Cute place for an ice cream treat! This addition to Montrose is in the epicenter and a bit tough to park at. Plenty of parking for an establishment in these parts (gravel) but nonetheless, difficult to get into if it's at a peak time. Long line out the door, nbd--must be really good, right?! We brought our kids to enjoy themselves. I felt like we were (almost) annoying people with their presence. Hilarious! Ok, I get it. This is not Memorial or West U. This is the hip part of Houston. Anyway, Jeni's is quite clean and spacious inside and out, with a plethora of interesting flavors. No mix-ins. Delicious waffle cones (and bowls). Free small waffle cones for the kids. We had the 10-flavor flight so we could all try a little bit of their top picks. I'd say my personal favorite was the milkiest chocolate (the darkest chocolate was too bitter for my taste), the brambleberry crisp (such a lovely combo between a berry-like jam and crumbles), brown butter almond brittle and gooey butter cake. My kids loved the rainbow buttermilk frozen yogurt. There are a TON of other flavors that I have yet to try, which I'm sure there are several that would have my taste buds screaming with joy (hello, cookies & cream!). Offering pints to-go is a major plus! Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because, truth be told, I didn't think this was the absolute creamiest, delectable ice cream I've ever had. Creamistry holds that spot in my heart! Maybe it's because this is a chain and the original is in Cleveland. Still a solid option, but I also LOVE having mix-ins as an option. And milkshakes... and affogato. LOL.
Here's what was in our ice cream flight, for reference to the picture: rainbow buttermilk frozen yogurt, coffee with milk & sugar, darkest chocolate, honey vanilla bean, brown butter almond brittle, gooey butter cake, lemon bar, brambleberry crisp, wildberry lavender, and salty caramel.
