of 14. When we arrived we were quickly greeted by the hosted and taken to our table which was in a glass walled room next to the patio area. The manager quickly asked about the temperature and offered to turn down the A/C and increase the speed of the ceiling fan above our table. This alone was a great touch because it was 90 degrees outside and we had just come from an outdoor memorial. Our waiter came to the table and talked through the menu along with his recommendations for drinks and food. Some of us ordered margaritas, one ordered win, some beer, and of course sodas for the teens. Everyone was very happy with their drinks and said they were tasty. I ordered a spicy margarita, and when it came I asked the waiter if he could make it a bit spicier. He said, "Absolutely!" and came back in 5mins with a cup of muddled jalepeno in honey and simple syrup, and boy did that add the perfect amount of spice that I was looking for! When I ordered the second round he made the margarita himself and once again it was perfection. For the food orders we were all over the place, and no one was disappointed! Within our party we had the Del Mar salad (delicious and full of shrimp), birria grilled cheese (huge portion!), fajitas, chimichanga, fish tacos, quesadilla, street corn, wings (seriously spicy, like could barely handle one wing lol), and queso dip (one of the best I've had). Unfortunately I did not get pictures of everything as we were all chit chatting and enjoying ourselves. But believe me - this place is a MUST TRY! It was easy to find just outside of Tilaquepaque, and the price point was the most reasonable out in Sedona. Overall we will definitely be back, and Javelina Cantina left a great impression on all of our out of town guests!

Look no further if you are wanting a good wholesome Mexican meal in Sedona and a spacious restaurant - went here both the times i visited Sedona this year, I love their salsa and guacamole. I ordered the chili relleno andand the vegetarian tacos. Both were super filling and delicious. Could even take the leftovers to go. Their mango margarita drink was Yum and the ambience is perfect for both daytime and nighttime. The portion sizes are bigger so you might be good for another meal.

The food was decent, but I was expecting better based on the reviews and pictures. My chicken fajitas were a bit too dry and bland--they could definitely use a stronger marinade for more flavor. The wait time was very long, which was disappointing, but the beautiful view from the outdoor terrace made up for it. Our server was friendly, but I think she forgot about our table since larger parties seated much later got their food before us.

We started with the jalapeno poppers which were great. The chimichangas were very large and the service was quite attentive without being too much or too little. Overall, I'd recommend them & would go back if in the area.

Three years ago, on a dark summer night, my husband and I stopped by a random Mexican place on our way to the Grand Canyon. That Mexican dinner stayed with us for years, and we swore to bring our kids back someday, when we all visited Arizona together. Reader, today was the day, and Javelina Cantina DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Starting off, you'd expect the complimentary chips and salsa. What you don't expect is how fresh and bright this salsa is. No joke I've been comparing all other salsas to this one for the past three years. Kids ordered quesadillas and enchiladas with chicken off the kids menu, which come with complimentary soft drink. My husband ordered the chille rell burrito, which he liked, and I ordered the chicken fajitas, which were delivered from the kitchen in a sizzling cast iron plate. We asked to be seated by the window; the rainy clouds obscured the view, but it couldn't be helped. Our server was friendly, helpful, and willing to accommodate my children's request for pink lemonade (by mixing fruit punch and lemonade). Overall, this was a great experience and we were so happy to share Javelina Cantina with our kiddos!

We were seated outside on the balcony and the view was incredible. We were served very quickly, and we had our food within 15 minutes of sitting down. They give you free chips and salsa, which were very good. We both ordered their chicken tamales, but I got the red sauce and my dad got the green sauce. Both were incredible! They came with rice and refried beans. We were very happy with the food, ambiance, and service. Would definitely come back.

My husband and I went to Javelina's for dinner on a Saturday night. One of my favorite things about the restaurant was their patio with a view. They have a large menu with lots of options including vegan and vegetarian options. We started with the queso dip. I wasn't too impressed with this queso. It wasn't bad but it lacked flavor. I got the shrimp fajitas as my main dish and they were delicious. It was a very large portion which was nice since I had leftovers. Our food came out quickly even though the restaurant was busy and our server was very nice as well. Javelinas is worth a stop!

Complimentary chips and Salsa Margarita samples - jalapeño one was interesting. Prickly pear was my favorite. Chicken Mole - tender chicken and good Mole sauce. Chili Relleno with red and green sauce. Very good but on the pricey side. Red sauce is boring. Green sauce was really good. You can also add beef Machaca for $5 which makes it less pricy because of the meat. Heehee. Beef Fajitas- beef was well seasoned but dried and tough. And there were more bell peppers and onions than beef. Not my favorite. Flan - disappointed. Churros - very hard like it was from a frozen package or something. Probably one of the worse in all the Mexican restaurants that I have visited. Not recommended. Chicken Mole Enchilada- tender chicken and good Mole sauce. Chili Relleno - really good. I also added Beef Machaca for extra $5. highly recommended. Beef Fajitas- beef was well seasoned but dried and tough. And there were more bell peppers and onions than beef. Not my favorite. I really want to give to give this place a 3.5. The margaritas are pre-made and they just add whatever flavor you choose. I added the prickly pear and it was syrupy and thick. My husband had the basic HH margarita, and then got a Cadillac margarita, and that was much better. We had the HH nachos, which were loaded with meat, cheese, beans, tomatoes, avacado, and cream. We got the chicken at the bar tender's suggestion and it was a good choice. Bartender was initially cold, but warmed up and interacted more as we asked questions. It looks like a lot of locals go there. Not super authentic Mexican food like we're used to in SoCal, but a good meal if you go in with an open mind.

In town from New York. Reservation was for 6:30 and we got there at 6:00 and they got us right in. Food was excellent and came very quickly. Angelica was our waitress and she was the best!!! Would go back again just to have her as our server. Thanks!!!

A Plan B re-direct from our original dinner plans that went astray- while the meal was hearty- it had a definite backup plan, would not have been my first choice, vibe- Arriving, we were seated at a side high top & brought very fresh chips & salsa ( probably the best part of the meal) The ambiance was ok because while they have a large sectioned out space, they really pack people in creating high congestion areas & lots of noise- for example, while all the bar seats were taken, they allowed a lot of people to just stand around the bar behind the seats, creating crowded space & people bumping into our section as well- I ordered the catfish relleno, the waitress asked me red or green chili- I said xmas style- my husband ordered the triple combo platter- I didn't sample any of my husband's meal, so I can't speak to the flavor, but my meal was very under seasoned- the rice & beans were generic plain- I would have added salt & pepper, but our table had none- and our waitress never came to check in on us- The fish cut was very small, barely stuffed with cheese or peppers- I smothered in the xmas sauces for a bit of a profile- When we got our bill, I was surprised to discover I was charged $2 for each sauce (red & green)- I asked why, and she said chili salsa wasn't a part of the meal it was an add on-I explained, I never really asked to add it on at cost, I ordered- she asked red or green, that implied it was part of the meal & I had a choice, not do you want to add on chili red or green- she ended up taking it off our bill, but gave me an awkward speech about how 'this one time I will allow it coming off because you did order it'- so it felt very frustrating experience. Wouldn't recommend at the prices- busyness- and lacking flavor food-

Ramon was awesome, would rate 6 of 5 if possible ... food was good, Ramon was the best!! Love coming here for my annual birthday binge and I always leave fat and happy, flan is so good, queso is ridiculously awesome

Heads up They refill your chips only twice. This can be a surprise for the Texans out there. The salsa was fresh but not spicy. The queso tasted great. I enjoyed the chili relleno salmon but it was not what I expected a chili was not included nor was it stuffed with cheese. There is nice patio seating.

I'm going to break this review down into three parts. Part one: The Servers. We had the pleasure of having "Mango" as our server and let me just say, wow. This is not your typical server at a restaurant. He is the friendliest server you will ever meet and actually cares about your food preferences and what you like. He recommended my girlfriend and I each dishes and when they came out I was so impressed at how good they were with him only asking a few questions about what we like to eat. He was such a great server we came back a second night and will be returning every trip to Sedona. Part two: The Food. Let me start by saying this ain't your typical Mexican cuisine. The chef makes special dishes that will explode your tastebuds. I had the chefs enchiladas and chimichangas and they were phenomenal. I also had a mango daiquiri and will be thinking about that every single day until I'm back. Part three: The Vibe. In this restaurant you have incredible views of Sedona and are met with a cozy comfort while inside or outside on the patio. I would give this a 10/10 for views and comfortable seating. All in all, this was a phenomenal place and Mango is the best server I've had at any restaurant before. Talk about someone who cares about people, that's your guy! 10/10 experience.

I just left the restaurant, having experienced a wonderful meal, incredible service and a friendly ambiance. I needed to find a perfect spot to stage a wedding rehearsal dinner, an opportunity for our new family to gather and enjoy wonderful food, beautiful scenic surroundings and incredible service. Our server, John 'Mango' was so attentive, he shared his story and that of the chef, he was so outstanding and his love for his job was so apparent. This gathering was planned for sometime, it was the right decision and my high expectations were exceeded. Thank you to the staff at Javelins Cantina, John you made the gathering the wedding group will long remember

This was our first dinner stop in Sedona. We did not have reservations and were able to sit inside right away. The menu is extensive and they have a lot of tasty sounding options. I went with the goat cheese and chicken enchiladas and I was not disappointed. It was very creamy, flavorful and I really enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the food came out lukewarm. The service was friendly and very attentive. We definitely enjoyed our meal here.

If you're fortunate enough to get one of the rare tables with a view, that helps the visit. They do have outdoor seating but it was raining the day we ate there. The service was good but the food was ok, not horrible but not excellent either. As for the margaritas, they were much too limey for me.

Overall: 3/5 Food: 2/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 4/5 The location was in a beautiful area surrounded by Sedona's natural beauty. The food left much to be desired. All of the food we had was barely warm and not that great. It was a Tex-Mex vibe. The restaurant itself and the staff were nice but it was not worth the price in my opinion.

Heyyyyy you guyyyyyys! We stopped in for lunch, we sat outside our server was very attentive. I had a spicy margarita with tajin, the salsa is really good, bold but not spicy. Had a salad with blackened shrimp, shrimp tacos and elote. Others dining with me didn't care for the refried beans and the fish tacos were overcooked. Overall it was a decent experience food wise, nothing over the top. Good service, nice decor.

The food at the Javelina Cantina in Sedona is innovative Mexican. The creativity of flavors and presentation is a delicious step above! If you are very, very lucky, Ramon will be your server. He'll turn that hangry face into a carefree happy face ! His cocktail and dessert recommendations were spot on. We were casual, just finished a 5 hour drive to get here and we fit in perfectly with all the families and groups of all ages. Views?? Magnificent!! Both on the outdoor patio and in. You'll love it!

Very busy but cozy restaurant. It is located in a shopping center with lots of parking. there is indoor and outdoor seating. we arrived at 6 pm on a saturday with no reservation. we were told it was a 30 minute wait but we could sit at the bar which is full service with no wait. we sat at the bar which has a happy hour. we were served our drinks and food very fast. we ordered a margherita and a rum and coke. we were given chips and salsa to start which they refilled multiple times. we both ordered the carne asada tacos which were delicious. very affordable prices for the amount of food you are given. will definitely be returning again

Javelina is always a must when we're in town. The food is consistently great, the atmosphere is warm, the staff and service is welcoming, and in a place like Sedona--where so much is constantly changing--Javelina stays reliably amazing in all the best ways. We love how they keep things fresh by rolling with the times, offering trending dishes and creative new recipes that keep our taste buds happy. This place has truly become a second home for us. Can't recommend it enough! This trip I got the Quesabirria tacos, the elote appetizer and a watermelon margarita the size of my head.

Love their margs. Amazingggg house made chips and salsa. Birra tacos were good but more like birria quesadillas than the crispy outer cheese edge I prefer on a good queso Birria. Very fresh produce, Mango makes a mean marg!

We're visiting from Tampa, where we have a wide mix of Hispanic food options, so we were excited to try this spot. The flavors in my salad were good, but the shrimp wasn't cooked, which was disappointing. Our server was great, though--quick to offer solutions and genuinely helpful. My partner had the enchiladas with rice and beans, and while everything was fine, it wasn't especially memorable. Same for the queso. The margarita was the standout of the meal--really well done. Overall, it felt a bit pricey for the experience and the lack of bold flavor. Three stars.

I'm still dreaming about the asada enchiladas at Javelina. These may have been the best enchiladas I've ever had. I couldn't decide between the carne or pollo so our waiter suggested I try one of each. Even after eating them, I still couldn't choose a favorite. I just knew that the steak and chunks of chicken were so much better than the typical shredded meat often found in enchiladas. It's rare that I finish a meal at a restaurant but I couldn't get enough of these! The rice, which I got a double helping of as I can't stand beans, was also amazing. My boyfriend ordered the veggie burrito with enchilada sauce and we both indulged in oversized margaritas and complimentary chips and salsa. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Sedona.

I will preface this review by saying that if I was writing this on the sole basis of Ambiance and Service this would be a 5 out of 5 but sadly my review is going to be more comprehensive hence the 3 out of 5 rating. Service: We were waited on my Edgar who was courteous and very helpful in our ordering. My family is traveling with my parents and they like to learn about the history of the places they eat at especially one like Javelina that has been around for 25 years or so. He was very helpful. Ambiance: The space is very nice (and if you like outdoor and don't want AC there is a nice balcony) and a middle ground where we were which was the patio that was covered and air conditioned. The partial sunset and rock views are nice here. Food: Despite the great service and ambiance, the food was underwhelming. Apps: --------- * Guacamole: This was the only part of the meal that had good taste. * Salsa: We got the red salsa which was bland (though chunky) and had to request a spicy version which was decent. * Tortilla chips: Were FRESH and decent Mains: ---------- * Chicken Enchilada: My wife got this and I had a bite. The sauce was this bland white sauce which was just OK. * Blackened Catfish Releno: My parents split this and they seemed to like it (I did not have a taste of this) * Quesabira Street Tacos: I got this and I have to say the meat had a funky (fattty) taste and it was not great. The beans were over done and the rice lacked taste. I couldn't finish my meal; for reference this is my favorite usually and I finish it at most places. * Carne Asada Street Tacos (x2): Both my kids got this and it was OK. The reason why the food, in my opinion, was UNDERWHELMING was the price. If they are going to charge the prices they charged us (see bill), the food was underwhelming and I would not go here again.

The reason for the 4 star....Chips and salsa were great! The enchiladas and chili relleno were also great! We had great service also. The not so great was the smell of sewer by the restrooms, the tables seemed dirty and even behind the tables on the shelves there were chips laying on them. We would come back but a deep cleaning really needs to happen.

The food is amazing, and they have the best margaritas in town. The owner is actively involved in the community, and the customer service is always top-notch.

Great location close to uptown and center of Sedona. This place has great views and a very nice staff. Vegan and vegetarian options are available. We have ate here 4-5x and every visit has been a good experience. Best place for lunch or at sunset.

Ugh! This review breaks my heart. I've been coming to Javelinas over the years since probably 2012. I visited today and I finally had the realization that I don't like the changes they've made and don't think I'll be back. My table shared the asada nachos, jalapeño poppers, and the blackened catfish relleno. It was 81$ (with tip). The food was mediocre and didn't taste special. With the nachos, they were burnt and there was no where near enough toppings. For 25$ nachos, I expect way more. The catfish relleno had no salt, spice, or flavor. I ended up using cholula and table salt to try and fix it, but it left me feeling unsatisfied. I wish them the best, but this place isn't for me anymore. It definitely feels like they're catering to a specific tourist and tax bracket.

The food is OK. The service at the door it's bad We came in and some guy with a ponytail said it was 45 minutes to an hour. We decided to wait, then we notice there were so many open tables and the staff was just standing there!

Great service and delicious food. Had the shrimp enchiladas special for lunch and enjoyed the best homemade blue corn tortillas ever!! That with the picadillo...amazing. Husband had red/green cheese chili rellenos and those were pretty good too. Glad we stopped!!
