Just took my Crysler 200 to get a diagnostic. Was told it would be anywhere from 0 to 150.00$ they checked my car out and found it was nothing serious just moter mount rubbing or something like that. Showed me and are getting an estimate ready for me so that I know what I'm looking at price wise when I get it fixed. They did not charge me for the diagnostic. This is definitely my new spot for my car repairs. Okay so here is an update from my last review. Yes they looked at my car and said the motor mounts were bad. Then I called to get a price for them to replace my mounts and they told me 2600$ I was flabbergasted. So I asked if I could buy the parts myself and pay them for labor Jackie told me they do not do that. So I asked which mounts could be replaced for now that would basically fix most of my issue and they told me about two of them and said it would be 1100$ to do those. I laughed and went to Orielly's got the part for 116.00$ and My co worker put it on for 200.00 so I got the two they were going to charge me 1100 for done 316.00 pars and labor and my car is running awesome now. Can't believe such nice people I THOUGHT! Would try to rip me off like that as if I didn't know any better.

I like this place. No upselling, honest about repairs needed and how urgent or not urgent they are, very competitive pricing. Techs seem to know their stuff! I will be bringing my car here from now on as will the rest of my family members.

THE BEST AUTO REPAIR FACILITY IN TUCSON! PERIOD! This is the place to get any car, truck, or other automobile serviced or repaired. It's also a woman owned and operated business. Jacqui Harry is the owner, and this service facility has been in business for decades. (Yes, I said DECADES!) It has been voted best auto repair facility in Tucson by the Tucson Weekly. I personally worked there 15 years ago or so, and I can tell you quite honestly, that in my entire career in the vehicle repair industry (I'm 62), I have NEVER seen another business of any kind that is more honest and reliable, NONE! This is not a biased review, it's simply a fact. The owner actually pays her technicians to take multiple auto service seminars annually, as well as paying for the class's themselves. This means her technicians not only have well over a century of combined experience in all aspects of auto repair, but are current and up to date on all the latest and best technology's and methods. I have never seen anyone more honest with their customers. If you have a tight budget, they'll tell you what MUST be done, and give you estimates on anything else you should be concerned about, with absolutely no pressure to pay more than you can afford. They will make sure you completely understand the problem, as well as what they are going to do in order to repair the problem, even if you have absolutely NO mechanical expertise whatsoever. They do not expect you to self diagnose the problem before you bring it to them. In other words, it's okay to come in and say "it's making a weird squeaking noise from somewhere underneath when I drive, and something is leaving a stain on my garage floor under the left front corner, and my dash lights don't work". They are the friendliest people you would ever want to meet, and they not only have a nice cool waiting room, but they will shuttle you somewhere else if you want to drop your car off for service, and be dropped off, and picked up somewhere else when it's done! NOTE: While you are there, you might want to pay a visit to Henry's Hair Studio located inside the Jay Bees waiting room. They are equally as skilled, virtuous and friendly in their business!

At 74, and having close to 50 motor vehicles in my life, I have never experienced an auto repair shop even close to JayBees. I was driving our Ford F150 home from Port Townsend, WA, where I learned that we had a major repair needed to the engine. Luckily I came across JayBees website and was compelled to call. Lucky me, Shelly Maynard answers the phone and a real conversation takes place. Why is this point important? I’ll ask you the reader of this review, when is the last time you called any service business and experienced a person who was authentic and cared about why you were calling? I set an appointment a few days after I would return home to Tucson and explained that I had an extended warranty service I’d not used before. Shelly assured me that they work with the various companies often and that she would take the lead. JayBees Auto Service is owned and operated by women, and has been for several decades. It’s my opinion, that this is why it’s run and operated with such dignity. Every step of the way I was communicated with and advised about making decisions as the mechanic discovered a few additional issues. After less than a week, our truck was ready to be brought home. I had not met anyone in person yet, because we dropped it off the night before our appointment. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Jacqui Harry, and Shelly at the same time. This entire experience was so uniquely enjoyable that it still is resonating with me, even two weeks afterwards. Thank you JayBees! Barry

I would absolutely recommend Jaybees to any one looking to come into contact with friendly, helpful and informative car maintenance and repair professionals. The service was prompt and the wait times were minimal. Pricing is fair, and the quality of the work done is, in my opinion, top tier. I will be making most of my appointments with this crew moving forward, and highly appreciate their services. Not only are all of the workers here professional, they all genuinely care about providing each customer with a detailed breakdown of what each vehicular issue is, and do their absolute best to get if fixed properly. I am more than satisfied with their quality of service.

JayBees has been repairing our old cars for years and years. They fixed the A/C on our 2002 van after the dealer tried 2 times and was not successful but JayBees figured out the problem and made it work. They recently fixed our 1994 Explorer and did a complete engine change on my husband's 2006 Mustang last month. They always do a fantastic job, are excellent at communication, have fair pricing, go above and beyond to find parts especially for older cars, and are kind and helpful. Thanks JayBees! Appreciate you!

Google
Best experience I;ve ever had at any auto service. From the moment I called, I knew I was in the right hands. Shelly was so kind and thorough in all her explanations and consistently kept me as informed as I could be about my vehicle. I had some issues in my vehicle regarding a strange smell coming from the AC and after a very thorough examination of everything, I had that fixed along with all other maintenance needs. It turned out to be an oil leak, and now the car feels brand new with no leakage. It is running smooth as ever. And to top all of that off- they have a cat in the office! Couldn't ask for a better experience. Thanks JayBees!

After Pep Boys gave me a quote of almost $1,500 to have my steering repaired, I decided to take my car to Jay Bee's for a second quote. Jackie came out and inspected my tires first and showed me that the problem of my car pulling is because of the tires not the steering. She she suggested going to East Side Tire, a few buildings down from them, to get new tires. Jay Bees helped me solve my problem and get new tires all in about an hour. There was also no charge on their expertise for letting me know that it was a tire problem and not steering. I have been using their service for at least 25 years and trust them to the fullest. Thank you Jay Bee's.

Yelp
Was very satisfied with the repairs done on my '08 Hyundai. Everyone was very nice, asked the right questions, reasonable time to fix, rides from shop to my house and back for pick-up... price was very fair. I recommend these guys!

Yelp
Most recently JayBees replaced my front rotors and pads, and over the last several months, they've done a few other repairs on my vehicle as well as routine maintenance. Each time I could not be more pleased with the results. They go the extra mile to take care of their customers, a level of customer service that is hard to find these days.

Yelp
My husband and I were truly blessed when we discovered JayBees Auto Service when we moved to Tucson in 2000. One of the first things we did when we moved back here in 2007 was renew our relationship with JayBees. Honest and trustworthy aren't words one typically associates with auto mechanics, but they're the first words that come to my mind when I think of JayBees. They never, and I mean NEVER, do work that doesn't need doing. Case in point, I asked them to replace the windshield wiper blades on my van yesterday while it was in the shop for other work. They checked the blades and told me they didn't need replacing. Could they have replaced them anyway? Absolutely, especially since I asked them to do it. Did they? Absolutely not. (They said they could do it if I insisted, but it wasn't necessary.) And last month they told me I didn't need to change the oil in my van every 3 months/3,000 miles, that the new guidance is every 6 months (I don't drive the van very often, so even though I'd only driven less than a thousand miles since the last oil change, it WAS 3 months since it had been changed). It's so wonderful to be able to trust your mechanic when she (yes, SHE!) tells you something needs fixing. My husband and I rarely owned a new vehicle, and JayBees was instrumental in keeping our old ones (the van is a 2004 and my car is a 2011) in good running order. I will miss JayBees when I move to the East Coast...that's for darn sure.

Yelp
I've been to JayBees for two oil changes. Reliable service, friendly staff, and an office can't. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This place was recommended by other auto repairs in town. They are real friendly on the phone. They charge $65.00 + tax for LOF, tire rotation and top off all fluids. I chose another place in town which was $20 less over on Valencia.

Yelp
Awesome Communication & Fast Service. They explained in detail my car issues and service done. I had oil change and diagnostic service with repair. They informed me that my vehicle registration had expired and offered to go online and renew for 3 days so that I could drive away in compliance. Very Professional and Friendly. Debra

Yelp
I always have good results with JayBees. Cars, engines and parts can be quite tricky but I have been lucky- just describing the problem I am having or hearing- they often know what the issue is! I trust them, communication is strong here- when they discover an issue that is not what I was originally told- they always call me to explain. Lucky for me - other issues have aways been minor. There are only 3 repair shops in town I trust. This one is my favorite but also the furthest away from my house. I even consulted with them on my last car purchase- I wanted a car that was reliable day in and day out. They did not tell me what to buy but they did tell me a few cars to stay away from. Which helped!

Yelp
First let me say that I have been a customer of JayBees Auto Service since the mid 90's. I went there because they were recommended by a friend at the place where I worked. Though they were always really busy they did what they said they would do and at what seemed, back in the 90's, at a reasonable price. I have been back in AZ since 2011 and have once again depended on JayBees Auto Service to fix those things I could not handle myself. Sadly, I am no in the position of not knowing if something they did helped ruin my engine or if it was something I did or if it was just fate. Took it to JayBees again as they had been the last one to work on the area affected. The put in a helicoil on cylinder number one and that is the cyl that is now testing out to be faulty. A back yard mechanic advised me that the spark plug had dropped down to the piston? and may have damaged the piston or valve. So back to the shop we go very carefully. JayBees explained that the piston had dropped down (due to a cross threaded spark plug) and that even after tinkering with it for a few days they discovered still no compression on Cyl 1. Was told I needed either a valve job (which could cost as much as 4000.00 or another engine). Since my mind was totally blown by this information I did not question whether the plug dropping down and the helicoil failing was my fault or faulty parts used by the mechanic place. In any case the bill for the investigation was almost $700.00 with a discount given. I have spoken to two other mechanics with decades of experience and they believe I should sue JayBees because they put in a helicoil that did not have an upper lip to keep it from ever going down into the engine. I am not a sue happy person and am still pondering this issue as I prepare to put a new engine in my farm truck. Only the Lord knows what I should do and he has not yet advised me! So I am in stand by mode regarding legal action.

Yelp
I had gone to another shop that really took me for a ride so when I arrived at Jay Bee's I was very distraut and mostly paranoid. They got me in super fast and were nice when I came in. I called them to get the quote about 4 hours after I had dropped off my car which I had done earlier than I was sceduled for. They didn't seem put off by my impatience and called me back shortly after to give me a quote. The problem I had was exactly what I thought it was and considering they had to remove my entire center console (which when I had tried I did not succeed at) they gave a pretty fair price. I pick my car up in the morning but considering the nightmare of the last shop I am super excited that I was recomended to this shop. Mostly because they listened and didn't fix things that were not broke.

Yelp
My car broke down in Tucson last SUMMER. It was towed to JayBees's Auto on a cousin's recommendation. It is unusual to wax effusively enthusiastic about car repair, but I DO. The WOMEN and men at this shop treated me as if I had been a long-time customer; now i am. I travel from New Mexico 250 miles to get my 1996 Camry repaired now. They are driven (teeheehee) to give their customers SERVICE that is without compair. The bills are, gulp, what one might expect for an old car that hasn't had the love it requires for years. But they are REASONABLE, and the results will keep this old girl going for at least 300,000 miles. I couldn't recommend anyone more highly.

Yelp
Completely trust Jay Bees. They have serviced my car many times and have even left with no bill two times! Turns out it was not an issue and they never tried to pull anything on me. Great customer service, knowledgeable and have a really cute office cat :)

Yelp
My car was having infrequent starting problems. I stopped in at Jay Bees and asked if they could fix it. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it in a timely manner and reasonable charge. I t was a real pleasure doing business with them and I recommend them and will use them in the future. Mike

Yelp
Great central location. Good people who want the best for your automobile!

Sandy M.

Yelp
If you are not a mechanic and want to understand exactly what is going on with your car, I would recommend JayBees. I have used them for roughly 15 years. Their prices seem fair and they explain things in a way that is clear to "non-mechanics". If there is a problem, you get a phone call and are advised of the urgency and safety concerns; then you will be apprised of any options you may have and the costs. I have never walked away wondering "what" I just paid for or "why".

Yelp
I own a 1967 corvette and just wanted all High performance owners to know what a great job Jacqui and her team did rebuilding my motor, it sounds and runs fast, thanks so much for all your hard work!!!! Gary Castano

Yelp
Yelp needs an option for a sixth star, for super-exceptional service. Jay Bee's would get that sixth star every time. I am new to Tucson, and needed a mechanic to figure out and solve my lit-up "check engine" light. Jay Bee's not only fixed the problem, but they drove me to and from home while they did it and finished the job in time for me to make a doctor's appointment that they knew was important. And the bill was VERY reasonable to boot. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

R K.

Yelp
The shop I had taken my car to before bringing it to Jay Bees insisted they couldn't tell me what was wrong with the car and wanted to try list of repairs until it was fixed. Seriously?!?! A friend at work suggested Jay Bees and I think we're now lifetime customers. Great customer service, they found the problem right away, very knowledgeable, and fair prices. I honestly couldn't be happier and highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Jacque and her team do a great job! The best auto repair customer service I've ever received! I also appreciate supporting a local woman owned business.

Yelp
Couldn't possibly ask for anything more. I was very concerned prior to my visit because another shop told me a FALSE PROBLEM! I brought it to Jacky and Shelly at Jay Bee's and they told me what was really wrong. The problem cost me a fourth of what I was originally told would cost! Thank God I took a second opinion and thank god for Jay Bee's!

Gayla G.

Yelp
I"m the proud owner of a 1997 Jeep TJ with 100k miles on her - and have struggled to find anyone who'll treat her with the love and respect she deserves when she needs some TLC. These folks found the electric problem, and had her up and running and back in my driveway in 24 hours. Thanks!

Yelp
If you need your car repaired use Jay Bee's. Their staff is friendly and treated me well. When you need a repair done quickly AND fixed right the first time they are the shop to use. I love that they have women in their shop who actually know cars and how to explain my situation to me.

Yelp
Okay, one final update on the Jay Bee's experience. After having brought the car back five or six times with the same problem, I was finding it increasingly difficult to be sweet, kind, and understanding. They couldn't look at it unless I could recreate the problem on the spot. When the A/C went out again, I brought it immediately to them, and they agreed that it wasn't working, but the owner wasn't there. Apparently, the owner (and not any of their six mechanics) is the only person who can look at it and determine why it is not working.) When I brought it back (not working, and the owner WAS there, she just shrugged and said, "Well, we've been really nice to you." THEY were nice to ME? I'm the one who went through all the inconvenience and days with no car, and, in my opinion, I'M the one who had been overly patient...giving them numerous chances to try and get it right, etc. So, I finally took it elsewhere and paid for a diagnosis. Turns out there was a bad connection at the compressor coil connector. Guess all those trips to Jay Bee's put a little strain on the wiring. Thankfully, Arizona Auto Refrigeration was able to figure that out with or without the shop owner being present.

Ruth M.

Yelp
sure- you may be able to find it a wee bit cheaper elsewhere BUT.... if you want it done right.. and want the shop to honor what the fix... this place is where you want to go I just wish they were open even a half day on Saturdays!

Kristy Z.

Yelp
Competent, Professional, Fair, & Honest. Won The Best Of Tucson for years, for a reason. Nice, Nice people. Also have a driver, to transport you to/from shop, as needed. You can't go wrong choosing Jay Bees. I have been using this shop for YEARS- and recommend it to everyone. If you are looking for a GREAT shop that won't overcharge you and does superior work, HERE IT IS!!!

Byron B.

Yelp
This is a shop that has a passion to fix the root problem, not simply pull things off and replace them until they happen upon a solution. Don't hesitate to take your car to Jay Bee's. I had been to three shops, spent thousands of dollars on repairs and the folks at Jay Bee's sorted through all the potential issues and solved the problem. I have a lot of confidence in their work.

Yelp
Took my '63 Lincoln into this shop because of our previous positive experience with a '90 Jeep at JB's. Not sure why the difference, but with the Jeep, JB's looked over the thing, gave us a series of recommendations to repair and the thing works great. Not so with our experience with the Lincoln. Granted, it is an old tank, but none-the-less, went in with functioning windows, came out with none operational, went in with a functioning transmission, came out with a selection of a single speed and a far sloppier shifting linkage than before. Supposedly they fixed the oil, power steering, and transmission leaks, but now oil leaks worse than before. Declined to overhaul the power steering which had been recommended by another shop and for which I hunted down the parts, only to have the PS blow up the second day I drove it. Rather expected them to note the goofy brakes, but came out as if no one had driven the car to test out anything, ranging from the brakes, to the transmission, to the windows, to the fact it steers to the left, to the fact it spits out a cup of oil each time you stop. On the plus side, or am optimistically viewing, are the replacement of the steering mechanism, starter, radiator and overflow tank, and hopefully the water pump, which I obtained for their installation. And, I must add, it appears no one had bothered to read the maintenance manual I obtained for them, as it sits unused in the back seat of the car, pages new and unstained. Frankly, my faith in this shop has been sorely tested. I'll be happy to return to these pages after they finally finish next week with an update should I actually have a positive experience with JB's.

Lauren H.

Yelp
Jay Bee's is the only place I will ever take my car, they are the absolute best! Specifically, in July I had a check engine light on that would not allow me to pass emissions, and after I could not troubleshoot the problem myself I took it to their shop. The staff are so friendly and considerate, and really listened to and noted the work that I had already done to my car. They were diligent in locating the problem and I had my car back in 2 days, then passed emissions beautifully. The best part about their service is I received an extremely detailed summary of all testing and troubleshooting they had done throughout the process (literally, almost an entire page of notes!)--as someone who works on my own car when I can, this is a substantial courtesy as I can use it for reference when future issues arise with my vehicle. When all was fixed, the cost was substantially lower than the original cost projection--I immensely appreciate that they did not take advantage by adding unnecessary parts or labor to the final cost (and I have to say, this is the first time in my life a mechanic has called me to tell me that the cost was actually going to be much lower than potentially expected!). After years of bouncing back and forth between untrustworthy mechanics, I am elated to have found Jay Bee's. They have worked on my car three times now, and every time has been an absolutely positive experience. I cannot give them enough praise for their work, and even beyond that for their stellar customer service skills. I would recommend Jay Bee's to anyone, and do so every chance I get.
