After doing a lot of research and deciding to add a new member to our family, I reached out to JC Aviary. One thing to know upfront is that they handle communication by phone only — no texting or DMs. If phone calls make you anxious, that’s something to keep in mind. That said, my calls were almost always answered or returned promptly during business hours, which I really appreciated.
I placed a deposit on a Sun Conure and was given an estimated pickup date toward the end of February. The key word here is estimated, so it’s important to have a little flexibility when planning. They were very helpful in answering my questions and setting clear expectations throughout the process.
They are readily available during their open hours, but they do not typically initiate follow-ups — you’ll need to reach out if you have questions. As a busy mom of four who also runs a business, I didn’t find this to be an issue at all.
At pickup, sales tax is applied, and I also purchased food, treats, and a toy. There are no visible price tags in-store, and I received the total with tax at checkout. I didn’t ask for individual pricing, but that may be something others would want to inquire about ahead of time.
Most importantly — our bird is absolutely beautiful. She is friendly, active, and appears extremely healthy. We received DNA confirmation of her sex (female), along with a hatch certificate and documentation of veterinary clearance from a local vet, which gave us great peace of mind.
Overall, I truly appreciated the information provided and found the owner to be friendly and knowledgeable.
