Chinatown London’s Restaurants Struggle to Recover From Coronavirus | Eater London

"A small, Hong Kong–style corner diner that exemplifies the disparate treatment tenants say they receive from their landlord; its size and type of operation put it in a different management tier from larger restaurants, contributing to tensions over case-by-case rent negotiations and perceived lack of transparency. Like many smaller, often younger-run outlets in the area, it faces limited options for pivots such as takeaway or grocery sales and is vulnerable to reduced footfall, rising liabilities and broader pressures to modernise the neighbourhood." - Angela Hui

i was here for lunch with my friend, so i ordered a drink to sit and wait. after a while we ordered our lunch together, the staff reminded us as "two drinks minimum order". i was a little confused that 1) yes i've already ordered in my first round; 2) while my second round we ordered 2 food (proper lunch! not a snack) and 1 drink, if only looking at the second order, can't we qualified to be well spent customer? and why are their "rule" being so strict as "drink" but food not counted? considering this inflexibility, i don't think this is a good place to dine. imagine when kids are around, we might not be able to pick drinks per headcount but would have meals (more food!), so is it not welcomed again? we're completely confused to be honest. anyway, the signature bbq pork with omlette wasn't good, the pork is too thick and rough. it's just usual char-chaan-taan quality but it charges so much on top. overall we don't think any of its food quality and service match with our expectation. no return.

That's a georgous cafe with very yummy drinks, food and cake (forgot to take a photo of the cake though...) made from high quality ingredients. Staffs are very friendly as well. Truly worth the queue!

Jen Café was one of the most heartwarming stops on our trip. The food was great, but what truly made the experience special was the owner—so kind, welcoming, and easy to talk to. You can feel the love and care not just in the dishes, but in the atmosphere too. It’s the kind of spot where you leave with a full stomach and a smile. If you’re visiting Hong Kong and want a place that feels personal and genuine, Jen Café is Helwa Approved without a doubt.

Somewhat disappointing despite quite a queue on weekends and on weekends. The iced latte is mediocre and the matcha latte extremely watery. Theost famous cheese foam egg roll is not fluffy as well. Overall I'm quite surprised at its quality as I genuinely thought that it should be good considering it's reputation.

Don’t miss this place - brilliant coffee and good service. One of the best coffees we had in Hong Kong. Its location, in the fabric and shopping area outside of the main city, so it wasn’t as busy.

Setting is very garden zen, quiet and nice staff Very solid 8.2 coffee. Not too strong but pleasant flavour, good colour and milk work is good. Slightly less milk and it would great.
