Jean-Georges at Topping Rose House

Had a going away dinner for a friend the other night and we couldn't have had a better experience! The food was great and the staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond! We even got to meet the chef! Chef Mike was extremely personable and professional as well as the rest of the staff! The ambiance was beautiful and I loved the multiple sections for dinner seatings! It was pretty busy but the way the sections were broken up it didnt feel over crowded and allowed us to have the perfect dinning experience! I've been to Jean-George restaurants before and the only criticism I could give is allow more flexibility with menu items as far as new dishes...it does seem like they have a smiliar array of options in rotation at their locations.

Had breakfast this morning there and it was delicious! I had the buttermilk pancakes and they were fluffy, airy and delicious. Eggs Benedict had a delicious hollandaise sauce and the brioche French toast was very bread pudding in the best possible way. Drinks were fine, too!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had my birthday dinner at Topping Rose House, and it was an amazing experience—just like every other time we’ve been there. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress was so kind and patient, even with our little toddler being a bit wild! Gerry was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. They even brought out a dessert with a candle for me, which was such a sweet touch. Overall, a wonderful experience—I’d recommend this place 100%!

Kid friendly facility inside a hotel. We got their baked brie and I got their omelette. Everything was delicious! Beautiful place and I was happy that there was parking. The place filled up pretty fast once we got there but excellent place to visit and we look forward to going back .

A fan of Jean-George’s both here and in New York. The crispy salt and pepper calamari was extraordinary, but was a bit disappointed in choices of three egg omelette and the lobster roll. The texture of the omelette seemed quite institutional, and the heavy portioned butter on the lobster roll made it hard to glean the flavor of the fresh lobster. All in all the crispy calamari made it all worthwhile but hope the chef team will be reading the reviews.

Simple, elegant and modern, my first impression of the theme/decor of this restaurant. We were here for a private event occupy ing the entire dinning hall. The decor and service were great. Food was pretty tasty, but not at a remarkable level. The starters, choice between tune tartar or shrimp salad, were fresh and quite good. The main dishes, choice between halibut or meatball spaghetti were okay.

Great food! Limited vegetarian options, but the few that they did have were excellent. We got the Black Truffle and Fontina Cheese pizza, Mozzarella Tomato and Basil pizza, Celeriac Katsu, Burrata, Kale Salad, Mushroom Pasta, and Roasted Brussel Sprouts. Everything was great especially the Black Truffle Pizza and the Brussel Sprouts. Service was excellent.

Absolutely phenomenal! Everything was outstanding from the drinks, food, desserts, down to the service. The hospitality at Topping Rose was exceptional making my birthday celebration a perfect evening. Thank you Joe, Sawyer, Jerry and Matt!

Happy hour here is amazing ! Lexi the bartender is awesome - great service and very friendly. The food is delicious our favorite was the salmon crispy rice. The fish tacos, chicken sliders, French fries and burgers were very flavorful! Jean Georges is well known and this did not disappoint. Loved the atmosphere it was a cool lounge vibe. Best margarita!

Topping Rose House is an elegant but casual restaurant (I will explain what I mean in the last paragraph). It features a nice entry porch with valet. Located within a small wood-sided boutique hotel, it was not easy to find the main entry at first. We accidentally entered straight to the dining area, so had to walked through patrons to see a reception area. It would have been great for either valet or receptionist outside to guide first-time visitors, or at least provided with a proper signage. I visited two Jean-Georges within a week, so it was a great opportunity to see how the quality was kept throughout restaurants under the chef. Ordered a lobster roll. which I had from the Fish and Co at the Tin House in New York City; surprisingly the same visual and tastes! The roll was perfectly toasted with top-notch lobster meats. Thin-sliced fries were well received by all of us. The tenderloin (cooked in medium) was also great- with smoked peppers on top, well-preserved juicy tenderloin, and well-paired sauce. Fried calamari was also a perfect choice as an appetizer with a glass of Brut champagne. All the staff were very professional and polite. There was something to improve though. The atmosphere was a bit noisy, felt tight spatially, and the circulation was also confusing. There were no dress code, and the coats had to be placed on top of an empty chair. I guess the main reasons are its location and whom it is supposed to serve- hotel guests. For this reason, I don't recommend this place for intimate couples who want a quiet dinning experience, but perfect for a brunch with family including kids.

Topping Rose was... fine. We went for dinner + drinks in the evening and the first round was underwhelming (vodka soda riff with sparkling water / sugar / lemon and a bee-something.) The ambiance is slightly outdated and there's a lot of employees crossing with guests due to the layout but it has a somewhat charming outdated family dining room feel to it. The outside is nicer. Someone's elderly grandparent made a reservation on our behalf and miscounted the party, and one of the hosts (who may have been training? Since there were 2) was extremely rude about it over the course of the hour+ we waited for a table -- the rudest experience from a server I've ever seen -- to the point we left. The other host was much more helpful in helping us set up a new reservation. We went back a couple days later for brunch instead. Drinks were better, but the espresso martini could use a dairy liqueur. The food was good, but not great -- calamari and truffle pizza, lobster roll, and salmon were all fine. The lobster roll being on a potato bun was new and a little odd. Our servers were helpful and staff all around was much more pleasant. Overall everything was fine but nothing special. Would be unlikely to return when you mix the quality with the initial bad taste from the host.

Still a good spot for dinner. This place has been around for years and there is a reason for that's. They easily adapt to their customer base. Jack was our server tonight and took great care of us. Management and service rating is A+ The food was good quality but not special where I would rave about it B+ The Parmesan encrusted chicken is something I regularly get which is good. I got the pea soup which was very good A+ It can take a long time between the appetizer and main course. If you are in a rush than this place is not for you. The kitchen is a bit slow. B

A very cute place that is perfect for a bachelorette party or just brunch!!!! Upon entering into the parking lot I noticed that there was valet but you can also just park your car into the lot as well. The iced coffee was very good. The omelette was OK - the veggies weren't mixed into the eggs, it felt more like a flap where everything was underneath and was not cooked for long. Overall it was a very cute spot and if I did go back I would order a different kind of dish. Pancakes were also delicious!

For years our family came to Topping Rose for breakfast, almost daily. The food quality and service was impeccable. The avocado toast was incomparable to any other, the fruit plate presentation and fruit quality on point, and the service was phenomenal. However, this season as we return, we are floored at the changes and drop in quality across the board. The service is a mess aside from a few strong servers. The food is definitely not Jean Georges quality and I'm guessing he hasn't approved these changes. The fruit plate included fruit that was mushy, not edible. The avocado toast is now barely mediocre. They offer free breakfast to hotel guests and sadly, the corners being cut make it an entirely different experience for paying customers. Perhaps they should have different menus for paying customers versus complimentary breakfasts for hotel guests.

The service was a little slow(compared to New Yorks faster pace) but the ambiance made up for it, there were 2 main dining areas both just as lively, i enjoyed sitting near the bar with the fireplace. We got the oysters, burger, fish, pizza, etc. Everything was so so good, menu changes seasonally. 2nd time going now and I would recommend. Nice for a formal occasion.

The Crispy Salmon Sushi and Raspberry Lychee Bellini I had for lunch were incredible! Lovely experience sitting outside on the patio.

An Aperol Spritz on the lawn on a sunny day in the summer is just pure bliss! 100% recommend!!

Topping Rose was really good. We ate out in the barn, socially distanced, after Cuomo made restaurants shut down at 10pm. We got there at 7 and just made it out by 9:50, even with coffee and French macarons. I must say the coffee and dessert was the highlight of the meal. Everything else was really good, and we definitely paid for it. We did a table ribeye which was good. I did the seabass which was scaled and nice. Also had a couple pizzas, sides, salmon, and surprisingly the chicken breast was standout. Service was perfect. Bar was meh (sent Aperol instead of Campari but fixed it). The ginger margarita was great. Very good, good experience.

I've been to Topping Rose twice in the last couple months and while my husband and I had a wonderful experience our first meal, the second time we went with a large group of friends and had a late reservation - the utter disrespectfulness of the manager unfortunately means we will not return and we will make sure other people do not come here as well. While I understand that state regulations require individuals to order food when they are ordering drinks, it is not up to management to tell us whether I am ordering enough food - that is borderline violation of people's mental health - for example, one of our companions has an eating disorder and it is extremely uncomfortable asking this person to order more than they otherwise would normally eat. It honestly just seemed like a money grab. At the end, he asked us to leave the restaurant and made a scene. He should frankly be fried. This experience aside, the first time we went I thoroughly enjoyed the food we ordered, in particular, I would highly recommend the salmon on crispy rice. If you've ever been to Jean George in the city you also know that the tuna ribbons there are phenomenal - the tuna tartare here is essentially the same except the tuna is not in ribbon form. The steak and lobster we ordered were also very tasty. It is disappointing to have to leave this review, but unfortunately we will not be returning.

The new staff, especially the waiters, were incredibly rude. I was pushed several times while sitting on my own chair. The bold waiter, who was wearing a scarf as if it was a mask, walked by behind me and pushed me in my back and walked away with no regrets. After 15 minutes he did the same. Another waiter almost hit me with his elbow. The food was terribly tasteless and cheap given the price ($168 per person). JUST NOT GOOD AT ALL! The water cost $12 and it was Essentia (not even Acqua Panna or Sanpellegrino) in a plastic bottle that costs $1.99 in Target. There were no table cloths, no embellishments in the room (wasn't it Christmas Eve?!). I guess they didn't want to spend anything to create festive atmosphere for guests. Also, one of our glasses had a lipstick stain, which is unforgivable given the prices and all the fuss about the place. I would NOT recommend this place and will NOT return ever.

Haven't gone here in years...but oh my how things change. This use to be one of the best restaurants in the area, holding the bar high. Now, it's honestly just short of garbage. The bread was inedible/spongy, the lobster was under cooked, the salad was brown. We were first put out off by the server stating no modifications were allowed (even to accommodate a gluten allergy). Once the food showed up (after waiting for a very long time- mind you there were 3 tables seated w/ 6 people total in the dining room), we were incredibly disappointed. I have had the truffle pizza before and it was great, this time 100% meh. The cushions were also stained and the ambiance felt like an airport Hyatt. I guess Hyatt now owns/manages the property so maybe that's why. By far the worst $200 lunch I've ever.

My family and I ate here on Friday night,the menu is now offered as a pre fix. The food was okay not amazing. The dinner for3 with tip was close to $500 , I'm fine with that,however in the dining room the table behind me had a dog seated at there table,in its own chair drinking water out of a bowl! Wondering what the health department would say! The table in front of us had two children one with her feet up on the table playing video games and the other with a backwards baseball cap. The daughter then got up at was jumping up and down at the table for 30 minutes. With all this chaos going on,not one server or host said a word. We will not be back! See photos below.

Not sure about all the other low star reviews, but we come back to this place consistently and love it. The salmon crispy rice is absolutely to die for, I would come back just for this alone. Truly one of the best I've ever had. The cauliflower with cous cous was also amazing and incredible filling actually, as was the salmon, which was perfectly crusted. My husband I split both dishes which made for the perfect piece of salmon and side vegetable, on their own it would have been a lot of one thing but together it was the perfect fulled balanced meal.

Not impressed at all! We came with a large group fir lunch and had two tables outside! The service was terrible. It took over 2.5 hours to get all of us something to eat and drink and this was with a prearranged limited menu! One of the waiters, a blonde guy with blue glasses was completely useless, almost seemed he was on drugs or high. The other one had to make up for it. No vegan options on the limited menu, on the regular menu there's also slim pickings, I was able to get the kale salad without Parmesan then the avocado toast and some fruit for dessert. The kale salad was a bowl of thinly chopped kale! A couple of tiny croutons floating around in it. No other veggies. Not a tomato, no radish, nothing. A total embarrassment! $21! The avocado toast came and I was given a steak knife! The bread had been toasted to such a crisp it was almost not edible! The second vegan in our group gave up and only ate the topping! There was a chunk of avocado mush on the bread, covered in crusted herbs covered with micro greens. A half lime on the side. Nothing impressive. $19 For dessert we had the choice of a cake, ice cream and sorbet and also fresh fruit. I ordered the fruit which was a pretty plate of some berries and melon. Some of us ordered the sorbet. A single ball in a tiny ramekin. No garni, topping, nothing. This place is not trying to impress. Prices are up there. Service and food are not. Ingredients are fresh and the decor is beautiful but that's about it.

Let me start off by saying your money is better spent elsewhere. With the Jean Georges name and price point you would expect significantly better food than what we got for dinner. We got the tuna tartare and bursts to start. Bland and flavorless on both accounts. The tagliatelle with mushroom also had zero flavor and the pasta was essentially mushy. The Parmesan crusted chicken was dry and tiny, although I will give points for the flavor of the base sauce underneath the chicken. Lastly dessert was probably the high point of a mediocre meal, with the chocolate cake being somewhat moist. The drinks were poorly mixed, as if the mixologist is new to the job and needs significant training. All in all I would recommend going to any other eatery in the Hamptons than this one.

The food was absolutely incredible and reasonably priced! The atmosphere was cute and polished I loved it!! I highly recommend

Had dinner on a Friday. Lots of people, loud music, loud restaurant. Had the ribeye steak for two and it was horrible. Grisly and tough. They offered to get us something else but we didn't feel like waiting another 1/2 hour for dinner. We had a couple glasses of wine. Dinner was $492.00 with tip for two people. We live here full time. Not going back.

The loudest place to eat within 30 miles. Tables are way too close to one another. Had to yell to one another over the people at the table next to us, who were also yelling in order that others at their table could be heard. Food was the same as in many many other places within 20 miles - for the price. The pizza is not as good as the one on main street in Sag Harbor or even the at the pizza place in Bridgehampton Commons, both of which are at 25% of the price. Is already a place only for tourists rather than where locals go. Tremendously disappointed after knowing about all the hype about the place.

The food is good - the hostess a disaster If you are an attractive woman stay away from hostess Cornie. I went there with my husband we ask for a table on the corner which always seats two people, she said well now that table will seats three. I cannot give it to you. She preferred to let us leave the place. When she had half of the tables empty. Your management is very weak. We are customers of the Hamptons. No customer recognition.

Working with Amelia for our daughter's Baby reveal was incredible. We had a very specific and special order cake that the Chef nailed! It was beyond our expectations. In addition I had a vision for the flowers and Amelia worked with their florist to create Exactly what I wanted. The Service with Chris and his team was superb. Chris was so attentive and also went out of his way to ensure that 2 of our party of 9 with strict dietary restrictions were met and exceeded our expectations with a delicious off menu meal that we loved!! Everyone loved the food and drinks and the entire Event was exactly as we hoped and then some. Thank you to everyone at Topping Rosefor making our Baby Reveal exceptional

We have been several times to this place and dined there every now and again over the years and were never impressed but decided to try it again this season. However, it remains consistently a disappointment. The food is not so special at all for somebody like Vongerichten's standard as I have gotten used to from New York City to Las Vegas to Hong Kong, other fine places. Dirty plates are not cleared every time I have been there. New courses arrive without clearing the table first. The bread comes well into the middle of your meal. The ordered wine is completely forgotten and by the time somebody queries how everything is the meal is half consumed. Ordered bottled water did not arrive. The staff is very nice but clearly not trained to meet the standard of excellence. The entire experience there is haphazard and very disorganized. The tables are so sticky, look and feel dirty. The paper placemats are vulgar to look at. The seats are so filthy, it turns your stomach. All these amazing dining experiences from the past remain a distant dream at this place.

Thursday night dinner experience during covid times Jul 2020. We had reservation via Resy and we were seated promptly. Reservation was for pool side but surprisingly it was indoor with big glass doors opening to pool. Tables were socially distanced and could feel cool breeze from outdoors. Service was great, attentive. Server made great recommendations and helped navigate thru the menu. Overall food was flavorful. Lamb chops that come with green peppers was star dish for the night. Cocktails were well made and had that kick from first sip. 4-star given due to limited non-meat friendly menu, also the risotto showcased on online menu was missing in reality. Overall a nice meal and recommended for anyone in the area.

The food at Topping Rose is consistently good. Excellent actually, and I must mention that first as I am sure the folks in the kitchen work very hard to maintain high standards. However, the service staff needs training. First, my hamburger which I ordered with no onions or cheese, arrived with both. The waiter delivered the food and didn't return for quite some time so I scraped off the unwanted items and mentioned it to him when I saw him next. He was gone so long we put our dirty dishes on another table so we didn't have to look at them any longer. He also placed the bottle of sparkling water in an ice bucket too far for us to reach and of course wasn't around to pour so we got up and moved it ourselves. Lastly, we ordered iced coffee. One with milk the other with cream. One creamer container arrived and the waitress said it was cream. I poured a little in my empty water glass. It was definitely milk. So I asked for cream. Never received a dessert menu, so we went elsewhere for that. If the expectation weren't so high it being a Jean George restaurant, I wouldn't complain.

My overall impression of this restaurant is that the food is outstanding but the service is lacking. The ambiance in their outdoor dining area is really beautiful and classy, however, if you are dining late at night, the lighting is not quite sufficient. In terms of the food, every single dish was impressive and I would get everything again. For appetizers, I tried the tuna tartare, salmon sushi, and black truffle pizza. Each dish was incredibly well done and had many dimensions of flavor. For my main, I had the parmesan risotto which was extremely good albeit a small portion and the salmon which was also very good. We ordered the sautéed corn on the side and it was very refreshing and a nice complement to the other dishes. For cocktails, I tried the strawberry daiquiri and an old fashioned and both were just okay. I initially ordered the passion fruit whiskey drink, but was informed they ran out of passion fruits. In terms of the service, the general gist is that it was very slow. We got our drinks 30 minutes after we were seated and apps didn't come out until 50 minutes after we were seated. The waiters did not check on us other than to take our order and deliver our food. For a Jean-Georges restaurant, I was shocked that they did not serve bread or an amuse-bouche, nor did they have any specialty touches. The bathroom is a weird set up in that you have to go into the main building and down an elevator in order to get to them. While there is a parking lot, it seemed to not be quite large enough to accommodate all of the hotel and restaurant guests.

I booked an 8pm dinner on sunday, which happened to be easter. They informed me it would be a $78 prix fixe menu, which is fine. We arrived and were handed the menus. As usual we could pick an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. Except ... it was a brunch menu and they were sold out of several of the dishes, without adequate substitution offers. Of the 5 mains, 3 were full-on breakfast dishes (pancakes, eggs benedict, avocado toast). There was a salmon dish that was sold out but they could prepare it with sea bass instead. And there was a lamb rib dish for $10 extra. Shortly after we sat down i heard them telling the next couple that came in that the ribs were sold out as well. I don't eat lamb and did not come to this joint to pay $80 to eat pancakes at 8pm so my option was basically: "not-salmon salmon." Having worked at restaurants in the past, I'm actively endeavoring to be as understanding as possible. So i explained my predicament to the server, noting it's late for most of the brunchier options and asking if she might be so kind as to check if any of the many options on the regular menu might be available. Anything!, i said, even something simple like a burger, pizza, or salad. She just said "sorry, no." I asked, "Would you mind terribly asking the kitchen if there's anything at all they could make as an exception in this situation?" She went to check and later came back to say "they can do a burger but only a very simple one, just really a burger with cheese on a bun with french fries." How appetizing. Whatever, i got what i wanted. Great! Except the food was garbage. Seriously i'm super easy to please and could not finish eating this burger. I had a third of it and they did not bat an eye when they took this full dish away later. My appetizer was fine, a burrata with toast. Hard to screw up. My friend's white asparagus was overdone. She had the pork chops (which were underdone). For dessert, we had a forgettable molten chocolate cake and a almond cake that was actually quite nice despite being paired with an odd tropical fruit sorbet. We saw some people who arrived after us walking out after getting the menu spiel. Wise of them. Everything was also incredibly slow despite the fact there were maybe 4-5 other tables there at most. For the record, none of this is any of the servers' fault. They were all trying but unprepared by poor management to explain the deranged decision to serve $40 egg dishes in the dead of night. Still, an unmitigated disaster of a dinner. Also the decor is heinous: acid green banquet seating and bizarre arts-and-crafty exposed-wiring wall sconces... unsubscribe. I swear a lightbulb was flickering gently like in an Eli Roth film.

This restaurant is stunning whether you sit indoors or outside/ we sat outside surrounded by heaters in the brisk weather. The building facade was a traditional white Hampton colonial. The inside was modern and stunning. I could enjoy a cocktail at that bar for hours. Our brunch eggs were excellent and we really appreciated the unlimited coffee pours. I enjoyed the omelette and added fresh dill and cheddar along with all the fixings. Service was extremely attentive. They even put our still water in a wine chiller to keep it cold and poured as needed.

Food, drinks, service, ambiance -- perfect Outside on the porch is as good as it gets. Topping Rose has, since it's opening, established itself as a first-class, east end dining spot. The pandemic has forced them to function at their best, under the worst of circumstances. Their food and service is better than ever and we just love dining on the porch with warming propane heaters. You gotta try it!

I've now eaten here 3 times over the past few years and I've really tried like this place but...it's just not good. The food is terribly disappointing (with the exception of the tuna tartare). The atmosphere?- not good, if you go in the winter it's freezing and everyone has their coats on, you sit on stained disgusting lime green bench cushions and are served embarrassingly small portions, making the experience even more unpleasant. I'm used to overpaying in the Hamptons, but not for food and ambiance this bad. I've been to many Jean George restaurants and I'm not sure how he keeps his name associated with this restaurant. Would also recommend not having the bathrooms downstairs so guests have to walk through staff areas and dirty stairwells to get to the bathroom. Or at least cleaning the service areas and hallways you have to walk through.

Was there for LI restaurant week. By 2022 standards, excellent service. Had the tuna tartare, faro island salmon, and choc cake. All were excellent, ambiance was very nice.

I ate dinner here last night as I have many times before. It was the Second time despite many many empty tables that I was seated next to the kitchen service. Manager was named sawyer and he was simply horrific-horrible attitude and demeanor. Waited over half hour for an 8:45 table. I will never ever eat here again and I was a loyal customer-food was good but no excuse to be treated awfully -this manager is the reason why people are mocked and derided in the Hamptons for their attitude -jean george you should be ashamed of yourself for allowing this kind of service to prevail!

We had dinner and breakfast here. Great service! I loved my little mocktail (no alcohol!) Buratta was delicious, calamari, my pizza and my hubs his burger was great which I had a bite of. It was my first dinner out in awhile since being pregnant and a great experience, plus great food. I couldn't have asked for a better dining experience for my first pregnant dinner out lol. Breakfast was also really great I just wish they had juices or something too.

I can't believe I'm giving this place as low of a rating as I am. The bottom line: the food is very good, but not worth the money. I know we're in the hamptons, but a $45 lobster dish and a $24 sauceless pasta is far from justifiable. And the vibe was just strange. Very stuffy. It was also kind of insulting to hear pandora radio advertisements while eating $24 plates of pasta... I made a reservation here for restaurant week. When we arrived, we weren't given any restaurant week menus. I asked for one, and our waiter informed us that they advertised on the radio that they stop restaurant week menus at 7, insinuating we should've known this before making a 7:45 reservation. Not sure who listens to the radio for restaurant week updates, but I use the internet and I didn't see anything anywhere. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon blanc ($13)--excellent! I was very happy with it. My boyfriend ordered a bottle of blue point toasted lager ($8) and the bottle date indicated it was over 6 months old. Not a good look, but the beer was fine. We ordered the pretzel calamari, which I thought was great. Some of the best calamari I've ever had. Tiny portion though. I got the burger and my boyfriend got the tagliatelle with mushrooms (both $24). The pasta was good, but lacking in depth and flavor. My burger was great! Perfectly cooked and tasty. Fries were just alright, kinda soggy. All in all, the food was good, but not at all worth returning for.

Overall a very nice experience. Food was only ok, but I may have ordered poorly. My wife enjoyed the sea bass and my picky kids really liked their steak. I got the special pork ribs which were cooked well, but the barbecue sauce wasn't the greatest, like I could've gotten better at the grocery store. Also there was a pepper sauce on the side which was so over-the-top intense that there was little point in even serving it. But, being able to eat inside a restaurant (no indoor dining yet in Brooklyn) was such treat. The staff did a great job at making us feel comfortable - masks, tables spread far apart, large open windows to feel the breeze - that I feel it was worth the hefty price tag.

Four of us had dinner here on the Sunday night of Labor day weekend and were disappointed by the poor quality of our food preparation. Clearly there was a problem in the kitchen. We had the $98 price fixe menu which includes and appetizer, entree and dessert. Appetizers were very good: crispy salmon sushi, burrata with tomato, tuna tartar and crispy calamari. The entrees were all overcooked and ruined. The seared beef tenderloin was served well done versus medium rare, the sea bass was both crispy and heavily oversalted, the faroe salmon was overcooked and the parmesan crusted chicken was bland and missing the parmesan. Our server never once came and asked us how we were or were not enjoying our entrees. Dessert was fine and we found a deal on a Chateauneuf du Pape which we enjoyed. As Jean Georges builds his global empire, we wonder how what quality control mechanisms he puts in place to ensure that his customers can expect high quality in all of his restaurants.

The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly! We enjoyed interacting with them and they made it a joy to dine at the restaurant. As far as food goes, we ordered the truffle pizza, calamari, broccoli rabe, and crispy salmon. The truffle pizza was incredible- full of truffle flavor. My second favorite was the crispy salmon- if you love crispy rice, you'd love this dish. There are only four pieces though so savor them! The broccoli rabe was nicely charred and especially flavorful with lemon juice sprinkled on top. My least favorite dish was the calamari. It was good, and the dipping sauce was tasty but just wish it was a bit crisper. We also ordered drinks and the whiskey fizz was not only tasty but it was strong! Overall, a great experience at Jean Georges!

Wow, how the mighty have fallen. For years, this had been our go-to restaurant for special occasions, but tonight, it was intolerable. We sat indoors in what can only be described as an oven. It had to be at least 85 degrees in there with no air conditioning. Worse yet, there was no grown up there to speak to about the situation. By the end of the meal , I was drenched in sweat. I will say that the food was very good, and our waitress was very attentive, but the temperature was so brutal, it was impossible to enjoy anything. It was really unacceptable for a Jean Georges restaurant, and we won't be back

We stayed at the hotel and had breakfast included with our stay and it was fantastic. We also had dinner here and everything was cooked to perfection. The service was superb. We loved our dinning experience here.

One word. Brunch. Oh my one word. Friends came here yesterday for brunch and came home raving about Topping Rose's eggs Benedict and special pancakes. Thank Gawd they did. Thank Gawd for bad weather that put the group out of the scheduled fishing excursion that caused us to be so lucky to all happen to decide upon TR as the lazy meeting ground to end the great weekend. What a send-off. Without further ado, I'll get straight to it. Dinner that one time months ago was a mediocre rando not bad, not too good night. You want to come to TR for Brunch. Order a double latte. Eat the ethereal soften baguette with honey and jam or just olive oil. And then order the eggs Benedict with smoke salmon. And share the lemon ricotta pancakes with someone. If that's not enough carbs for you order a side of fingerling potatoes- I kid you not, they splice the potato like a rose and fry the hollowed out parts. There is great attention to detail, innovation, freshness, taste and it just seems that you cannot go wrong no matter what you order. That said, order the lemon ricotta pancakes if you like fried, powder sugar, ricotta, pancakes in general and boy are you in for a treat. Order the eggs Benedict with smoke salmon- that is an actual order and not a request. I am a 1000% serious. I would describe it but then I would have to charge you. I was never a breakfast person much less an eggs Benedict- any type of breakfast sandwich person person. Now I am. A dish executed so well can change a person's entire food outlook, apparently. And this dish at TR has made me look at breakfast in a whole new way. With r-e-s-p-e-c-t.

The wagyu and the shortcake were great; everything else was fine. Front of house is nice but the service overall is...abysmal. And frankly I think it's in part because management has a stupid system in place. 1) you can only call the main line of the hotel to place orders with the restaurant -- so I called twice and waited for over twenty minutes before being transferred. Just get an online portal or a direct restaurant number? 2) I called in the early afternoon and asked if I could move my 6 pm pickup to 7 pm...nope. 6:15 at latest. lol okay.... 3) when I signed for the order I realized they had salmon instead of strawberry shortcake. Not a huge deal but they acted like they were doing me a big favor by letting me keep the salmon that they had charged me for haha. 4) they DID have our other dessert on my bill but didn't actually give it to us. This is what I get for not checking the bag ): 5) they didn't give us any silverware or napkins..for a takeout order we planned to eat on the beach...that included steak and pasta. Just a silly experience all around. Would have more sympathy during a pandemic but their outdoor dining was bustling so...IDK why i tipped 30% for this.

I came here a few weeks ago and the food was delicious. My family came during the week so the menu was a bit more limited. I do wish there was a larger menu. The food was delicious. The service was great and our waiter was extremely attentive. Of course the prices were a bit expensive but it was a great ambiance and experience! I would highly recommend!

One of the best meals I've had in years and best fish dish I've ever had- Black Sea bass- a must if you go there. All the other dishes were equally delicious. I can't wait to go back.

Superb food, service and ambiance all came together in a way that rarely occurs in restaurants nowadays and especially in overpriced and overrated Hamptons restaurants. I was impressed with the range of choices available for a prix-fixe menu. The usual prix-fixe scam is lure the diner in with a low price that includes app, main dish and dessert but with mediocre and limited choices. The diner then selects a la carte and doubles or triples the bill. Not so here. Wide selection of apps, main dish and dessert. Chose the Tuna tartare and Black Sea bass both excellent: the sauces with the tuna and bass were outstanding. Service was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. We were greeted and offered cocktails within a minute of being seated. Only flaw was it took too long to get our glasses of wine after the apps with the result we had each nearly finished our entrees by the time they arrived. Was pleasantly surprised to see ample dining rom staff in this age of severely understaffed restaurants. We were seated outside near a heat lamp, perfect for a balmy October evening.

This was my second visit to Topping Rose Restaurant and I was looking forward to an lovely Friday night dinner. My 8pm reservation was confirmed, I even received a text reminder 30 minutes before that they would only hold my table for 15 minutes if I was running late. Upon arrival (on time) I was asked to wait in a small room by the front door for the hostess. There were three other couples already waiting there. No space to socially distance (Covid-19 protocols) and then another couple arrived 5 minutes later. It appears we all had 8pm reservations and it was now almost 8:20pm. The hostess finally arrived and said that our tables would be ready "soon". When asked how long the wait was she said "she did not know - perhaps 10 more minutes as the prior guests arrived late and were sitting at the table with their checks." We then asked her when the kitchen closed and she said around 9:00pm. Well, for a relaxing meal of this caliber we did not wish to be rushed through the meal. We were very disappointed as they could not honor our reservation properly and the hostess was quite indifferent to us and the other guests waiting.

Kale salad taste is so good The place is awesome. Very elegant hotel with nice garden and great service.

We would give 5 stars but for the bartender. She was rude, dismissive and not a good mixologist ((she worked the dinner shift on 9/20)). She continuously threw glass bottles into the recycle bin like we were in a dive bar with music so loud it wouldn't matter. Because TR is elegant and so quiet that you can hear your neighbor's conversation two seats down, this was incredibly disruptive. Two guests at the bar in addition to us asked her to "place" the bottles in the bin not throw them and she said "what, I'm just doing my job". We drove 35 min and arrived 45 min early to enjoy the famous bar and this is what we got? In our opinion, she needs an entire retrain (if she's amenable) or to be re-homed to your local dive bar as her way of being wholly does not match TR; shame..... Alternatively, Andre was our waiter and he was on-point: 100 stars!! He was kind, attentive, gave fantastic suggestions and was always there just when we needed him, thank you Andre!!! The Female hostess with the black sweater and tennis shoes was lovely as was the rest of the staff. The food was excellent, especially the crispy Salmon. Thank you, Jenna and Gavin McClure

My husband and I came here on Friday night of Easter weekend while we were staying in the Hamptons upon recommendation from the owners of the B&B we were staying at. My husband got the black truffle pizza and I got the Fresh Papperdelle with artichokes and chili. Our food was good, but I felt like the service wasn't great because it just felt like we were an inconvenience to our servers. We aren't big drinkers, so we passed on drinks and stuck to tap water, and I just felt like they weren't happy with that. I also asked to change my order if they could, and again, they just seemed to just not be happy. The service made me feel like we weren't wanted, so I passed on even seeing the dessert menu. I feel like for a place so nice, the service just needs to be better.

since Jean Georges took over this place is consistently my fave. perfect for lunch and dinner.. perhaps they could update menu more often buyt the regulars are always delicious, and the staff are always delightful. Large Martinis are excellent!

Food is great, ambiance very summer Hamptons love! However the restaurant service is atrocious! Called for a reservation only to be hung up on 3 separate times.. when finally connected was told they could accommodate me and was told to hold.. once picked up again the extremely rude hostess now said they were booked for the evening and hung up the phone. I look forward to the days where bar seating is available as the bartenders are about the only members of staff that are polite professional and overall great!
