"If you’re looking for really great Chinese food, hit up Jeng Chi in Richardson’s DFW Chinatown. The restaurant is known for their steaming soup dumplings and bakery which live up to the reputation, but they also hit home runs with all their chicken dishes, whether you want orange, sweet and sour sesame, or kung pao. The atmosphere is laid-back, perfect for a quick meal or takeout before stocking up on groceries at Good Fortune Supermarket in the same shopping plaza. " - Lee Escobedo

Jeng Chi is famous for the dumplings, and by all means, order them, but the entire menu is fantastic. We normally get the Beef Juicy Dumplings, Pork Belly and the Eggplant in Garlic Sauce. You can add a protein to the eggplant, btw. You can’t go wrong with anything here. Now that they take reservations through OpenTable, it’s even better.

There was not a favorite during my visit because everything I ate, everyone I talked to, and everything I saw was spectacular!! Anna, my bartender made some great cocktails and delivered service at the perfect timing. Had I not sat at the bar I would have never known that the owner, who is 90, gets in at 2am everyday and hand makes all their baked goods. Including Moon Cakes! mid-Autumn Festival is upon us so it's time to stock up!! I have no idea which one I'll try first of the eight I bought! For my meal, I had the Green Beans covered in a delicious sauce that I've been told has soy and oyster sauce. Please don't be surprised that I picked up ingredients to try to mimic it at home. It made the dish! I also had the three-pack of Juicy Small Soup Dumplings. You can tell they are freshly made and the soup inside was so yummy!! I can't say enough good about this place. It's definitely going on my "date myself" rotation!

Google
Soup dumplings are the must have item. Chicken fried rice is quality with lots of chicken meat and eggs. Cumin lamb is cooked with quality lamb, but very little cumin flavor. The service is good. The table for two people is quite small, the prices are not reasonable.

Jesse

Google
The juicy dumplings are delicious, I highly recommend trying them! The Kung pao chicken I had was perfect and the portion size was large. The staff here is very friendly and provide excellent service. I will be back for sure!

Most people come here for dumplings and noodles. But the other stir fried dishes are very well prepared too. I have been coming for 30 years, grandpa and grandma have passed down their work ethics and recipes to their only kid that is not a MD, and he has done well. Order anything on the menu and you’ll not be disappointed.

Google
The green onion pancake is very good. The lamb with onions, is very good. The cut of the lamb is just a little thicker than I would have like. Then again everyone is different. The chicken with garlic, got it mild. This is so good. At first I thought I got the wrong dish because there is a sweet taste and then a slow heat. It’s almost like a sweet and sour at first and then the heat. Will definitely order this dish again!

Google
We were referred to this restaurant by a family member and could not have been more impressed for the perfect Sunday lunch. The service was impeccable and so kind, quick to attend and overall quite a pleasure. The atmosphere and restaurant itself is beautiful and perfect for a family celebration. The food was quite amazing. The menu offered quite popular items and left us wanting to try more for next. I recommend started with jasmine tea to sooth before the meal. We ordered the crispy fish with garlic sauce which was amazingly textured with great flavor. We also got the chicken dumplings which had a great dumpling wrapper taste, could be more flavorful with the filling. And we also ordered the Chinese style cumin lamb which was quite savory and paired well with delicious peppers. Will be coming back!

Great variety of delicious dishes and dumplings. Very tasty, nothing amazing, but consistently good

Yelp
OK. Listen. Asian cuisine is my favorite. It is not, however, my wife's favorite. There are very few places we'll repeat because they often don't quite sell it for her. And NOWHERE in 33 years of marriage where we'd drive an hour to get to. This.is.that.place. From the juicy dumplings (which I had never had before) to the green onion pancakes, hot & sour soup to kung pao chicken....homerun!

Stephanie K.

Yelp
I love jeng chi. Their soup dumplings are awesome! Wish they never got rid of the lamb soup dumplings.. those were my favourite! I've tried almost everything on the menu and here is what I recommend: All their dumplings! So filling and delicious. The pork & crab, and curry chicken dumpling are my fav. I also love their noodle dishes or their vegetable dishes. Mongolian beef is good too. I usually try to order at least one vegetarian dish so my go to is either a vegetable delight or sautéed Chinese broccoli with garlic. A wonderful gem this place is!

Stephen W.

Yelp
This restaurant is our go-to for great dumplings. They are consistently excellent. This trip, we started with small steamed with pork and they were great. I tried beef turnover for hot app and they were very tasty but needed salt. For entrees the wife had pork with garlic sauce. She loved it. Great flavor and a bit spicy. I had moo shi chicken and liked it but it was not traditional because there were no wraps to make a Chinese fajita. Service was excellent. The Jack Brown draft beer was excellent. We love this place and will be back for sure.

Yelp
We are here July 30 for lunch. The steamed dumplings were the best we have had in the USA. We have had better in Hong Kong restaurant in China town in London The egg rolls are nothing special, the waiter was honest and said that they are not made in house, they arrive at restaurant frozen. The shrimp dumplings were good but there was no shrimp taste to them. We will be back for the house special dumplings, they were great. August 5th we came back. We had really been looking forward to our 2 nd visit. The steamed dumplings were great! Fried pork chop appetizer was HUGE bust. Very disappointed. If it was up to me they would remove this from the menu. Shrimp fried noodles were a huge letdown also. They were dried out and tasteless. If the noodles were served with some liquid to give flavor or if they weren't so dried out they would have been better. The shrimp were small and over cooked by a lot. Another big bust. BUT the steamed dumplings are great.

Dani A.

Yelp
If you haven't had this before you should... dare I say best Chinese food in DFW? I've loved this place for years and have perfected my order! The spicy wontons, curry chicken dumplings, orange chicken, beef noodle soup and fried rice is all amazing. The waiters/waitresses are so friendly and kind. I will say the hostess with the dirty blonde pixie cut is overbearing but trust me this place is worth it. For example, she once stopped another host from sitting two people for a table of four when the place was empty due to the whole party not being there. LOL

Chantel W.

Yelp
Absolutely enjoyed the simple interior and delicious food. The soup dumplings were divine. Juicy and full of flavor. Nice not overly thick dough for the wrapping. The Chinese broccoli was crunchy and crisp with lots of garlic. Missing a drizzle of hoisin. The pork leek and shrimp pan fried were full of flavor. The spicy pork dumplings were absolutely delicious. The scallion pankcakes were crispy and fresh. I do prefer the thinner pancakes however these were good. All the food truly reminded me of the delicious food I'd eat on a regular in Chinatown NYC. Our waiter was Keith and he was very nice. Overall very good delicious fresh food. I'd recommend hanging out in DFWs Chinatown and grabbing some yum.

Alisha S.

Yelp
If you're craving some good Chinese food, this might be the place for you! Tried a variety of foods including the Honey Walnut Shrimp, Dark Broth Beef Noodle Soup, Pork Wonton in Hot Spicy Sauce, Chicken Fried Rice, and the Spicy Dan Dan Noodles. Everything we got was full of so much flavor! FYI this place is known for their dumplings (which I've had in the past) and they are also delicious!

Caroline Z.

Yelp
Pork and Cabbage Buns (9 count), Hot & Sour Soup, and Green Onion Pancakes So happy to have finally tried one of jeng chi's take home and warm buns! They are already cooked and only need to be in the microwave for a minute or so before they're ready! And they are so filling and tasty! the green onion pancakes here will always be my obsession. The hot and sour soup is very meh, not my preference

Marie N.

Yelp
I feel like the quality and taste have declined over the years. Jeng chi used to have really amazing Chinese food but the flavors were not there the day I visited. The stir fried noodles and rice were bland and kind of cold. The Mongolian beef and wontons in spicy sauce were decent. The mapo tofu had a lot of tofu and beef but the flavors and depth were missing. They seem very under staffed too despite how busy it was. Our server tried her best though and had a positive attitude. The restaurant was still very clean as well.

Jingwen Z.

Yelp
Jeng Chi tries to ride the line between Americanized and traditional Chinese food with surprisingly good results. When we came on a weekend night, there was about a 20 minute wait. I noticed off the bat that most diners were non-Asian and the "Americanized" food options on the menu jumped out at me, so I wondered if I'd made a mistake coming. However, I was quickly humbled after trying the orange chicken. It was actually the best orange chicken I've ever eaten, and I'd 100% order it again! Nothing like what you'd find at Panda Express (though that has its own charm). I would actually highly recommend trying it. They're also well-known for their xiaolongbao - we ordered the regular 8pc, which tasted fine but were honestly pretty small and pricey for what they are. Would probably skip next time. Service was a bit slow but they were also really busy, and our server was very aware and tried his best with us, which was much appreciated!

april l.

Yelp
It seems that the service here is hit or miss. Our server was ok but it took a few mins to be greeted. They were not busy when we arrived. . Other tables that got seated after us were greeted before we were. When we were on our way out we stopped by to look at the desserts. Two people working behind the counter neither of which greeted us so we left without a purchase The food was good. My fav was the crab rangoons. My husband enjoyed the dumplings. The table was dirty under and around the condiments on the table from the previous customers but the rest of the place seemed fine.

Matthew W.

Yelp
I'll be honest. I just wasn't impressed with this spot. I ordered the beef soup dumplings, mapo tofu, and twice-cooked pork. The beef soup dumplings were the highlight and had great flavor. They tasted great with a splash of chili oil as well. On the other hand, the tofu and the pork were both dry and didn't taste fresh at all. The only redeeming qualities here were the soup dumplings, service, and the amazing company I was with. Do yourself a favor and go to Wu Wei Din instead. It has way better quality Chinese food for a similar price. I might give this place another shot and try some other dishes but not sure.

Michelle N.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the soup dumplings and dan dan noodles. The eggplants were a tad too squishy for is. It basically tasted like oil. If we had the opportunity, we shouldve ordered more dumplings. We loved how amazing the staff was! They were always checking on us and refilling our drinks.

Lady Amy t.

Yelp
The service was spot on! Jacob took great care of us! The restaurant is large, clean, well lit and quiet. The Jasmine Tea was incredible and so comforting.

Paul S.

Yelp
We love this place and have been back three times with lots of guests. I used to live in San Francisco and didn't think I could find decent chinese food in Dallas but now I know better. Large tables accommodated all our group of 10 or more. I hesitated to write this as I don't want the wait time to get any longer, but they deserve the credit. Great restaurant.

Susan W.

Yelp
We went for dinner tonight. The Juicy Pork Dumplings were our favorite! They were filled with soup and delicious ground pork. We also had the Dan Dan Noodles! We added their Chili Oil and it was perfect! The Green Onion Cakes were good as well. The service was friendly and attentive. I would like to try their other noodle dishes! We will be back for a return visit!

Shelley F.

Yelp
Came here again and had a better experience this time around! The soup dumplings were more flavorful and steamed better. The wrappers were thinner as well. I feel like they truly lived up to the hype as not only were the dumplings incredibly juicy, but the soup had an amazing depth of flavor. I also had the Sliced Fish with Tofu & Hot Bean Sauce. The fish and tofu were very tender and soft. Jeng Chi's rendition is slightly less spicy compared to other's I've tried, which I actually preferred the less amount of spice. I wasn't a fan of the rice as it tasted slightly mushy to me, and the portion was really small. Lastly, prices are higher than most other Chinese restaurants I've been to in the DFW area.

Jamie T.

Yelp
Twice cooked pork was dry for some of the pork pieces but very good for others so not very consistent. Chicken fried noodles was very basic, I would not recommend getting it. Service was great, our waitress was very good at picking up things and doing her best to attend to us. Ambiance is pretty good, very clean and bright.

Helen G.

Yelp
We got the soup dumplings, shredded pork and tofu, mapo tofu, and chicken in garlic sauce. The soup dumplings had great flavor, I wish it just had a little more soup inside. The shredded pork and tofu sauce was also really good, but we weren't sure if the combination matched. We liked the chicken in garlic sauce, it was more of a sweet and sour sauce with meat. The mapo tofu was our favorite as it was spicy and delicious! Overall, the food was pretty good, it's just a bit on the higher end for price but the quality of ingredients does show. Our waitress was wonderful and very kind. Service was fast and food came out pretty fast too. Interior is a nicer restaurant fit for families or parties or even dates. Friendly atmosphere. Would come again!

Dee L.

Yelp
Overpriced menu. Dumplings and beef noodle soup are good though the soup broth is slightly on the salty side. Chinese food is mediocre. We've had much better Chinese food than at this place for a better price. Chicken is cheap, so there's no need to charge so much for chicken entree. We were "warned" by colleagues to tip at least 20% for service and we did, so as not to incur the wrath of the servers. We were curious to try this place out. Been there, done that. Nothing to warrant another visit.

Neyat A.

Yelp
Great local spot. Got seated right away. Server was attentive and helpful with picking out items. Food was good I wasn't blown away, but I'd definitely come back. Restaurant was pretty, clean and nicely decorated.

Paige N.

Yelp
We found this restaurant in a search for good egg drop soup. Once we walked in we quickly realized it was a packed hidden gem and internet famous. We came back another day after making a reservation and had some of the best Chinese food in the city. We had to try the soup dumplings, egg drop soup, crispy spicy chicken and Dan Dan noodles(vg), and hibiscus lemonade. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive even though it was busy our food still came out in a timely manner. Can't wait to come back and try more things! Definitely try this place! They also have happy hour until 6pm

Daniel J.

Yelp
The best soup dumplings I've had in a VERY long time. Definitely the best in Dallas! I live very close to Chinatown in Richardson, and I can't believe it's taken me so long to start trying restaurants over here. The space inside is really nice and spacious. Our server (I think his name was Kai) was excellent. He was really helpful with suggestions and even explained to my friend the best way to enjoy the soup dumplings, since she'd never had them. We got the classic pork XLB, which were so juicy and flavorful. Our server suggested the turmeric chili oil noodles, which were excellent and not too spicy. The crab rangoons were amazing too. Not the cheap kind that are 99% cream cheese with a few specks of crab. I could see actual pieces of crab meat inside! Our only complaint was that my friend arrived about 15 mins before me, and the host wouldn't seat her.......in the almost completely empty restaurant. I get that there are probably rules they're told to follow, but sometimes maybe you can just use good judgement to make a call? HIGHLY recommend trying this place if you live in DFW!!

Anthony N.

Yelp
Service was good, attentive and easy going! Their ambience isn't anything crazy, just regular shmegular, they were blasting the AC so it was a little chilly. Their shrimp and pork dumplings had good filling ratio, but I would say their dumpling wrappers for both regular dumplings and XLB (soup dumplings) are on the thicker side. The scallion pancakes were good and crispy but not much flavor. The hot and sour soup was good, good amount of sour! Follow @aanthonyate on Instagram for more DFW eats!

TinMan T.

Yelp
It's Hit or Miss with this place - depending on your server I suppose Check #26 Guest count 3 11/25/23 12:00 Table A7 Now I just wanted to inform you It was not busy - at all I provided our server about the "Ad" For mentioning - for a complimentary Serving doe Hot and sour soup for my son . I was still charged 4.50 My colleague asked our Server for lemons 3 times. It was not until I asked our server for them when she finally came back . Pork Wonton in Hot Spicy sauce was served "cold" The two minutes two bites rule was not enforced . I still tipped 18% just because I have worked the industry for over 39 years . Do not put ad in the paper if you are not going to endorse it - - even if it's just 4.50 I am not attempting to get the sever in trouble at all - bottom line "Do better"

Carolinna S.

Yelp
I have been going to Jengchi for a long time. Mostly for their dumplings and other food. Never disappoint. I love the roll cakes too from the bakery. Used to get the beef and chicken pie and have them for lunch to go for my son's lunch box. So so good. Today I stopped by while waiting for the Lunar year event starting. So cold outside. Glad Jengchi open an I can get my caramel macchiato. It is good though I like a stronger tasting coffee. This is mild. But it served the purpose. Warm me up and get my caffeine dose in. Walked to the bakery and the black forest cake caught my eyes. Looked really good. And it was.. I was surprise.. I mean their cake is not the German style cake but they are not skimming on those cherries. Cake was moist and just the way we like it... not overly sweet. I could be wrong but I think they use kirsch.. surprisingly the soft fluffy cake can hold those moisture and cherries very well. I am a happy camper now. No rain can stop me walk around the event ... outdoor and misty.

Felecia I.

Yelp
Jeng Chi is simply fabulous. The food was so good that we ate there again the very next day! We tried a few things and highly recommend: small juicy steamed soup dumplings, salt & pepper tiger shrimp, twice cooked pork, stir fried string beans, sautéed spinach with garlic. Ingredients were fresh, and every dish was on point. The only disappointment was the pork & crab soup dumplings. They were bland and didn't contain much liquid inside. If you go on the weekend, don't miss the savory stuffed pastries hand crafted by the owner's father. Only $2.75 each and well worth it. Look for them on the top shelf in the to-go bakery section.

Jeff M.

Yelp
Not what it used to be. I've been here 4 times over the past year or so - first 2 were really good - but not the last two recently within the past 3-5 months. Had to send plates back on both ocassions. There was no issue when we sent the food back. So that was a relief. Ambiance is very nice. Servers are usually very good too.

Gene G.

Yelp
Food is very good and service is great! Pleasant atmosphere.our favorite Chinese restaurant!

Greg L.

Yelp
This is our go to Chinese restaurant in DFW. Time after time the food is good. Occasionally something might be off. But today, everything was spot on. Tasty, hot, tender, just simply good. We always start with green onion pancakes and various dumplings. We had about 6 different entrees, all of which were very good.

Yolanda S.

Yelp
Best Chinese food ever! It is a bit of a drive for me, but it is well worth it. Everything we ordered was mouthwatering delicious.

D. Scott C.

Yelp
Great place to have authentic Chinese cuisine. Had a late lunch with the girls. We ordered some pork soup dumplings, hot and sour soup, orange chicken, and Mongolian beef and broccoli. It's always hot and fresh (like me) and served with a smile. Their choices of drinks are extensive. We come here a lot when we're jonesing for Chinese.

Sonya E.

Yelp
I was in Dallas for work, and kept hearing from those in my network that Jeng Chi in Richardson was a spot not to pass up while in town. Of course, my curious self had to try for myself. I ordered the following -- * Pork and Crab Juicy Steamed Dumplings (6) * Shrimp & Pork Steamed Dumplings (8) * Shrimp and Pork Wonton Soup (Small) * Sauteed Chinese Broccoli with Garlic * China Oolong Tea Everything was exactly what I heard from my initial conversations with other people -- fresh, lots of flavor, and dumplings were generously stuffed with protein of choice. I observed other tables ordering all the classics (orange chicken, beef and broccoli, etc.) for sharing family style. The restaurant is pretty big but for capacity reasons -- they do cap off a section of the restaurant so there is enough coverage from servers. It's a louder and faster pace environment so not a good choice if you're looking to get work done over lunch. Other than that, this place is definitely worth checking out!

Bijun C.

Yelp
Disappointing experience. Unauthentic Chinese food even though the restaurant claims to be.

Newly P.

Yelp
Went back again after a long time and it was as great as always! I got the spicy pork xiao long bao and curry chicken xiao long bao. Both were delicious but I liked the curry chicken better. Also ordered fried chicken noodles, garlic chicken, and Mongolian beef. Everything was superb! I'm left feeling really full and very happy

Jackie G.

Yelp
Authentic food and a fantastic staff that anticipates your needs. They also respect privacy and giving time to let you talk and visit.

Millie C.

Yelp
I had dinner with a few friends on a busy Saturday night. The place takes reservations but you might be lucky if you arrive before 5:30 pm. The food was great. We had pork and crab soup dumplings which came with slices of ginger and table vinegar for a classic experience. We also got the jellyfish cucumber which is a cold appetizer. It was really done well with the right amount of sweet to balance the tanginess in the light dressing. If you haven't had jellyfish before now, jeng chi is the place to try it. The group also ordered cumin lamb & some stir fried noodles. Stir fried noodles had lots of veggies and protein but was missing some extra flavor, which was fixed by the chili oil and soy sauce at the table. Service was attentive. Nothing more I can say except that I will definitely return.

Melinda S.

Yelp
If you're not familiar with China Town in Richardson, Texas , it's truly a hidden gem!! This tiny little strip mall is loaded with some of the best authentic Taiwanese and mainland Chinese food in the North Texas area. Yelp reviews helped us choose Jeng Chi. Fresh food, great service, and a delicious experience. I highly recommend reservations!! Making a reservation online is easy but often limited. You can call, and they will try to work you in. When you arrive, the restaurant looks half empty, but we soon figured out that they do not have enough wait staff to service a full house. There were many people waiting in the lobby when we arrived, I heard the hostess say there was a 30-minute wait and it was only 4pm. The rave reviews for Jeng Chi are true. We ordered the BEEF JUICY STEAMED DUMPLINGS (6) for $15.00. We had no idea what this meant. We were pleasantly surprised to learn it was a soup dumpling filled with ground beef, ginger, scallion, celery, and yellow onion. Once we figured out what it was and how to eat it, we loved it! These handmade dumplings are made from scratch -- we watched them make them (very cool). If you've got an appetite, it's kinda difficult to share 6 dumplings with two or more people. We also ordered something that was more familiar to us, ORANGE CHICKEN for $17.50. It was dark meat chicken tossed with sweet "very spicy" orange sauce, dried orange peel, and dried chili pods. Served with a bowl of rice. TIP: enough food for two! Absolutely delicious, the best orange chicken I've had in a long time. The addictive kind of yummy lol. Many gluten-free and vegetarian options!! We enjoyed the whole experience so much that we made reservations for Valentine's Day. There were many different types of appetizers, soups, and entrees that rushed past us, served at tables near us, that smelled divine. We plan to return and become regulars.

Krista R.

Yelp
It'll be 8 years this year since my first review of Jeng Chi and since husband told me to "find Dallas Chinatown".. Wow, it doesn't seem that long ago. Now when he says he wants chinese, I'm like "what style of chinese cooking?" heh Jeng Chi was our first introduction to Soup Dumplings. Jeng Chi was our first introduction to Authentic Chinese cooking. Jeng Chi literally threw us down the rabbit hole of exploring authentic Asian food. Rabbit hole? Is that the right word? I think so. We dined here every year on Christmas until probably right before the pandemic. They had a change in ownership and then we just for whatever reason didn't make it back until Just a few days ago. Everything I've had here has been delicious. Most recently, having Lamb in cumin sauce and chinese broccoli with garlic. The Krista walking into Jeng Chi 8 years ago would probably not have ordered that. I wasn't too sure of the cumin sauce at first because when I think of Cumin I think of Mexican food, so I wondered how they would pull this Lamb in Cumin sauce off. It was definitely Cumin in the sauce but also like chili sauce. I loved it. Spicy and full of flavor. I love chinese broccoli!!! This was good and so garlicky. Love it. Love Jeng Chi.

Levy C.

Yelp
This was a Great find. My wife told me that several of her friends liked this place and when I checked Yelp that had over 1000 reviews. So we took chance and checked it out. Below is what we liked about Jeng Chi. 1. Location. It is on Greenville ave in the Chinese district north of beltline road in Richardson. We are fortunate to have a large Asian population in DFW but this area is mostly Chinese. 2. Ambience is top notch. When I go to an Asian restaurant I want to see Asian people eating there. The physical place looks and feels Chinese. It is large open room with Chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling. It is festive but not over the top. 3. The food was great not good but great. Their menu is pretty standard fare but cooked well and presented well. 4. They apparently are famous for dumplings so we had to try them. They have a variety but we went with the standard and we were not disappointed. The presentation was terrific too. I got the moo shi pork without the pancakes that the waiter had told me when I ordered. However, it was so good that I did not missed them. My wife had the shrimp fried rice and she enjoyed it. 5. The server / waiter was well versed on the menu and was efficient and available. 6. We arrived around 5:30 and before we left they were on a wait. The can seat about 150. They do takeout too. 7. After dinner we wandered by the front of the restaurant where they have a bakery and they sell their dumplings to take home. 8. We now have a " go to" Chinese restaurant not too far from home.

Teresa K.

Yelp
This was super good!!! The service was amazing and the food was great! I got the Pork and Shrimp dumplings and the fried rice. Yummm!!! I'll be back.

Wang J.

Yelp
Love this place. Specially leek turnovers is my favorite. Our family reunion there yesterday was great time with wonderful food. Thank you for always same tasting !

J S.

Yelp
Everyone in our group loved their dishes and we all chose different items! No one could pick a favorite as all dishes were incredibly fresh and delicious! Soup dumplings were amazing!! The white peach tea was delightful.

Samantha C.

Yelp
Jeng Chi was recommended by our neighbor and it surely did not disappoint! We ordered the fiery soup dumplings, spicy dan dan noodles, and combination fried rice to share between the two of us. We were both starving when we walked in, and walked out stuffed! Everything was delicious. Definitely pricier than what is listed on Yelp, but not unreasonable.

Nick M.

Yelp
Really excellent Chinese food! My parents and I picked up to feed the whole family for Christmas Eve. It totally hit the spot and I couldn't help but go back for more after my first plate. The juicy steamed dumpling, the orange chicken, and the fried noodle were particularly good. I'd like to try the crispy duck while dining in next time. Thanks Jeng Chi!

Yelp
The dumplings here are so delicious, I would almost consider moving to Richardson. I've sat in a booth and at the bar and the service was top notch both times.

Yelp
Fiery dumplings and chicken curry dumplings are SO GOOD! My husband never wants Asian food and he regularly asks to go to Jeng Chi! He is obsessed with the fiery soup dumplings and orange beef.

Yelp
I have worked near Jeng Chi Restaurant and dined there on a regular basis for over 30 years. It has been our go-to Chinese restaurant, as their recipes and choices are excellent, as are the service, location, and ambiance. Unfortunately, we have dined there for the last time, as their menu prices have increased rapidly to the point that it has diminished the value of the dining experience and they no longer can compete for our limited dine out dollars. Best of luck Jeng Chi. We'll miss you.

Yelp
The best soup dumplings I've ever had! Friendly service, never a wait when I go and really good food. I've tried the pork soup dumplings, the wonton soup, scallion pancake and orange chicken. I didn't care for their wonton soup but everything else was awesome. The orange chicken is more of a sweet and spicy chicken, there's not a lot of orange flavor but I still enjoyed it. I like their scallion pancake but I'm not a huge fan of their chili oil (that's already on the table) so next time I'll ask for a different dipping sauce.
