The 9 Best Instant Coffees Out There | Eater

"Offers both a regular instant (The Daily) and a standout decaf (The Nightcap); The Nightcap is described as a blend of organic coffees grown in Oaxaca, Mexico and delivers a balanced palette of toasted nuts and cocoa nibs." - Oliver Strand

Jazz coffee. Even if you don't know what jazz is, the music here is enchanting and for our breakfast the saxophonist/wind musician was so good. Peaceful, in the background and songs you will know for the boomers reading this. The ambiance was so soothing and traditional. Sipping coffee, hot chocolate or babying your fresh juice sin sucre and taking in the smells of the open kitchen and the jazz, what could be more enjoyable? The bathrooms were immaculate and the architecture and the quality of the toilets was top of the line. Make sure you stop in. Water tank with purified fresh water in the kitchen at the server table. Dishes were so classy and they served hot chocolate in clay bowls. Attention to detail here can be seen, heard, smelled and tasted at every turn. A pleasant assault on the senses. Mollettas and enmoladas were our choice, but it was a close call between that and the bagel lox and cream cheese, but when in Mexico! Also if you are impatient, wait till you are on Mexico time and then visit. Food was outstanding and well worth the wait. It was our first time trying both the maletas and enmoladas.  The milletta's were wonderful with a dark brown rich slightly sweet mole. The enmoladas con sausage we're also great. The bread so soft yet delicate and the sausage was perfect. Neither one of these was overly picante or burning hot to the mouth. The salsa that they provided was like nothing I have ever had before. It seemed to have a sesame seed base which was which toasty and nutty. It was pretty hot but it didn't matter to me because it tasted so good, I was able to deal with the heat.  On top of the enmoladas I put the fresh onions and tomato and then loaded up on the salsa with sesame seeds. Just an amazing breakfast. They took Amex but wanted the tip in cash. I was told the musician was hired and paid for by the restaurant and I was not too tip him. One last point. They have an automatic roof over the courtyard. How amazing is that? I thought you only found this in billion dollar stadiums, and they opened and closed it during our breakfast.

Live sax music for breakfast, a super start for a traveler day. Family table waffles looked fabulous. My croque madam was very rich. Wait staff were so polite.

I’ve been a few cafes here in Oaxaca and this one has to be “the one.” I ordered the omelette and added the smoked salmon and avocado. WOW! The salsa and corn tortillas that come with it! Amazing. I had the French press coffee and I swear it was like the perfect pairing to the food. It just elevated the taste and flavour of my food. The staff are great! Very attentive and helpful. The atmosphere is lovely, lovely!! The art, the sunlight and seating options are great. I was able to do some work and enjoy my delicious coffee.

We had a nice lunch here. We ordered a plate of fruit, the guias de chochoyote y guias de calabaza soup, and the chapulines memelas. Every dish was tasty. We especially enjoyed the memelas. The chapulines had a nice lemony flavor. The coffee is also nice. You can sit in the courtyard for lunch or order from the cafe counter to-go.

Yelp
Actually pleasantly surprised with this place. I didn't expect much since reviews on Yelp are low (though Google has much higher stars as per usual), but the food we got was delicious, even if simple, and the space made for a great place to sit and work for a few hours with decent wifi. Service was excellent. Note that the prices on the menu didn't seem to reflect the prices on the check -- check was cheaper than we expected.

Yelp
Wandered in looking for an espresso machine (instead of the Aeropress we found in a couple other places) and was not disappointed. I had the best latte I've had in a long time and that includes the ones I make in my own kitchen! I was so happy every time I took a sip. Service was quick and friendly and the barista spoke English so it was a simple, low stress transaction that ended with my having the most memorable coffee experience I've had in a long time.
