Google
Jeni’s was one of the best ice cream shops I’ve been to. Their waffle cones have a unique flavor like they are homemade. They have an extra bit of sweetness which makes them stand out. I tried the vanilla honey kids size and my daughter and I shared it. It was phenomenal. Not overly sweet, the flavor was really nice. The workers were very nice and helpful. Price was fair for a kids size. I will be back in the future for more.

Google
This ice cream shop has a wonderful offering of unique and classic flavors. The quality of the ice cream is very good and the waffle cone was freshly made, it was nice and crispy without being brittle. The only downside is that when it's hot outside, ice cream starts to perforate through the sides of the waffle cone. I recommend getting both a cup alongside your cone so you don't drip everywhere. I love how this shop uses metal tasting spoons, that's a huge plus for being environmentally conscious especially for a town so close to the sea.All the staff are friendly and can move the line along fast.

Google
We came here 2 nights in a row. We loved the ice cream and especially the butter crisp waffle bowls/cones. Servers were helpful and friendly. We thought the waffle cones were the best we’ve ever had - light and buttery, not thick and hard like ones we’ve had at other parlors. Is a little pricey but I would definitely recommend.

Google
Jeni’s ice cream has always been my favorite ice cream shop in downtown Charleston. I’ve always said that Jeni’s is quality cream and it really shows through in all of their flavors. The quality of ice cream here is unmatched and their unique flavors can’t be beat by any other ice cream place. Jeni’s can be a but pricey but I believe it’s because they use high quality ingredients. Even down to the tasting spoons which are metal and reusable- this entire place gives the impression of good quality ingredients and materials. My favorite flavors are Bramble Berry, Goat Cheese & Cherries, Cream Puff, Birthday Cake, and Darkest Chocolate. Really you can’t go wrong with any of the flavors there! They’re so great!

Google
Although it’s a chain, this is a quality ice cream experience. The flavors are unique, and the approach to ice cream is pure. The napkins even explain their philosophy on taste and texture. The ice cream was creamy and there was no hint of ice crystals. The service was friendly, and you can feel free to taste any flavors -and you might need to given some of the seemingly strange flavors available. A good choice amongst several shops nearby.

Gabriella

Google
Such a delicious ice cream store with a ton of inventive new flavors. Would definitely recommend the Brambleberry Crisp. There wasn’t a line when we went and the service was quick. However, because it was summertime, much of the ice cream was served very soft and melty.

James Flickinger

Google
Best ice cream ever - get the gooey butter cake if you’re a newbie. Try the flavors and try to avoid going when you know it’ll be packed (weekend evenings ie). Staff is always great and cones are homemade and elevate the place even more.

Jay White

Google
Super unique ice cream choices. Had a few samples including a goat cheese and cherries that was actually really good and creamy. I ended up getting the Double Dough, which was rich with a brown sugar ice cream and little bites of cookie dough. The portions were a bit smaller than I would have liked but the flavor more than made up for it.

Yelp
Scoopers were so sweet and were patient with us when we were trying different flavors before we made our purchase. Our absolute favorites were the almond brittle (not too sweet), buttery cake (more on the sweeter side), and the dark chocolate (not so bitter). We came around the time when it wasn't busy, so we were able to avoid long lines, sit indoors, and enjoy our ice cream. Pretty quiet inside!

Yelp
The smell that comes from this ice cream shop is mouth-drooling. The ice cream itself is delicious and comes with a piece of their waffle cone and it is absolutely delicious. The flavors they have to offer are also nothing I have ever seen before. I got - scoop of the Gooey Butter Cake and Vanilla Bean, yummy is the word! If you want a sweet treat I recommend stopping here, but prepare to wait in line (especially in the summer)!
google avatar

Yelp
Burnt orange creamsicle and double dough were sososooOooo good! Get the cone, no questions asked ever as they are homemade and you smell them the second you're in the vicinity of this place. The service was soo nice too - so patient and kind as we asked for a million samples and they were encouraging despite our tough decision of what flavor to get!
google avatar

Sabrina M.

Yelp
Great location. Prices were reasonable. Lots of different flavors but some of the favorites just in case you don't want to try something new.

Rachel J.

Yelp
Long wait, and the AC was broken so it was extremely hot and the ice cream melted super quickly BUT the employees were very helpful and friendly considering the temp. Ice cream was great! Also love that we could sample!
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped at Jeni's during my quick trip to Charleston. My cousin recommended the spot. The ice cream was great, they give you 2 scoops and you can pick 2 different flavors. My only con was it was probably the most expensive ice cream I have ever had, nearly $20 for 2 cones.

Rhonda B.

Yelp
brunt orange ice cream horrible. service worse. I told the employee ice cream was not good. O the it away. She Didn't offer a thing else besides a dirty look. Sorry i went there.
google avatar

Justin J.

Yelp
Great ice cream, and friendly staff! They put up with our requests for endless samples and I appreciated that calorie counts were posted. Absolutely loved my Darkest Dark and Honey Vanilla cone! Well priced for artisan ice cream. J.Ja

Yelp
We went here for a late night sweet treat after dinner. The Gooey Butter Cake was the best ice cream I have ever had. There was so much flavor. I haven't had Jeni's before but knowing that they sell it in-stores means hopefully I can find a place to sell it back home. The service was incredibly quick and we were able to try various ice creams along the way. They did a great job at keeping the line moving on a busy night.
google avatar

Juliette L.

Yelp
Jeni's offers a variety of unique flavors. I know it's ice cream, but I found it too sweet (unpopular opinion). There is always a very long line, but the servers were friendly, gave samples, and tried to keep the line moving, which was nice.
google avatar

Leah C.

Yelp
Jeni's is always good- the brambleberry crisp is my favorite flavor, and I always get it in a cup with the waffle cone piece on the side. This location is always clean and staff are kind. An ice cream break while shopping King street is ALWAYS a good idea!
google avatar

Haley S.

Yelp
Jeni's ice cream is undeniably delicious, but I prefer to just get it at the grocery store in a pint. It's much more economical that way, and that way I am guaranteed to get my favorite flavors (such as gooey butter cake). Very, very nice staff. You can expect a long wait during tourist season, especially on the weekends.
google avatar

Ty D.

Yelp
The music was so loud you couldn't hear anyone and had to yell. No milkshakes at an ice cream place? I'm guessing if they ran a coffee shop they wouldn't sell lattes either.

Joanna C.

Yelp
As someone who can eat ice cream everyday, I was excited to try this highly recommended ice cream shop. Our first night in Charleston we hurried over for some ice cream because it was so hot. There were only 4 flavors to choose from and none were good. It certainly didn't taste like ice cream, more like sherbet and too sweet. Even the waffle cone was not tasty. There are a bunch of young people running the place. Seems like it was a hang out for those who not enter the bars. There were a few tables to sit at, the hallway to the bathroom almost seemed unsafe. Would never return.

Caroline O.

Yelp
The employees are super sweet and do an amazing job! That being said, I've gone 4 times in the last couple months and every time half the flavors are out of stock. The employee told us they were having freezer issues but it is still disappointing. Not their fault, I just hope the managers can help assist them better. I understand this is a super high traffic tourist area but I think they could do better. Again, service is excellent and employees do a great job.
google avatar

Timothy B.

Yelp
Great service great ice cream here! The two young gentleman gave very good service. Price was right. I had the cookie dough ice cream, generous servings too

Yelp
Stopped by for some ice cream after a meal at the Darling Oyster Bar. I ordered the waffle come which I was not a fan of compared to other non-biscuit-based waffle cones. It didn't have a vanilla flavor like The ice cream was not bad. Once again I was not a fan of the gritty texture. The flavor was there for the ice cream. Just wasn't a fan of the texture.

Patty C.

Yelp
It was my first $8 ice cream cone but it was really good. The server at a local restaurant recommended it over their own menu... she was right
google avatar

Kasia C.

Yelp
We stopped here for a late night dessert before heading to the hotel. Right away you can smell the waffle cones & bowls being freshly made in-house. I went for more refreshing berry flavors as opposed to my husband who did the butter/nut flavors. I loved how fast & coordinated the line flow was. They only accept credit cards/apple pay or exact cash - per the sign in the window. There are spots in the back to sit down & eat which is great but the space is overall pretty big (and big enough for us to come in with a double stroller. They close at midnight & are in a good spot on King. Definitely want to come back!

Yelp
I visited this location a couple of days ago and while they still have a nice selection of flavors, the size of the scoops have literally gone from full decent sized scoops to a scoop of ice cream that literally equates to approximately two table spoons of ice cream. While the flavor was really bold and rich the portion size doesn't justify the price. I paid almost 7 dollars for approximately 5 bites of ice-cream. On a positive note, I guess I saved myself some calories.... Additionally there are only about two lactose free flavors and no NSA flavors which is unfortunate.

Yelp
Wonderful ice cream. Humble service. Friendly ambiance. I had lavender and salty caramel. Just delicious!!
google avatar

Dan D.

Yelp
Good lord, what great ice cream. Flavorful, yet balanced; sweet, yet not sugary; served as it just starts to melt. If they had this where I live I'd have it in my rotation.
google avatar

Eleanor A.

Yelp
Wowwww! Any city that there is a jenis, trust me I will be going. I always get their ice cream at the grocery store, but there is seriously nothing like getting it at the physical store. The employees are always so sweet, and they all are very informed about the new flavors etc.
google avatar

Aleena A.

Yelp
Fast service, great aroma of freshly made waffle cones, fresh selection! I tried to the rainbow buttermilk frozen yogurt and it was creamy and tarte. Would have loved to try more! I was there at night and I was a little surprised at the different crowds coming in (I was worried about any large drunk crowds) but everyone was calm and relaxed.

Yelp
I was strolling in downtown Charleston perusing the stores when I stumbled across this place. After walking in the 98 degree and intense humidity, this place was sent by heaven . When it comes to ice cream flavors, I normally tend to gravitate to the most common and popular flavors, I laid my eyes on this enchanting color, lavender! Why not! Let's give it a go! And I must say, I will look for this flavor all the time. The "Wildflower Lavender"; HEAVENLY PS: You pay for two scoops; I ate the first scoop of ice cream () so on this picture you only see the bottom scoop.

Yelp
Not sure how you could go wrong at this place unless you went Everything Bagel flavored ice cream. Yikes not for me. Had the gooey butter cake and it was awesome and definitely would go back again and again. There was no line but it was only 3:30 in the afternoon. The place was packed on the weekend. There are a few tables to sit at and enjoy your ice cream as you watch the masses of people go by on King street. Overall two thumbs ip for ice cream.
google avatar

Nicholas G.

Yelp
Always like checking out the popular ice cream spots in any town. They have a modern aesthetic and a good product. It was a good spot and you can tell they know what they are doing. A lot of different flavors and you can't go wrong!

Yelp
Jeni's Ice Cream is celebrated for its unique and innovative flavors, offering a delightful twist on traditional ice cream. Their commitment to quality ingredients and creative combinations results in a memorable taste experience. While generally adored for its distinct flavors, some patrons mention the pricing as a consideration. Nonetheless, Jeni's stands out as a premium choice for ice cream enthusiasts looking for an extraordinary treat.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Love Jeni's, great ice cream. Such great variety and taste sooo good.. we've been at Tampa, Lincoln Park and now SC
google avatar

Sally G.

Yelp
Jenis is one of my favorite ice cream places in Charleston, not only because of the funky flavors, but also because they have delicious dairy free options, and they don't really taste much different than their other Dairy-ful ice creams. My favorite is cold brew with coconut cream. I still get their bramble berry crunch, because it's worth the upset stomach. Their cones are made in house and you can smell them just passing by. Jenis often get different flavors, so they have a couple flavors they never get rid of but still some seasonal surprises. Only bad thing about them is the same for all things in downtown, dreadful parking, also expect a pretty long line during the summer.
google avatar

Daniela Z.

Yelp
Finding an ice cream spot that sells vegan ice cream is like finding gold! I got to enjoy the lemon bar vegan ice cream in a sugar cone -- sooo good! It had bits of the bar that tasted like cake better, and it was the perfect mixture of sweet ice cream with lemony refreshment.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Visited with some friends while we were in Charleston and was pleasantly surprised to find that this ice cream shop has dairy-free/vegan options (and as someone who is allergic to eggs, sometimes looking for vegan is the only way for me to be sure I won't be ill afterwards). They also have some labeling on their ice creams that helps with allergens, and they do have some egg-free normal ice creams as well! When I mentioned to the scooper that I was allergic to eggs (because I was taking a bit of time reading the tags, LOL), they actually went to the back and got a freshly cleaned scoop and changed gloves for me, which was absolutely above and beyond service! It was such a thoughtful gesture when there are still lots of places that treat people with food allergies and dietary restrictions as a nuisance, so I really cannot rate the service highly enough :) A++! The ice cream was lovely as well! I got the Dark Chocolate and the Frosé flavors, and both were quite nice. I'm not sure if the Frosé actually takes like Rosé and Sangria or not (I also don't drink), but it was subtly fruity, floral, and not too sweet and I would definitely get it again if I find a Jeni's closer to where I live. The Dark Chocolate was deep, dark, and very much hit this chocoholic's sweet spot--had things worked out differently on the trip, I would have been back for a second helping!

Yelp
The second you walk in, you're transported to your happy place! Ingredients are amazing and ambiance is great!

Yelp
Came in after having a nice dinner downtown and I will say this Jeni's is pretty big! There is plenty of seating and cute items for sale. I ended up getting two scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone. I got the high five candy bar and the rainbow buttermilk frozen yogurt. Loved both flavors, very sweet and refreshing during a hot summer day. Service was very quick which is great. Overall 10/10!
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful ice cream. Charleston location was clean and lovely inside. The associate was very friendly and suggestive of the new flavors. Highly suggest readers give this ice cream a try. It is definitely worth the caloric hit.
google avatar

Hayden-Anne B.

Yelp
The best ice cream around! I love the gooey butter cake flavor with their freshly made waffle cones. Perfect for cooling off after a long walk on King Street exploring Charleston.
google avatar

Sheila R.

Yelp
Cute, shop with the most amazing aromas experienced as soon as you open the door...yum!!! Fresh waffle cones baking...that sets the tone for your flavor choices. Ok, so dollar for dollar, I should have just gone with my gut...the 10 sampler sounded decadent and delicious. And I would have gotten to taste even more flavors!!! Settled on the wild berry lavender, middle east pecan and whiskey, and cognac with gingerbread. All were flavorful and different. Snagged some pumpkin, brown butter almond brittle, peppermint, dark chocolate....loved them all.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a delight. This is an easy and delicious treat to end an evening with the family. Highlight is easily the variety and quality of flavors they have. I enjoy trying different ones and most recently had the Darkest Chocolate, Skillet Cinnamon Roll, and Brambleberry. I'd try almost anything they have (goat cheese and cheery seems out there, but give it a go). Pricing is reasonable and I find it easy to split a triple with my wife and get a variety of flavors.
google avatar

Shayna K.

Yelp
Stop looking and get to Jeni's. The flavors are outrageously good and diverse. These are flavors you won't find elsewhere. Tough to find a seat but well worth it anyway. We had a tough time deciding.
google avatar

Rod C.

Yelp
One of the ice cream ladies told me the line was to the left, but I was only looking at all of the flavors because there was a guy sampling g all of the flavors. Wasn't there a Curb episode about this topic? I said forget that I went to the better ice cream shop down the street.
google avatar

Hannah W.

Yelp
This was the perfect sweet stop to finish our weekend trip to Charleston! I have always wanted to try Jeni's, having heard great things, and this was the first time I've been near enough one to go. Even on a chilly February evening, the place was crowded but the line moved along at a reasonable pace. Besides, I needed plenty of time to think about all the amazing flavors and try to decide what to get! I wound up choosing a scoop of Salted Peanut Butter and a scoop of Darkest Chocolate in one of their homemade waffle cones. I hadn't planned to get a cone, but they smelled so wonderfully fresh from the moment we walked in the door that I couldn't resist. Both flavors were delicious and were aptly described. The Darkest Chocolate was my favorite- it was so rich and nicely balanced by the saltiness of the Peanut Butter. The waffle cone, while unique, was actually a bit too salty for my taste. I would have preferred a sweeter flavor with more vanilla tones. However, it was crisp and perfectly fresh. There was a small seating area in the back where we were able to find a table, but on a warm day I could imagine walking along the lovely streets enjoying a cone.
google avatar

Adaeze E.

Yelp
We stopped by Jeni's for dessert after dinner. I had the milkiest chocolate and coffee with cream and sugar flavors which I thoroughly enjoyed. I loved that the flavors we're both rich and creamy. It was really cold outside so we sat inside on the bench by the door as we ate our ice cream. I really liked that there was some kind of seating inside. I'll visit again when next I'm in town.
google avatar

Silas J.

Yelp
Wonderful flavors!!! My personal favorite was the berry lavender. They have classic flavors with a twist (strawberry buttermilk, honey vanilla) the texture was creamy and so soft. Loved the service everyone was super nice. Only downside is it's a very very small and noisy place, very popular and they deserve to expand to serve more.
google avatar

Rachel F.

Yelp
Delicious, unique ice cream flavors, and they even opened new tubs of ice cream to protect me from allergens since I have celiac disease. Wonderful place! I loved the salted peanut butter and the wildberry lavender.
google avatar

Rashid M.

Yelp
Delicious ice-cream! I had the Wildberry Lavender flavor and it was so good! And the waffle cone was awesome too. I really hope that Jeni's opens up a location in New York City!
google avatar

Alexis P.

Yelp
Best ice cream I've ever had!! Friendly masked-up staff, quick service, amazing flavor options, delicious ice cream and waffle cones, and lots of seating and cute vibes inside! I got a waffle cone with 1/2 scoop of the high five candy bar and 1/2 scoop of the gooey butter cake. It was life changing. SO GOOD. I will most definitely need to come back and try the other flavors. It's delicious and simple ice cream that's just different. On top of that, this was literally cheaper than coldstone and way yummier (and I'm a huge coldstone fan)!
google avatar

Heidi J.

Yelp
My friends in Charlotte always post about Jeni's and I've seen it in the grocery store, so I figured I'd give it a try. They had 11 flavors to choose from which is a decent amount. I was really excited to get a waffle cone but they didn't have any. I really like that you can get two half scoops instead of one big scoop! I got the gooey butter cake and coffee with cream and sugar flavors. They were both delicious! My husband got the milkiest chocolate and salted peanut butter. Overall, it is really good ice cream...I'm just comparing it to my favorite place back home in North Carolina so I have to only give it four stars.
google avatar

Ashley V.

Yelp
LOVED MY ICE CREAM. It's a convenient location on king street. Maybe after dinner or shopping. I will say the only complaint is this single cone with a tip was $9. But this flavor was absolutely fantastic (brambleberry crisp). Lots of flavor options at jenis and cute window seating for you and a friend or two!
google avatar

Kim C.

Yelp
The sweetest aroma takes you away the second you walk in the door. You are at the point of no return then. We were greeted with a smile from the server as she made the fresh waffle cones. A small line, but it moved fairly quick. Reasonable prices. You can get one scoop but still get two flavors if you would like. I will definitely go back. It was truly delicious. You need to try it and I know you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Emma P.

Yelp
If you like ice cream you will love Jeni's! Be prepared to queue but it's worth it for the fantastic quality and creative flavors.
