The Best Bushwackers In Nashville - Nashville - The Infatuation

"At JB’s, Bushwackers are elaborate affairs with toppings, drizzles, and general ice cream chaos. Choose from flavors like Peanut Butter Bomb, Thin Mint, and Oreo, or go all in with the Banana Split: a classic Bushwacker with a float of Blue Chair Bay Banana Cream Rum, chocolate sauce, strawberry puree, and whipped cream. The banana flavor is subtle, adding a nice layer to the classic flavor profile, and the fruit puree brightens things up, keeping all the cream elements from being too heavy. This isn’t really the place for a straightforward Bushwacker, but we appreciated JB’s dedication to slightly unhinged maximalism, which doesn’t stop with the drinks. There are nearly 20 TVs in the dining room in case you need to see every angle of the Titans losing." - bailey freeman

We stopped in Nashville to sleep on our cross country road trip and we were absolutely beat. We needed something to eat and everywhere was closed for some reason at 7pm on a Monday. But thank god JB’s was open and boy was it so worth it. First off, the ladies were absolutely wonderful. They were very nice and gave me great recommendations to order for take out to bring back to my wife. For one meal I got 1/3 rack of ribs, grilled chicken, hush puppies, and loaded tater tots all for $21. And everything was delicious. The tater tots were amazing. The ribs were fall of the bone and I loved the bbq sauce. We’ve never had hush puppies before and we loved them. So crispy and tasty. We also got an order of brisket nachos. They were really good. The chips got a little soggy because I took them back to our Airbnb, but the brisket was so delicious. So tender, well seasoned, and very juicy. And then the waitress recommended I get the bacon cheeseburger salad with thousand island dressing and let me tell you how worth it that was. She split it into two take out containers because I mentioned I was sharing with my wife and I’m so thankful. It was fantastic. The cheeseburger was also seasoned nicely, juicy, perfectly cooked, and all of the toppings made the salad an excellent choice. All of our food plus tax and tip was $60. Please give JB’s some love if you’re in Nashville. They deserve it.

My tots were cold. My wife's brisket sliders were dry. They did bring a fresh round out. But why couldn't they do that the first time?

Google
My whole family loves the variety of the menu! The food is great quality with large portions. The service is nice but it can be loud at times, which is to be expected in that environment.

Google
Adding this place to my favorites list! Great atmosphere paired with excellent service. The drinks were cold and at a reasonable price. JB's in my opinion has some of the best chicken tenders in Nashville. Also I really enjoyed the chili. Went twice in the same week and brought my family the 2nd time. Give this place a try you won't regret it!

Google
pretty disappointing, set up, nasty avocados, those fries were requested to be extra crispy…. the credit card machine defaulted to a recommended 30% tip. Do better. Called and spoke to the manager “C” when told about my experience, she said “thank you so much”.

Ted Faulkner

Google
Nice sports bar with decent food. Our server was new but still did a great job. The fried bologna bites did not suck! Burger and Buffalo Chicken sandwich were both tasty, with decent portions.

Google
My hub and I enjoy eating here regularly. The service is excellent - everyone is friendly and accommodating. The food is wonderful with nothing left to be desired. We especially love the brisket, wraps, burgers and wings. I enjoy their salads, too. We are grateful for this spot close to home.

Google
I'll be honest, I was expecting so much more. The venue is nice and clean. The food is good but was very basic. I had a plate of chili, which was only just warm, the last few spoon fulls were cold by the time I was finishing up. The staff were very friendly. The black and tan was very good. The food was well presented. As there are so many better restaurants close by, I doubt I'll be back.

Yelp
Awesome naked wings with spicy pour house sauce it the best! It's a must try! Five stars for sure!

Yelp
Great happy hour, honest pours, food is good++ never been disappointed. Friendly gals tending bar. Guy, not to much. Great for football, local hang out. Can't beat the catfish , as good as any I've had and all reasonable.

Yelp
Look, it's a great place and the food is Amazing, so if the service is a little slower than what you would like, it is worth the wait. I recommend the Cajun chicken pasta- it's great. A large portion and worth ordering twice.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid spot to watch ball, drink and pretty good food. Pretty good service at the bar. New hamburgers are good (on Wed I believe). Worthwhile.
google avatar

Carolyn B.

Yelp
Bar food Fish could have been crispier. Tacos were a little dry. But axe throwing is fun to watch. The server was a little slow.

Yelp
While I have been to the Pour House many times I will not be coming anymore. My reasons are 1. Ambience - ok it's a sports bar but when you have garage doors of glass and most of the glass looked like the had not been cleaned in at least 6 months you start looking around and see the inside tables are worn with scratches and gouges in them. Artificial flowers just look cheap. 2. Service...it's always a bad start when you can't find out what beer they offer because they only have QR CODE you must scan. Did not have my phone so didn't get any beer. Our waitress was covering both inside and outside tables so service was slow. I noticed a group was seated next to us prior to our ordering our meals. We ordered, had a bit of a wait, got our food, finished our food and the people next to us finally got their drink order. They had a different server so believe this is more systemic. 3. Food....rocky top chicken was bland, catfish was just nasty. On the plus side the do have plenty of tvs and apparently drink specials ......but that is not enough for me to return.

Yelp
We came here because we needed a bar that was close and served good food and drinks. It was a Tuesday afternoon and they have 2 for 1 the entire day on Tuesdays. I love their specialty cocktails, beer and liquor mixes, and all around themes. I had tater tots, catfish nuggets, fries, bushwacker, wings, fried pickles with Pour House hot seasoning, 2 cocktails, and a beer. The food was decent and the drinks tasted good. Service was a little slow and the mixed drinks did not have as much alcohol as I wanted. It was good. This would probably be my go to bar in Nashville.

Yelp
Nice large sports bar feel with great food. The staff is friendly and attentive. Our orders are delivered quickly and accurately. My son loves their fried burrito!

cheryl l.

Yelp
Booked JB's for our son's rehearsal dinner - Totally Casual - Mostly 30 yr olds. Jason was so accommodating to what we were looking for, for a fun evening of some bar bites and good beers! Well rounded menu of sliders, quesadillas, wings, pepper rings, salad, and ahi tuna, set up for everyone to grab a bite and walk around visiting with family and out of town guests. March madness on the big screens made it that much better. :) Our server was on her game and kept the drinks coming! Thank you Jason and staff for a great evening before an even greater celebration!

Yelp
I haven't been to JBs in a few years cause the service was so terrible the first time - this was a Thursday afternoon while I was running errands. Service was good, didn't have to wait very long. It's a sports bar, I got a cocktail quickly and ordered a chicken sandwich (added cheese and bacon) with tots. Took about 15 minutes and was cooked well, the chicken was a full thick breast which I don't prefer for a sandwich, makes it harder to eat but that's just personal preference- it was seasoned very well, not dry - very pleasantly surprised. Tots were fine. Would go back for decent bar food and good service.

Yelp
When you watch a movie and there's a good bar scene, that is this place. There's first responders and old women eating and leaving with to go plates at 3 in the afternoon. That's how you know this place is the real deal. Amazing beer selection and happy hours. Will be back
google avatar

Yelp
We love this place! It's around the corner from us and a big space for watching the games. Lots of tvs, good prices on drinks and food-huge variety!
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday afternoon with my friend. We started with the fried pickles. They didn't have much flavor. The pickles were super dry. The ranch was good. I ordered the chicken tenders. The batter was over spiced with pepper and mystery seasoning the staff couldn't tell me the seasonings. Last, there was straw paper IN MY WATER CUP. I didn't even use a straw. If the pitchers of water and glasses aren't clean, how do I trust anything in this resturant?

Yelp
We needed a late night spot that was still serving food! Pour house was an excellent choice! Pour house isn't just bar food. We all got an excellent meal! The appetizers & drinks were great! The entrees were excellent too! Our server was great! There are plenty of TVs to watch various games but it's still quiet enough to have a conversation. We really enjoyed pour house & we'll be back!

Michelle S.

Yelp
Menu has something for almost everyone. Our party had burgers, wraps, barbecue, the club sandwich, and the bologna sandwich. It was all good. The loaded tots appetizer was delicious. Service was good. Ambiance was fine. We were there in the middle of the afternoon.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I eat here once a week when not cooking at home and it's by far one of our favorite places to eat. We always order it to pick up and bring home and it has never disappointed! Not even come close to disappointing. The food is always so hot and fresh and the customer service is great. I order the catfish bites with fries and he gets the tenders and fries and we share an order of southwestern egg rolls. CHEFS KISS!!!
google avatar

DOUGLAS H.

Yelp
poor service, food was delivered with no salt or pepper shakers, took a waitress almost 2 minutes to bring ( had eggs ) cooling fast! the tri tip meat was requested rare and what I got was very well done shoe leather. we had a beer and a fly got into the beer after 2-3 sips, took glass to the bartender and she acted put out we requested a replacement. When getting the bill we asked the waitress if we got charged for the replacement beer and her response was oh yea I forgot to take that off the bill. Maybe they treat their regulars better!? All around very poor.

Yelp
Great food and great service! I love the catfish basket! I intend to go back more often.

Yelp
I love to support local businesses in Hermitage and Donelson, and JB's Pour House is a fun place to go to meet friends for relaxing after work, getting some good and drinks, and having great conversations. Our server Amy was sweet, helpful, and attentive. Food was good and served hot! And to top it off, it was during the big storm, so nice to be safe inside enjoying each other's company. Kudos to JB's pour House! Very clean all over, as well!

Stephanie F.

Yelp
Every single time I order delivery from here, they get my order wrong. Never again. I always order the turkey burger with no tomato, lettuce or pickles, but when I do that, they leave off the avocado and onion as well that comes with the burger, so I literally just get cheese, turkey and bread. I also always ask for a wheat bun instead of that weird square bun that is way too much bread and never get that either. Done ordering from here.
google avatar

S R.

Yelp
I've been here a few times, decided to order a to-go order today and service was horrible. I had to wait in the restaurant 30+ minutes after I received confirmation the food was supposed to be ready. I had to ask 3 people about my order before anyone actually helped me as there was no host to be found. Finally after getting my cold, meal with some mistakes in the order I just gave up because I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for a warm / correct order. Not sure I'll be coming back again.
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
We've been to JB's a few times over the past year and it's always been a solid meal. This is a sport's bar and we've always gotten typical sport's bar fare (wings, fried pickles, sandwiches, beer, etc...). It's always been exactly what we're in the mood for (which is why we come here). The fried pickles are very good and the wings are our favorite in the area. They always have a lot of games on and decent beers on tap. It's a solid place overall!
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Ashlyn was great. Love the casual Sat. afternoon vibe; sports or no sports. The watermelon sour beer was great for Summer and could eat the cheeseburger salad w/ ranch every day. We haven't been there in a while, but will sure go back soon...

Yelp
Brought friends in from out of town for my first visit here thinking it was a good spot since the parking lot always seems full. It was sadly a big let down. They seemed to have plenty of staff but we stood at the host stand for a bit ungreeted, then were taken to a table where no one came by for over 5 minutes when I saw multiple waitresses standing near the drink fountain hanging out, several that looked over. Our waitress acknowledged she was new when she finally came by. She very much needs more training. After taking our order, it was about 10 minutes before we got our 1st round of beers which was ordered before our food, seemed like she completely forgot as it wasn't that busy, and didn't seem to occur to her we were still sitting there without drinks when she came to take our food order later. We ordered an appetizer specifically as out first, but she brought it with the food, which came out a good bit later too. Never phased her that we specifically ordered an appetizer & when we pointed it out she was unconcerned. I ordered 10 wings and asked if I could get 2 flavors (which is listed on the menu too). I've worked specifically at a wings place before, outside of just liking wings & never in my life of someone asking for two flavors, especially when I said I wanted 1/2 hot, 1/2 lemon pepper, would I have imagined thinking they wanted all of their wings tossed in two flavors, and when one is a dry rub, and not have at least ASKED the customer to clarify if they wanted the whole order as tossed with both. They came out 10 hot lemon pepper. Maybe people order like this here often? Best I can say here was that the wings were good sized. Additional drinks took too long and we had to point it out again to our server. Brisket sandwich was insanely dry. Just sooo many misses that was really a let down considering I had hoped to come back to enjoy watching games here. Beer selection seemed good but not sure if that is enough to get me back.

Yelp
We've been going to JB's for years now! Such a fun spot with a variety of options for food & drinks. Excellent service, all of the wait staff is so accommodating and friendly. Great spot for game days or a meet up for drinks!

Stefanie B.

Yelp
Great servers and bartenders. Kitchen is accommodating and staff is very nice for what I've seen them deal with, including some demanding and rude customers and handling several take out orders.
google avatar

Lora K.

Yelp
Good atmosphere and the food has been good. Nice outdoor area as well. Lots of space for customers, dogs are ok in patio area. BartenderS are great.

Cheryl Y.

Yelp
I love this place. They are friendly and it's large with tables not all crowded close to one another. The fried pickles have light breading and are delicious. The bbq pork, catfish poorboy, chicken tenders , burger, and fish and chips are my favorites but it's all good I think. Portions are ample and service is good. I e joy going there for lunch a couple of times a month and always enjoy my meal.
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
This establishment proved to be a pleasant surprise. I wanted their combo, but the combo I wanted didn't exactly exist, but I'm grateful for how accommodating they were so I could have my chicken and brisket. It was great. Even the coleslaw wasn't bad. It was probably good but I'm just not a coleslaw guy. I don't eat catfish but the catfish is what brought us in. Those who ate it, enjoyed it. The seared ahi tuna was a just right. I don't care much for fried pickles, but it was free for checking in, and it was pretty solid. This is a great spot for a late afternoon lunch, to catch the game, or for just some good grub.
google avatar

Yvonne B.

Yelp
We went here for the 1st time yesterday service was slow kitchen even slower. I assume it's from no help which I'm pretty tolerant then my sons chicken sandwich came out raw. So it took forever to get a replacement, and they didn't even compensate us for the undercooked chicken should've at least been comped.
google avatar

Jeannie M.

Yelp
Great service. Very tasty food! Nice outdoor seating area. Also ordered the chips with salsa and queso which was delicious. Washed it down with a Yazoo Hefeweizen. Our party also had the honey BBQ wings, Buffalo chicken wrap and the sliders. No complaints! I would definitely eat here again.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
In town visiting family and wanted to go out and watch a game. The server, Courtney, was quick, courteous and efficient. I felt even more welcome and charmed when I asked questions regarding the menu, due to dietary concerns. Thank you JB's for having 1. GF options 2. Servers that understood dietary concerns 3. Servers that were kind and knowledgeable. The food was tasty, service was quick and we were grateful to be able to get a bite late after traveling all day. It was March Madness, and it awesome to catch the game in a warm inviting restaurant that wasn't too loud. I'll be back. Loss of star because I'd love to see more healthy options, cider on tap, better clarity for settling up when finished.

Vickie S.

Yelp
Went today was slows so you think the service would be good not so much ordered food I got the club wrap easy enough it was awful! The bacon was like salad crumbs it had no cheese totally flavor less when waiter came by and I told him so he just said sorry you didn't like. Ok I ate maybe 2 bites so not like I finished it and complained about it later he never offered to change it or if I would like something else. we will not be eating there again.
google avatar

Matthew E.

Yelp
It would be nice if published hours of operation were true. Got to wait 20 minutes outside in a thunderstorm for an Uber when they denied services at 12 on a Saturday night. Kicked us out after saying google had corrected hours. Website and door say otherwise. This is a far cry from the neighborhood bar it used to be and we will never give this establishment business again!
google avatar

Quentin T.

Yelp
The reviews on Yelp could lead somebody to shy away from this place but I'm glad my large group of friends didn't care. We came here on a Saturday evening after a long boat day on Percy priest. There were 9 of us total & we didn't have to wait to be seated even at 6:30pm. The place was popping & there were ball games on so we expected a bit of a wait for service. Our waitress was very nice but seemed to have her hands full with all the business so it took her several trips to get all of our drink orders in. I ordered a tea & it never arrived but I had water already so no big deal. As for the food, the fried pickle basket was free courtesy of a yelp check in offer. It was large & they were perfectly crispy and not soggy at all. I ordered a mix of 20 chicken wings tossed in mojo & mild sauce. I'm pretty sure the mojo one came out as barbecue because I'm familiar with mojo & that was not it. They were really good wings though & I'm not picky. All in all, we were here for a few hours playing darts and ping pong (free just show your is to the bartender). Would come back for sure.
google avatar

Rich M.

Yelp
Good for beers and watching a game. Food is what you'd expect from a sports bar, its good, not stellar.
google avatar

Lauren J.

Yelp
This is the first restaurant/bar/pub I've been to in over a year. I was so so nervous about COVID precautions but those worries faded when we arrived. All the staff had masks on and signs were posted everywhere to enforce the mask mandates. The tables were still a bit close together, but since we went later in the evening, the bar area wasn't super packed. Robyn was our server and she was AWESOME. She was very personable and funny and made some amazing food and drink recommendations. Everything we ordered was great, but the fried banana peppers stole the show. Definitely check this place out and request Robyn when you do!
google avatar

Chris O.

Yelp
I'm giving 3 stars because without asking, me and my date's meals were comped. They do have about 20+ beers on draft, wine and I assume cocktails because they said the have a full bar. I also understand this is a sports bar so their food isn't their speciality. The atmosphere and the beer is probably what its supposed to be about. But, I do hope/expect they have something good on the menu as far as food is concerned. The server was very friendly and constantly checked on us and tried his best. We had the chips and queso for an appetizer. The chips were basic chips that your get at a ball park and the queso was no better than canned queso. I had the BBQ Baked potato with brisket and my date had boneless garlic chicken wings and a side salad. We came in at 8pm, prime time. The side salad had wilted lettuce and the ranch dressing was suprisingly terrible. The boneless chicken wings were almost slimy and really bad, to be honest. I feel like frozen Tyson chicken in an oven is way better. The baked potato itself was ok, but the "brisket" was so fatty and by far the worst brisket either of us have ever had. The smoke flavor seemed fake. My date said shed rather we go to Arby's or McDonald's next time. The atmosphere is loud. Me and my date could barely have a conversation. I get it though. It's a sports bar. I feel like the bar should be way bigger though if that's what it's all about. 10-15 chairs is not enough. If you want a kind of expensive bar to watch the game at, then go here. But do not go for the food.
google avatar

Mick B.

Yelp
Good food. Can't miss with the Catfish nuggets. Service was very prompt and waitress was real friendly. Would try it again.
google avatar

Brad H.

Yelp
Fantastic value, good comfort food, clean venue with easy parking and friendly staff. A wonderful local business and one I look forward to returning to again.

Jacqueline B.

Yelp
Good for cheap drinks for large groups only. Food is awful. It's just your basic sports bar.
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
Consistent food, love the wings especially the cucumber wasabi and great beer choices. Always looking forward to wing Thursdays.
google avatar

Misty N.

Yelp
Been going here for years....cold beer, good food (usually) and fair prices. Today we went in and ordered one of our favorites....grilled chicken tacos. These have always been a go-to. Delicious and one of the healthier options available. Today they came out completely different. Way too much blackened seasoning and the tortilla was covered in crispy cheese which adds whole lotta unnecessary grease into the mix. And they're not nearly as tasty now! Y'all.....if it ain't broke, don't fix it! They were so much better before you went and messed with the recipe! You get 4 stars because we still love JBs...but I had to deduct a star because you completely messed up one of the best menu items you had. PS Lundy (the bartender) absolutely made things right by removing the charge from our bill. Thank you, sir!
google avatar

Elisabeth H.

Yelp
I really like this place! Foods above average, (it's typical bar food) but worth eating. They have a pretty good beer selection and can make a good shot. Service is an 8.5/10, sometimes it's the best others it's just okay. I'll be back and I would recommend, especially if you are looking to watch a game.
google avatar

Jen B.

Yelp
Some of my favorite things about this sporty bar and grill on Lebanon Pike: -Free Fried Pickles when you check in with your Yelp app on a fancy phone. -Nice draft beer selection, which meant that I got to try a few new local beers. -The Best Hot Buffalo wings I've found in this area of town so far (and I have been looking.) It's a casual place, more bar than grill, but we enjoyed everything we tried, including a little salad, the fried pickles, and the buffalo hot wings. The waitresses we attentive without being intrusive. We will definitely be back at some point! The one thing I found odd about this spot was the placement of the bathrooms, usually in a back corner somewhere; here they are right next to the front door. After I went to three different openings along the back wall of the dining area a finally said out loud "Where are y'all hiding the bathrooms?!?" A fellow patron pointed be to the front exit and said "right over there, sweetie."

Virginia H.

Yelp
We got carryout again and I have to say we were extremely satisfied with our choices. This time I had the spinach fruit salad and it was huge and it fed 2 of us for 2 days!!! So much fruit and the spinach looked like it was just picked!!! Haven't had that great and fresh salad since I moved to Mt Juliet 5 years ago!
google avatar

Stephanie H.

Yelp
I have made other reviews they stopped using fresh chicken for their chicken strips they are those flat sodium loaded frozen chicken breast pieces that are dry and have no flavor . They gave me 2oz cup of honey mustard for 4 extremely dry chicken strips So if this was your go to think again . Plus I had 11 fries with them so garbage was a good place for my dinner ... just sayin . At least for this failed meal I think when they use nasty chicken, versus the fresh they used to they should let people know .

Tiffany I.

Yelp
Service, food, drinks, atmosphere, everything about this place is great! We Always take friends and family here while they're visiting!

Yelp
First time coming to here and i will say amazing staff and service. Food was fast coming out after ordering and was amazing. Recommend for anyone looking for a good place for food and drinks. Best place i have seen in a long time. Keep grinding jb pour house.
