I would highly recommend Javier’s! The food was absolutely delicious, and the presentation was spot on. The atmosphere was lively and full of great energy, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We started with the ceviche, which was fresh and packed with flavor, and then tried the steak fajitas—honestly, they were some of the best fajitas I’ve ever had. While I’m not sure how authentic they were, the flavors were spot-on, and the meat was incredibly tender. A fantastic spot all around!

Great service starts right as you walk up. The hostess was smiling and welcoming. As you walk through the entrance you're immediately entering a cool vibe of high end Mexican Beach Resort and Spanish club music. The view immediately grabs your attention, as well as the distinct understanding that you are at the coolest place in OC. This place is definitely a vibe! But even the drinks are super cool and the presentation chic. One bite into my shrimp ceviche and I knew this place was more than looks. Albert, our server, have hear service and tended to all of our needs. Every single thing here was done the right. If you want high end service with quality food and a hip atmosphere, this is the place!

Let me first say that the views are gorgeous! But they pack people in like sardines!!! The four of us all felt extremely claustrophobic with people seated on both sides of us so close. We had 4:30 reservations and man we are happy we had the reservation. The drinks are great (margaritas, expresso martinis and lemon drops). All excellent! And the food was all very, very tasty. Truly my only complaint is the loud music and the crowded feeling. The atmosphere is beautiful but it is hard to appreciate it all when there’s hundreds of people crammed in.

Google
The food here is absolutely incredible! The churros with dulce de leche and the seafood taco dish were out of this world. Every bite was packed with flavor. The cocktails were equally amazing—creative and perfectly balanced. The ambiance is stunning, making it a great spot for a night out. However, the service left much to be desired. It was very slow, and our server seemed rude and bothered throughout the experience, which took away from the otherwise fantastic evening. If they can improve the service, this place would be flawless. The food and drinks are definitely worth it, though!

Google
Easily the most expensive Mexican restaurant I've ever been to outside of Mexico, and definitely the most bougie. Fire pits everywhere, and fantastic looking bars, including one with ocean views. I took the enchilada seafood trio, and it was fantastic. Service was impeccable, very professional and helpful. Worth it for the ambiance alone, but the whole package is flawless.

We had the pleasure to experience an amazing dinner at Javier's on 1/24. The atmosphere is truly beautiful, feeling as if you are somewhere else, quite unique and breathtaking. Our server, Todd, shared his friendly & caring personality with us and made the night even more enjoyable. The food is definitely delicious and worth every penny. My gorgeous date had a smile on her face all evening and I couldn't have asked for a better place than Javier's. This will become a must visit every trip to Orange County. Thank you to the wonderful team their for the accomodations and perfect night.

Google
Javier’s new remodel encapsulates this amazing ambiance all around you! All workers were extremely friendly and helpful in menu choices as well as constantly being on top of refilling water and chips/salsa. The food is outstanding, the Dungeness crab and shrimp enchilada was packed full with flavor and you can still taste the seafood with the sauce and cheese all around it. I think with how they took a decent amount of time in between appetizers and entrees could be a bit contrasting in the eyes of the beholder, however we had a bigger group so they pushed all the food out at once which made it much better than waiting for individual plates, and you can fill up on more chips and salsa in the meantime. Overall amazing experience and I’ll be coming back soon

Google
Top notch service. Friendly, fast, accommodating. We opted to sit in a booth facing the ocean. It was well lit with a spectacular view. We had margaritas and wine, and the seafood enchiladas were superb!

Amanda G.

Yelp
Javier's never disappoints! We had not been since their remodel, and it is so pretty! The view cannot be beat and the look gave Tulum vibes. I loved the ambiance. Our server and all waitstaff were very friendly. The food is always fire! The aguachile had great flavor and huge scallops. The enchilada trio had 1 crab, 1 lobster, and 1 shrimp. All had so much flavor and such wonderful sauces.

Yelp
Today was my birthday, & it fell on a Tuesday, the day of the week that I was actually born. So i tried my best to make the day as flawless as possible. This day just represented SO MUCH to ME! I could've chose other high end restaurants to celebrate but I chose Javier's Crystal Cove because of the new re-model and honestly it's just one of my favorite easy going restaurants. Surprisingly, for a Tuesday this location was busier than expected, I called ahead of time just thinking I'd "make them aware" of a large party coming but to my surprise, this location took reservations AND they only had a 5pm or 9pm available. I was hoping for a 7:30pm reservation but since they didn't have it, we took the 5pm. At arrival the hostesses were pretty dry and straight forward about not sitting us until "everyone" was present. 5 of us were there but 2 of them were maybes due to the anticipated time changing to 5pm instead of 7:30. But for the sake of trying not to kill the vibe, we just agreed to sit down without our 2 maybe's. They sat us at this booth which was comfortable for 4 people but one person had to sit with a chair in front of the table. We asked if possible could we move to a table that was right by us so we'd have a little more elbow room & they told us no because that table was for 9 people.... So for some reason, They sent a manager over and he was just as dry as the hostesses. I didn't get his name but he was wearing a Grey suit with powder blue tie. He asked if we had a question so my brother pointed to the table asking if we could move there and he literally just said "noooo " then walked off. The reason for my frustration is... maybe an hour later, a party of 6 sat at that SAME EXACT TABLE that we wanted. Then about 30 minutes later we saw a 7th person sit at that table.... So they let 6 people sit there!!???? & they let THEM sit without their "whole party" being present!!?? Not cool at all!! My bday dinner vibe was killed. Our waiter Cuco was very nice and attentive and he helped make things feel a little better. But what really sealed the deal was when 1 of my "maybes" sent over a bottle of champagne to our table once she realized she couldn't make it. Kevin who was another Supervisor, brought the champagne over himself and poured each glass for us. He was AWESOME!! Very personable!! My other "maybe" ended up making it toward the end of the dinner, she squeezed in our booth and ordered a quick quesadilla and ate chips and salsa. The website says 20% gratuity is charged for parties of 6 or more but since my cousin sat with us for literally 30 minutes, they charged us a 20% gratuity. SMH, kinda tasteless in my opinion but we didn't fight it because none of us wanted to kill the vibes again. I overlooked the recent reviews about the sketchy service at this location because I wanted to have my own experience, plus I've been to this location before & have never been treated this way. But in hindsight I'm thinking maybe I just never really paid as close attention before because I usually go to this location for a mid day lunch.... but I can now say for myself that this experience was below par. The 2 stars are for Cuco & Kevin. My advice, be cautious with this location if you're celebrating something that's special to you. I can't say that I'll never be back but I can say that if i do, I'll sit at the bar to enjoy the ocean view, new remodel, and the food.

Juliann T.

Yelp
The renovations look great and have a lot of thought put in to It, I had watched a video about how you can see the ocean from both bars. The new design is very intentional. Food wise, the salsa and guacamole were a hit and the enchiladas Del Mar trio was great.

Kirsten S.

Yelp
You pay for the ambience. This place makes you feel like you're in a high end resort in Cabo. I want to go back for the views. The food and drinks are overpriced but again you pay for the ambience and coastal views. I paid $92 for the Trio Enchilada (crab, shrimps lobster), guava margarita and a 20% tip. Chips and salsa are complimentary. Our server Jhonathan was excellent and our other servers filling our water and chips were always available!

Teresa T.

Yelp
Amazing Remodel!! But strongly recommend waiting until the buzz dies down because it is annoyingly crowded and busy. We went Friday night and had to wait outside in a huge crowd of a gazillion people seemingly all with BBL's They said they were just too busy but the whole point of going early was to hang out at the bar and have a few drinks!! Also the parking I don't know what happened but you used to feel the park in the parking lot at Krystle Cove last time. I drove there to meet some girlfriends. I had to park all the way at the Trader Joe's and circled around for 15 or 20 minutes just to find a stupid parking place and then had to walk in dumb hills all the way to Javier's. So it's a beautiful gorgeous amazing remodel like out of this world. But I'm only gonna go there on a Monday to Wednesday around three or four for six months.

Jane T.

Yelp
Pricy but worth it for the vibes! This location just reopened and it's gorgeous. Make sure you make a reservation because it gets busy. My favorite dishes: Mole poblano Lobster enchiladas White fish ceviche I also love their rice and beans (both types although the black beans are my favorite). Service can be kind of slow.

Tamara N.

Yelp
After my one dinning experience at the century city location it was not worth returning. However this location is one of my fav restaurants in Cali now. Ambiance, food and service are all 5 stars.

Celene R.

Yelp
If I'm basing this review solely on the view it's a 5 out of 5. But there's more to a dining experience than just that. Service was subpar. Our waiter introduced himself and rarely came back to take an order so I had to flag someone down to do so. The food was spicy and not disclosed. So much so I couldn't eat past one or two bites. What I'm getting at is - you go here for the view!! It's sensational if you get a table close enough. The new renovation brings you to a luxury resort in Cabo. You are transported. So yes, it's a great spot for appetizers (non spicy and a margarita or two $21).

Charlie G.

Yelp
Food: 5.0 Everything was delicious, Suave Tacos, Enchiladas, Service: 5.0 very friendly and accommodating staff. Rey, was very polite and understanding to our needs. Ambiance: 5.0 Breath taking, Beautiful Ocean Views

Cassie C.

Yelp
Still the best. It's recently been updated which is crazy because it was already so cool Inside. Can't wait to try it now.

Lisa E.

Yelp
Love the new look! The only downside to the model is you need reservations to sit at the main bar. It is not first come first serve. The serve has always been great here! We arrived at 11:15 and waited for them to open. Only could self seat at the small bar inside. Had a couple of bloody Mary's and ordered the Agua chile. Agua chile was great except for one thing. A huge pet peeve of mine- the shrimp were not cleaned! Definitely made me a little grossed out but for the price u gotta eat it even if you need to clean the shrimp yourself I also mentioned it to the bar tender and asked why they don't clean the shrimp. They avoided my question and carried on. I don't think I would order it again unless I knew it would be clean. 4 stars for the new look and service. 5 if the shrimp would have been cleaned

Hayedeh D.

Yelp
We go to this place for the ambiance mostly. The food and the drinks are definitely not worth the price. It's just marginal Mexican food and overpriced drinks with mostly ice. To top that off, they don't allow you to sit at the outside bar unless you have a reservation. We didn't know that, so we walked up to the var only to be faced by a very rude man who acted like he owned the place and we were trespassing!!! We walked out immediately and I don't think I'll be going back. There are much nicer restaurants with better food in the area that don't cost you your first born to eat there.

Sonila S.

Yelp
Such a beautiful restaurant! Views are beautiful and the vibes are amazing. Loved the open space made me feel like i was in mexico on a vacation! The chicken takitos are delicious and omg you must try the tres leche cake it's a must! Place is packeddd so there might some wait but it's worth it ! service is amazing ! This is a must try restaurant when you're in town.

Ann V.

Yelp
First time here... the place is beautiful renovated. I love that they were able to accommodate our large party of (14) in a beautiful round table. Management was awesome, it was a busy Wednesday night and 4 extra people ended coming along, they worked to get us a table. Highly recommend making reservations it's definitely busy. I ordered the Guayaba drink it was more in the bitter side than sweet but it was good. The camarón enchiladas were delicious as well. The staff was awesome.

Tracy Y.

Yelp
Very upscale Mexican restaurant...Everyone dresses very well. Definitely a place to be scene. The food is good. We come here mostly for the great vibes and atmosphere. The service is fine. Will be going back soon.

Connie R.

Yelp
Had a reservation at 7:30 had it pushed back an hour because they over booked the whole place . Food was 5/10 basic flavor Drinks 10/10 Servers where great 10/10 Ambiance was beautiful It's overrated in my opinion

Karen C.

Yelp
The remodel is gorgeous. Food is as fabulous as ever. Service is prompt and always with a smile. We love this place.

Rachel N.

Yelp
Decided to finally try our Javier's, especially this one since it had been remodeled and opened! It wasn't too busy, I came here with my husband on a Wednesday afternoon. Food- As for food, my husband for the 'Salmón Al Sartén'. It was kinda fishy, my husband didn't even need to tell me it tasted fishy, because I was able to even smell it. However, it was good I guess. As for myself, I got the 'Enchilada & Taco' I got both chicken. It was soo good! The flavor was in every bite. As for the beans, it was okay.. not really my fav. However, everything else was soo good. They gave us complimentary chips with salsa, it was also very good!! The salsa is a tad spicy but not too much. As for our first time trying out Javier's food. It was a good experience. Service- Prior to coming here, I read some reviews that said how poorly the service is and how they got treated differently because they seemed like they didn't have money. However, our experience was totally different. Idk if it's because my husband is very fluent in Spanish and got well with our hostess, but it was a nice experience. As we walked in, we were immediately seated, and were able to pick between inside our outdoor seated. Gladly we picked outdoors because of the beautiful views we have seen. In and outside is all beautiful and has its own little touch! Our server was the absolute best! He was so accommodating and always made sure we were having a good experience. Overall, I absolutely loved it. I would say, other people have a bad experience because it was either a weekend or a busy weekday especially when they had just probably opened. But I loved it.

Joleen S.

Yelp
Ehhhhh HARD PASS. I'd rather go to Red-O. My review is solely based on the phone conversation I had earlier on last week and it's mainly to point out that the lack of professionalism the individuals who answer the phone have. After hearing so many good things from girlfriends who recently visited the remodeled location, I decided to give Javier's a call. Even though it took me 10 tries to get someone to answer, when I was able to say hello, the hostess hung up on me not once, not twice, not three times, or four times but ha! You guessed it, five times!!!! Let alone, on the 6th call, when I asked if I could make reservations, the hostess did not say hello, she only waited in silence with noise in the background and said we're fully committed and then hung up!! Not sure what kind of training Javier provides for their employees but I wouldn't want to be served here if the first point of contact is similar to the phone conversation or interaction I had. It's a complete shame because even though the remodel is what draws people in, their reviews will continue to be lower than average because customer service and phone etiquette is absolutely wretched!

Gary R.

Yelp
I've been to Javier's multiple times, but now, with the new remodel of Javier's, it is fantastic! No complaints! Hands down, very nice place! The service was excellent, the drinks were great, and last but not least, the food was terrific! The vibe hasn't changed and it is a great place to go to. I highly recommend this place!

Sonny F.

Yelp
We've been longtime customers of Javiers. Let me say the remodel is gorgeous, we totally love what they did to spruce things up, and provide a better ocean view. While the food is still delicious with great plate presentation, we cannot believe they changed their fabulous chips. The new chips must go! They are horrible with no flavor and a terrible mouth-feel. Please someone at Javi's make the correct executive decision and go back to the old chips ASAP!! Thanks!!

Anthony Q.

Yelp
The new extension makes Javier's that much better . The ambience is unique, we sat on the side facing PCH and to enjoy dinner with the ocean breeze is tranquil . We are going again

Ray J.

Yelp
They have a terrible attitude and that's enough to give them a one star. A full service restaurant is expected to all 4, food, service and ambiance There food and ambience is good. Just need a little attitude adjustment

Phil D.

Yelp
I've tried to call here 10 times to make reservations and they basically say you can come in for lunch but not for dinner. There is no online reservations. Even in NYC where restaurant are really good, you can make a reservation with a $50 app no show fee. This is just really expensive, average flavored, beans, rice, veges, steak, fish, pork, chicken and avocado spread with a nice view. So I'm not sure if this really qualifies as a review but the people on the telephone are consistently pretty darn rude I would love to try here again as we came here before the pandemic and the food was too good If anybody has ideas on how to get reservations on a Sunday night at 7 o'clock, please reply

Ailene R.

Yelp
Restaurant has a large parking lot, valet available. The interior is huge & spectacular, very tropical modern. There are 2 bars, several seating areas, some with ocean views. Just know that the Pacific Coast hwy is btwn the restaurant & the beach. The Hostess was very friendly & accomodated us with an ocean view. The service is good, did take a bit for someone to come take our drink order, but after that they stepped it up. The Cuisine is a modern take on Mexican with many dishes made with seafood. Sadly the side dishes of rice & beans were bland tasting and had to be ordered separately. Margaritas are their specialty but to be honest, the taste was not as spectacular as I had hoped. All in all it was a nice but expensive experience.

Vanessa P.

Yelp
Made reservations for Father's Day at 11am, 2 ppl from our party were caught in traffic and ended up being almost 40 mins late but thankfully the hostess was still able to accommodate us. We were very grateful on such a busy day. We had cocktails at the bar while waiting and they were excellent as usual. I had the tamarindo margarita and I loved the unique flavor. We were sat in the new patio area and it was beautiful, very open, well lit from the sun and not too crowded or loud. The food was amazing as we all ordered a variety of items. For dessert we tried the churros and ice cream which were really fresh and delicious. The service was excellent (our waitress was Darlene) and the wait staff was fast and efficient as well as helpful with suggestions. All around this restaurant is a nice place to venture too close to crystal cove and a cute shopping center. We will return soon!

Yelp
Después de $1000 dlls de cuenta Nos negaron -agua solo por que nos corrieron por no dejar a hiedras hijas tomar un cap de La mesa y Yael Rápidamente Es racismo somos Hispanos por eso ??

Lacey G.

Yelp
The food is so good, the service is wonderful and the view of the ocean is unbeatable. We love coming to Javier's.

Rachel F.

Yelp
I ordered the Enchilada Suizas and as I bit into the second enchilada I bit onto a bone about the size of a nickel. I could of cracked a tooth, choked, etc. I mentioned it to the bartender who was like "Well that can happen" he asked if I would like to speak to a manager, I said "Yes I would." The lack of attention and dismissive approach to my meal was unbelieveable. There was no apology, we will take care of your meal, NOTHING! It was all excuses, that can happen, every so often one can slip by. Excuse me but I am paying $32 for just two enchiladas and you can't make sure there are no bones in my meal (and a good sized on at that)? I had to ask well can you at least charge me for just the one enchilada I ate. Which they did. One of the worst experiences I've ever had. To say I left with a bad taste in my mouth is an understatement.

Alexis M.

Yelp
Javier's is an elevated Mexican cuisine restaurant that gives me lounge vibes with the gorgeous interior. Located right by the water, it has a prime location for sunset views. It is located across the street from a shopping center so parking is easy but they also have valet service. Service is professional and friendly. They have an extensive list of hand-shaken margaritas, tequilas, and craft cocktails. They are pricey and I was not super impressed by them. For food, I shared the La Tabilta. It is perfect for 2-3 people and is quite the spectacle. Your choice of 2 proteins (skirt steak, carnitas or grilled chicken breast) served with rice, refried beans, guacamole, salsa, green onions and tortillas. The steak is a MUST!! I loved this fajita style platter and I would definitely return for it!

Jordan W.

Yelp
We just went for the first time since they remodeled and absolutely loved it! We were seating in one of the new booths that were so soft and so comfortable. We had the taquitos app that was delicious. They didn't warn us that they were a little spicy so our kids were a little surprised. Although we knew beforehand that it wasn't a very kid friendly restaurant, we still brought the toddlers to celebrate Father's Day with us. And the Carne Tampiqueña was cooked perfectly. Service was great and we were seated only a couple min after our reservation time. We look forward to going back without the kids next time we're in town!

Julia G.

Yelp
We came to Javier's this Saturday the 8th for a bachelorette. I ordered the chicken chipotle and it was terrible and dry. I took one bite and sent it back while telling them the chicken was dry and bland they did nothing about it.

Marnie K.

Yelp
Wonderful experience. Really authentic food. Great crowd if you want to people watch. The ribeye is good. The rice and beans were awesome. The salsa is some of the best I have had.

Laurel T.

Yelp
First off, this place is gorgeous, it has prime real estate, the parking is excellent (they offer valet for a price / private parking yourself for free and it's in a cute shopping center along with another Newport staple - Mastros ocean club When we first walked in we were immediately seated in a booth. We did call ahead to make reservations. For this particular location you can't make the reservation online and have to personally call. The atmosphere, again, is gorgeous. It's the reason why people come here for date night, birthdays, girls night out and other occasions. Our waiter was extremely attentive and helpful. I'm a sucker for my water always being refilled (that's how you get brownie points with me) He immediately brought out the chips and salsa. The salsa is a perfect consistency and with the perfect amount of spice. The chips were perfectly salted and fresh (The chips are free here and I would say the salsa is medium heat) Also, wanted to note we came here at an odd hour for a late lunch. And it was still crowded. We ordered the- Beef taquitos which had a gorgeous presentation. But I'll be honest, I didn't think their beef was seasoned and it could have used some more flavor to it Then we both ordered the 1 enchilada and 1 taco combo which came with beans and rice Also had to try an order of their fries since I did not even know they had them here The total for the bill was right under 100 dollars for the birthday lunch (pre tip) (I honestly thought this price was extremely reasonable) When you come to a place like this expect to pay a decent amount considering the gorgeous location in Crystal cove. Especially if you come at the perfect time and get to watch the sunset. Overall, I highly recommend this place. It truly is a gorgeous place. I have no idea why the low rating when it's a great location, fast and friendly service and the food / drinks are delicious. I think we came during a shift change because we started with one waiter and then another one took care of us. The name on the bill said Omar. Again, when you come to a place like this expect really great service. 5 stars for Omar and the other staff who took care of us

Lauren M.

Yelp
Jhonathan P. made sure to provide the worst customer service I received at any Javier's location. The first issue was that my food came out 20 minutes later after the other person in my parties food came out. They said that they had delivered my meal to another table. I was also served dirty utensils. The next incident was that when it was time to go everyone else around me was getting their food bagged up for them, my server Jonathan proceeds to just drop my bag and box on the table. I guess I wasn't deserving enough to have my food boxed up. The third issue came when our bill came. They double charged us for the enchilada trios meal and try to disguise it as one meal being charged. So for the meal that they made me wait an extra 20 minutes for, they refused to comp the meal. The manager said that they don't comp meals. I'm 8 months pregnant and this was my last meal before I delivered my babies and Javier's gave me the worst possible experience they could offer. The manager and Jhonathan P. are trash employees. I would advise any guest to get a different server besides Jhonathan P. The quality of service plus the money spent was not worth it. MAKE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPT SO YOU DONT GET SCAMMED!!!

Alyssa G.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible service. I have called over 10 times to speak to someone and they never answer the phone! It just rings endlessly. No option to even leave a message! For fine dining this is unacceptable!

Avery D.

Yelp
I got the shrimp and crab enchiladas and WOW! So delicious. Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. The crab was very sweet and the tomatillo sauce was not too spicy, very flavorful. Very nice ambience and vibes in the restaurant. My meal was $40. Expensive for two enchiladas but worth it. A good amount of food and very high quality.

lisa l.

Yelp
If you decide to celebrate your birthday or bring a cake into this location, please read my review first this it's supposed to be a very special custom designed birthday cake for me and my family (the cake cost 10 times the meal )when I receive this cake I noticed 3 fingerprints . (See picture below) I personally was shocked and when I addressed it to the sever I said that was unacceptable, and nobody can even eat that! Basically the manager did not care and dismissed it. This is very disappointing and not customer service. from that incident .i give him s penny as a tip . To my shocking again the server pick up the penny and throw it on my friends face ...... at this point we are speechless and the poor management denied it good thing is where we were sitting. The camera was right in the front even the camera was right . The servers action was caught on camera. and they were speaking a different language totally annoying on what just happened .. I really hope the owner come across my review and take this situation seriously instead of treating us like jokes what a shame because the Vegas and Irvine location is great

Aalia S.

Yelp
I tried to make a reservation for the bar seats in the "patio" but they were taken. It's not outdoor but they still call it a patio fyi. I tried to call again later to get a table reservation, but the number was busy. I called three times. I decided to just show up and the host agreed to seat us when my friend arrived. While I waited, huge parties were walking in without reservations and getting seated in the patio. When my friend came, we got seated in the entrance area and were told the patio was just for reservations when we asked to move as it wasn't full in the patio. Not sure I'll go back.

Yelp
Poor management for sure , had a reservation and still need to wait for 45 minutes, so crowded and we were getting claustrophobics . Food is ok just a regular Mexican food. Service not great. Pretty view I have to say.

Yelp
Been here several times and the food is always very good. According to their menu, They only use high quality ingredients and you can really tell by the taste of the food. I never get a bad meal at this place. Service is almost always good, but one time (last visit) a waiter got frustrated with my order, of course it was his mistake. I hate when waiters take your order by memory and they don't get it right and then blame you for the mistake. But it was all good.

Yelp
Javier's has always been my family's favorite restaurant for Special Occasions. Unfortunately, Javier's disappointed us my party of 6 , 3 of us got sick (food poisoning . Jr. Who identified as the manager when informed of which date I visited and what occurred had no interest in what I had to say.Much less apologize.

Yelp
You drink yay or nay? "Nay" worth going once for the experience of sitting on the indoor-outdoor area and look at to the ocean. It's Mexican food with a bland after taste. You're paying for the name and view. Waiters are cool but I heard if you don't dress like you have money they won't give two f's about you and we did see that to a young couple sitting far from us. If you drink your weird, ew, get a job, but the bar area inside in dark and mysterious so yk where I was at, mexican homie made me a drink with no alcohol and outside is rlly nice too

Yelp
I've heard great things about Javier's ever since moving to the OC so I was excited to try it, but it definitely didn't meet my expectations with taste. High end Mexican food is usually a miss so I was not too surprised. I ordered the chicken enchilada & beef taco which was ok, but absolutely not worth the price. It didn't taste fresh and the beef was extremely dry. No one at the table really had anything stand out to say about the food either. However, the chips and salsa they gave out were quite good. What I would come here for is the vibe. It's a great spot for a date or birthday dinner, and honestly looking at all the cars parked in front is kinda fun too. The service is also amazing, our server was so accommodating and always checked in. Most of the immediate lot was valet which was $8, it's just a 2-3 min walk to the area that isn't valet

Yelp
There was 16 guest and they only had one server on Monday afternoon and was not able to attend to our table accordingly. The food they brought was sloppy and bad and we order fajitas and they did not have complete items and we had to keep asking for the missing stuff. It was horrific . It's to bad that they spend so much remodeling the place but unfortunately the service and food has declined tremendously.

Yelp
If I can give 0 I would 1st problem the high chairs are not high enough to reach the table, so my kids are low, then me, so they have no table for kids, and they remodel. I guess they can't afford to get new chairs to match the tables for this "family restaurant " The only solution the manager gave was to switch tables, but the whole point of us getting a table With the view of the ocean . She didn't offer any other solution. And she said this nothing I could do. Sorry shows how much she cares about her service and the comfort of her customers Especially families with small children don't come here. They don't like kids or even think about them. 2nd Javiers, you remove the size of rice and beans. Are you serious That's just outrageous. Please go to the one in Irvine if you want a good experience. The one in newport is too whitewash For a mexican restaurant.

Yelp
Went here to enjoy the new bar, on a Sunday. Come to find out, after the remodeling, a reservation is now required to sit at the new bar with ocean view. Ended up leaving and going to Calo in Costa Mesa for a much more delicious meal and more fun experience

Yelp
FOOD (4/5): $36 FAJITAS DE CARNE: skirt steak w/ roasted tomato, bell peppers & onions. Finished the meat portion (small but was full). It also comes with rice, beans, tortillas which I didn't finish. $20 MARGARITAS: pretty much all the margaritas average about $20 a pop. They're all good, my favorite was the CADILLAC. AMBIANCE (4/5): Always busy & people usually are dressed to impress at this location. Great for a girls night out! They have 2 bars which get pretty busy on the weekends. OVERALL: Be sure to MAKE A RESERVATION. This place is ALWAYS BUSY! Yes, the prices are higher than your average Mexican restaurant, but take into account the ambiance & location. You're paying for the vibe and it does a great job. Also, the food is good so can't complain!

Yelp
Ambiance is on point. The staff is nothing short of amazing. We never had to request a water refill, more chips, salsa etc. We had a large party of 12. Reservations were made, we were seated promptly. The food we tried was so tasty, I honestly have nothing bad to say about it. Obviously it's pricey, but anyone that goes to Javier's already knows that. If it's your first time and you like seafood. Cabo Azul all the way!
