Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

Located within the McEwen Northside district, Jenni’s Splendid Ice Creams is a freestanding building endcapping the central area of a small shopping, dining, and park area. During peak hours, expect a decent line. They have two banks of the same flavors and serve by the half scoop so you can try multiple flavors. They also provide free samples on actual mini spoons rather than disposable spoons so you try before making your final selections. Flavors rotate and also change seasonally. However they don’t always have vanilla and we had to buy our little one a pint which they give you in a sealable insulated bag. The sprinkles don’t have an artificial coloring which I appreciate. Read their napkins to see the pride they take in making their ice creams. They have free water and a good amount of outdoor seating.

Nice place with various flavours with egg and eggless options. There are seasonal flavours as well. Currently there is one flavour called Popcorn and its great !

I have a tree nut allergy. Richie and Bella were very accommodating, and they even went through the trouble of getting me safe samples. I never get to sample ice creams because of my allergy. I felt so important and safe. I will be recommending this place to everyone, especially my friends with dietary restrictions!

The dairy-free Texas sheet cake ice cream is absolutely incredible!!

Ice cream was mid, but the price was a wopping 13 dollars for 2 standard scoops. Definitely overpriced for the taste, but good ice cream

Jeni's has the best vegan ice cream. Its so creamy and delicious for being diary free. I also love that they have gluten free options as well. The staff at this location was very professional and knew what was in each flavor. We will definitely be back. The only downside is that parking can be hard at this location when it's super busy, so it can take a while to find a parking spot.

The ice cream is always really good from Jeni’s. We tried this new location and it was really nice outside. The scoops aren’t as big as other locations (3 scoops looked like 2) and the waffle cones were super crumbly but the ice cream itself was yummy.

Fabulous fresh ice cream with fun flavors. I had coffee with cream and powdered jelly donut in a cup. My husband tried the fluffernutter pie and butter cake. All were yummy! Lots of choices and samples. Homemade waffle cone too! Wish we had one in our town.

Great location with lots of restaurants near by and plenty of parking with two garages near by or street parking. (Parking is free). The have outside tables and in a park like setting that attracts families with small children. Always seems to be a long wait for ice cream and upon each visit they seem to be out of something. This recent visit, they were only taking credit, said their waffle machine was broken, and couldn't print receipts. I think given the crowd and only 3 employees working they probably didn't have the time or energy to make waffle cones or refill the register with receipt. Bummer as I missed getting my reward points. Will stick to the factory Jeni's for future visits.

Jeni's is the best ice cream I've ever had, truly. Is it cheaper to find their pints on sale at Publix, Kroger, or Target? Sure. BUT sometimes it's just a fun treat to go sample a bunch of the seasonal flavors and get a waffle cone or mix of flavors. Their staff members are typically super kind and informative. This location is cute, clean, and bright. Close to the interstate too, if you're commuting and just need a sweet treat at the end of a long day! I love that there is a fun outdoor area next to this shop if you want to enjoy nice weather as well.

My wife and I strolled over after dinner at Neighbors. We've been to Jenni's before at a different location. We each ordered a scoop of ice cream. I got mine in a bowl, and my wife got hers in a cone bowl. The ice cream itself was great but for $16 you'd expect more than a half a scoop of ice cream in each bowl. Not sure if it was the server or the new norm, but will not return to this location.

Ice Cream was great, service was fine BUT I have to say this new way of paying, server puts it in your face, and big and bold is a TIP. You feel obligated to give a tip to a person who is just doing their job, probably at $20.00/ hour. Prices are so much higher than a year ago!!

Visited August 05, 2023. Any time my family is in Franklin, we just have to swing by and grab a bite to fulfill our sweet tooth craving. Of all the Jeni's locations, this is my favorite. There's ample outdoor seating, street parking and a parking garage behind the adjacent building (navigate behind North Italia to find it). Jeni's is located right on the lawn, you cannot miss it! Inside is small with limited seating and a restroom in the back. They have a wide selection to choose from and pints to take home! My favorite has to be the 'High Five candy bar' - chocolate bits, salty, crunchy from the pretzels, and caramel swirls within. They're also have few limited dairy free options for vegans. Service here is hit and miss. The male staff seems nicer. I've had two encounters with the female staff where they just stared, didn't greet my family at all, and went straight into 'you know what you want?' However that doesn't bother me as much as not having a receipt. The many times I've visited the charges always change even though we get the same thing. After being rung up, my husband had a single scoop on a cake cone once versus full double so I mentioned the change but it was still the same price according the the cashier. That was a little frustrating because he was confused and seemed to spit out that answer so we can move along. Other than the receipt thing I have no real complaints! Since the pandemic has passed they allow samples now so I'm sure everyone can find exactly what you want!

Kids and husband came after another enjoyable dessert run after dinner. Husband got the pineapple upside down cake ice cream which he recommends. My daughter and son shared wild berry lavender, buckeye frenzy, and also the pineapple ice cream. It made them super happy. No line when we came on Saturday around 6 pm, but then a whole bunch of people came after. Bathrooms are clean! I highly recommend this location we come to when we are in Brentwood.

Came here ice cream. The servers behind the counter were not personable at all making the experience less pleasant. Ice cream was good but employees really make the difference in the restaurant industry.

This place is absolutely a cute place for a delicious ice cream. This is local brand and there ice cream is one of the best I have tasted lately. They do have different kind of flavors compared to other franchises. They do make fresh waffles cup and cones on site then and there. You can smell delicious waffle as soon as you enter. I am not a chocolate fan so I always try different flavors. We took gooey butter ice cream and almond brittle icecream and loved it. There service is quick and fast too. They provide you nice samples so you can taste and choose what you like so you won't get disappointed after you buy it. My fav is Gooey butter icecream and I would definitely recommend it. Gooey butter cake- 5/5 Almond brittle - 4/5 Vanilla bean - 4/5

Jeni's any location is fine by me. This is a small stand alone but the same friendly servers offering samples and serving up great ice cream. Perfect conclusion for an evening out, it's situated on a nice green space area. Enjoy!

Jeni's is always the favorite ice cream place in town for is to go. I'm loving that they keep expanding their footprint and making it easier to spread the best ice cream around! This particular store is small, modern, and very nice on the inside. A lot of seating right outdoors in a fun up-and-coming area. Employees were nice as always at Jeni's locations. The ice cream: I got Banana Brûlée, Blackout chocolate cake, and Ooey Gooey butter cake. Not a very colorful set of ice cream, but the taste would knock anyones socks off. The blackout chocolate is exactly how it sounds... deep dark chocolate with a bitterness to it. The gooey butter cake is always my favorite and is buttery, sweet, and delicious. The banana brûlée is like a bananas foster dessert! Overall, I love coming to new ice cream places, and I know Jeni's never disappoints. Give it a go!

Wow, this ice cream is the business! My family and I were in the area and decided to indulge our sweet tooth. Originally, I wasn't going to get anything, just share some with my wife. But just the smell of ice cream and fresh cones in air was enough for me to order my own. They have both cones and cups. I ordered the Brown Butter Almond Brittle and my wife got the salty caramel and Texas sheet ice cream in a cone. I will say my ice cream had the better flavor, but that chocolate sheet cake ice cream was rich, creamy and delicious. Would you believe is dairy free?! Buttercream ice cream with brown butter almond candy intermixed?! This ice cream was decedent a very addictive. Thankfully, I only ordered one scoop! The Jeni's menu is truly unique with flavors like goat cheese red cherry and lemon blueberry parfait, to name a few. Definitely,worth a try if you're looking for a fresh take on an old favorite.

The building deserves 5 stars. Its a cool looking place. The staff 3-4 stars. Overall pretty kind and attentive. The ice cream just wasn't good. In fairness I only tried one flavor. I do consider myself a persnickety ice cream eater but tonight i stuck with the basics and got milky chocolate in a waffle bowl. I read the label really carefully, I thought. It had a very strong peanut butter taste. I thought it was extremely odd. I was very clear in ordering. It looked totally like chocolate ice cream, but tasted like peanut butter. Maybe she gave me the wrong kind but i swear she scooped it out of the chocolate bowl. The waffle bowl had a STRONG salt taste. I thought maybe my taste buds were tricking me, so I got a family member to taste it. Yep, strong salt flavor. She almost spit it out. It didn't go well with a waffle bowl and ice cream. Will not go back. Its too expensive to risk it being bad.

Went to Jeni's on Saturday, January 16th, 2021 around 9 pm. Even for a chili winter evening, if you're craving for sweet dessert, Jeni's is the place to go. Located in a very convenient center of McEwen Northside neighborhood, you can't miss it. Due to COVID, there's no ice cream sampling unfortunately. Jeni's ice cream flavors are quite unique compared to other ice cream places. Perhaps go to Tiff's Treats next door to get some cookies to complement your Jeni's ice cream scoop.

Everyone working at jennis was soo helpful!! Especially (he's a red head male) absolutely nice and I sampled various ice cream flavors he was soo nice and efficient!

TERRIBLE PLACE with terrible people working there! So we loaded our family into the suv on the evening of the holiday Memorial Day to go out for an overpriced dessert... we got parked & walked to the building about 5:45pm... sadly the doors were locked! they had a sign on the front door - some nonsense about being closed to give their water a break! no indication on how long this break was going to last... saw & made eye contact with a couple of employees inside the building... but they quickly looked away & ignored our request to find out what was going on or how long it would be until they reopened... went somewhere else & got a better product for a better price - i suggest you do the same!

Amazing area and amazing ice cream! Smells heavenly inside, so we knew the ice cream was going to be great. Highly recommend the Gooey Butter Cake! My sister got the Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks, and really enjoyed hers too.

Open late! Quick service even when crowded, don't let a line deter you. Ask for a sample of one you wouldn't normally try, you'll be surprised. They work hard on flavor profile so why not see if you have an interest beyond chocolate or vanilla. This evening I enjoyed pairing the tart and floral blend of Wildberry Lavender with the sweetness of Honey Vanilla.

This place is like Heaven!!!!!! The staff is wonderful!!! The ice cream is from Heaven!!!! Everything should be like this!!!! Best place in Franklin McEwen!!!!!

Went by Jeni's to grab a couple scoops. Saw the line and was hesitant but I went for it anyways and was definitely worth it. Only waited about 10 minutes and had tons of options on what to order. I got the Brackleberry and the salted peanut butter. Probably would've gotten a cone instead of a bowl but didn't change the ice cream taste. The best way to describe it was just fresh and very milky. I will 100% be back again!

This was a cute location but the inside is closed for seating currently. We got there last night and had to eat in our cars because it was raining. We'll return some other time when there is better weather. I got a small bowl of their wild berry lavender ice cream. It was so good especially if you're a fan of lavender anything. It was sweet but slightly tart from the wild berries. Was also surprised it came with a waffle wedge. What a nice touch and a crispy treat. Can't wait to come again soon to try other flavors.

Nice location in a trendy area. Ice cream was very flavorful with well balanced, not overly sweet. I like that the waffle cones aren't super sweet like other places, helps keep the focus of the flavor on the ice cream.

Their ice cream is absolutely phenomenal. So good, and reasonably priced. So why the horrible review? Have you ever been to a restaurant where you're made to feel not as a welcomed guest, but as a pariah? That is the reason for this review. I don't know that I'll be back. First, their indoor dining room is still closed "due to Covid" (they may be the only food establishment in the entire county that still has the dining room closed) Four of us went in and bought four ice cream cones for $25. Since the indoor area was still closed we went outside to sit at one of the 7 or so outdoor tables that were there. None of them were occupied save for one being used for a job interview. Each table had 3 chairs each and as I mentioned there were four of us. So I said "I'll grab a chair." Immediately the employee at the adjacent table conducting the interview interjected. "Ummmmm we prefer you leave the chairs alone as they're extremely heavy." This quote does not accurately reflect her tone of voice, but clearly we were the worst part of her entire day. I smiled and said "I promise I will put it back." I grabbed the chair and carried it (easily with one arm) to our table. The employee rolled her eyes and said to the the job-seeker "I'm so sorry, I completely lost my train of thought." Myself and everyone I was with just looked at each other and couldn't believe that actually just happened. It's not even so much about their preference (albeit ridiculous) that all chairs remain with their associated tables, but simply the way we're were treated and scolded like misbehaving children. Bad form Jenni's. ps. I moved your chair back so no harm done.

First: I love the ice cream at all Jeni's locations. It's amazing! However, we had an awful experience at this one due to their covid restrictions and the way the employees "enforce" them. We brought friends from out of town there last night (who were so excited to try it), and Jeni's is not allowing for indoor seating. We had a 3 month old baby with our group and it was freezing cold and drizzling rain outside. Since there was no one else in the restaurant except the employees and our group we hoped they would let stand in the corner and eat our ice cream indoors. NOPE. The employee rudely told us we had to leave and sit outside. My friend kindly asked if we could stay until we finished our ice cream (and pointed out her newborn baby). The employee said no still and kicked us out pointing out they had an outdoor table we could use. You couldn't even sit outside despite the cold weather because everything was covered in rain. I understand that they have to "enforce" the corporate policy, but the employee could do so in a friendlier way. It's ridiculous that on a night like that we couldn't stay for another few minutes. There's no need to be rude. Just be aware that if you go here right now, you're signing up to be kicked out as soon as you get your ice cream. There are also no samples. And the employees treat you more like they are moving you through an assembly line then the typical "fun and friendly" Jeni's experience.

They refused my service dog and suggested I use the takeout window, but the takeout window is only for Delivery app orders. The High school workers that work there said that my Service dog can't come in. I was by myself and couldn't get someone else to watch him

Amazing ice cream , modern and clean shop and easy parking. There is a small grassy area outside to sit when weather permits. Wonderful location.

I've been a fan of Jeni's for years! The buttercream birthday cake, brambleberry crisp, sweet cream biscuits and peach jam, and brandied banana brûlée are all flavors that I've ordered several times before. The wildberry lavender tastes just like froot loops and it's one of my favorites. The greatest flavor of all time, though, was their bangkok peanut. I've only ever seen it on their menu once, but I took 5-6 pints home after sampling a bite. The only flavor they've ever had that I don't like is the everything bagel one. One of my favorite ice cream spots - love that I'm seeing more of their products in grocery stores across Michigan!

The ice cream is great. Coffee nondairy was a little icy on top. I expect that was because it wasn't eaten often. I got the take home pints. The parking close to the shop is minimal unless you want to go into the parking structure.

We are in from out of town visiting family and we were told by many people that we needed to go to Jeni's while we were here. The location is cute, there is a fire pit, a fountain, fun chairs and grassy area - very family friendly. We were disappointed by the service, although we were the only ones there the servers made us feel rushed to order and seemed annoyed by our questions. There were many unique flavors and we wished we had time to look at all before choosing. The flavors that we did choose were good, we had salted caramel, darkest chocolate, and sweet cream almond toffee. They also do not allow samples right now. Overall, the ice cream was good, but it's not a must-stop.

Went in earlier. First of all, I hate writing negative reviews. I came and brought my cousins who just immigrated from India (wanted to show them how good Jeni's ice cream is) but had a rather disappointing experience. My cousins ordered in english with their naturally thick accents and the two workers aiding us started laughing, grinning in front! of our eyes!!! and holding back as much as they could, making it seem like they were making fun of my cousin's accents. I was astounded by this. There is no way these people were laughing at their accents! I mean, decency is so basic. Very disappointed.

Ice cream was way too sweet - didn't know that was even possible with ice cream. Business environment inside is not customer friendly: They haven't adjusted their business to the updated science per the CDC. We also saw political related material inside which was inappropriate. We would not go back here again. Overall, Hattie Janes is much better.

Jeni's has delicious ice cream and a unique assessment of flavors for everyone's taste buds. It is the best ice cream!

I'm a big fan of this location. Love their flavor choices. My only complaint is that they're still not doing free samples because of health concerns.

Garbage legit hot garbage there only flavor that is half decent is vanilla everything else is legit throw up and workers are pesky and nasty.

Our whole family loves Jeni's. We have tried so much ice cream but Jeni's is our favorite! All of the workers so far have been kind and helpful. The design of the shop is adorable as well! The ice cream is all natural and tastes unbelievable. Definitely recommend!

AMAZING!!! Incredible service!! The ice cream is delicious and the shop looks clean! I was having a really rough day and the workers gave me a few extra waffle wedges (my fav!!) and it really brightened my day!! I will 100% be coming back!! They are worth every cent!!:)))
