We had a great experience! The music was excellent! It feels like a swanky super club! The stained glass windows are gorgeous! Loved the ambiance and vibe! The server was EXCELLENT! The house foccacia bread was delicious! We had the crispy tuna rice and zucchini blossoms and they were literally amazing! We shared a filet, creme of spinach and the duck fat fries. Loved the filet but when I go back I'll pass on the duck fries. We also had the espresso martini and creme brulee and both were fabulous! The martini was different because they use tequila. Absolutely love this place!

Great atmosphere and the DJ was playing some amazing music! Love the decor and things started off well. We were told we would have a team of servers, so that was cool. Drinks, first and second course came out in a normal time frame and were very good. It took 45 mins to get the third course. We started to run late as we are close to 2 hours in at this point. Only saw one server for 90 percent of the time, he was nice but overwhelmed and not able to keep up. I had to go find him to ask for the check and please just box our desserts as we need to go. That took another 20 mins, the table next to ours didn’t touch their desserts as they had the same issue. We never saw a manager going around to check on anything. Hopefully they will improve on this as it’s a really cool spot with great potential. However, for $150 pre fixe per person it wasn’t worth it for all the time we spend waiting for food and our check.

I’ve been to Jay’s twice now—once on a Saturday for dinner and recently for Sunday brunch to celebrate my partner’s birthday. The space itself is beautiful; Jay’s is a restored old church, and the ambiance definitely adds to the experience. The Sunday brunch was nice, but extremely pricey. It’s $85 per person, plus an additional $25 for two hours of bottomless cocktails. You can switch between mimosas, Bellinis, and prosecco throughout the two-hour window, which is a nice touch. The buffet offered a wide assortment of pastries, desserts, breads, chicken and waffles, eggs, bacon, sausages, lox with cream cheese and veggies, chicken Francese, prime rib, oysters, shrimp cocktail—just to name a few. While the selection was large, the food itself was good but not amazing. Our server was wonderful and mentioned she was celebrating her own birthday on Monday, which added a warm, personal touch to the experience. The cocktails were definitely a highlight—really well made. Overall, Jay’s is a gorgeous spot with great service, and I’d absolutely return for dinner. However, I wouldn’t go back for the brunch at that price point.

Jay’s Steakhouse absolutely delivered. Everything was as beautiful and delicious as advertised online—no surprises, only wins. My family visited over Christmas weekend and had the chance to sample much of the menu, and every dish was on point. The staff was fantastic—attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming—and the live music was the perfect finishing touch. A top-tier dining experience from start to finish!

G (Guilherme) at the bar greeted us with a smile and some amazing recommendations for our post Broward Center theatre Sunday happy hour. We were impressed by the pristine crispy tuna, tempura rock shrimp, lychee martini, and delicious Rioja wine! The beef in the steak frites was so tender, I cut it with a fork and the French dip was amazing, thinly shaved meat, fresh bread, and well composed! The gargantuan Baked Alaska with brownie, ice cream, & torched meringue was a sweet finish to an amazing night! We can't wait it to return!

Spectacular, so many steak places in Fort Lauderdale, but we heard so many good things about Jay. We want to give it a try. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, such a great vibe. Lively but not too loud, and the DJ was spectacular. Playing lots of songs from the 80s that we loved. Our server was Jordan, he was great, very friendly and very helpful. We started off with the Seafood tower for the two of us, to say it was phenomenal would be an understatement. Delicious oysters, huge shrimp, lobster, crab, tuna, it was amazing. Definitely a great appetizer to share, but it’s a lot of food. My cowboy ribeye was probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Tender delicious the perfect amount of seasoning, and cooked to perfection. My wife had the fillet, which was also delicious. We had the glazed carrots they were unbelievable. We didn’t have dessert because we were so full, but the whole night was a fabulous experience. If I had to say one thing, the turnaround time to get a drink was very long, they were busy, but there’s lots of people working in the bar and I don’t know why it took so long for us to get refills on our cocktails. But we will be back and can’t wait to take friends and family there because it’s a great vibe. Yes, it’s a bit on the expensive side, but the food was spectacular so I don’t mind paying for it. Thought to drink prices were reasonable, as were the sides. But it’s such a cool place to eat at

7pm reservation on a Saturday night - greeting was prompt. I wasn't stoked about the table but I also didn't request a different one, so that's on us. We sat at a very small table in the corner, with barely enough room to squeeze between our table and the one next to us. In fact, several times during the meal, waiters bumped into our table or their table when delivering food. Most of the food was fantastic. My husband devoured the lamb chop lollipops and said they were "ridiculously good" -- we even got another order to-go for the sitter. The burrata was good - add the prosciutto. Main entrees were the sea bass and the bone-in strip. Both were excellent. Added a side of bearnaise which was good. They have a salt flight, which is the greatest addition I've ever seen on a menu. I need this with every steak from now on. Hubby ordered an espresso and we shared a piece of chocolate cake. The pictures don't do it justice. It's huge. The table next to us was in awe. And it was stupid good. Those multiple layer cakes tend to be dry. Not this one -- moist, decadent, not too heavy. It was reallllly good....as it should be for $24 a slice. I probably wouldn't have ordered it if I had seen the price before, but I'm glad I did, and was worth it, if splurging, or if money is no concern. The downfall was the sides. Maybe we just chose poorly, but they were not good. The Dauphinoise potatoes were unseasoned and had a weird thick layer of what looked like shredded cheese on top. The mushroom society looks really good... but it was wet mushrooms sitting in a bed of mushroom water. Zero caramelization if that's what you're looking for. We hardly touched either. It's pricey - it was over $400, including tip and that also includes three glasses of wine. We would likely go back - hopefully they fine tune some of those sides. Other sides, like the lobster Mac and the pommes puree, looked good from the table next door. It's not a place for a quiet dinner. I must have said "what??" a dozen times, trying to hear. The vibe was good, but know it's loud with live music on one side. The building itself is beautiful with stained glass near the bar and thoughtful details throughout. I would give the place 4 and a half stars of that was a thing. The sides kept me from giving it 5 stars.

I had very high expectations for Jay’s, but this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. After placing our order, we were completely ignored for over 30 minutes. Throughout the entire meal, we were only able to get one drink and no one checked on us or asked if we needed anything. The service was rude, inattentive, and unprofessional. My boyfriend ordered an $85 bone in ribeye, and what was served, as shown in the photo, was clearly not a bone in ribeye. When we asked about it, two different employees insisted that it was bone in, which felt dishonest and dismissive rather than helpful. The show that is advertised was not entertaining and was just two girls walking around. The atmosphere felt very dollar store vibes. For what we paid, this experience was extremely disappointing. We will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant.

Returned for their happy hour and ladies night. Enjoyed it so much the first time with the steak and burger I had to bring my girls! Everything is so flavorful ! Had the mini burger this time and rock shrimp from the happy hour menu. great service with a beautiful inside. Will be returning

I was so impressed by J's. This place is beautiful, unique, and definitely one of the standout restaurants I've visited in Fort Lauderdale. The building itself has a story--our server explained that it was originally a church that was moved brick by brick from another part of Fort Lauderdale. It opened just a few months ago as J's. You can truly feel that history in the architecture. One side of the restaurant has a lively entertainment vibe with performances on certain nights, while the other side is calmer and perfect for an intimate date night. I ended up on the quieter side and it was lovely, although I really wish I had visited on a Thursday-Saturday to catch the live shows, because based on other reviews, they know how to put on a whole production. Service was excellent--knowledgeable, warm, and great with recommendations. Now... let's talk about the espresso martini. Hands down the best I've ever had. Perfectly balanced espresso flavor, not too sweet, beautifully layered, and topped with what I think was a French toast cream that just sent it over the edge. It's served in a tall, chilled martini glass and honestly? It's a whole moment. If you order a cocktail here, get that one. I wasn't super hungry that night, so I kept it light with the tuna crispy rice--which was delicious and perfectly textured--and the burrata salad. The tomatoes were surprisingly sweet and everything tasted fresh and bright. My partner ordered the steak topped with crab, and we wrapped up with a classic crème brûlée loaded with real vanilla bean. Everything was well-executed. Overall, J's is picturesque, romantic, and perfect for a date or a night out where you still want great food and ambiance. My only regret is not coming on a busier night for the live entertainment, but that just means I'll have to return the next time I'm in Fort Lauderdale. Highly recommend!

I went on a date here this past weekend. The service is pretty decent. The food is also delicious and well prepared. The portions are very small. We got lamb chops, filet and sea bass. My favorite was the sea bass. While it was pretty cool that it's in an old church, the ambiance is way off. It felt like a being in a disco. I didn't like the vibe at all. It's worth a shot to check the place out but we won't be going back.

This place is absolutely stunning. The service is impeccable and the food is delicious. Not often can a restaurant have all 3 but Jay's certainly does. My husband and I went there for our anniversary dinner on a Friday. There was a live band and entertainers that wowed the crowd. We ordered the lobster OREGANATa because everyone raved about it but I wasn't such a huge fan of it. The porter house steak was cooked to perfection, the lucky duck oysters are a must try I would go back just for those, the burata salad was incredible, and of course the sides to the steak were fantastic. If I could give this restaurant more stars I would.

This has quickly become one of our favorite places in town to take guests because of their wonderful prime rib which everyone orders and loves! But first, a little about the place. Jays is located in an old historic church. If you you know me- you know I love repurposed old buildings and they did a great job with this one (so much nicer than when it was Holly Blue) You are warmly greeted when you walk in and then led to one of the many dining areas. There are a couple of bars one in each room as well. I'm not sure why the outdoor patio place still isn't open but once it does, that will probably be my favorite place to sit. The service is spot on. You can tell that they have done a good job training their staff and the manager always comes by and does a table touch too. Now on to the important part . . .the food! If you like prime rib (and all my midwestern relatives do) this is the place to get it. They wheel the prime rib cart out old skool style and then carve you the regular, mid size or the king's cut. A friend ordered the kings cut once night and I swear that piece of meat was 4 inches wide! The prime rib comes with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach and there is a deal on Wednesday nights as of this writing, where you get a salad, the prime rib and sides and dessert all for $65! Personally, I usually get the new york strip which is equally as tasty and I LOVE their lobster macaroni and cheese as a side. They have plenty of appetizers to start with like the shrimp tempura, tuna crispy rice and odds and end bacon which is just what it sounds like! Dinner with a couple of drinks each runs about $150 a person but for the overall experience and food it was well worth it! We live nearby so this has quickly become our "go to" when we want prime rib or a nice steak dinner. It's worth checking it out!

Loved that this restaurant is in an old church, that's pretty eclectic and adds to the vibe of the restaurant. I went for happy hour which does get packed pretty quickly. Espresso Martini, bread, steak frites and radiatore alla vodka with lobster all what I tried my first time and you absolutely cannot go wrong with any! Excited to go back again soon! Service was top notch as well, very friendly bartenders. Thank you!

This place is beautiful inside. I went for ladies night and it was packed! We couldn't get seats and had to wait a while until someone got up. The bartender seemed a little overwhelmed (rightful so it was packed) but I don't like feeling that energy. Needless to say the food and drinks were good. I would recommend if you want to try something different. *took a while to find parking

I heard so much on Yelp about Jay's that I had to try it. So on Jim's birthday we went to church. Jay's replaced Holly Blue, and while the front bar and dining area looked similar, Jay's raised the sanctuary to another level with a huge bar, tables and a cute DJ on the raised altar. It was loud and hard to have a conversation so we were glad to have been seated in the front room. The crowd averaged on the younger side (to us!) looking mostly 25-35. Most were dressed for a night on the town. We had a dozen oysters as appetizers. For entrees the birthday boy chose One Great Burger, an awesome blend of wagyu and bacon. It was accompanied by enough French fries for the whole table. Rick loved his Maine Lobster Risotto. As San Francisco is my home town, and Jay's claims to emulate SF's storied House of Prime Rib, I had to try the City Prime Rib. Just like "The House" it's rolled on a trolley and sliced table-side. It was a perfect medium rare as requested, and very flavorful. Unfortunately the creamed spinach and potatoes were really too salty for my taste, and I couldn't eat them. Service was amazing and an enjoyable night out, especially with one of the best prime ribs I've had in Greater Fort Lauderdale (my second of the week because I wanted to compare)!

I've been for happy hour a few times and it is always a great experience. Ladies night is also great because ladies get free wine and single pour liquors. The food on the HH menu is very good. I've had the steak and fries and the prime rib sandwich. The ambiance is fancy. They have multiple bars. The bartenders are always great with making sure we are taken care of. There is free parking in the attached lot or metered parking on the street. There are live performers later in the evening. I've seen a saxophonist walking around.

Jay's is definitely a restaurant that you must try at least once. The building and details of the venue is beautiful. We had reservations for a Friday night birthday dinner so getting seated was painless. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with the fact that they seated us before our entire party was there. Once seated our server Tristian was amazing from beginning to end. He was very patient and recommended a lot of his favorite things on the menu. He even gave us a complimentary tour of the restaurant. Tristan if you ever see this, you were definitely a highlight of the experience. On to the food. I truly expected to be blown away especially for the price. The complimentary bread was delicious and surprisingly crispy. I enjoyed my drink but my husband didn't like his Long Island. The oysters were delicious I wish we ordered more. The lobster mac and cheese was very underwhelming. Again for the price it was not worth it because it felt like they mixed some pasta and cheese and threw some lobster on top. The creamy spinach was super runny. It was honestly better on my oysters than as a side. Now the true star of the show. The ribeye was chef kiss delicious. Overall, I'm glad I got to try this restaurant. Crossing it off the bucket list.

This place has an opportunity to be a 5 but, unfortunately, it doesn't get to that level and there are some things to work on. 1) Was the food good? Yes. But it wasn't as good as the price suggests compared to restaurants of the same price range. Some dishes were fantastic but some were just average. 2) the staff is very nice and accommodating. However, they are not as trained and they do not behave as staff in upper-scale restaurants like this one. Example: Carbone and their staff, or Cipriani and their staff. They aren't bad and they aren't making mistakes, but they do not act like the level of restaurant suggests if that makes sense. 3) Inconsistent portion sizes. Some portions are massive but some are regular sized and it is very unpredictable. I'd rather get better quality smaller-sized portion than an entree sized side. Overall, it was not bad, but I do not see myself coming back because Miami and Ft Lauderdale has a lot of other options and nothing really captured me here to make me want to come back.

I'm hesitant on giving this place a higher rating simply because of how expensive the bill came out to be compared to how much I enjoyed the meal. Jay's is located in Fort Lauderdale and there is plenty of street parking nearby but I ended up parking in a lot right next to the restaurant. We visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening around 6:30pm and upon entering, we were greeted by a host who checked us in for our reservation and led us to our table. All the staff were very welcoming and attentive, the ambiance and decor in the restaurant is incredible. It's a very spacious restaurant with lots of seating, and during our visit I spotted at least 3 bars. The music is louder on one side of the restaurant than the other, so if you prefer a more intimate and quiet vibe, you can still enjoy this restaurant. Once we were seated, our server came by with the wine menu and food menu and offered us sparkling or still water; if you want tap water it won't be offered, you have to request it. We did not realize this immediately so we said still and the server brought over a bottle of Saratoga water ($10 each bottle). After a few minutes I had a question about the Dine Out Lauderdale menu and the server said she had to go and confirm that it was possible. She then came back with the menus which is where we ended up ordering from. Initially I went in wanting to order from their happy hour menu, but she informed us that this was only available at the bar. In hindsight I wish I would've done that because I feel like I may have given this restaurant a higher rating. We started by ordering the Latin Medicine cocktail which was one of the best things we ordered. They brought over complimentary bread which was also good, it was a warm & herby sourdough. We placed an order for the Oysters Rockefeller & Rock Shrimp Tempura. I would rate the Oysters a 7 out of 10, but the shrimp was too bready and I was not a huge fan, I would give it a 5.5 out of 10. As we each ordered from the Dine Out Lauderdale menu, two of us ordered the Lobster Oreganata, and one ordered the Caesar salad with no anchovies to start. The lobster was good, but I wish it had a bit more salt/seasoning and I wish it was served with some sort of crostini. We used the leftover of the complimentary bread and it did the trick. The salad was good as well. For the main courses two of us ordered the Prime Rib (1 medium & 1 medium rare) and one ordered the Radiatori Pasta with shrimp (+$14). The medium rare Prime Rib was cooked perfectly, but the medium was definitely overcooked so I would just stick to ordering it medium rare if you go for this option. The flavor of the meat was great, and the sides it came with were good, but I've definitely had better. The pasta was delicious and the added shrimp were massive! I would recommend both of those main dishes when dining here. For dessert two of us ordered the sea salt caramel cheesecake and the last ordered The World's Best Key Lime Pie which definitely was not the world's best. After one bite, she ended up switching it over to the Sea Salt Caramel Cheesecake. If you're a Key Lime Pie connoisseur, I would definitely get another dessert option. We finished off by each ordering the Jay's Tequila Espresso Martini which was definitly overhyped. The presentation was great, and we were anticipating drinking this the whole night, only to be let down because it somehow tasted watery. It was nicely chilled but I think maybe they shocked the espresso too soon after brewing and used too much ice when shaking the drinks. We asked for the bill and the server brought over 3 mini chocolate chip cookies which were warm and chewy. The bill ended up being $430 and a service fee of 20% was applied to the bill automatically. The restaurant has a policy where you cannot split the bills, but you can use multiple cards to pay. Overall, I would say the service is great! From the time we walked in to the time we walked out, the staff was attentive and kind. The food runners also had some conversation with us and it added to the nice ambiance of the restaurant. The restaurant also does not skimp out on portion sizes. Even though we ordered from the Dine Out Lauderdale menu, the portions were as if you ordered from the regular menu which I appreciate, because a lot of restaurants who participate in Miami Spice make the portions smaller for those menus. What makes this a 3 out of 5 for me is that for $430, although we had a full feast, a few of the dishes were not as good as I expected and I would not reorder. I also feel like there were ways we were hustled into spending more money; like with the water, overselling a dish; like the Rock Shrimp Tempura. I would however come back to try their happy hour at the bar. I want to try their Steak Frites special, and I also want to partake in their $5 martinis for ladies night.

Dine Out FTL experience. Pre-Fix Menus $45. Tue-Thurs & Sundays ONLY! Ambiance: STUNNING 11/10- decor = immaculate, absolutely stunning. Service: AMAZING!!!!! Our server was so sweet- got everything we needed right away! For the pre-fix menu, for the starters, I chose the Lobster Oreganata! Maine Lobster, Roasted Garlic Butter, Oreganata, And my cousins chose the Signature Duck Fat Potato Wedges/Rosemary Aioli, Parmesan, Parmesan/shaved black truffle. Both were super duper great options. Can't go wrong with either of them. Main entrees we all chose the prime rib 8.5/10- it was overally salty, however, with the mash potatoes & creamed spinach - great pairing and is included wiith your meal- so it balances out. We had the salted caramel cheesecake & key lime' both tasty options!!! We had a fabulous time. I was obsessed with the decor. Everything overall was up to par. So glad I got to try this place. Definitely photo OP worthy. From the interior to the exterior = immaculate!! TOTD: Make sure to let them know you want the Dine Out FTL menu. It's a separate menu attached in the photos.

I was able to try the dine in Lauderdale at Jay's and I was super shocked that it was not busy on a Sunday night. We all had the lobster oregenata for appetizer, prime rib for main and the cheesecake for dessert. I absolutely loved our waitress, Kelsey, who was so sweet and kind. The lobster oregenata was not bad: it was lobster in a creamy sauce which I had no idea what it was just based off the description. The prime rib was seasoned a little too salty on the sides but it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The sides, creamed spinach and mashed potatoes, were not bad but I think there could have been more spunk to it. I really loved the cheesecake in comparison to the key lime pie which was way sweeter! Ps. I think it's becoming increasingly difficulty to find prime rib these days.

My girlfriend insisted I take her to Jay's. I don't think even she knew what to expect. Wow. We had front row seats to a full fledged burlesque show with beautiful and engaging dancers. Service was attentive but not smothering, and our wine glasses were always full. My date thought the lobster mac was a bit light on the lobster, and *poof* a heaping bowl of lobster meat appeared. The food was very good- filet mignon with béarnaise sauce, lobster mac, and a "signature" Potato Dauphinoise with a Duckhorn Merlot. Lots of fun for a special night out. Dinner for two was about $300 all in. I can't wait to go back.

I had been to this location under another restaurant and really enjoyed, so when we saw a new place had opened, we immediately wanted to try it. It also helped that TikTok was all over it, and now I know why. We made reservations for Saturday night. As soon as we arrived our table was ready. The setup is great! Middle bar, great for those who just want to go for a drink and have a more casual night. There were some more private areas, and we sat on the "main room" where the DJ was playing. There was another small bar in this room and the beautiful glass windows add to the romantic vibe. We were also told that there are nights with a live violin or a live saxophone. Let's start with service. We had someone come and take our drinks menu, and she started working on them quick at the bar area. Then almost instantly our server came, Guillherme. Friendly, helpful, just excellent. He made great recommendations, kept coming back to make sure our glasses were full and that we had everything we wanted and needed, but loved that he also knew when we were mid-conversation and just walked around our table looking for the right time to approach us. 5 stars! Food was great too! Starting with the sourdough bread, warm and delicious. The crispy tuna appetizer was amazing. And the filet mignon was cooked perfectly to order. The lobster risotto was a bit salty for my taste but I'm sure others would appreciate that. To finish we had the baked Alaska, which is beautiful, and sure to bring a smile to everyone on the table when seeing it come to you. The DJ as mentioned, played the entire time we were there but appreciated it not being too loud, so everyone is able to have comfortable conversations and not have to shout the orders. We are already planning to come back with some other friends and hope Jay's in here to stay!

Got invited to Jays for my birthday dinner and loved it. This is your time to dress up and fine dine. Loved the remodeling the did, this space used to be Holy Blue that closed but originally it was a church. They practically have three spaces and three bars. An outside patio area, the main dining room area with a bar and the nightlife area which is dimmer and darker with chandeliers and beautiful stained windows. It is also where the DJ is placed. The food: They had a bread service, complimentary bread that had somewhat an herb seasoning on top, and even though the outside was crunchy hard, the inside was warm and soft, so good. We ordered a seafood tower for two. Honestly, it could have fed four people, it was a lot, but we ate it all. It came with caviar, tuna tartar, blue crab, lobster, oysters, shrimp, it was delicious and fresh. We also shared a 72-ounce Rib Eye that was great and cooked perfectly. We ordered the tasting salt to dip the meat in; my fave was the truffle salt. For a side, we had the pomme potatoes which are like scalloped potatoes and that did not disappoint, It was cheesy and good. The staff was incredible and on point, however the fun part was when the owner, Jay stopped by to introduce himself. He took out a Sharpie and signed "Happy Birthday" on the table, then the rest of the staff came and signed it as well. Before I left, they wrapped up the tablecloth and gave it to me as a memory, now I have a new tablecloth at home lol! That was a cute personable touch to the dining experience. Jay also gave me a dessert platter that had three desserts; a thick and creamy cheesecake, a homemade pudding and a dark chocolate mousse cake. All three were amazing, I really can't tell you which one is better, it all depends on what you like. This is the place to go to for a celebration dinner or just because you want to have a great meal with admirable service. There is a small parking lot on the side but if not, street parking is available across the street. PRO TIP: Ladies drink free on Thursdays.

I came to Jay's in Fort Lauderdale last Thursday for their Ladies Night and it was everything I didn't know I needed. Every Thursday from 5 PM to close, they offer free drinks with any food item, and let me tell you, the food alone is worth the visit. I ordered the chargrilled Oysters Rockefeller, and I honestly haven't stopped thinking about them since. They were 10 out of 10. Easily some of the best oysters I've ever had. They're baked East Coast oysters topped with bacon, leaf spinach, cream, and a Parmesan Reggiano crust. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. For drinks, I had a lemon drop and a French 75. Both were really good, but to be honest, I came back for the oysters. I couldn't even wait until the next Ladies Night. I came back the following Wednesday because I was craving them so bad. Eugene was great. He made us different flavored shots and really helped make it a fun girls' night out.I smiled ear to ear when I walked in and saw him. I know I wanted him to be my bartender again and he remembered me which was even better. Who doesn't love an attentive bar tender. Also had a chance to speak to the assistant manager, John and he was a really cool down-to-earth guy from Maryland like me so I enjoyed that connection and he explained how fresh their oysters are. The oysters are lucky duck oysters and like I said, I definitely recommend. They are a must try. The atmosphere at Jay's is beautiful. The music is just right and the space has a really nice vibe. It's perfect for a date night, dinner with friends, or even a birthday dinner or special occasion. It's the kind of place where you can come for a laid-back happy hour or get dressed up for something a little more special. A really good mix. If you're in the Fort Lauderdale area, I definitely recommend checking out Jay's on a Thursday night. Good drinks, great people, and food that will have you coming back. PLEASE look out for Eugene he is extremely attentive and mixed for drinks

Much needed in Flagler Village. Gathered to celebrate my mother's birthday here and had a lovely time with her.

Lobster Oreganata, Roasted beet and goat cheese salad, bread for the table, lobster macaroni, tuna crispy rice, and cheesecake. Everything tasted great. My favorite was the lobster oreganata. I loved our waitress, the service, the presentation, and decor. John stopped by our table and made me a wonderful mocktail. 1000 percent would come again.

With so many new and established steak houses in town, Jay's needs to step it up if they want to survive. We walked in without a reservation and although the hostess told us there was no problem to sit at a bar high top, the service was still riddled with hiccups. Wait times, attention to detail, and overall responsiveness. We ordered drinks after a few minutes and watched as the drinks sat on the bar for 10 minutes before making their way to our table. Food: We shared a filet, Dauphinois potatoes, lobster oreganato appetizer and a vodka pasta dish. Filet was pretty standard. The potatoes were very undercooked. The lobster was fishy tasting, freezer burnt and not prepared in a traditional oreganato manner. Pasta a poor choice, sauce was subpar (error on our part). The manager stopped over to check on us and he noticed the potatoes were not touched. We told him they were undercooked and he offered to take off our bill. Needless to say, he forgot. We will not be back. Too many other options in this town that consistently deliver much better quality at the same price. Pros: There was a DJ with a live sax player performing; Nice ambiance.

I was so excited to try this place out and was really let down by my experience. I honestly didn't even know holly blue shut down and this place had opened in its spot. I loved holly blue so I was especially looking forward to seeing what this place was like. As ambiance goes, the place is super cute just like holly blue was. It's very dark and cozy vibes, with one side being more quaint and intimidate while the other side is more loud/lively with the live music/performers. There's also a small lounge area right when you walk in and an upstairs area, but not sure how to get a seat there. Upon arriving, I gave the host my name and reservation information and she let me know we would be sat very shortly, which we were. I asked if we could sit on the performance side but she said it was full for the night. Idk how it was full for the night, as when you make a reservation it doesn't ask you to specify where you want to sit. Despite that little set back, we still enjoyed the quieter side we sat on. There is one main big bar (just like holly blue) right when you walk in, and then there's 2 additional bars in the church room to the right where the performances are. I don't like that you have to walk between the main bar and some booths to get to the performer side, cause people who are at the bar just stand in the middle of the walkway blocking the way and the staff is trying to attend to the booths there, making it even more crowded. There's barely space to move there. As for our meal, I had more things I didn't like than the latter. For starters, our sever was terrible. I won't name names cause I don't want to get him in trouble, maybe he just had an off day or was new, but goodness I never want him to take care of me again lol. He greeted us rather quickly upon seating and provided us with menus and water, however, when he came back to take our drink order we tried to order some food as my step mom was starving and he refused us to order anything, and said we had to order everything together and that we had to wait till he was back with the drinks. We then asked for bread at least and he said he would bring some. About 20-30 minutes goes by before we get our drinks which is ridiculous. Once we get the drinks we finally order our food, and also again ask for bread. It takes him another 15-20 minutes before he brings the bread. It was getting to the point I was about to get up and ask another worker for it. Another thing I didn't like about our server is he would enter the dining area, assist one table, and run away again. He never came and checked on all his tables which made it impossible to flag him down. Once we finally got the bread it wasn't even warm, so why did it take so long to bring? As for the rest of the food, we got the zucchini flowers which I personally loved, but my step mom wasn't the biggest fan. 3 flowers come with the order. For entrees, my step mom got the 8oz filet mignon with the dauphinoise potatoes and I got the Maine lobster risotto. My step mom liked her steak but wasn't a big fan of the potatoes. I also tried her potatoes and thought they were dry and just not great. As for my risotto, my goodness it was probably the worst risotto I've ever had. It was dry and unseasoned and there was even bits of lobster shell or something in there that was crunchy. It also comes in the biggest plate ever for no reason, as they could easily fit it in a smaller bowl/plate so there's more room on the table. For a place that is on the expensive side, you're not getting your moneys worth. As for the drinks, I got the comme ci, comme ca and the Latin medicine. The comme ci, comme ca was soooo good! I could drink 10 of them. The Latin medicine wasn't anything special. Another issue I had were the bathrooms. I went in both bathrooms and both were out of paper towels. Even the larger stall that has a sink inside had no paper towels. I had to literally go under the sink to find a roll of paper towels and put on the counter to use. All in all, i like the idea of this place, but idk if I want to come back, if only for a drink at happy hour or something.

A beautiful space in a deconsecrated church, beautifully transformed. Service was really attentive and friendly Our steaks were tender and perfectly cooked. Sides of roasted carrots, creamed spinach, duck fat fries were delicious The wine list is thorough, but definitely on the pricey side Favorite things: many restaurants are after a mix of disco and supper club vibe. Jays carries it off well. The DJ kept a soft beat that complimented the evening, at an appropriate sound level. A guitarist added rich highlights to the atmosphere A very enjoyable evening

I've been to Jay's before for happy hour and really enjoyed the burger, so I was excited to come back with my husband and friends for dinner. Unfortunately, this visit left me a little disappointed. It was a Wednesday evening, not overly crowded, yet the service was very slow. When appetizers arrived, my husband's salad was mixed up with a friend's. Later with the main course, A friend ordered one medium well and one well done. Halfway through eating, they realized their steaks had been swapped. Details like that matter a lot -especially if food allergies were involved. The staff bringing out plates didn't seem very attentive. As for my own meal, I was the most disappointed. I ordered a steak medium rare, but the first bite was overwhelmingly salty-like pure sea salt. Both my husband and a friend tried it and agreed it was inedible. I had to send it back, which I rarely do. The replacement steak came out clearly undercooked and not at all medium rare. It went back barely uneaten, (as seen in the picture) which was very frustrating because I had been looking forward to it. On the bright side, when my friend mentioned the issues to the manager John, he immediately came over, apologized, and surprised us with complimentary shots, which were delicious. Both John and our server John were excellent-very kind and attentive after the problems were raised. Ratings: * Manager John & John waiter 5 stars * Service (speed & attentiveness: 1 star * Accuracy of orders: 1 star * My steak: 0 stars Overall, I'll still come back to Jay's for happy hour, but I won't be returning for dinner.

I loved this place. From the decor to the service to the food. Everything was top tier. I already know this will be a place we frequent often. We had the wagyu tartare and tuna rice for starters. Both were delicious. For entrees we have the ribeye and Chilean sea bass. Both were so good! We shared the mashed potatoes, lobster Mac and cheese and mushrooms. There wasn't a bad dish. 10/10 recommend.

5 stars- atmosphere 3 stars- service 4.5 stars- drinks 2 stars- food I usually don't rate these things individually, but I had a hard time figuring out what to rate this restaurant. I have been here twice now. I wasn't too impressed the first time. Tonight didn't help. The atmosphere of this restaurant is really nice. The north side feels very upscale. I was here a week ago for a birthday dinner. I had a glass of Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon. This was very good. I ordered the prime rib trolley, as did several others at our table. The prime rib looked real good. It was cooked just right for me. When I ate it, I did not think it had much flavor. Those of us who ordered this thought it was bland. The creamed spinach was ok. The potatoes were tasty. Someone at the table ordered steak frites and he said it was pretty good. He did eat it all. Thursday, I met a couple friends for Ladies Night. We sat at the bar. I wanted to try their burger.I asked for plain fries. Theirs are advertised with duck fat. I did not want that on my fries but unfortunately that is all they serve. No plain fries. It was kind of sad to eat this lonely burger. I wasn't too hungry so I figured it would be enough. It turned out I did not eat much of it at all. The burger was served luke warm. The bacon was meh. No ketchup and mustard served with it. I usually do not add these when I am at a fine dining restaurant but this burger had very, very little flavor. After several minutes, I asked a random server for these because the bartenders were busy. Unfortunately, the ketchup and mustard did not help. I actually got a cheeseburger on the way home from BK. Anyway, the bright side was my lemon drop martinis were excellent. I would probably come back here only for that. The dirty martini was not good. Neither was the olive.

We decided to do ladies night at Jays on a Thursday night. Their ladies night deal is ladies drink free with the purchase of a food item at the bar. You must be able to sit at the bar in order to be serviced, so be sure to get there early to grab seats, all three bars were really crowded. We tried a few items from their happy hour menu and also from the regular menu. The food was certainly good so I am definitely looking forward to coming back for dinner. The service at the bar was a bit slow, I think they need more people for such busy nights, but the staff was friendly and doing their best to keep our glasses filled. Overall I'd says it's a fun spot with good drinks and delicious food.

Thursday "Ladies Night" Bartenders were rude, never offered the specials, and I got charged $19 for a no-name Pinot Grigio. When I asked about the free drink, they said it's only for people sitting at the bar -- even though I got there before 6 and there were no seats left. Bad attitude, confusing rules, and overpriced drinks. Hard pass.

Took some coworkers here for dinner the other night and had amazing meal. Saw a video on instagram that there prime rib service was inspired by house of prime rib in San Francisco and knew I had to check it out, so when my colleagues said they wanted prime rib I knew exactly where I needed to go. Started our meal off with oysters, bone marrow and the lamb chop appetizer which were all great. We all did the king cut prime rib for our entrees and were not disappointed. Don't know if it was better the House of Prime Rib but it's the closest I've found anywhere. Service was great throughout the meal. Vibe was very energetic and this seems like the place to be. Would definitely return! 10/10

We celebrated our anniversary here and from the second we entered to the moment we left, it was fantastic. The ambience is a cross between old school steakhouse meets modern and eclectic. We ordered the miso Chilean sea bass and the KC steak rare, which was perfectly cooked. Highly recommend! Petrossian is on the menu, for those of you who like epic caviar. They also have a really interesting selection of appetizers, but we ended up getting old school wedge salads that came with a nice, thick bleu cheese and candied bacon. The manager was so nice and came up to chat for awhile with us. Same for the server, Paola. She was great! I'd highly recommend Jay's as your next night out.

If you are looking for beautiful and fun environment for a night time lounge/dinner outing this is the place to be, to go solely for the food would not suffice. I originally found this spot through Dine out Fort Lauderdale posts for a special menu. Coming into this experience excited but left disappointed with the quality of food served from this menu. I can't imagine the quality is the same for their main menu but I am intrigued to find out. I had the caesar salad as a starter, the prime rib as an entree and the key lime pie as a dessert. The prime rib I ordered was meant to be medium well but was served to me almost rare, to where it had to be returned. I then was asked what I wanted in exchange and ordered the Radiatori Pasta, which was spicy and delicious. The service from arrival to end was also attentive but seems that they are quite busy so there can be longer wait times for food and drinks. Overall, this establishment is vibey and worth it for just a night out with some apps and drinks. I will need to come back again to try the full menu which maybe offers a different experience as far as cuisine.

Went in for happy hour. The restaurant is so cute inside with the stained glass windows and modern velvet chairs. They have an amazing happy hour with $5-7 vodka cocktails and food under $15. We also had the lobster oreganatta the bartender suggested. It was SO good. Will be back for ladies night. On Thursdays women drink for free with the purchase of food!

Went tonight for the dine out Ft. Lauderdale deal. Very nice decor, great service & fabulous food. I had the lobster oreganata appetizer, the 10oz prime rib medium rare with au jus & horseradish sauce served creamed spinach & mashed potatoes. For desert the key lime pie. Everything was so delicious!!!!

Everything we tried at the soft opening was delicious . The place had a very fun vibe for a steak house . Entertainment was fire dancers and dj. and they offered plenty of different craft cocktails. I'm excited to see this place open as a full blown restaurant. They had a super yummy chocolate mousse desert that I will go back for!

We had a fantastic date night at Jay's. From outside it seemed kind of dead but as soon as we stepped inside it was lively and exciting. The hostesses were a bit off putting and that's my only criticism. Service wise, amazing. Our server was personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. It is inside of a beautiful old church. The bar was impressive and liquor selection is extensive. The complimentary bread is a big fluffy thymey soft and crispy delicious treat. They nailed the wedge salad with chunky blue cheese and thick bojuie bacon. The reason I picked this spot though is for one thing. Prime rib cart. This prime rib was actually perfect. Soft rich fat with buttery pink meat, crunchy on the ends and dusted in Montreal seasoning. People were getting ginormous Kings cuts and bringing half home. I got just the basic city cut and it was enough and then some. You can certainly ball out here but if you want a really good upscale steak house meal, you can make it work. Will definitely be back and I hope Jay's can maintain this level of satiety for the years to come. Well done Jay!

How incredibly disappointing! I came with a friend for brunch which is advertised as a buffet with an add on option for bottomless. Let me start off with the fact that this a steakhouse and there was literally two protein options none being steak. This was nothing but an all you can eat pancakes and desserts. The seafood was one very small three tier tower with plain oysters and shrimp(the cocktail sauce and lemons appeared about 30 minutes later). At one point they even ran out of plates and it took about 30 minutes at a time to get drinks so the bottomless was not even worth it. We ended up spending almost $400 for two people which insane for the quality and over all experience. Who I'm assuming is a manager did come to our table at one point to apologize for how slow things were but nothing was comped or offered for inconvenience. They did have an event going on but I don't find that to be a good excuse if you were still going to be open to the public.

The whole restaurant is a vibe. The DJ was amazing. Played some great songs it wasn't to loud I still was able to hear my friends. Stephen was a very great server he was very knowledgeable and gave amazing recommendations our food came out tasty and done to perfection.

My prime rib was cold and chewy. My beer was warm....The side potatoes and creamed spinach weren't good to me(my opinion). The servers were great but there was a lot of confusion when our food came out. The wrong plates were brought to our table and then taken away. Sides were missing once our food came out. The restaurant is beautiful but the service does not justify the price. Mind you, each bottle of water is $10, is tap not an option? The live music was terrible. I would imagine that a Friday night would have the best entertainment that the restaurant has to offer. Also, it took a long time to get our check.

Stumbled upon this place which had literally opened a week before we found it. Great eminence and music. Staff were still working the kinks of service and knowing the menu but the food was good.

This place was so beyond mediocre. The ambience is pretty nice but the Food was a 5/10 and for the prices they get it should be incredible. The DJ they had was also terrible. Wish i could recommend but would have been much happier at the Mortons down the street.

My wife and I went to visit Jays during the dine out Lauderdale month. The environment is absolutely beautiful, staff are extremely nice and attentive. At first, they did not bring the dine out menu but after asking they immediately brought it. The appetizers and drinks were great! Steak itself was not memorable, as it was dry. Reason I give 3 stars is because I found hair deep in my key lime pie and when I showed it to the server, they asked if I wanted another piece. In my mind "there's probably more where it came from..." so I refused. But the manager never came to apologize, I don't know if they were informed.

The restaurant is beautiful and the live music was amazing. The drinks were so good and the service was great. Was taken here to celebrate my birthday and the staff made it so special. Giovanna was so sweet and an amazing server!

After hearing about Jay's opening, we decided to try it. It has only been open for five days! Got there at 5:00 pm when they opened, parking was easy, on the street, right in front. I didn't see valet parking. Upon entering, the vibe was good, music was lively and we were seated. Seating was comfortable. Started with the bread which tasted unexpectedly great! Our server was attentive, didn't rush us, and we really enjoyed the meal. A place we would go back to.

Delicious food, good drinks, great service. The vodka pasta and prime rib were both 10/10. Wedge salad and caramel cheesecake also highly recommended. Great addition to the area

We came here on Thursday night for the all day ladies drink free happy hour, and everything we had on the menu was delicious, shrimp tempura, and cheese bites were my main, and everyone else tried the other happy hour items and enjoyed them. We also ate the Rockefeller oysters (not happy hour) which were so tasty. The service was a bit slow but only because the bar was PACKED. Their service was still kind, and all staff treated everyone well from what I saw. Eugene got us right with the drinks and shots for our party, and we basically closed out the bar. Had a great night. The manager John is pleasant also, checked in on us throughout the night and kept his cool throughout the hectic night. Though it was very busy, it was a great vibe, enjoyed the music and the people we met. I'm here now for the second time in about a week. Jaylene was my bartender this second time around and she was great also, and Gene was also wonderful.

Jay's did not live up to the hype, and my friend and I who are longtime locals who enjoy fine dining were quite disappointed. We went with high hopes, having been to the same space when it was Holly blue. It's still a beautiful space. There's no question about that. And on the plus side, they've turned the music down to where it still creates a fun vibe, but you can actually talk without a megaphone. We went in with high hopes to try it out for the first time, lord, in part by their very attractively priced Tomahawk Tuesday, $125 for two. Flemmings has done this and runs at year round. Flemming does it right, recognizing the Tuesdays is a slower night than most of the other six days of the week. They also recognize the people may want to try a restaurant out this way, since both of them run at least that much per person when you order off the regular menu. Flemmings gives you incredibly high-quality and very generous, full-size portions of the sides, salads, and desserts that come with this. Jay's on the other hand, serve you an airline size salad, dinky, side, portions, and desserts, and while their Tomahawk is listed as the same size and may well be, it is not good. It was tough and had a ton of fat on it. Tropical Acres steaks are better at a fraction of the price and this stake which normally goes for $200 and a sized 10 ounces larger was more the quality that you would find at an outback. In other words, edible but not prime beef and not delicious. All in all we felt like second class citizens ordering this. From my point of view, that's a wasted opportunity for a restaurant that should recognize that this is a Tuesday in July, and that people like us, had we had the same experience as Flemings gave us, would be back with friends over and over, and ordering the various other items on the menu , probably on a weekend. Also, no one cleared the salad plates when someone brought out the main course and sides, and no one corrected that for nearly 5 minutes. Any longer and we would've sent this whole thing back. On another note, on the regular menu, they feature prime rib served from a rather grand silver trolley , like a fine London hotel, famous for that. We inquired about it, and we're told that the big roast that we saw being carved two tables away, has no bone in it. Another missed opportunity and mistake, in this writers opinion. All in all, this is just the latest entry in the single, most crowded field in all of upscale, dining, the steakhouse. Fort Lauderdale has a bunch of them, including Daniel's, which we have yet to try and which from a marketing standpoint seems to be going head-to-head with this place . Catch and cut, which also opened recently, was a better experience on every level than this restaurant. Chima and Fogo de Chao offer at least as nice in atmosphere, better food, and a far better value than even this attempt at a bargain. My advice to this place, but frankly more importantly to Daniel's, is if you're gonna bother to offer a promotional menu, either treat the customers who order it as well and as generously as you would treat anyone, or expect them to assume that that's just the way the restaurant is. Which means, in short, don't bother. Because it will backfire. If you can deliver a great steak, accurately prepared with good generous sides, I guarantee you people will come back wanting more.

Great ambiance, great service, really good steaks. We had the tomahawks. Super chill and classy spot with main bar, main dining plus lounge dining, second bar, and back bar (later at night.). Looks like they can put on shows or entertainment but both times we were there it was chill for dinner. Weekends are louder and later. Awesome spot for classy happy hour. Entrance isn't really marked which is fine, so just know where you're going.
