Took my '63 Lincoln into this shop because of our previous positive experience with a '90 Jeep at JB's. Not sure why the difference, but with the Jeep, JB's looked over the thing, gave us a series of recommendations to repair and the thing works great. Not so with our experience with the Lincoln. Granted, it is an old tank, but none-the-less, went in with functioning windows, came out with none operational, went in with a functioning transmission, came out with a selection of a single speed and a far sloppier shifting linkage than before. Supposedly they fixed the oil, power steering, and transmission leaks, but now oil leaks worse than before. Declined to overhaul the power steering which had been recommended by another shop and for which I hunted down the parts, only to have the PS blow up the second day I drove it. Rather expected them to note the goofy brakes, but came out as if no one had driven the car to test out anything, ranging from the brakes, to the transmission, to the windows, to the fact it steers to the left, to the fact it spits out a cup of oil each time you stop. On the plus side, or am optimistically viewing, are the replacement of the steering mechanism, starter, radiator and overflow tank, and hopefully the water pump, which I obtained for their installation. And, I must add, it appears no one had bothered to read the maintenance manual I obtained for them, as it sits unused in the back seat of the car, pages new and unstained. Frankly, my faith in this shop has been sorely tested. I'll be happy to return to these pages after they finally finish next week with an update should I actually have a positive experience with JB's.
