Amazing selection of Tequila, Mezcal, Bourbon, Amaro, really anything spirit based is great. I don't get wine or beer from here so I can't comment on that, they are my go-to spirit ship.

this is the Tardis of liquor stores, it’s looks small on the outside but is pretty big on the inside. They have a great selection and the prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their products. I’ll definitely be going back for more.

great selection, however I was charged more than the shelf price. 1 guy told me it was tax, but the subtotal rang up higher. then another next guy told me it was for paying with a credit card. I'm not originally from Atlanta, however I always feel like liquor stores here overcharge or have some sort of weird bait and switch fee (like a cc fee). otherwise, they have an impressive selection of spirits.. I'll be sure to bring cash.

Stolen my money yesterday.. $15.70 Said it declined but actually took my money and didn't receive anything. I.. reporting this to the business bureau.

Charlie! Charlie! Charlie! Thank you for your great customer service. You are the reason we travel all the way from McDonough to Jax Package Store in Conyers. We pass at least 5 other Package stores to get to Jax. We truly appreciate the pleasant customer experience we receive from the moment we walk in the store. We are always greeted with smiles. Not to mention the the LOW prices are a BONIS!!

Cash discounts and good overall selection. The aisles are very tight. Nice owners. The best package store in Avondale Estates and the east side on Decatur in my opinion.

Love that they carry Atlanta Hard Cider products here. Men behind the counter were very friendly and courteous. They thanked me for my business which is a huge win in my book. I love when someone appreciates the fact that I chose to shop there! Store is very organized and clean!

The radio was playing a political ad at full volume. I didn't agree and didn't want to hear it. I'll shop where I'm not subjected to their politics at full volume.

On 5/22/25. I left my purchase by accident on the counter. I live across town and no body would even answer the phone. I realize that it was my fault but at least if it was still there I would not have lost my money. This is a business and they don't answer the phone? I would not buy anything else there ever.

With the new expansion their local craft beer selection is expansive. They have a nice brandy selection and a large bourbon and scotch section. The rum section seems smaller now. If they can shore up the high end rum and tequila choices this would be the premier liquor store in Decatur. And the owner and staff are super nice! Addendum May 2020: Their wine selection it turns out is super! Whoever picks the wines is amazing. The selection is well curated: diverse in terms of geography as well as varietals and well priced to boot ($15-$20/bottle on average). We've had white riojas, Finger Lake reislings, red Rhônes, burgundies, Oregon pinots, and German gerwurtztraminer. We haven't had a bad one yet!

Charged my card 3 times after saying the machine couldn't accept my card. My girlfriend tried hers and she was charged twice as well. They claimed the one particular machine didn't work so they switched to the other one and it worked fine. It was such a hassle!

I give this rating as a bourbon fan. There are few places with this wide a selection of bourbons and whiskeys and they include everything from the obvious to the elusive. You're not going to find the really rare stuff here, but everything else is on that whiskey wall. They also have a serviceable selection of wines and vodkas. Not much in the way of tequila, but a few decent ones. They need to get the bourbon shopper on the tequila bandwagon. The staff is also very helpful and will come out to help you find something specific. Really good place to have!

Hm, apparently you can't buy hard liquor at grocery stores here! I thought it was super weird that this place didn't exist on Yelp (probably because they don't seem to have a website.) - I pass it every day on my way out, but never thought to go in. The interior was much larger than I thought (which was awesome!) but I was still able to get in and out in under 10 minutes. They have a pretty wide selection of hard liquor, beer, and wines. I didn't take too close of a look at the beer (still fully stocked at home, haha!), but will check that out the selection next time! Super convenient, parking lot is straight off E College. They don't carry energy drinks or other beverages though - but the good news is that if you need any of that, this place is directly across the street from a Chevron :-).

This place sucks! I'm from out of town and the customer service is horrible. By the way don't accidentally knock any of the bottles off the shelf. They will call the police.

Great variety, and a really nice gentleman helped me find a local variety whiskey on 9/3/22 - terrific guy! Unfortunately, when I went back on 9/4, I got gouged by the young lady that was not nearly as nice. I bought two of one variety, and one of the more expensive variety (Savannah Sweet Tea Bourbon and Savannah Bourbon Honey - there's a $12 difference between the two), ended up getting charged x3 of the expensive variety, plus a bottle of fireball for her troubles. Overall, paid $44 more than I should have. She kept my receipt, so I can't prove a thing, and I was an idiot for not asking for one - but I was in tourist mode and couldn't find my credit card (insert flighty white female mode here), so had to ask my husband for his. (mine was in the wrong pocket, sigh....). Note to all tourists - if a young lady with colored braids waits on you, ASK FOR YOUR RECEIPT before leaving the store! Left a VERY poor image of Decatur in my mind, and I will not be back to visit any time soon.

I feel like this place is a bit of a guarded secret in the Decatur area considering how many cocktail nerds and Bourbon Bros are on the prowl. This place looks like a run of the mill package store, however they have a sweet complimentary selection to many of the other bitchin liquor stores in the area. I've found plenty of bottles here that I have had to order in the past. I feel like no liquor store is perfect, but this is well worth having a place in my regular rotation of shops.

Seriously. The best customer service ever! Support local and independent at your own benefit. Jax is the absolute best in Avondale area.
