I tried this place for the first time and left so impressed! When you come in to order, the owner greets you with the nicest smile. I got a patty, shrimp alfredo and fried plantains. The jerk chicken patty had the softest, flaky crust. Their shrimp alfredo was so pretty and delicious. This deli is such a neighborhood gem!

Saw the reviews and had to try it. I got the curry chicken and jerk chicken patties. Both were good. We also got the jerk chicken egg rolls and the jerk philly as seen in photos. Everything was seasoned well. Even the french fries were delicious and seasoned to perfection. This is my new spot. I will be back!

I just found this resturant! I ordered through Doordash. My food was amazing! The food was delivered quickly and it was still hot. The beef patties were hot on the inside, and the crust was flaky. Reminded me of beef patties from Brooklyn,NY. The egg rolls were equally good. I will be ordering from here again.

I was so hungry at work and been trying to find a spot that sells Jamaican food because you know, I’m Jamaican. I don’t know if this is a Jamaican store but the food? Slaps! I had the Jerk Chicken plate with rice and peas, cabbage and plantain. Does the cabbage have coconut in it? It tastes sooooooooooo good. Didn’t know cabbage could taste like a whole meal 😭 And this is the FIRST I’ve ever ordered food on this app and it looks EXACTLY like the photo! Excuse the photo quality because I was in a dark room. 😂Portion size? 10 out of 10 because I had half and I’m fulllllll.. so, dinner later! Ohhhh and I didn’t even see the gravy or sauce on the food. That food needed nothing more, PERFECTIONNNNNNNNNN… but I’ll try the sauce later. Kindly tell the chef and the server they did an AWESOME job. Thank you… I’ll be back

Y’all - the food is good and the price is right. Piping hot, fresh, flavorful food with large portions. The jerk pasta is creamy, the garlic bread is toasty is soft, and it has plenty of veggies and cheese

I had the 10 piece lunch wings special (jerk) and they were DELICIOUS. the jerk sauce is on point, wings were cooked well, meaty and crispy, 10/10 will be back. good vibes good food

This has got to be one of the best jerk chicken spots that I found since moving to Atlanta. Flavor profile on point, heat on point, cabbage, and rice peas on point. Plantains, Chicken, patties and that jerk sauce!! I highly recommend it. Anyone in the area check them out. Always good vibes And you can tell the love that is put into the food.

My partner had the jerk chicken with rice and peas - loved it (he ate every crumb). I had the escovitch fish - phenomenal; perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, FRESH with the scotch bonnet as beautiful garnish. As someone from south Florida, from Jamaican family and growing up eating Jamaican food on a weekly basis, I can honestly say this is the best Jamaican food I have had in Atlanta since moving here 3 years ago. The customer service is also very kind and helpful. 10/10 highly recommend - This reminds me of the taco trucks or hole in the wall Thai places that go unmatched; trust the reviews, walk straight to the back of this corner store and try this food!!!

Hidden in a charming neighborhood near the campus of Georgia State University, JD's offers authentic Caribbean flavors with unmatched hospitality. The proprietors went above and beyond, setting up a table outside so we could enjoy our late lunch (12:50 PM). They offered a full menu including breakfast, lunch and dinner. We tried the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Wings, Jerk Chicken Dinner with cabbage, rice, and peas, and shared coco bread and jerk chicken egg rolls. The jerk sauce had a kick that, while HOT, it also didn't set my mouth ablaze, the chicken was tender with crispy skin, and the egg rolls plump and flavorful with a sweet-spicy dipping sauce. Portions were generous--enough for leftovers! It appeared to be primarily a takeout spot, yet JD's offered us out-of-towners (visiting from Michigan) a cozy outdoor dining setup. Amazing food, warm service, and great vibes--we'll be back!

These beef patties ($3) and jerk chicken patties ($3). Oh. My. God. I think about them constantly. I don't think I've ever had beef patties as good as these and the chicken ones are right behind them. My husband got a jerk chicken plate w rice beans and cabbage. I couldn't stop eating his food. They give you a feast for $15. If you are a cabbage person, their cabbage is the best I've ever had from a restaurant. Absolutely delicious. This is a small pickup window in the back of a convenient store. When you walk in the store, walk straight to the back and the pickup is on the left. Street parking but plenty of it. This is one of those places that's going to blow up once the hype gets around so go before there is a long wait.

I ordered a salmon burger and it did not disappoint. Fresh big nice piece of salmon and the seasonings! Everything was delicious and the cashier was really nice. This is similar to the deli style like New York and is a to go only establishment.

I've had this place saved for a while and the time finally presented itself for me to try it out. While in the area, my husband and I wanted something quick and good to eat. I initially called before going to ensure they were open. To our surprise, they were open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so we decided to go here on Christmas Eve prior to our movie showing. The store attendant, who assisted us, was nice and helpful. We ordered the jerk chicken egg rolls, steak and chicken Philly with fries. It took about 15 minutes to be prepared. While we waited, we looked around the store and purchased some additional items. Our food came out piping hot and was so fresh. Th jerk chicken egg rolls were something special. The sauce that accompanied the egg rolls was the perfect balance of sweet with the combination of the heat from the egg rolls. The Philly cheesecakes were one of a kind. Definitely one of the best we've had in Atlanta. If you're looking for good, fresh, and hot food, be sure to check them out! You won't regret it!

This is my second review, 4 years later we still love JDs! Our family just had the jerk chicken egg rolls, jerk chicken platter, salmon stir fry, and chicken tenders for dinner. My daughter loved her chicken tenders, my husband loved his jerk chicken and I thoroughly enjoyed the salmon friend rice. And the portions! The salmon friend rice had tons of veggies and a lot of salmon, they did not skimp on the fish. I have so much respect for Vick and Rosco, they are so invested in Summerhill and have the respect of the neighborhood. Their food is fresh and delicious. The customer service is excellent. Please stop reading and go get you some food Also that picture of the chicken tenders was after we ate a lot of the chicken

I'm so glad I found this spot right near where I live. It's a unique little bodega tucked away in the Summerhill neighborhood, and the owners bring that authentic Caribbean hospitality that makes you feel at home from the moment you walk in. Now let's talk food. The menu offers Jamaican/Caribbean food, but don't overlook the sandwiches or the pasta--they're just as tasty! My personal favorite is the jerk chicken. It's incredibly flavorful (even without the sauce) and falls right off the bone. I would also recommend the jerk chicken egg rolls--they really surprised me in the best way possible. tl;dr: I was not expecting to like this spot as much as I did, but if you're craving some real Caribbean heat , this is your spot! And get the jerk chicken!

I am so glad I came here today! After being in ATL for quite some time now, it's not easy to find GREAT FOOD. You can taste the heart, care and the love behind the dishes. Calling all big backs and big back babies! This is place is a MUST TRY. Like go NOW! Great customer Service! Buy a drink or some snacks while you wait. The food doesn't take long to come out but support small. It's worth the trip.

Dug in before I could snap a proper pic. After that first bite I knew I had to add one to a review. Food was fresh and made to order by some friendly gentlemen behind the counter. Chicken was roasted perfectly and the jerk sauce was KILLER! Rice and cabbage were perfect sides. Made my last hour in ATL memorable before hopping on my plane. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you like Caribbean style food.

This place has the most black people hours and menu. You can't order before or after this time or this item is or isn't available at the most random times. The food is good...if you can catch their random hours and sporty availability. It's actually frustrating.

Friendly service, reasonably priced, and amazing flavor. I've eaten a lot of wings, and while I'm new to Atlanta, these are my favorite wings in the city. I will be back.

Yesterday was my first time going to this restaurant/variety store. The customer service was great. No long lines or no long waits for the food. The store was clean and located in a convenient area in Summerhill. I'm still eating my meal from yesterday the portions were amazing the taste and seasoning was indescribable. I will be returning frequently.

I love the hot meals I order from here!!! Honey hot wings might be my favorite but the jerk chicken Philli sub is the best I've ever had!

This store is owned by a very welcoming man who cares about his products and presence in the community. Every time I go there, I feel welcomed whether I'm the only one in the store or it's busy. I appreciate the good food! It's made with quality ingredients and the juice selection is awesome! His produce is really fresh and I literally bought the Sweetest Pineapple I have ever tasted from this store. It's always clean and I see new products I can try too. I'm so happy to have a store within walking distance that has hot food and treats. This time I got the jerk chicken and I have leftovers because it's ALOT of food . Idk what they put in the seasoning, but I'm hooked Oh and it's BLACK OWNED! Win win for me!

I spent 35 minutes trying to find breakfast food at 3pm. On the way home I stopped by JD and was lucky enough to get an amazing breakfast! You have to try the French Toast. Equally important: they have vegetarian dishes. You must stop by.....

Do not order from this place . The staff here is extremely rude . I spent $30+ dollars here and I never received my phone. I called the location the man that answered stated no one never confirmed which was the staffs fault . I asked how long he stated 20 mins , which I was already waiting a hour for . The man said he would spit in my food and then serve it to me. HORRIBLE

I love this place. The staff is friendly and helpful. Also, the food is fresh and delicious. Most recently we enjoyed the vegetable egg rolls and the jerk chicken egg rolls. The exterior was crispy and the interior was super flavorful. They tasted homemade. I WILL be ordering from them again soon.

Best spot to go for just about anything in the neighborhood!!! From fresh produce to authentic beef patties this place has it all. I'm so thankful they have decided to make SummerHill their home! The owners there make sure to greet you when you walk in and are happy to assist with anything you might be looking for!! Shout out to Roscoe, he made sure he introduced himself my first time there very friendly and welcoming.....
