"Wyclef Jean wasn’t lying when he said Jeano’s in Brockton has some of the best Haitian food around Boston. Order the Haitian poul fri, which doesn’t rely on a crunchy coating. Instead, the chicken gets marinated in epis, and the skin is removed before frying, allowing the tender meat to take center stage. The restaurant also has an expansive seafood menu where you can dig into crispy shrimp, stewed octopus, broiled scrod, and whole-baked snapper. On occasion, they’ll host events like Gouyad N’ Chill, so you can catch a vibe with live music and do some dancing, too." - Ashia Aubourg

Have been going to Jeano’s for years since i was a little girl. The owners have always been the best and sweetest people. They go above and beyond to make sure people are happy with their dining experience. Great food great prices amazing owners.

It’s very unfortunate to have a negative experience the day after eating good food. We ordered two plates yesterday that were delicious. Wanted to try something different today, so I called Jeano’s up. The first issue, I had to call 7 times to get through. Okay fine - it’s Sunday so they are probably busy. A man finally answered after the phone rung 6-7 times. I asked what kind of rice was available today. That was answered. I asked what kind of sauce-poi was available. “Oh my God by the time I go through the entire menu, we’ll be closed”. I happened to be Haitian and know the different types that are made. I was told to check out their menu online. I did check online, the website does not indicate what types of sauce poi is available. Is it the same kind daily? Is there a different sauce poi of the day daily? That’s legitimate question. After that experience, I would be crazy to order food and eat it without fear of something malicious being done to it. I asked what sauce poi was available and not the entire menu. I knew what meat I wanted. Do better next time!

I been going to Jeano's Restaurant for quite some time now and they're one of my favorite restaurants in the city of Brockton! I never a bad experience with them. The last thing I got from them was Cabrit (goat) and rice with beans and plantains. The rice with beans was large in portion and it was made to perfection. Also, the goat meat was on point! - Juvi 508 (YouTuber)

Food was amazing just amazing I ordered about 4 times, vegetarian stew the pork and fried chicken wow. Good price for the food about 18 bucks, I had 1 major problem the wait time man just a long wait. I ordered 1 large plate and had a 45 minute wait that’s crazy. 2nd time I ordered I called ahead of time and went shopping 40 mins later came to get food still had a 12 min wait do not order on lunch break. Why cant Haitian places be like Jamaican food spots just have the food ready to go in and out 2 mins

Mchilandy Noel

Google
First time order from this spot the pickles was decent and the griot was ok . This will probably be my last , for starters there was a hair in my girls hair ,the red sauce is 90% oil and honestly every time I try to implement the sauce I just tasted oil.

Was visiting the area and they came highly recommended The food was so good and authentic 😋 Worth every penny All and every single food in their menu is always available Will come again 😉😎 Keep up the good work!

2nd time there, they managed to make it worst than the first time. It is impossible to support Black/Haitian businesses when the staff doesn’t care about the customers like that. We ordered on phone, they told us it will be ready in 20 minutes. We showed up in 20 minutes, gave our name and waited 15 extra minutes. At some point we asked what was going up, a rude lady (the one supposed to be behind the bar to welcome customers) came out from the kitchen and simply said “It will be ready in 20 minutes”, waved her hand at our face and went back to the kitchen, without letting us opportunity to raise some concerns and feedbacks. As for the phone, I heard it ringing 4 different times without anyone picking it up (an exemple in the video). Plus, they forgot something in our orders. And the small fork for a big plate of rice...bad idea. It is sad because their food is delicious but I will most likely not come back over there again.

Google
Food was good… when we got it. Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve witnessed. There’s always a running joke about Caribbean restaurants offering terrible customer service.. but no seriously this was bad. We were told not to order certain things because it was “impossible”, service seemed disorganized, and we weren’t even given plates/silverware to eat with. The music would shut off and it made me feel very unwelcome as well. It was all a mess. My in-law said he saw a rat running by too…. I don’t wanna believe it!!

Yelp
A few weeks ago, I ordered the snapper meal with rice and peas and plantain. The plate was packed with food! The rice and peas were perfectly cooked and the fish was well seasoned and fried. The only complaint I have is about how long it took the food to get ready. It took a while for my food to be picked up that the driver called me to apologize.

Enriquillo G.

Yelp
I ordered over the phone and the owner told me 25 minutes for my order to be ready. When I arrived to the restaurant he was on the phone and i was in the restaurant for over 10 minutes talking to somebody and when I told him my name for he told me that my order was not ready. I was chatting with another customer and the same situation as me. He was rude and unprofessional, unapologetic. When the other customer finally received his order he told him that he need the green stuff. Referring to the money and the client told him That his brother paid over the phone with a credit card, to my surprise he went to the kitchen and he returned when the credit card information that he wrote in a brown bag and the young lady at the cashier told him (the owner) that they don't take credit card over r he phone. Bad customer service all the way

Yelp
This place is awful with time. I don't know how they are still in business!? Im a business owner and it's baffling that places like this exist. I come to Brockton every 6-8wks from Maine and we do like the food. I call them at noon when they say they open and they never answer the phone until 12:30. They always have a bad attitude and never friendly. I always order multiple entrees to take home for my family and they always make it seem like I'm ordering too much. What kind of business doesn't want you to order!? It's borderline abuse dealing with this restaurant but we do like Haitian food and we don't have one in Maine. I wish I can find a place similar and closer. I'll take suggestions if anyone has any. This place don't deserve our business.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
They are so rude and prideful. Even if you call to order ahead of time they still make you wait like 40 to 50 minutes. They give u small portions of food and charge a arm and a leg for this shit

Joe B.

Yelp
My girlfriend loves the food but they are slowwwwwww took 1hr and 30mins to get a plate .. Everytime ... Everytime !!!!!I hate going here for her but she loves the food

Julie C.

Yelp
1)Wait time is crazy! You could order the food and when you get there is when they begin! 2) Very inconsistent with the plates, I order Fritay griot and it's different every time either a million plantains 4 meats(yes it's happened) no potatoes or extra potatoes no marinade... To top it off the customer service is what made me decide not to go here any more. I gave them 3 shots and the food isn't horrible, it's just inconsistent served with very bad customer service... Luckily I found Delicious... wwwaaayyy better and professional all around!

Jason B.

Yelp
Extremely poor customer service. Very poor communication. They gave the delivery driver the wrong order. When I went to pick up the correct order there was no customer assistance. They made me wait around for about 15 minutes to receive my order. The employees was very rude and careless. And to top it off once I got home with the order an item was still missing and the food was cold. When I called they hung up on me. I will never go there again.

Tee W.

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin...This place was suggested to me by a fellow foodie and boy I can't imagine why! This place was empty, like ghost town empty when I arrived. I called in my order 30mins prior and was excited to try some great Haitian food. I approached the counter and stood there for 5mins before a woman came from the back, looked me dead in the eyes then proceeded into their dining area to what looked like wiping tables and moving chairs. How RUDE!!! I waited patiently for another minute before I shouted HELLOOO, at which the same woman came from the dining area and said I'll be right with you...uuhhh ok?!?! When she returned to the counter I stated that I have a pick up order for 2 plates (fried pork and fried chicken) she immediately rang me up then stated they're still working on it. I thought this was odd as the place was empty. I waited for another 15mins before asking her for the ETA of the food I now ordered 45mins ago. I waited in the restaurant for a total 35mins for a pick up order called in 30mins prior to my arrival, it took them 1hr 10mins to fry chicken and pork!!! I was livid not only because I was late for an appointment, but my daughter and I were now starving! The food was dry, fried way too hard and flavorless! The fried plantains were the only hit on both plates, threw most of the pork away...will never return here! They lost out big time as I eat out 2-3x a week. A few suggestions to the owner... your customers come first and should be greeted upon arrival, staff appropriately and start orders as they come in, and finally add some damn seasoning to your food!!!

Belle D.

Yelp
So the other day I bought oxtail from and this is what they gave me When I brought it back to them the lady asked me who picked up the food for me like whoever picked it up did something to the food so that tells you how bad that shit looks when I told her to taste it she said it does taste bad I was trynna ask her why the fuck was the oxtail green looking like there's mole in it she had no explaination and it tasted so sour and raw Shit was disgusting and the next day I was so sick I was throwing up all day I couldn't even stay at work. I dead ass threw up a bunch of green stuff

Maddie S.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great music. The servers were extremely friendly and patient. My family got fish, chicken, pork all delicious! Authentic Haitian food with huge servings. And great alcoholic drinks. Also great servings. Recommend this place everytime we go. Thank you Jeano's for the slice of Haiti we all need!

Marie M.

Yelp
The people that work there are very rude I hate the fact that they're treating their own kind of people like dogs . I called to place an order over the phone I asked the guy what good he has on the menu he interrupted me saying from now on when I'm calling this restaurant do not ask what food they have just place the order . Like what kind of stupidity is that ? People have to ask what food you have because not every restaurant has the food you recommended then he hang up the Danm phone on me . The customer service over there is not good at all and when you order your food they make you wait for a long time I hate this place worst ever

Charlene E.

Yelp
Jeano's sell pretty decent Haitian food and they give you quite sizable portions. Been here a few times to order takeout and I've never had a bad experience but I would say mediocre at best.

Green H.

Yelp
I was craving some Haitian food looks can be deceiving when I first walked in the place smell like piss the bathroom was nasty and there was no running hot water to wash my hands beware of this place it's disgusting the food is tasteless n overpriced took one bite n threw it out

Jessica V.

Yelp
The only reason I gave them 1 star is because even though their service sucks the food is really good. I have come to jeanos in the past and I'm always hesitate to come back here because no matter what time you order without fail it's always an additional 30-45 mins wait when you come to pick up. I will never understand how I order two plates at 8:27pm and Im still sitting waiting for my food at 9:55pm. I ordered through grub hub I received a text and an email from grub hub along with a phone call from the restaurant to confirm and they all stated the food would be ready between 9:05-9:15. I finally received my order at 10:10pm ... I lost my appetite

Natasha J.

Yelp
The food was good. Rice and beaned and legumes. Good served hot and fresh. Serving size was small for how much we paid. I would recommend for authentic Haitian food.

Ann Christelle D.

Yelp
They are so disrespectful... don't eat there. The food dont even taste good and the wait is shocking. The bathroom is disgusting smell like pee and no toilet paper and the place is really dead. I had the worst customer service ever. If you want to try Haitian food Suggest you go to Farah restaurant in Hyde park or Bon Appetite in Blue hill.

Moise P.

Yelp
If you love trying new food different from your own culture... Then this lovely restaurant with amazing staff is your next stop to visit ..... No joke haitian food is delicious, and yummy enough me talking about it you just have to try it yourself and tell me about it later

Jarhead A.

Yelp
Once again Caribbean resturant for the win!! Never disappoint on the level of service and disrespect. Not sure if the guy was the owner but I did hear someone call him Jeano. Well nonetheless a disrespectful fellow. Customer service is not something that's hard to give. Food was ordered waited well over 30mins (didn't complain) then he has the nerves to say he doesn't understand the language that Haitians speak at times. As if the way we communicated through this whole transaction was not proper? Like dude excuse me? This is a resturant not grammar school. Not to boast, I too am Haitian and I am about 100% sure that my background surpasses your capability. Moral of this review, if you can't hold a proper conversation that's relevant with your customer, then simple..... shut up!

Laci M.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in Brockton. Yes the food takes some time, plan for that. Well worth the wait every time I've eaten here.

J J.

Yelp
Despite the low ratings, I have to say the good is absolutely delicious! Freshly made, it is one of the better Haitian cuisine south of Boston than other places I've been. (What Tamboo lacks in authencity, it definitely rates high in service, IMHO) Seriously, can we have servers who actually know how and what to serve? The lackadaisical nature of servies seems lost on a culture that prides itself on presentation. It's a strange thing. But the food is amazing, having had the oxtails, rice and beans, and the "Fri-ty" appetizer plate. I enjoyed every bit of it. I will return but only for take out.

Katherine G.

Yelp
Great Haitian/ Caribbean food find in Brockton! Food was delicious and wait wasn't too long. The only con was the server. The waitress could've been more attentive but the food made up for it. The owner was also very nice as well! Overall a great find for authentic Caribbean food

Helen G.

Yelp
The best Caribbean restaurant in the states. Lambi with black rice and Legume with rice and beans are my favorite. Everything is hot and fresh. The staff is friendly. Dining in or take out it's a great place to come to.

Noa L.

Yelp
I came here with my boyfriend for a date. The interior is nice and features a variety of Haitian artwork, which is a plus. We came in on a Saturday night when there were very few people, but there seemed to be only two waitresses to serve. I'm not sure what was going on in the kitchen , or if they were really that shortstaffed but it took about 30 minutes to bring out the appetizers and then another 40 minutes for the entree, with a portion of the meal not what we had selected at all. So that had to go back to the kitchen for the right order. Our drinks were very good, and the food was superb, especially the fried plantain. But then it took another hour to have our plates cleared, and the bill to be given. Afterwards, I'm not sure if they turn the restaurant into a club normally or they just happened to host a party, but I was told that since I had dined there and was already inside that I would not have to pay should I decide to stay. I said considered it and said ok. Mind you we were the last diners there from before they had started to convert the other side into a party. Then just to put my leftovers in the car in the parking lot, almost cost me a whole $10 plus my head just to get back inside, when I found out that I was locked out. Going to the front the host (I guess) at the door was giving me so much attitude, when I told him that he knows he had seen me dining there and I was told that I would not have to pay. The man who gave me this information saw me at the door, and when I signaled to him, he pretended that he didn't know me! But after much persistence I got back inside. I wanted to leave right then but our server still had not come back for the check! So while waiting for her, I calmed down and chose to stay for one dance, and after the server finally came back with my boyfriend's card, we crossed over to the front. The dance floor was basically a closet, and then that same incorrigible man, had the nerve to try to get us to pay?! For a closet homie?! Nah! So we left. Horrible, despicable, trashy service. The food is great, but that's about it.

Stan P.

Yelp
This is by far the best Haitian restaurant I've been to, staff was friendly which is very rare at any Haitian restaurant and the place was Clean too! So great atmosphere. The food is good, the only problem I had was that the bannann and the griot I ordered were a little too crispy/dry. I did let the staff know about it, I'll definitely go back and if the food is better I'll rate it a 5 star.

Zachary J.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. I came from TN and I love Haitian food so I had a friend take me there and the experience was just horrible. From the cashier rushing me to order as I asked the person I was with what she wanted. The customer service here is definitely not of quality. They are so brute when they talk to you... the food is not even good, food was cold and not fresh. Everything about this place says stay away, the price is ok but now I see why(you get what you pay for). The place is of decent ambiance but that's about all so my one star reflects that.

Kenny D.

Yelp
food is good and the workers was very friendly. also let me say this to folks of african dna stop holding our people to standards you do not hold Asian and Europeans too... i have seen some you treated like sht on youtube at the cheese cake factories, fancy steak houses, and asian nail shops/beauty stores but yet you give them 1.5 trillion a year but let you have one bad experiences at place owned by folks with your dna you ready to bad mouth them

M E.

Yelp
I have been getting food from this restaurant for at least two years and I have decided to no longer give this business my hard earned dollar. While the food here is very good, I can't continue to overlook the fact that they have absolutely no regard for time! 90% of the time that I ordered from this restaurant, it takes double the time that they promise for your food to be prepared! Today I called my order in and they gave me a pick up time of 20 to 25 minutes. An hour and 20 minutes later, not only had they not prepared my meal, but they still got my order wrong! Further, the customer service is beyond poor! They are so prideful that they can't even admit when they are wrong! The owner Jeano has on one occasion stated that because my wait was so long that he would grant me a rice on the house when I visit again. Upon my following visit, he had amnesia! I by no means am looking for anyone's hand out! However, the service is just unacceptable! Customers, despite their loyalty, are nothing but a dollar to them! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT!

Breanna T.

Yelp
Very friendly staff!! I'm a vegetarian and they are very good about changing up dishes so that I can have them with no meat. The food is very good here and the drinks are good as well. I would recommend the zombie!!!

Tina O.

Yelp
A little bit of a wait for food, but otherwise had a good experience. Unlike other reviewers, our waitress slash hostess was very pleasant and paid attention to us. the food it's is pretty good; we shared a plate of ribs with sauce and plantains and was super full.

Evette M.

Yelp
This is the worse Haitian restaurant in Brockton and I will never return again Here is why: My friend and I went here to order food after painting all day and was craving island food. When we arrived the owner "Jeano" was at the front desk on his phone, never acknowledging our presence until my friend asked him about the " fried snapper dinner " while Jeano continued to glance at his phone he told my friend that the snapper would cost 12-28 dollars. We both said what the hell does that mean? He said he had all type of sizes and he wouldn't know the price until he picked the fish. So my friend said give me the $12 fish. Jeano then said he couldn't ensure that he can pull the 12$ fish since he had so many fish in the fridge. So I got involved and told him that what he just said didn't make sense. I told Jeano if the fish is "Market price" than he should have a set price for the day. You can't cook the fish then say it cost $25 dollars after the fact; Mind you he is still looking at his phone never giving his NEW FIRST TIME CUSTOMERS his full attention . I live in Canton and my friend lives in Sharon. We drove all the way to Brockton to be treated like Shit by this unprofessional business owner . Regardless to say we left and told all our friends not to visit this establishment . Not to mention the restaurant had a stinky smell from the carpet and a tacky menu sitting on a gum ball machine . My advice to Mr. Jeano's is to learn customer service skills and know your menu. You made an assumption about your 2 new customers, bad mistake - I'm a primary care doctor and my friend owns a very successful construction company ! Don't let the jeans with paint and work exterior fool you as you just lost major new business . We will NEVER return and we will make sure our colleagues know of our horrible experience too. If I could give negative stars that is what you deserve. Clean your restaurant, pull up that stinky carpet, open a window, and take customer service classes!!!

Marye S.

Yelp
Haven't ordered there in over 2 years because they take so long with the order. But went there today and food was horrible, the bean sauce was spoiled. Had to throw food out. Save your money and drive to Boston or go somewhere else. It was reported to them and they didn't seem to care.

Tatiana S.

Yelp
The best food I have ever had we will get 2 meals for 20$ and the food makes me crazy the wait is so worth it

Dee J.

Yelp
Throw the whole Jeanos away, thank goodness Flames is opening up across the street. Serious question, what hold does this restaurant have on the city....is there no other Haitian person that come forward to shut this place down? But, shame on me,I should have known better. Well, a few months ago, went there, as soon as I came in, the guy in the cap looks at me and goes in the kitchen, I placed a phone order, but after 7 mins of waiting and no one coming out I left. Today, same nonsense of unprofessionalism, ordered, they said 30 mins, i came in 40, was told my food was ready...so let's disappear again, chopping it up in the back.....soooooo down....shut it DOWN!!!!

Marc Evens G.

Yelp
What can I say Want some good food not a bad place to start Very busy so call ahead

Kassandra P.

Yelp
I've been going to this place consistently for awhile now .. even with another opening of a new restaurant ... today was the final straw after multiple times of missing things, long wait, running out of food ... I've always had a problem with the service but I never let it really get to me until today .. called in for a pick up oxtail with rice and beans and extra plantains with picklee .. didn't get the extra plantains & had to go back ... the oxtail is completely inedible my fork won't even puncture the meat .. I asked if you had oxtail and if it wasn't ready , I shouldn't have been served it ... I wasted $15 & that's honestly a lot for one plate of food .. I'm done with this place

Ali M.

Yelp
This place has the absolute worst customer service the owner is horrible and gives away your food he claims there is a 1 hour policy but people have waited more than two hours for their food the staff is also under pressure and very unprofessional! That place smells and is dusty as hell!

Mari C.

Yelp
Live in Everett! There are at least Two Haitian restaurants here and one in Somerville, but Jeanos is totally worth the drive because it's Delicious!! I totally recommend people to go try it! Can't leave without the sauce!!

Tania Kitty C.

Yelp
A very good Haitian restaurant in MA. Food is very good and great. I love it. It brings me back to Haiti. I don't mind driving miles from Taunton to there just to get those delicious meals. And dining in is great, them drinks are marvelous. I 100% recommend there. You won't regret.

Pierre L.

Yelp
The food is good, most people wouldn't deny that . The service is beyond lackluster. The individuals who pick up the phone acts as though you are bothering them. They rush you off the phone and when they repeat the order back to you its all wrong. Haitians generally don't complain enough and simply settle and this is a classic example of that result.

Alexandra B.

Yelp
Best Haitian cuisine! Every time I come home this is where I end up. Try the goat in sauce!

Shanie T.

Yelp
I would order the food over the phone , it takes FOREVER to be ready 45 minutes -1hour. The service is absolutely terrible. You can be standing at the counter for 10 minutes before someone comes out to ask what you ordered. Butttttt, this is the best Haitian food in this area ... (Boston,Brockton, ect.) the white rice, bean sauce , gryo, fried shrimp and pickliz are delicious. I can look past the service , because of the quality of the food !

Ronna A.

Yelp
Today I got the worst service I have ever got from the owner of Jeano's I called thinking my order would be ready when I got there. They told me it would take 25 minutes and when I got there my order wasn't even ready. Other people were waiting for over an hr for their food. My food finally came out and the owner left the counter where you pay for your food to go talk to his friends and when I told him I was ready he says to me don't you see my talking to my friends.I was in shock!! Then he came to the counter and continued to give me attitude and said to me you could of waited. I was with my two month old daughter so I just wanted to get my food and go home. He started yelling at me and said okay now I'm getting mad and storms off into the back to confirm with the cook what he gave me after the fact of me telling him what I ordered for the 10th time. I paid for my food and as I'm walking out he yells at me and says fuck your mother, I was so surprised. I will never go to Jeano's again and after seeing this review I'm not sure if some of you will either.

Leila C.

Yelp
Where do I even begin ! This place sucks ass !! No bull!! Like there rude they don't take customer seriously we waited legit 45 almost an hour !!! Attitude left and right and they charge u for dinning in like wtf ! And not only that food legit sucks !! There nothing on the fucking plate ! Customer service blows !! And telling my bro oh u tip for service like first u don't tell people how to tip you it's a choice ! Second most nice places I've been never waits an hour to device food crappy food at that honestly! Awful!!

Valenz I.

Yelp
Worst Haitian restaurant around! Just read the reviews. All one stars. The food is not good. The people who work there are rude and ignorant. They have no customer service skills at all. The place is dirty and on top of all that you have to wait over an hour for crap food. You're better off going to Tamboo or Table 22. The food is better and the people working there are professional. There is even a new Haitian restaurant on Belmont st. Try them before you go to this disgusting little restaurant.

Big H.

Yelp
Aww the food is horrible bad bad customer service poor management wait staff is horrible just a miserable place to be 1 example I place my order 1hr in advance still had wait 20 min could not find my order they suck

Nadia N.

Yelp
The customer service at this place is horrible, its frustrating to be told your food will be ready at a specific time but when that time comes you are still waiting and no one updates you on your order. The place was not packed so I have no idea why the food took so long. The staff is rude and lack basic customer service, this place has the nerve to have a sign up that states "Be patient, this is a restaurant not a fast food place" I have over heard the owner at this place making rude comments to people he is speaking to but today was the first time I experienced direct rudeness from the staff. The food had flavor, however it was difficult to enjoy because I kept chewing something hard and crunchy, after going through my plate I realized there were several hard pieces of beans (they burnt the beans in the beans and rice!) I didn't even know that was possible. I try my best to support black business but this is one place that I will never order from again. It may be because it is a family owned restaurant, they think it is okay to lack customer service but I hope sooner than later they go out of business because people finally decide not to put up with it.

John S.

Yelp
