Im not from Houston, Came here with a buddy just cuz we were driving around looking for a place to drink. First thing that hits you as you walk in was the cigarette smell. Really strong. But it look like a cool spot to chill,but we never got served, sat there for 15 minutes. We decided to leave and go down the street.

The drinks are cheap, the service is great overall, and the people are very friendly. A great little hideaway to relax after work. The food could be better, but overall a great drinking spot.

Plenty of pool tables in good condition. The hamburger is fantastic. The staff is nice as well. I like it when pool leave plays here. And they have regular height tables to sit at. Not just bar height.

Upon first arrival, this looks like a great bar to relax at. I don't have any real complaints, but I'm very optimistic on the experience!!!

Thursday 's steak!!, is awesome...so juicy and tender, but You must go early, otherwise they finish soon!!! They have music on live and great bands!!! But the last but not least is the price, is CHEAPER!!!!

If you’re looking for a bar like cheers where everybody knows your name-this is the place for you! All the bartenders are great, but Kathy and Miranda have truly become family! They take such good care of us! Even the food is great- shoutout to Pedro!

The review drops from 4 stars to 1 because of the rudeness, contempt, and outright hostility with which I'm treated by the bartender Buffy every time I go in there. It keeps getting worse, and yesterday afternoon when I went in, she treated me so badly that I've finally decided to avoid the place if she's there. I don't understand what her problem is with me... I'm a good tipper and I behave when I'm in the place. Also, I should mention that it looks terrible when Buffy sits on the beer cooler with her feet up on it. It's a very unprofessional look, when the bartender literally has her behind and the bottom of her shoes up on the cooler in which bottled beer is stored. Gross!

It was so disappointing being there for the first time. I got there at 9pm for steak night and they were out of steaks after waiting for half and hour just to order. I don’t recommend at all.

Waitress forgot our drinks. Not the best customer service first time here. Steak night was sold out by 8:30 pm we will try again.

We are in the area for a couple days and selected BJ's for lunch today. we picked due to good reviews and we are posting to reiterate the service is great and the food delicious Daniel was our server, he was very kind, informative and attentive. You must try their hand crafted on site RootBeer! We Get rid of liked the experience and menu options so much we are going back tonight for dinner.

So a buddy of mine has been trying to get me to JB's for a while now. Especially for steak night, but they've been sold out. Never knew this place was even here. JB's reminds me of that good ol' neighborhood bar/pub. Yup gonna be cheesey here & say it: where everybody knows your name!! LOL But honestly I could tell it's a place full of regulars but they're nice to the new kid on the block too. Man am I so glad they hadn't run out of steaks when I finally made it. That has got to be one of THE best steaks I've had in a bar EVERRRR!! It was a true, thick cut, moist juicy ribeye. Perfectly medium as I asked. They've got to have one of those old school gas flame grills back there. The loaded baked potato & green beans that came with it were just as yummy. Oh and the drinks are great! The bartender Kathy was my fave kinda bartender: Great personality, knows how to make excellent cocktails, sweet smile & some light hearted trash talk to go with it. To top it off, plenty of screens for the games, pool tables & dart boards. Nice mix of music to go along with it. The only downside for me is smoking's allowed indoors. I smelled like Malboro 100's & my allergies gave me hell afterwards...but it was totally worth it! So yep, I'll be back. Yelp on my friends!

today at JBs was awesome, our server was good and the steak was actually well done!! Everything tasted good, this bar does allow smoking so just beware. But you can't beat 14 dollar steaks and some football for thursday night!

4 STARS for the food. Ordered a bacon burger with fries. WOW! F'in' DELICIOUS!! The only negative thing is the drinks. I used to bartend and not even a shot is poured. So if you want beers, play pool, and great food this is your place. Going back soon and I'll take a pictures.

Just wanted to say Haley was a great bartender she was very tentative all evening. We all enjoyed the evening and met some nice people.

My visit was cut really short so I cannot speak of the food or the service. What I can comment on is the ambiance. That ambiance hits you in the face as you enter their doors. If you are arrive at a sports bar to watch the World Series and want to eat some grub whilst watching said baseball game, you might not want secondhand smoke in your nose/lungs/eyes. All of those body parts want to have a pleasant experience without the stench of such This place had that going on in such a strong way that I must assume it's normal. You would think this day and age that all bars located in the city limits of Houston don't allow smoking indoors. I guess that must not be totally true or they are somehow "grandfathered" If you can handle the smoke, this is your kind of place.

Sad news about this place they only have a fryer on site and no longer any grilled food. Considering it's a sports bar seems like they would want a full time cook.

I am livid! I go here a lot esp on Thursday but the last couple of times our waitress was rude rude and she still rude but that's okay, I order my steak Well done! I cut it and it was PINK not even medium well done but pink, it took forever for our waitress to come so I could let her know, she took it back and I got it finally well done but by that time I was sick. I ordered a steak to go for my boyfriend!!!! And it was PINK as well. This is not okay, I tried calling up there today to complain but the number isn't working. I understand everyone is team medium but we aren't. I need someone to contact me

I love JB's. Very casual and feels like a "Cheers" kind of vibe. Everyone knows your name. They make my drink to my perfect request even ordering ginger ale in a can cause that is what I like. All the empys are great but one stands out above the crowd. The wonderful great KATHY! She is the full package. Always helpful and smiling. She has worked there for 15+ years or something like that. The steak night on Thursday's is some of the best in town. Melt in your mouth.

1st time here. Was invited by friends for a birthday celebration. Kathy was great and quick to get my order and had a great smile. Would recommend. They had live music and have darts and pool tables if that's your thing.

Good food, amazing staff, usually friendly regulars. Kathy is there just about every night. She amazing. If it's not Kathy then it Brian. He's just pretty. If you decide to go on a Monday then you will have the pleasure to meet Buffy. She's also amazing and just a riot. Love this bar. Love this staff.

Still the most amazing Thursday Steak Night EVER! Steak is always perfectly cooked and soooo tasty! Massive, awesome sides of salad, fresh green beans and loaded baked potato. Ask for Kathy, most amazing bartender ever! "If you wanna go....where everybody knows....your name"

Nice folks, but flat, bottom of the keg beer. Also no food on a Monday night at 6pm? Is this a "Grill?" I think not. Oh and who still allows smoking inside? This place!

Seriously great tasting crawfish all you can eat $20 every Sunday! Mike makes amazing crawfish! The bartender nick and Kathy are so welcoming! Deff my go to crawfish spot for Sunday's!

I love this place! Awesome people who are very friendly . But I was here on karaoke night. I would've signed up, but some girl was up on the KJ all night. I kind of felt like I was intruding on them. So that was weird.

I love this bar... Kathy the bartender is AMAZING, Nick is awesome, quick at opening bottle beer and mixed drinks, atmosphere is incredible, you have a variety of individuals young, and elderly... I love the low drama and this feels like a small town pub. I love hole in the walls and this one by far is my favorite one in the city of JV/Houston. Tuesday Night - Karaoke Thursday Night - Steak Night Saturday Night - Pool Tournament & Karaoke Tart Boards are also available Large TV's shows every game you can think of Great ventilation for smoking I recommend you make a stop here!

Awesome place to hangout, pool bar games,great people good food -steak nights are great and priced really good and the new brisket tacos are awesome . The bartenders are very sweet and helpful.

Up until tonight, I would have given 5 stars because the service and atmosphere are great, but now that the main reason for me to drive so far (5+ hours), Donovan Ti's karaoke show, will no longer be there, neither will I.

This is such a great bar. Everybody is good friends and they make you feel welcome. But most of all the bartender Kathy is the best bartender I have ever had in 15 years of going to bars. She is truly awesome!

If you don't know you can't afford it!!! Best bar around!! Hands down!!! Bryan is the best just slightly under the always happy,amazing,and beautiful KATHY, and last but not least my amazing girl BUFFY (and no she does not kill vampires) SO DON'T ASK....‍

Based in the first two bites: this may be my new Steak Night go to!!!!! Wow!!!! That statement was said my first time here. I'm back for my third time! The steak - ribeye- is cooked to a perfect medium rare as a ribeye should be. Don't know what the seasoning on the steak, but I believe it is swimming in delicious butter. On to the rest of the meal: huge baked potato all the way, al dente green beans cooked with bacon and onions, and a salad with purple onions, croutons, and shredded chedder cheese. All of this for $12!! That's right $12!!! Now the atmosphere is sports bar. I feel very comfortable here. Only minus is the smoke. The smoke eaters are running, but it is what it is. Do not let that stop you from trying this place! Smoke is the only reason why I couldn't give this place 5 stars.

JB's Pub ( formerly Mike's Place ) has been around for a really long time! I personally love this bar! I know many of the regulars and they all love it as well! It is like a large family that welcomes people with open arms!

best around! goood prices for gooood food, and everyone is so nice and attentive. its also a good place to bring the whole family, the place is a little small, but its cozy and well kept.

Kathy is amazeball's, best bartender ever! Her blonde assistant is pretty easy on the eyes, too. Great drinks, great prices, great personalities behind the bar, what more could you want??
