I came here with my boyfriend for a date. The interior is nice and features a variety of Haitian artwork, which is a plus. We came in on a Saturday night when there were very few people, but there seemed to be only two waitresses to serve.
I'm not sure what was going on in the kitchen , or if they were really that shortstaffed but it took about 30 minutes to bring out the appetizers and then another 40 minutes for the entree, with a portion of the meal not what we had selected at all. So that had to go back to the kitchen for the right order.
Our drinks were very good, and the food was superb, especially the fried plantain.
But then it took another hour to have our plates cleared, and the bill to be given.
Afterwards, I'm not sure if they turn the restaurant into a club normally or they just happened to host a party, but I was told that since I had dined there and was already inside that I would not have to pay should I decide to stay. I said considered it and said ok. Mind you we were the last diners there from before they had started to convert the other side into a party. Then just to put my leftovers in the car in the parking lot, almost cost me a whole $10 plus my head just to get back inside, when I found out that I was locked out. Going to the front the host (I guess) at the door was giving me so much attitude, when I told him that he knows he had seen me dining there and I was told that I would not have to pay. The man who gave me this information saw me at the door, and when I signaled to him, he pretended that he didn't know me! But after much persistence I got back inside. I wanted to leave right then but our server still had not come back for the check! So while waiting for her, I calmed down and chose to stay for one dance, and after the server finally came back with my boyfriend's card, we crossed over to the front. The dance floor was basically a closet, and then that same incorrigible man, had the nerve to try to get us to pay?! For a closet homie?! Nah! So we left. Horrible, despicable, trashy service. The food is great, but that's about it.
