The 6 Best Restaurants Near Acadia National Park 2024

"Acadia is home to the highest peak of the Eastern Seaboard, so your mom is probably going to wake you up at 4am to hike (or more realistically, drive) up to the summit of Cadillac Mountain for sunrise. After those spectacular views, properly fuel up and caffeinate at Jeannie’s Great Maine Breakfast, which opens at 6am. The staff will greet your table with an entire carafe of drip coffee, and you’ll want to order a stack of blueberry-filled buttermilk pancakes as soon as you sit down. If you need protein to keep you awake, they also have great savory options like their vegan breakfast burrito and a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich." - anne cruz

The 15 Best Restaurants In Bar Harbor, Maine 2024

"If the pancakes from Jeannie’s Great Maine Breakfast aren’t on your cute small-town Maine to-do list, they should be. The buttermilk blueberry pancakes have so many berries in the batter that the edges of the stack are a deep blue hue, and adding a pot of real maple syrup for $2 is worth every penny. The homey diner is only open from 6am-1pm and gets packed with families and park-goers, so either arrive early or browse the nearby shops for lobster-themed ornaments while you wait. There are also a lot of vegan options and protein-rich plates like breakfast burritos and omelets to power your busy day of gift shopping. " - anne cruz

The place had a nice, lively atmosphere, especially with the city already buzzing outside. Try to get there early to avoid the queue. We tried the corned beef with potatoes and the stuffed French toast filled with cream cheese and blueberry jam—both were delicious. The staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Parking was a major challenge, though, and the food was a bit on the pricey side.

Google
This place really lives up to the name - Jeannie’s Great Maine Breakfast is exactly that. We ended up eating here two days in a row because it was so good. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The Garden Omelet (photo included) was packed with veggies and perfectly cooked, and the blueberry pancake was light and fluffy. Even something as simple as a single scrambled egg and coffee was done just right. The rhubarb sauce on my toast (see photo) is a nice in-house touch, and each table has this option. It’s a welcoming, relaxed spot that clearly takes pride in what they do. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in Bar Harbor and want a solid breakfast to start your day.

Google
We greatly enjoyed our food here! The strawberry jam was delightfully scrumptious. Everyone enjoyed their food and we’d def go back if we were in the area. The employees were super friends and the service was pretty fast. If you want a good breakfast def stop In here and they will take care of u!

We went in to grab breakfast before heading back home. There was a little bit of a wait but we really wanted to try this place and I'm so glad we did. I ended up getting the lobster omelette and let me tell you I think that was the most lobster I had the entire time we were in Maine. I couldn't believe how much lobster was in this omelette. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was spectacular. We enjoyed everything and we are so glad that we took the time to stop in.

Google
Love the small cozy place, food is delicious and fresh, even the strawberry is home made. Our service Erin was very kind and friendly, even read my husband mind about breakfast options. We had breakfast for the two days we stayed at Bar Harbor. You won’t be disappointed; I definitely recommended!

Google
Really great food. I had the Camp skillet with toast which was perfect. the strawberry rhubarb jam was fantastic. The pancake was ok but the blueberry sauce was good. Would definitely go back !

Google
Cute spot with a few quirks Stopped in for breakfast and was charmed by the cozy atmosphere—big windows let in lots of light, though the space does feel a bit cramped. The croissant sandwich was the highlight: flaky, buttery, and packed with a thick slice of ham. Unfortunately, the gluten-free pancakes missed the mark—mushy texture and not much flavor. Coffee was your standard diner brew, nothing to write home about. Service started off a bit cold but warmed up over time. Overall, worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving a solid sandwich in a cheerful setting.

Google
We loved it here! The food was so good and the presentation was extra nice. We got in pretty quickly and our food was to us pretty fast as well. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a diner-like breakfast stop.

Yelp
I have visited Bar Harbor a bunch of times but this last trip was my first time at Jeannie's! It will not be my last though. There is a waitlist and I highly recommend getting on it. This place gets packed by 8 am. The service is great, everyone is welcoming and the inside is very homey. I got the lobster Benedict, my first of its kind too! It was delicious with herb biscuits underneath. Very flavorful and a hearty serving of lobster. My sisters got the pancakes and Mexican burrito and were happy with their selections as well.

Yelp
Overview: Jeannie's Great Maine Breakfast was very good. The Junior Breakfast, which included eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes, and bread, hit the spot after hiking a couple miles in Acadia. Jeannie's also had many gluten free options, like pancakes and English muffins, as well as some vegan and dairy free items, too. However, before we were seated, there was a very long wait for a table. Reason for the 4 Stars: Before we were able to enjoy this great food, however, we had to spend 30 minutes waiting for a table to be open for our group of 5. Thankfully, we were able to walk around the unique tourist shops in Bar Harbor during the wait, which honestly worked out good. I do think the wait was worth it in the end for the yummy food, quick service, and cozy atmosphere that came after. My recommendations: First, TRY THE PANCAKES! They are SO good! Even though I really enjoyed my variety of items, the pancakes are heavenly. Even if it's just once, try them! Second, don't sit outside in the morning! It gets very cold in Bar Harbor, especially since it is by the ocean. However, if you do end up getting a seat outside, they provide blankets. Finally, plan to walk around! Bar Harbor is a great area and is VERY touristy. Jeannie's breakfast is perfect to fuel you before walking around in the cute town. In summary: Jeannie's is great little breakfast spot that offers gluten free, dairy free, and vegan food. It is in a nice location and is the perfect fuel before exploring Bar Harbor. It does pick up a bunch of hungry people, and can have a pretty long waitlist, however, it is worth it for the pancake! I recommend to anyone visiting Bar Harbor who doesn't mind waiting before they get seated.

Yelp
We had breakfast this morning. We shared a Lumberjack Breakfast. 1 Entree and 2 Orange Juices came to a total of $28. That feels high to me. The food was ok but nothing out of the ordinary. There are probably other places that have better value. Jordan's down the street seems to do monster numbers.

Scott M.

Yelp
Worst corned beef hash ever! Think imitation bacon bits deep fried in burnt oil. The waitress said it's "homestyle, we like it crispy." I like little crispy ends to some meats too, but this hash was burnt. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because they only charged me for the half of the plate I ate (eggs and toast). The woman at the front counter (owner or manager, perhaps?) gave me some wicked side eye as I left without saying a word. That stare along with the statement in their menu that the restaurant is cell phone free, exudes pretentiousness. I do not recommend.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! The strawberry & rhubarb jam is great! My friend and I both bought jars to take home.

Yelp
Jeannie's Great Maine Breakfast is located in downtown Bar Harbor, Maine. Open early for sunrise viewers. We were roaming Bar Harbor Town and had to leave for NJ before 1 PM. We have not had anything since morning so decided to have breakfast. it was 11 AM and not sure what option we had - we explored a few restaurants but breakfast time had passed. but glad we found this Maine breakfast - breakfast time was till 1 PM (but check out the timing -as everything in this town is seasonal) We got the table and ordered Blueberry pancakes (3 pieces) - Garden Omelet Western Omelet given all the eggs, meats, and dairy in a traditional American breakfast. omelets were quite good with wheat slices of bread... side items are at the table. Service was excellent and friendly, prices were reasonable, and the waiting time was short too. The restroom was clear and also the changing station for babies with all the stuff - good thing...(not something I see in restrooms frequently) As they said their breakfast was BEARYLICIOUS...

Yelp
Classic small town breakfast! Loved the blueberry pancakes and bacon. Very friendly staff!

Yelp
Perfect breakfast spot for visitors in Bar Harbor. We ate at Jeannie's before our hike to Acadia to fuel up. One of the things I loved was that I was able to put my name down on their online waitlist before arriving (it gave you a relatively active estimated wait time, too!). It was helpful as we knew that coming during the busier summer season we did not want to wait too long to sit down and eat. Once we sat down, service was quick! Menu was no frills, very straight forward. We were told the blueberry pancakes were a must - and just like our recommendation, you must try! Other breakfast items were also great & there was truly so much to choose from. The restaurant is located near the village center so there is plenty of street parking. If you find yourself waiting in line, there are plenty of shops nearby. Overall, would recommend to anyone getting ready to fuel up for the day!

Yelp
Best breakfast in Bar Harbor!! Great atmosphere, great food, and exceptional service! Would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Yelp
A great spot for breakfast when visiting Bar Harbor. I was here over the summer with my fiance and we had an excellent experience. I love the story of how his place is owned by a couple that decided to quit their office jobs to start this place. Their bread was delicious and so was the omelette I ordered. They were also the #2 blueberry pancake of the trip (we tried a lot of places). They just barelly missed the #1 spot.

Yelp
Busy on a holiday weekend. Delicious hearty breakfast fare. When in Maine have a lobster omelette. Bill had a huge breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, salsa , peppers black beans and tomatoes. Such nice people.

Yelp
My French toast was fantastic! The home fries were great. Our waitress was so sweet and friendly, like family! I didn't love the way the hostess treated us, but that's okay because the food and our waitress made up for it !

Yelp
Cute spot in downtown Bar Harbor. We put our name in and was told that it would be a 20 min wait. When ordering a cup of coffee, they brought a whole pot to the table! Too bad that I didn't have a to go cup on me! Blueberry pancakes were amazing. Fresh Maine blueberries!! I had the lumberjack, which also came with eggs, a choice of meat, and home fries. The sausage was ok. Try the homemade jelly on the table. Super tasty! Friendly staff.
google avatar

Eleni J.

Yelp
Solid breakfast and brunch place. The bread and muffins have great texture. Is there anything super special? I can't say for sure. I think it's a place worth trying if you're nearby and need to have breakfast, but I probably won't make a trip into town just for it. It's not anything mind-blowing. I find the breakfast at our hotel (Regency) is pretty good.
google avatar

Yelp
You know it's good when there's a line out the door on an early weekday morning! Luckily we only had to wait 15 minutes for a table, but it's clear why. This little restaurant has a hometown charm to it. Whether it's the service, the decor, or even the food, everything here is done well. Because I was craving something more savory, I decided to order a Mexican Burrito - which consisted of egg, peppers, cheese, and pico de gallo and came with sides of sour cream and home fries. The dish was very tasty and filling, and I had a taste of the blueberry pancakes which someone in my party ordered, which were also delicious. If I had more time in Bar Harbor I'd definitely come back and try some other menu items!

Yelp
My last review was taken down. Extremely rude and unprofessional service. I used their electronic waitlist however did not announce to employee I was there. There waitlist said I was 10th in line and had a 25 minute wait, fair enough. Waitlist counted down 10, 9 ,8 etc than said I'm next. Went inside after waiting outside in cold weather and was told I was not next because I did not physically check in and must wait outside some more, after 5 more minutes rude man came out and offered us a table outside and than insulted me for being testy due to me simply asking how would I get notified my table was ready. I left. Spoke to as many people as I could about terrible customer service, was told by more than one person we did not miss anything that food portions were small and over priced.

Yelp
Very good place to eat for people with all types of dietary desires or needs. Very busy but small place, with waiting times that vary with the number of potential customers wanting to eat here. I waited an hour after being quoted an estimated 40 minutes, but it is worth it. Big menu with lots of choices from creative vegan, vegetarian, healthy to the standard American diet. The tofu burrito is excellent! Spiced just right, very tasty, huge portion, very healthy with tofu, veggie salsa and avocado. Out of this world excellent! Egg white omelet with vegetables also good but can't come close in taste to the tofu burrito. After all, hat can you do to improve the taste of egg whites? The Oatmeal walnut pancakes are very good as well and includes a hint of cinnamon. Tastes even better with the in-house made rhubarb compote/jam. The sides include a single slice of toast and home fries or fresh fruit instead of the home fries. The seating is adequate and cozy. The booth seating is on hard wood, no cushion so may feel uncomfortable to some. This is a clean, well kept place right in the downtown tourist section of Bar Harbor, ME with adequate metered parking. I highly recommend this establishment.

Yelp
We were there our first morning in Bar harbor. The wait was not long and the service was great and friendly. the food was good nothing exceptional but good and portions were ok as well. Overall it is a good place to grab breakfast, right in down town location and friendly service and outdoor seating as well. will def visit again.
google avatar

Yelp
We ordered takeout from Jeannie's while we were in town and it was great! We had the corned beef hash and the gluten free blueberry pancakes. There's a lot of gluten free and vegan options. We really enjoyed the food. My husband loved the strawberry rhubarb jam! Definitely a great place for breakfast!
google avatar

Tamara A.

Yelp
Yum, nice staff, clean, efficient with my time but no rush, nice location and space........

Sophia H.

Yelp
The food had such small portions and was overpriced. The hostess said it would be a 30 minute wait... we ended up having to wait an hour and the food was NOT worth the wait. The food was bland and I ordered my eggs hard and they came out over easy. The food also took a while to come out. I would Not recommend here, it's definitely not worth the wait.
google avatar

Kendra F.

Yelp
Food was top notch. We stopped here right when they opened after we saw the Sunrise on Cadillac Mountain. They were fast with service and we had no wait. The restaurant was a little small, but it was super cozy. Get the blueberry muffin grilled. It was incredible.

Yelp
We loved Jeannie's so much that we ate there twice on our short trip to Bar Harbor. We're from the south, so we were interested to see how the breakfast here compared to the large, buttery breakfasts we're used to. The food was delicious. I can't have dairy so I was excited to see they had BOTH dairy-free and vegan options on the menu. I had the gluten- and dairy-free pancakes and I would genuinely never have guessed that they were free of gluten or dairy. Got them again the second time we visited. The service was excellent both times, with the waitresses being super kind, fast, and helpful. The outdoor seating area is super cute (when it's not too cold to be out there) and was a great quiet place to eat while watching shoppers pass by. Highly recommend Jeannie's when you're in Bar Harbor. We'll absolutely be back next time.
google avatar

Lorri D.

Yelp
Worth the wait (30 min with a text notification) Jeannie's is located on the corner with a cute courtyard where you can sit outside and eat if you choose - or if you have a furry friend. We ordered the great Maine breakfast and the corned beef hash and I could t help but also get a blueberry biscuit (sliced and fried). Everything was excellent, the food, the service and the atmosphere. Best breakfast we had while in Maine!
google avatar

Priscila Camila S.

Yelp
Very fresh and flavorful food. Great place to start the day with a nice breakfast. We went very early (7:00 am) to avoid waiting. Definitely coming back. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Breakfast in Bar Harbor this morning. Sorry no pics! i had French toast and juice. Brett had chunky monkey pancakes!! Great food. Our server was amazing. Cute little place. Not a ton of seating but there is patio seating!! Had a bit of a wait, but you can never go wrong eating local. Lovely spot!! Oh and there are vegan options!! Definitely worth the stop!!!
google avatar

Ravi C.

Yelp
Went here 2 days in row while in Bar Harbor. Cool place that makes you feel like you are in a Maine breakfast house in the wilderness. Super professional wait staff. Excellent with allergens. Good food - vegan options. Will be back!
google avatar

Krista R.

Yelp
Great service and location. Our food was overall just OK. The homemade hash was dry and we really missed the usual red peppers and onions mixed in that most diners include. My blueberry pancake had great texture but was a bit bland -- it would have benefited from some acidity via lemon juice or buttermilk mixed into the batter. The homemade white bread was decent. Home fries and chicken sausage were OK. I appreciate the sampling of rhubarb strawberry jam/preserves on the table, and the fact the server leaves you with a pot of coffee so you can self serve. The best things we ate were the three berry muffins. Homemade and very soft and delicious. This wouldn't be a spot I recommend to others but it's certainly a quick fix when you're in the area and need breakfast fast.
google avatar

Courtney K.

Yelp
Bottom Line: Super friendly staff serving a diner style breakfast in a very casual atmosphere. Jeannie's Great Maine Breakfast is one of the most popular breakfast spots in Bar Harbor so my husband and I went to check it out after an early morning of hiking. We got there about 8:30am on a Sunday morning in the shoulder season and waited about 20 minutes for a table for two which seemed very reasonable. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the Frenchman Bay Benedict which was spinach, tomatoes, avocado and poached eggs on an herb biscuit. The benedict was supposed to be smothered with a homemade mornay cheese sauce but I would say it was lightly sauced and I definitely wanted more. My husband ordered The Lumberjack which was eggs, bacon and homefries and he upgraded his buttermilk pancakes to blueberry pancakes which we shared. I was excited to try a blueberry pancake and was surprised how chewy it was. The best part of the meal was Jeannie's homemade strawberry rhubarb jam. It was so good!
google avatar

Jimmy B.

Yelp
When I got here there was about a 15 minute wait, once we got seated I immediately noticed it was a little warm inside. Our waitress was very nice the whole time, from when she took our orders, to giving us the check. The orange juice was decent but it was a little bitter. For my main meal I got the Mile's Croissant Sandwich, and let me tell you it was very good. The cheese was very nice and melty, the egg was perfectly cooked, and the croissant was nice and crunchy and flaky. The last thing I got was the blueberry muffin. (Get it grilled! Makes it so much better!) it was very good, nice and warm and had lots of blueberries. Very good restaurant would highly recommend.

Yelp
Loved the breakfast. My wife and I ate there a few days ago. It's was very good and service was good to. They had 5 stars until I stopped in for a cup of coffee to go and was extremely. disappointed. They charged me $4 for a really bad 8 oz cup of coffee.
google avatar

Stuart K.

Yelp
This was our second time here. The pancakes are second to none. Home fries are terrific as well as everything else we have tried here. A can't miss place. Great staff and very reasonably priced especially for this tourist area.
google avatar

Emma G.

Yelp
Went to Jeannie's for breakfast today and really enjoyed the upbeat environment so early in the morning. The gentleman at the front cash register that seated us was friendly and kind. We ordered the Lola Cakes special (thoughtfully named after I believe the owner's granddaughter) and they were absolutely delicious. The raspberry sauce was insane. Two people in the group ordered the blueberry pancakes which were also just amazing. The blueberries and the blueberry flavor was impeccable. I ordered the corned beef hash, which was great, just a bit dry for my preference and lacking in flavor. I think if we were to stop by Maine and this place again, I'd get something else off of their menu. I think the only other thing I'd note is that the coffee isn't all that great and to get some water or another drink instead! Overall, this was a must-stop for us on our trip to Maine and I'm glad it was. Definitely check out if in Bar Harbor.
google avatar

Briana D.

Yelp
As soon as they asked us what kind of bread we wanted for the french toast, I knew it wasn't going to be good! French toast should always be prepared with thick bread and they used regular sliced bread. Very disappointed considering the great reviews!
google avatar

Stacy R.

Yelp
Ordered the Lobster Benedict. The eggs were perfect. The herb biscuits were a nice change from the usual but they were really small. Lobster portion was tiny. The meat did not taste fresh and had the texture of previously frozen.... at least once, maybe more. This was pretty expensive for what was served. Staff seems burned out, not surprising this time of year. Disappointed
google avatar

Winny L.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast one morning while in Bar Harbor. This is one of the most popular places accordingly to reviews so we decided try it. There is no reservations and we had to put our names on the wait list - 45 minutes for a table for 4. Walked around a bit and came back to ensure we didn't miss being called. Overall, service and food were good. They have good variety to choose from on the menu. Decided to stick with the classic - scrambled eggs with bacon, hashbrowns and toast, blueberry and regular pancakes. They have an assortment of tea to chose from for those who don't coffee. They also sell souvenirs- mugs, caps, etc...just ask if you want to purchase.

Yelp
Very busy small place so get there early. Hostess was rude, an older lady, seemed like she didn't want to be there and acted as if she was the key to the restaurant. My food was average, omelet was overcooked. The restaurant was very clean.
google avatar

Mackenzie V.

Yelp
Such yummy food it was very satisfying! Even though its very popular we only had to wait 20 min to be seated in a cute outdoor courtyard.10/10

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful breakfast! My husband and I both loved what we got and he service is fast and our server was so nice! Definitely recommend stopping in for breakfast!

Yelp
We came after watching the sunrise at the Cadillac Mountain. Our waiter was friendly and prompt. My make-your-own omelet was good (plain with veggies as I wanted) but the home fries were a bit dry. My husband mentioned that his shrimp omelet could use a bit more flavor. My daughter's cinnamon pancakes were so delicious that I had to ask for a second sharing! Also loved their signage (see pic attached)!
google avatar

Yelp
Long wait (45 min) on an October Friday. Since reviews were great, we waited. Took about 10 min to get coffee, which was pretty weak. They do leave the pot. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs which comes with potatoes and toast. Came with possibly a small handful of potatoes same as my husbands omelette meal. My toast was cold as was his when he got it. My hash was quite possibly the driest I have ever eaten. I had to thoroughly mix my scrambled eggs and hot sauce in order to eat it. Service was fine.

Yelp
Went here for breakfast super hungry after the precipice hike this morning (10/09/21). The food and service was all 5 stars! Food: we got the lobster Benedict and stuffed pancakes. The eggs were cooked perfectly and seasoning was great. The pancakes were a little dense but I think they were going for that - never felt chewy or heavy. Their strawberry rhubarb sauce/jam is BOMB!!! We bought two bottles of it! Service: was amazing. We were stuck in traffic on our way back from the hike and made it 45 mins later than our waitlist time. We were still seated right away and the staff did not at all make us feel guilty for being so late. After eating at a few other places in bar harbor this week, Jennie's service os definitely one of the better ones. Would I come back? Absolutely!
google avatar

Yang C.

Yelp
Came here after our early morning sunrise! This was among a few places that opened up so early. We got here right before they opened up. I got to try the lobster omelette. Very nice and tasty. My husband got the healthy oatmeal and walnut pancakes. It was really thick with the oatmeal texture. Somehow, it didn't taste very sweet even with lots of syrup. Anyway, a good place to start the day!

Yelp
Great Maine Breakfast always has a line that stretches out of the door right before it even opens at 6 in the morning, and it's easy to see why given the pricing and value of all its food. First off, Great Maine Breakfast will leave you satisfied, which is more than you could ever ask for given the measly portion sizes of many of the other restaurants in Bar Harbor. Not only are the portions at Jeannie's filling, but the pricing is also fantastic! You will absolutely get your money's worth. As for the food itself, everything tasted like what you would expect from a comfy, homey breakfast diner. The beef from the pot roast delight was wonderfully tender and full of great flavor. Eggs and potatoes were, of course, great sides cooked to just how I like it. The biscuits and gravy is absolutely a must-get item. The chefs were more than generous with the sausage gravy, which was creamy and savory. Finally, the Cadillac mountain was quite the meal. Thick slice of ham, pretty large pancake, beans, sausage, toast, and eggs! What more could you ask? They certainly offered more than enough at an incredible price that simply can't be beat. Overall, Great Maine Breakfast has to be the best restaurant in Bar Harbor. That said, good luck getting a seat, because the place will most certainly be packed given how incredible it is.

Yelp
This is a place to visit for the food, not the service. The coffee was a bit too strong for me but my hubby loved it. We even grabbed a blueberry coffee to go. We ordered a side of bacon and eggs which came out as an entire meal because the server was not listening to what was being requested. We also ordered an omelette with 5 of our own chosen ingredients. The omelet was delivered with only 4 of the 5. Once we could flag down our server she was kind enough to bring us a side of the missing ingredient so we could assemble it ourselves. We did ask for boxes to take home leftovers. We received one small box so we wrapped part of the leftovers using the napkin of the clean silverware at the nearby table. Overall, the food was good, but honestly, we don't want to feel like we are the frustration in someone else's day and that's how it felt.

Yelp
I recently visited with my family and this was one of the more disappointing stops on the trip. Upon arriving there was already a wait despite it being early. The estimated wait time was accurate and we were able to walk around town a bit while we waited to be called. After being seated our waitress came to take our order. We have a 3 year old son who is just learning how to talk and we have been encouraging him to order for himself at restaurants. The waitress rudely cut him off and told us she would need us to order for him, suggesting that she was too busy for the 20 seconds it would have taken for him to order for himself. We were a bit shocked by this, especially in a place that so clearly caters nearly exclusively to visitors. We ended up ordering pancakes among other things. For a pancake house the pancakes were pretty uninspired. They were flat and chewy, not soft or fluffy. I can't imagine this is the case but they tasted like they were just made out of a store bought, just add water, mix. We did appreciate the No Cell Phones policy, which we did actually see enforced and besides the first impression with the waitress the staff was generally friendly.

Yelp
I cannot say enough of about this place. We drove into Bar Harbor from Portland and they offered a waitlist online--when we were about 45 minutes out the way was 35-50 minutes so we put our names in. After checking in, we only waiting about 10 minutes. We were sat outside and it was the most perfect weather for it. Yay for a puppy friendly patio as well for us dog lovers. Holy VEGAN heaven. Shoutout to this place for the options alone. It made it incredibly challenging to pick just one option (so I added to my meal). The vegan burrito is soooooo good and has such great flavor in the tofu. The pancakes (Walnut oatmeal) are like no other. I've made vegan pancakes at home and this just stomped all over mine. Husband had the lumberjack and loved the grilled muffin option. Who would have thought to grill a muffin?? He made his pancakes blueberry and we weren't expecting them to be so gigantic (my happy about it nonetheless). If you're only in the area for breakfast--go here. That alone was worth the three hour drive from Portland and really kept us full all through our next venture to Acadia.

Yelp
As the name states, only breakfast, but it's an amazing breakfast! Frenchman Bay Benedict was perfect. Oatmeal was delicious. And all service was perfect. Be sure to go online to put your name on the waitlist.

Yelp
By far best gluten free pancakes I have ever had! The staff is very welcoming and a pleasure to speak with about the town and history of Bar Harbor. A wonderful community here!

Yelp
The food here was delicious. Fluffy pancakes with a great blueberry sauce/compote on top was perfect. The Frenchman's Bay Benedict was equally really good. Their strawberry-rhubarb spread was another really tasty treat. The kitchen pumped out our order super fast. I have only one issue and was trying to be ok with it but it really bothered me. When I walked in after our wait time i was annoyed at having to wait longer after waiting almost an hour and wet from the rain etc but the owner was super cool and kind to me and I got over myself and stood back in the rain and we were seated shortly and all was good. The owner offered suggestions for shops and we were about to eat. Out server, the only guy waiting tables as far as I could see, was...,fast...I'll give him that. Not sure what the deal was but he wasn't warm and friendly we felt like an intrusion with him immediately. When he came back with drinks I thought the waters were gonna spill he dropped them so hard. Things happen. I don't have high expectations but this wasn't just a server that was busy. They were slowing down and it just wasn't what I'd expect. When he asked if we were ready (we had 2 kids) he sounded like he was rushing us. When my son asked what bread they have he didn't mention their HM oatmeal bread. So I politely asked him- are you out of the oatmeal bread? He said No, why?!? When I pointed out he didn't mention it he said yeah the whole wheat bread - then literally said I don't. Have time to keep explain to customers all the time what it is and they don't understand it's just easier to say wheat bread. It's the same. Oh. Really?! Then I asked if the sausage was links or Patties and if any of their meats were local or house made by chance. He looked at me as if I had a second head. Maybe it was an off day for him, idk but when you pay your hard earned money for food you deserve a little more than what he has to offer today IMO.
