Love that they give you a piece of the waffle cone when you get it in a cup! Great variety of flavors. Nice corner to cool down a bit. Good ice cream.

Amber Connell

Google
The ice cream here is truly splendid. They have very interesting and unique combinations and they are all made right there. The people working there were very friendly and patient with us as we made our selections.

Matthew Pyeatt

Google
Incredible! Service was top-notch. They let us try several flavors before making a selection. The Double Dough was the best cookie dough I’ve ever had!

I was out walking errands today and knew my fav places were closed on Mondays soooo I stopped in Jeni's only because it was highly rated. Let me start with my overall thought before I get into it. SHORT ANSWER: For me, the serving was small, the ice cream was too sweet, the ice cream had ice/frost crunch to it, and it was not a good value. In short, this is kid-style ice cream but the parents should cry at the price they pay. STANDING IN LINE: When I walked up to Jeni's and saw three counters of ice cream from the back of the line I got excited that I would get to choose from many flavors. Uhh, when I got up to the counter I was faked out because each counter had repeating flavors with these fluffy names that market to kids. FALSE LINES: The line was artificially long because everyone stop at the first counter and the staff do not guide folks to move down to accommodate customers in line behind them. The line also gets long because everyone ask to sample several ice creams because the ice cream title tells you nothing of what it is. When I got to the counter I kept asking the staff to tell me what the ice cream were like Texas Layer Cake and Popcorn Butter Brittle tells me nothing. You'd think they would use their signage to describe what each ice cream contains to slow folks from having samples and asking so many questions. Ice cream should not be this hard. MY SELECTION: After 30 minutes standing in line I got one scoop of a safe flavor that's technically Vanilla (I don't recall what they call it), and one scoop of Texas Layer Cake in a waffle cup. For $11 I was stunned how small the scoops were. I am value spoiled because for that price my fav places pack the whole cup. THE TASTING: Now I dig into to see what's the high rating all about. Hmm, well, the waffle was really thin and not much flavor. The scoop of vanilla was small and had ice bits in it. The scoop of Texas Layer Cake was technically chocolate ice cream with a little cake bits in it. I am unsure why they call it layer cake since there was nothing layered about it -- misleading fluff. Both scoops of ice cream were small and really sweet. I say this because halfway eating the ice cream I was getting a headache and my watchband got tight. I had to loosen my watchband and immediately drink electrolytes to offset the sugar. Overall, Jeni's is not for me and I will not return.

Google
It was good, but I was actually not super impressed! I've gotten their pints at the store before and loved them, so me and bestie went here for ice cream and it was good, but didn't meet the standard of even the store-bought pints! So weird. But, ice cream is yummy. 😋

Google
Good ice cream I don’t eat much sweets but it’s always a pleasure to stop into a Jeni’s and grab a half scoop/kid’s scoop. There is sometimes a line out the door but it moves pretty quick. I’ve been to this location and the one in Shirlington. The service is much better here which adds to the experience.

I always love coming here for an ice cream, even in the freezing cold. Jeni’s always has an amazing selection with some new and rotating flavors. The staff is always helpful and kind.

Google
Delicious ice cream, great atmosphere, and friendly staff! Stopped by Jeni’s in Old Town Alexandria and had a cup of the Double Dough. The shop itself is bright, clean, and really inviting—definitely a place you want to hang out for a bit. The staff were super friendly and helpful, even with a steady stream of customers. The Double Dough flavor did not disappoint. It’s a rich, brown sugar custard with chocolate chip cookie dough pieces. The base is buttery and smooth, and it really does taste like premium cookie dough. The dough pieces were on the smaller side—I wouldn’t have minded a few more—but overall, it was a really satisfying flavor. Not overly sweet, but definitely indulgent. Jeni’s isn’t cheap, but you can tell you’re getting a high-quality product. If you’re a fan of cookie dough or just looking for something a little different and really well done, Double Dough is worth a try. Bottom line: Jeni’s is a great stop in Alexandria. The Double Dough flavor is creamy, nostalgic, and delicious. If you’re looking for a velvety cookie-dough treat and don’t mind spending a little extra, you’ll be glad you stopped in.

Yelp
On September 27, 2024, my best friend, my son, and I visited this ice cream shop around 8:30 PM. We managed to snag a meter parking spot, but keep in mind, parking is limited to the street, so being good at parallel parking is a bonus. The staff was incredibly patient as we made our selections, and we sampled about three flavors before deciding. We ordered three standard cups/plates, each priced at $7.15, along with a kid's scoop for $5.25, bringing our total to $29.30. My son is vegan, so he went with a non-dairy option, though he didn't end up eating it. I opted for the Sweet Potato Marshmallow Praline and Bay Leaf Cheesecake flavors. The Sweet Potato Marshmallow Praline was perfection - definitely a must-have for me. Just a heads-up: the ice cream melts quickly, so take your time to enjoy it, but not too much time! Since the seating inside was full and I hadn't paid for meter parking, we ended up eating in the car. The interior is clean, modern, and on the smaller side, typical of many ice cream shops. There's indoor and outdoor seating available if you prefer to dine in or take your treat outside.

Yelp
Hey friends! I stopped by Jeni's for a sweet treat while on break at work. I got my favorite, the Gooey Butter Cake. Amazing per usual. Jeni's ice cream is always so buttery soft and the perfect amount of sweet. Customer service was poor this time unfortunately. The cashier had an attitude when I asked her to separate the flavors I got. The other flavor was for someone else so we needed separate containers. She had an issue with that I guess and just walked away after I paid, never said have a great day, thanks for coming in, nothing. Regardless of the poor service, I'll still be back for more ice cream soon! With love, The Picky Pescatarian.

Yelp
I've been a Jeni's fanatic for nearly a decade now! I love all of the unique flavors that they come up with as well as the traditional ones they have on the every day menu. The Old Town location is always so friendly and the customer service is never lacking presence. Parking can be a bit of trouble because it is mostly street. There is a very small paid parking lot behind the building, though. The prices are on par for the area and I am never disappointed with my selections. They have a rewards system that is nice to have if you frequent the business, too. There is seating inside only. None outside. They allow samples, as well. If in the area, they are worth the parking hassle to get a sweet treat.

Yelp
Very nice location and the ice cream was good. Staff were kind of snappy, but I also acknowledge it was 10pm at night and that's how I am at 10pm too. Very clean location, but not a lot of seating.

Yelp
I've heard so much about this ice cream shop!! I don't know where or when, but I have. Their signature signage outside caught my attention in my peripheral view. I rarely come to Old Town Alexandria so I had to stop even though I had zero capacity for it!! The staff was super inviting and friendly as soon as we walked in. I was a little overwhelmed due to zero capacity and truly couldn't bother to actually read the flavors/descriptions. I asked the employee what was the popular flavor and what was his favorite flavor. Without hesitation, I let him know that I was not interested in the seasonal flavors as he was starting to point that direction (haha). He let me taste three different flavors before I settled on Brown Butter Almond Brittle. The smallest size was the kid's bowl, which totaled $5.56 (including tax). Although it was pricey, Their ice cream is definitely pricey, given the area (and probably insane rent!). There were parking spots in front of the shop, but I'm not sure if payment is required. Would I return? If I'm in the area, I might!

Yelp
I'm not really an ice cream gal however I've heard so many great things about this place and it was almost 100 degrees outside so I decided it may be a great time to try it out. The minute you walk in you are immediately given a warm hug by the smell of fresh waffle cones and bowls being made and BOOM, you're intoxicated and no doubt going to get one to accompany your ice cream. They have soooooo many unique and delish flavors that it's really tough to choose but they let you sample which helps in making your decision. I landed on getting a scoop of the ooey gooey butter cake and chocolate chip cookie ice cream and of course had it in one of those freshly made waffle bowls. OMG ... BEST ICE CREAM EVVVVVER!!! Now I totally understand the hype and will definitely be back! Oh and the employees are amazing ... super friendly and patient and what I would also call ice cream experts!

Yelp
Great ice cream! Great flavors! Great service. Love it summer and winter! How can you make vanilla ice cream taste better... add honey to it! That's what Jenni's did. They took the simplest flavor and made it so much better. Imagine what some of the other flavors taste like!

Erin B.

Yelp
We stopped here for dessert after having dinner in Old Town Alexandria. The ice cream was good but the service we received was terrible. Logan waited on us and one of the ladies that I was with tried to order cookies and cream ice cream. She had never been to Jeni's and didn't realize that they don't offer that flavor. Logan kept saying, "I can give you vanilla ice cream, but I can't manufacture that flavor!". He could have easily told her that he didn't have that flavor and she would have moved on. To keep repeating that he can't manufacture a flavor is both rude and completely uncalled for. To say that we are disappointed in the service would be an understatement.

Yelp
UDATED REVIEW: Overall a good experience at Jeni's. I've returned a few times since my first visit in 2021 and my experiences have been better. I do wish their scoops were larger, however, still delicious ice cream. There is street parking and parking in the back of the shop. Give them a try. ************************************************************* ORIGINAL REVIEW: August 5, 2021 Giving Jeni's a 3* review based on my first experience. In my book a 3* isn't bad and more so a provisional. I wish I could give it 3.5* because I do think it is closer to a 4* than it is to a 3* however there are some limiting factors which keep it out of the distinguished 4* club and I'll need to experience it on a few more occasions before I give it an emphatic 4*. There are a few other flavors I would like to try also like their Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach and Lemon & Blueberries Parfait, however given the fact that there always seems to be a line to get into the shop at the Alexandria, VA location I may not have another opportunity to patronize Jeni's which is why I feel compelled to give this review. I make that statement given I drive by this Jeni's every weekend on my way to Potomac Yard shopping center. Simply put - I've had better ice cream and in Alexandria in particular and based on this visit I can't see myself putting Jeni's in the same categories as some of the others in Alexandria. Price generally isn't an issue for me if the ice cream (or any other food product) is exceptional however for this ice cream I don't think the price is commensurate to the quality of the ice cream. I know some won't agree because there is a lot of local and social media hype with Jeni's because of their unique flavors and I'll admit, their unique flavors that I read-up on is what attracted me. On this visit I purchased the Gooey Butter Cake and Cookies & Cream. It was OK however considering it was a unique blend of flavors I did expect a richer taste from the Goey Butter Cake. It was moderately sweet. I did expect more in the flavor department. I'm not a fan of getting an ice cream cone and having it placed in a "cup" or bowl but it seems this is a signature move at Jeni's. My wife went in to the shop while I waited in the car however I'm sure they'll be accommodating if you ask for no cup with the cone. I want to try Jeni's again and if circumstances are ideal i.e. no line outside I will certainly return to try the other flavors I mentioned and quite possibly upgrade my review to a 4*. You should try Jeni's too and see for yourself.

Yelp
Great ice cream and waffle cones wherever you go. Always a line out the door but the service is fast. This Jeni's doesn't have a large seating area which came make it tough when it in the upper 90s and trying to enjoy your goodies before they melt.

Yelp
I came to visit some friends in Virginia over the summer. They brought me down to Old Town Alexandria to show me around, and it was absolutely wonderful. Lots of beautiful scenery along the river, many cute little boutique shops, lots of patio-dining restaurants. It was just nice. But before we got to our sight-seeing, our first stop was at Jeni's Splendid. A cute little grab-and-go shop with dynamite flavors and special rotating monthly flavors. Which is amazing, because that's the best way to encourage repeat business to your ice cream shop, is with rotating flavors. So we get in line and start perusing the menu. The pressure was on, because I don't have one of these back home, so I had to choose the Right flavor. I end up choosing Darkest Chocolate and Salted Chocolate Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks in a Buttercrisp Waffle Cone. Excellent choices. The chocolate was nice and had a hint of bitterness. The peanut butter was very nice and peanuty with some salt and then that texture from the flecks was nice. I realize that this paragraph isn't saying much of anything with substance, but the bottom line is that they were delicious. And I always love a big waffle cone. Ever since then, I've been wanting to go back and try more stuff. I was pining. And then one day, my prayers were answered, we got one in Orlando! So yes, this place was really great, and it appears that I will be going back very soon.

Yelp
I just had the Sweet Cream Biscuit and Peach Jam ice cream in a waffle bowl at Jeni's in Alexandria, Virginia, and ... it was life-changing! As someone who usually ranks ice cream below brussels sprouts, this flavor was a revelation. The creamy sweetness and tangy peach jam combo had me questioning all my life choices. Why do I only buy chocolate ice cream? Should I have been an ice cream critic? Did I really need that degree? Should I reconsider my hair color? Is moving next door to Jeni's a viable option? The waffle bowl? A crunchy masterpiece. I'd drive 3 hours again for this--might even move next door. Seriously, it's that good.

Yelp
Man, if a company's going on about how they monitor the milk proteins for structuring versus using emulsifiers, I may not know what they're saying... but it's workin'. Get the 3 half-scoops with a waffle bowl! It's a perfect size for two people to share and have plenty to enjoy. Plus, 3 half-scoops is like .75 more than the 2 half-scoops, so the savings are clearly undeniable! The line gets pretty crazy sometimes, but I certainly think it's worth the wait. Nice and aromatic waffle cones and some fun flavors. Brambleberry crisp and lemon bar are my faves. Worth it for an indulgent treat.

Yelp
My waistline is super unhappy that I found Jeni's but my stomach is thrilled! You must try this super creamy, delicious ice cream. Some standouts are the darkest chocolate and salty caramel. It's the best when you walk out into the hot weather and the ice cream melts justtttt slightly. YUM. Make sure to get a waffle cone chip with your bowl. I love that they give you 2 half scoops so you can enjoy 2 flavors with your small size. One downside is that they run out of flavors kinda fast! It's that popular. Guess I'll just have to get there earlier next time.
google avatar

Ainslee M.

Yelp
Great service and ice cream. We were allowed to try all the weird flavors before we ordered. Every one of them tasted great!!! Love that they have seasonal flavors. My favorite was the sweet potato with pecans!
google avatar

Brittany N.

Yelp
Pros: The wonderful pastel, almost Barbie-like, 1970's vibe going on in there. Amazing workers, huge smiles on their faces and huge encouragement to samples flavors. The flavors were all really potent. Subtle ice cream flavors are a sign of cost cutting. None of that crap here. A huge pro is that we're getting one in Orlando! I think it opened a couple days ago! Cons: N/A Tips: Gooey Butter Cake, and for the love of God don't look at those calories on the menu, who would do that.

Yelp
Happiness in a Cone! Taste of Heaven! No wonder there's a queue to get in Jeni's! This is by far one of the best ice creams I've ever had! The location we visited, Alexandria VA. Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream is splendid indeed! We tasted Salted peanut butter, gooey butter cake, darkest chocolate x2, salty caramel, and brown butter almond brittle. All Divine! But my favorite was the Salted Peanut Butter followed by the Gooey Butter Cake! On a Waffle cup! Then I discovered Jeni's had multiple locations all over the country including several locations in LA! And then an even better discovery.... my local food store carries them! I could buy a pint of Jeni's and eat while watching TV! This is definitely a must try! if you don't, you're missing out on something awesome!!!! #icecream #icecreamcone #delicious #jenisicecream #alexandriava #tasteofheaven #peanutbutter #buttercake #chocolate #almond #highlyrecommended #musttry #oldtownalexandria #worktravel #worktravellife #outoftowner #visiting #tourist #notfromhere #socalweekendwalkarounds #blogger #pinoyfoodie #yelp #yelpelite #yelpelitesquad #april2024

Yelp
I love the creativity that they put into the ice cream flavors. It was so hate to choose. There are only two dairy free choices to pick from. The chocolate one had a very unbinding texture like it was broken into bits. So we got the lemon bar. It is very lemony and coconuty from the coconut milk. We pick the brambleberry crisp. It was an ice cream flavor we have never had before, and i mean it in an amazing way. The crisps have a cookie dough texture. Not sure if brambleberry even existed, but if they did, I would like some fresh one. We glad we made a trip to get these scoops after dinner.

Yelp
Super cute ice-cream joint! They have so many flavors. They also have an icecream flight that you can get and try 10 different flavors for $22. They also have smaller options 2, or 4 scoops. They had such a long line out of the door. I don't think the wait was worth the icecream. And they did not have any waffle cones made. I saw the worker making the mix and storing it for the next day but wouldn't make some for now even though they had a lot of people asking for it and still had 2 hours before close.
google avatar

Shanesta H.

Yelp
It's yummy. It's rich. It's love on a cone...lol. I've loved getting scoops here since they first popped up 4 years ago. The pints are not cheap, but the quality makes up for that. Love their sugar cones, and grab a pint of my favorites when I can. Stop by, you won't regret it, and the service is always nice.

Yelp
As a tourist, I was randomly wandering along the King Street and spotted this shop. Of course I can't resist any ice cream so I decided to give it a try. The place have nice setting with seating area. I asked the staff to try two flavors (Coffee With Cream & Sugar and Brown Butter Almond Brittle) first and I like both instantly. I usually not in favor of brown butter, but the one in Jeni's is so tasty and not too sweet. The staff is nice and patient and gave me big scoops. The shop also provides self served water. Very thoughtful of them. They also have 2 neutral gender restrooms for customers to use and they are well maintained.

Yelp
Jeni's is so delicious and perfect for a quick, tasty treat! It's a little expensive but great for a special occasion or fun outing. I like the Gooey Butter Cake the best!

Yelp
Wow this is a cute little ice cream shop in Old Town Alexandria. We loved the location and were able to find easy parking across the street to make sure we came back after dinner to enjoy some Jeni's ice cream! We were amazed with the over all look of the shop and we love the friendly staff and mmmm that ice cream is so delicious it will have you coming back each time! This was our second visit to Jeni's and my wife and I said this is our new favorite ice cream spot!

Yelp
This ain't the standard ice cream. The flavor profiles that they offer coupled with natural ingredients and old school creamery style isa full circle experience. A brightly lit space with plenty of seating and tunes. The hours are perfect for a late night craving fix. The pricing is moderately expensive for ice cream. But this isn't baskin Robbin's - not that anything is wrong with them. The air smells like freshly baked waffle cones. The staff will let you try the flavors before you make a decision. I will say that I may have had a new trainee when I ordered the Specialty PB&J Sunday. He made it he Sunday but when it got to the whipped cream portion - the dispenser was not properly charged via CO2. I tried to let him know what to do but he kinda brushed me off and the whipping cream poured over the Sunday changing the presentation, texture and overall profile of the Sunday. I was let down by the end result of such a pricey item. The staff member peeped this and advised that he could offer something else. I got two basic scoops of ice cream and rejoined my party. Despite this I would definitely return to Jeni's to try some other flavors. This would be a great date nite conclusion with the misses. If you got a lil boo thing go catch a movie, have dinner, skip the desert and stop passed Jeni's for a few scoops of creamy delight (pause)

Yelp
There's usually a line out the door and that's for a reason! This place is fantastic. Their flavors are amazing. I've never tried a flavor I didn't like. Once I went in and there weren't any waffle bowls ready. They made some in less than 5 minutes. Customer service is always fantastic. I'm not a huge fan of their grocery store ice cream, but I always leave with a smile when I go to the shop. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Christopher B.

Yelp
There is a reason why there is seemingly always a wait to get this ice cream. I came twice and lucked out not having to wait too long but only after getting my ice cream watching the line get longer by the minute. The salted caramel to me was the highlight here. It was probably my favorite version that I've found. I did try some other flavors but some of them just didn't do it for me but I could see why others would like it. Regardless of flavor, the consistency and taste of everyone I tried was excellent.

Yelp
Jeni's is always a great choice when you have a sweet tooth! After dinner in Old Town, we decided to walk around for some dessert and saw that there was a Jeni's here! Jeni's is one of my favorite gelato places, so of course we had to stop by. The Food: This time around, I went with a "Single", which includes up to two flavors of your choice. I went with the Wildberry Lavender and the Cold Brew Coconut Cream. It was my first time trying the coconut cream and it was very delicious! Wildberry Lavender is my all time favorite here at Jeni's so that was an easy choice. The Service: Service was good. Line was moving along, even with the line initially going out the door. But the staff were making it work for the dinner rush and got the orders out as fast as they could. The Atmosphere: Jeni's is setup nicely, displaying all the flavors for you to see upfront and there is also a large menu on the wall for you to browse beforehand as well. There isn't that much seating here, but that's fine since it's always nice to eat some ice cream and take a stroll through the town. Overall, a 5/5! Jeni's is a must try when craving some sweets. Highly recommend! My personal favorite is the Wildberry Lavender.

Yelp
Oh my god. I never post on this app. Ever. Like srsly. This was the best cream I've ever had in my life. I fantasize about this ice cream. And that's saying a lot since I'm from Wisconsin where we have plenty of good ice cream and custard. This was so good I felt like I HAD to give it a five star review. Also I just discovered they have an online shop two seconds ago so my life is complete. I got the gooey butter cake and lemon and blueberry flavors (tastes great with a waffle cone!) anyways this was outstanding and I will be ordering online

Foo D.

Yelp
The ice cream is pretty good but the rules about not splitting an order in two if you just want one scoop is annoying. We come with our kids and they only eat one scoop at most so why pay $7.16 twice? The fake marketing saying they are "2 half scoops" is nonsense. I came once and paid over $30 for 4 people. Today I skipped getting ice cream for myself and my wife and will probably not come back. I get better ice cream at Wholefoods and can eat it at home without the attitude.

Yelp
Came in last night around closing time to this cute little shop in Old Town. Was warmly greeted by Cayden, who went above & beyond in helping us figure out what to order. While handing out samples, he explained the various flavor profiles and made recommendations based on our personal preferences. I was stuck between getting a waffle cone or cup, and he let me know that I could have a cup with a waffle wedge on the side. Best of both worlds, yay! The gooey butter(?) was perhaps the best ice cream of my life! Creamy, fresh, and just the right amount of sweet. Perfect way to end date night!
google avatar

Quinntin R.

Yelp
Cayden was amazing!!!! He should be the manager. He was extremely attentive and kind. He even noticed when my gf was unsure about the waffle cone and came back to double check. The ice cream is also amazing!!! Highly recommend gooey cake batter
google avatar

Radha P.

Yelp
After venturing downtown we decided to stop by on a Tuesday night for a quick dessert. Each of of chose two flavors and split them. The gooey butter cake was pretty average. I was expecting more cake pieces. The salty Carmel was the showstopper! Perfect blend of sweet and salty! The dark chocolate was very thick and creamy, just the right amount of sweetness. The brambleberry crisp was amazing. The jam was fresh and not frozen so it proved a great texture along with the ice cream. Waffle cone was thin and crispy yet strong enough to hold the ice cream. Amazing service!
google avatar

Alan S.

Yelp
Fantastic ice cream, and a menu that's easy to navigate! A rarity among ice cream shops With dozens of flavors. Jeni's proves that no excuse for a complicated menu. Gooey Butter cake and a smile from the wait staff completed a pleasant experience!
google avatar

Eilleen L.

Yelp
Jeni's is consistently good. I feel the employees spend too much time chatting with each other instead of helping the 10+ customers waiting in line.
google avatar

Peyton F.

Yelp
Soooo good! Great flavor & perfect sized chunks in the ice cream. The gooey butter cake is easily one of my favorite ice creams of all time. The service was pretty fast even though the line was out the door. 10/10!
google avatar

Joseph F.

Yelp
Okay the line was out the door when we arrived which was a VERY good sign. The flavors are unique so if you're look forward a regular vanilla or chocolate - wrong spot. What you do get is Darkest Chocolate and honey vanilla and several other very delicious ice creams. I had the Honey Vanilla and Coffee and cream flavors but actually got to sample many of the others. Service was quick and friendly. There are seats inside but we took ours to go. Another freaky flavor was a salted licorice ice cream. I couldn't make up my mind if I liked it so went with the other flavors. Prices are not cheap I if you're thinking Carvel or Baskin and Robbins. But this was soooo much better. We went again the next day.

Yelp
First time and I like their ice cream! The line can be long, but staff do the best they can to make it go smoothly. Flavors are delish and you can sample before ordering.

Yelp
This place has parking right behind making it easy to get to. This is my first time here and I was happy with the service and the quality of ice cream. The cashier was super kind and kept offering to let us try the other flavors as we were hesitant on picking. I ended up getting coffee with cream. It was so good, he recommended it and i am shocked i have never been here because I pass by this place every weekend!

Yelp
I like the ice cream here. They definitely have unique flavors that I don't normally see. They lines can definitely get long, but don't be discouraged because they move fast, it's not an issue. The shop itself is cute, it's clean, they have merch that you can buy. Not a big fan of the waffle bowls, but the ice cream is delicious.

Yelp
I got the gooey butter ice cream and it was good but way too sweet for me. I would go back and try a different flavor.

Yelp
This was my first time having Jeni's and I was so happy I decided to get Ice Cream that day! I saw a bunch of different flavors I had never seen before and I was instantly eye-boggling them, unsure of what to choose. There was a friendly guy who offered my husband and I to sample flavors that we were interested in. He even gave us a little knowledge about each flavor. I ordered 3 flavors in a cup. My favorite was the Lavender flavor! The color was a beautiful pale purple and it's earthly-floral & tangy zesty-ness took me by surprise. My husband enjoyed this peanut butter mixture flavor, and the last flavor we tried was mostly chocolate. All were great, which makes me want to go back to try more! There's also a nice photo-worthy spot right next to Jeni's of a pretty wall painting!

Yelp
The service was fast on the day I went. Typically the lines are long when I drive by. The shop is cute, not too big not too small. The ice cream was delicious, favors I've never heard of. I do wish there were a few more options.

Yelp
Expect a huge line up - they're so busy! The interior of the store smells so buttery and inviting (must be the Buttercrisp waffle cones). We visited around 6 PM on a Saturday, the line was OUT THE DOOR! Flavors ordered: Honey vanilla bean, Milkiest chocolate, Coffee w/ cream and sugar, Brambleberry crisp. All of these flavors were phenomenal, creamy and delicious. Coffee w/ C&S: Delicious, easily the best ice-cream flavor. Did not expect it to be so potent (in a good way) Brambleberry crisp: Loved the tartness of the brambleberry with the sweetness of the ice-cream. Honey vanilla bean: Pretty good, the honey added an extra layer to the vanilla flavor. Milkiest chocolate: Taste reminded me of Nestle hot chocolate, it was alright. Definitely want to go back and try Brown Butter Almond Brittle and Lemon & Blueberry Parfait.

Yelp
What better deal than going to an ice cream place after having dinner at a nearby Hotpot place. We picked Jenni's since it was open past 10pm on a Thursday evening in January 2023. It was pretty crazy how the stars aligned and Washington DC had almost ideal weather in the dead of Winter. I found myself looking at Yelp to see what ice cream shops were open after filling up on Hotpot earlier that evening. We all decided on Jenni's. Since my friend decided to drive us around and paid for dinner that evening, I decided to return the favor and treated everyone in the group with ice cream. My experience here at Jenni's ice cream was pretty spiffy and quick. As soon as I saw the display case of ice cream assorted flavors, spot checked their variations of chocolate ice cream, I knew that was the one. We spent about 10-15 minutes here and it felt like it was quicker. I knew what I wanted and managed to snap up a pint of their dark chocolate concoctions that was as sinful eating it as it was cool and memorable to enjoy. The service here was friendly and good. You can never go wrong with happy employees in an ice cream parlor. For the most part though, the ice cream was great since I had mine at my hotel room while watching the late night local news, while my friends enjoyed theirs in the car before driving from the area. They said it was really good and I will agree with them. The overall experience here at Jenni's Splendid Ice Cream parlor was decisively delicious and very cool. It was nice to see a side of the Washington DC suburbs here in Alexandria, VA. While my friends and I were there, it was past 9pm and it wasn't as busy as we thought it would be. We found parking nearby and walked a block or so to the shop. They had a limited assortment of ice cream flavors, but large enough to really have a rainbow selection of what most people do enjoy. I usually don't try any other flavors since chocolate is my preferred flavor of all time. The ice cream parlor itself is small in nature, but it does bring people together for the love of ice cream. I ended up purchasing the ice cream for my friends, as a nice gesture for thanking them for shuttling me around and for dinner that night. The prices here were on par with other ice cream shops around the country that I have frequented so far. And as such, the experience here at Jenni's Splendid Ice cream has basically got me thinking that this place is a hidden gem of the Alexandria, VA community. You can't go wrong with ice cream. Definitely recommended if you are in the area or just passing thru. Find your OG favorites here or find your new favorite. It's all good! Jenni's Splendid Ice Cream parlor is located in Alexandria, VA. It's physical location is at 102 S Patrick Street, Alexandria. They accept major credit cards, as well as cash. Cash is always king, but love those credit cards. The chocolate ice cream that I had was very good and it really did hit the spot while I was in the area for vacation. I was glad to have been here, especially when my friends and I were almost gonna call it a night when I mentioned when are we going to get ice cream? Then it came to past that night we ended up here and it was only a short drive away from where we were having dinner nearby. As far as parking goes, best bet would be street parking wherever it is available to be honest. Not sure of any other options that that. As far as public transportation, you can check if Alexandria has its own local public bus system or even if the DC metro comes down here. Of course, there's always the Uber and Lyft to get you here as soon as you are able to. They do have seating inside the store for those who want it, but at the same time, social distancing can mean eating inside or outside, depending on the store's current policies on the matter. Come on down, you be glad you did. Honestly, it's the hidden gem of the Alexandria community. 4.5 stars for the overall experience. 5.0 stars for the location and the service. 4.0 stars for the ice cream itself. 3.5 stars for the prices. Support local! B+

Yelp
Not sure why it takes them so long to serve an ice cream, but it took FOREVER to get into the store after standing in line outside, and it was NOT WORTH IT! Both flavors just tasted bad that I had to throw half of it away! I don't know what they hype is all about, definitely over-hyped and over-priced.

Yelp
After just finishing my dinner nearby I instinctively reached for my phone to find Ice Cream. How lucky was I to find Jeni's was just around the corner and a simple walk away. This was a Tuesday night @ 9:00 and when I arrived there was a small line out the door which moved very quickly. I am a big believer in crowd sourcing and saw that everyone had a waffle cone or bowl, and the server said butter cake was the crowd favorite, so my decisions were made! Thanks Jeni's for keeping it simple, enjoyable, and delicious.

Yelp
Anytime we're visiting Alexandria, VA, Jeni's is on our must visit list. My favorite flavor is the goes butter cake. The waffle coins add the finishing touches. The customer service is great and the shop is cute.

Yelp
Good ice cream and pretty good service. I would advise just keeping an eye out for this place when there's not long lines which this place often has. A good place to cool off in a hot day with some quality licks.
