"The western suburbs are getting one of the area’s most popular ice cream shops. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams plans to open a new scoop shop in Oakbrook Center this summer, a rep says, with patio seating and a waffle cone-making station." - Daniel Gerzina

Cute little ice cream shop in Oak Brook mall. It is right next to Nando's restaurant and AMC theater. Lots of flavors to choose from. Some nice flavors like lemon blueberry parfait. Not a lot of seating inside the restaurant, there is more seating outside too. The cost is reasonable.

Jeni’s is one of the few places that closes later in the Oakbrook mall. We were immediately greeted by the employee. He showed enthusiasm with helping us. The place was clean. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Prices were fair considering it’s in the mall. We got two scoops each. Flavors we tried were brambleberry crisp, skillet cinnamon roll, sweet potato marshmallow brulee, and wildberry lavender. Personally, I’m not a fan of lavender but it was subtle, mostly tasted the wildberry. The other flavors were very good. Not too sweet.

Google
Clean store. Bright space. Outdoor seating. Friendly staff. There's typically a line, but the wait is 10 mins or less. There are 6 to 8 flavors to choose from and ypu can sample them all if ypu wish. They have unique flavors and you can get them with a waffle cone if you choose. They have vegan based ice cream too.

Google
The ice cream here is unlike any other. They have delicious flavors that are rich and creamy. My only issue is that the the portion-cost ratio is insane and the prices have gone up significantly over the years. The staff is always rushed and makes you feel like they just want you out, but I guess its worth it for good yet expensive ice cream? The coffee with cream and sugar and the boston cream are my personal favorites. The location is also great for after a light dinner or some shopping.

The food is so good! Wildberry lavender pairs well with everything, and the servers are nice. 11/10

Coming during the week in the middle of the day is the best. Very little lines and super fast service. The girls are always sweet with letting my kids try flavors. They help the kids with putting spoons away as well. We love Jeni’s for the dairy free flavors they carry. My kids absolutely love them. The dairy flavors are luscious and creamy. You’ll never get that icy over frozen thing here The waffle cones are also the best, and we love adding it to our ice cream. One day, I’ll try that 10 flavor flight. 🤩

My husband is allergic to gluten. So here you can find delicious gluten-free and dairy-free ice creams. Also the staff is great. Our favorite place to get ice cream as a family.

One of the beat icecreams I've ever eaten!!!!!! I wish I could get this in London:(

Yelp
This was a good place pop in even on the cold that it was. Cheerful inside as mist ice cream shops are. They have their philosophy of ice cream on the napkins. I enjoyed reading the way they describe the process. It made me look at ice cream differently. I opted for the butter cake cuz why not?! Scoops were 2 small ones that equal a scoop which was fine for me. It came with a little wafer triangle which was delicious. I would get the bowl! Best part was you can sample the flavors and they give you a real spoon. The young lady that served us was very nice and patient as we were in awe of the various flavors.

Abbigale T.

Yelp
Jeni's is always a great place to stop for a scoop! My absolute favorite is the gooey butter cake! Smells great and tastes even better. Staff was very friendly

Sherwin C.

Yelp
Consistently excellent, Jeni's provides truly splendid ice cream across all of their locations and this location is no different. With more seating available than some other locations and a long display of ice cream, I feel that this location benefits from being able to serve patrons faster and in a more methodical way (versus a wrapping line in a smaller store). This store also benefits from plenty of seating inside and outside, so that it's easier to enjoy a casual conversation while eating ice cream rather than trying to find a place nearby to eat the delicious treat. Prices are a little higher at Jeni's, but the unique flavors available here as well as the consistency in the quality of their flavors justifies this. They are generally not too sweet, creamy, and full of high quality ingredients. Definitely make sure to try the brambleberry crisp if you've never had it.

Rod D.

Yelp
I can't say enough about Jeni's ice cream... This is our fifth location we've visited and time in and time out, great ice cream ALWAYS! I love the fact that they not only have great ice cream options, non dairy selection, and a variety of cone options, they also have a great frequent buyer program via their app. They promote new flavors and great deals on their app and email drip campaigns. The service is always open and inviting. The lines are usually busy but steadily moving. The environment is always popping since the ice cream usually makes people happy. Can't wait to go back

Ryan D.

Yelp
My husband and I visited Jeni's Splendid Ice l Creams looking for dessert after having dinner at another restaurant at Oakbrook Center shopping mall. It took a long time to get there, having to walk through a large section of the mall. But the trip was worth it. We got three scoops of premium ice cream. We got salty peanut butter with chocolate flecks, cinnamon roll skillet, and brown butter almond brittle. All of the flavors were really good, and the friends that we took were happy with their ice cream selections as well. I definitely recommend Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams. I will be back to try more of their specialty flavors.

Yelp
This is a really cute little ice cream shop. There are quite a few delicious flavors to choose from. My husband loves peanut butter so it was very easy for him to choose the salted peanut butter with chocolate. I could not pick a flavor so I ended up buying the $7 Pumpkin Cake Roll Pint to take home with me to enjoy later. We will definitely be back!

Robyn T.

Yelp
Different but yummy ice cream flavors. I got the ooey gooey butter cake. Loved it Tasted a flavor but my second taste was the one I chose

Christy M.

Yelp
I'm not sure if I'd seen this place before but we actually tried it today. It was FANTASTIC. There was a short line to wait to get into the building. Once you started ordering the employees are very helpful. I got The Standard (two scoops). I ordered Salty Caramel and Ooey Gooey Butter Cale. Hubby got Lemon Bar and Buttermilk & Peach Jam. The Lemon Bar tasted exactly like a Lemon Bar. Tony said the other flavor was too sweet. Personally, I enjoyed both my flavors and would order both again. I was surprised there was no Birthday Cake flavor. Overall I would absolutely return. I asked Hubby what he would rate this place and without hesitation he said five stars and I agree!

Quincee C.

Yelp
The ice cream flavors and made in house waffle cones are wonderful! They offer small sampling spoons, to try before you decide.

Siobhan D.

Yelp
Located very conveniently, just steps from the AMC movie theatre, no wait, and so many incredible flavors to choose from! This ice cream is delicious, but also super pricey! We each got a single scoop (2 small scoops) in a dish, I think $6.75 each, plus tax, then 3 pre-packaged pints to go. It came to $50!! Yikes. Plus tip! This will be a very rare treat, due to the price, but I'll definitely return. Staff was friendly. Shop is super clean. Masks required, which is appreciated.

Andrew B.

Yelp
Very friendly, helpful, positive staff. The ice cream was amazing, and even the smell of it when you walk in basically grabs you right away.

Adriana F.

Yelp
Celebrating my Birthday with my son. Best dessert after a great meal. Always creamy, delicious ice cream and fresh cones.

Century S.

Yelp
I am not an icecream person at all. I enjoy few Spoons from my hubby bowl. Icecream here was so so good, I ate almost way more icecream than I ever have. Loved it!

Shirley P.

Yelp
It's my first time at this Jeni's location. I came with Alvina aka Vee shortly after our dinner at Nando's next door. The staff was friendly and welcoming. It's cold in the Chicagoland area, and we both wanted a treat. Who says ice cream is for summer only. Ever since I moved to Oak Lawn, I have 0 Jeni's in my area, so I had to make it a mission. I went with my go to flavors, the darkest chocolate and the Texas sheet cake both on a waffle bowl. I also completely blanked on scanning my app, and thankfully the staff was willing to print me my receipt so I can scan the barcode for points. I'm so used to clicking no receipt, and I didn't remember I have the Jeni's app just sitting on my phone with no locations nearby. Jeni's if you're seeing this, please come to the Chicago south suburbs. I can only find the pints at the local grocery store if I'm lucky. So far, I've been to the locations in Chicago's Old Town, Wicker Park, Wrigleyville, Southport, and now this one. It's truly a great experience each time. I can speak enough great things about the Jeni's chain overall, it's been consistently amazing whether it be a pint or a scoop in person, and the service is also consistent. I've never had an experience that I didn't truly love. Kudos to Jeni's for executing at such a high level, and I love the clever new flavors every time. I love the allergy friendly options too. There's something for everyone. You'll have to come see for yourself, and it's definitely worth the hype.

Zeid S.

Yelp
Great ice cream place in oak brook center. The place is actually pretty big with lots of seating space inside and out. Lots of delicious flavors. Prices are reasonable especially for the trio. Highly recommended if in oak brook center and craving for ice cream.

Bailey M.

Yelp
I love Jeni's and am excited it's finally in the suburbs. They aren't doing samples right now with covid which is a bummer since their favors can be too much for me. All of their ice creams have an extreme amount of flavor. Normally I get vanilla for one scoop to offset how much flavor is in my other scoop. This time I got the salted peanut butter chocolate specs ice cream and the gooey butter-cake icebreaker, it was pretty good. I love that they give you fresh waffle cone pieces when you get a bowl.

Celia W.

Yelp
The flavors are delicious but it seems like all of them are just some kind of chocolate or vanilla. Once in a while, something like sweet potato or lemon makes it out. The waffle cone/cups are on the salty side - almost as if they were made with salted butter (the kind you use on your toast). The mall is half dead on weekdays, so it's very quite. Jeni's is in the new food atrium with the nice restrooms so that's a plus.

Anam A.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times while shopping at Oakbrook mall (this ice cream shop is located amongst restaurants & stores). The interior is really bright and cute! Ice cream is delicious (my favorite flavor is the salted peanut butter with chocolate flecks), flavors are plentiful, but, like other reviewers are saying, it's definitely on the pricier side. The only downside is that the workers aren't the friendliest.. each time, they haven't acknowledge us walking in and they just seem bored and annoyed.

Lisa S.

Yelp
What is cold, cures cravings, and combines creamy with crunchy? Deliciously creative ice cream flavors from Jeni's. They are strategically postioned outside the AMC theatre in the Oak Brook mall to benefit from high traffic. However, based on the captivating concoction that I just tasted, they could put up a store in the middle of the dessert, and people would still flock to them. As for what I had tonight - a double half scoop of butter brickle almond something something and peanut butter caramel something with chocolate chunks. Names are not important. Just go with it. YUM

Shauna D.

Yelp
First stop in my daughter birthday train!!! And waking in the door it smelled like heaven fresh waffles and so bright and Friendly hellos I loved it She enjoyed her cookies and creme and oh boy can you taste the Whiskey & Cognac in my treats!!! I LOVE it Will definitely be telling my adult friends if my new found place

Leslie A.

Yelp
Had a small snack inbetween shopping here on the weekend. I have also been to the Lincoln Park location as well as this Oakbrook location and both are small but share the same quirky and eccentric menu. Luckily no lines at either location when I went on the weekend even in the middle of winter. Lots of flavors extensive menu great options for dairy free and gluten-free as well. Pricing is a little bit on the higher side considering the portions are a bit smaller.

Eric K.

Yelp
As a vegan, there are better ice cream options out there, but I'll say that their three-four standard dairy-free options are tasty, and I appreciate the effort. I hope the plant-based shift allows Jeni's to branch out into more vegan/dairy-free options, but like I said. I appreciate the offerings, and I was a huge fan of this place before I went vegan, so lots of reasons to show Jeni's love.

Celeste B.

Yelp
It took me forever to find this spot! I heard it was open but I couldn't figure out where at the mall it was. If you google it, it takes you to the parking lot close to Shake Shack. So for those of you that don't know, Jeni's is located on the upper level right by AMC Theaters and the District Food Hall. It's next to Nandos Peri Peri and Potbelly. I ended up parking by Nordstrom's and taking it upstairs to the 2nd/top level to go outside. It's actually a perfect location and I can see it as a fun hangout spot at the mall. They have outdoor and indoor seating so it's a great spot to just relax with your ice cream. The quality is as expected with the other Jeni's locations and does not disappoint. I tried the Texas Sheet Cake and mixed it with a tried and true Brown Butter Almond Brittle in a waffle cone. Super excited that this is now available in the burbs since we've had to take a trip to the city just have it!

Alvina C.

Yelp
Crack. There must legitimately be crack in the ice cream because I can't get enough! Absolutely adore all the unique flavors, quality ingredients, and love that goes into each any every recipe. Everyone that works at any of the Jeni's I've been to appear to absolutely love their jobs and are passionate about the products. On nicer weather days, the line can definitely be long, but they move it a long rather quickly. My absolute fave flavors are the bramble berry crisp and the gooey butter cake. Feel free to sample any of the flavors as there are always new seasonal flavors coming out. Pro tip: When asked if taking it to go or dine in----ALWAYS take it to go

Erin G.

Yelp
Don't walk, run to Jeni's! This place hasn't been open for very long but it already is busy and I am not surprised. When you walk in you, are hugged by the sweet aroma of fresh waffle cones and sweet cream. The staff is so friendly and they were patient as I made my flavor decisions. It was tough! They have so many wonderful flavors; Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flakes, Brown Butter Almond Brittle (my favorite!), Milkiest Chocolate, and Coffee to name a few. Their waffle cones and bowl are all homemade and I highly recommend you get one to pair with your ice cream. Here's a tip, there are two windows of identical ice cream flavors. The first is right when you walk in near where the waffle cones are made and the second is down near the register. I wasn't aware of this so I waited to order at the first at the window of ice cream flavors. The next time I go back I want to get their 'FLIGHT' option, get this, it's 10 half scoops served in a bowl with fresh waffle wedges. I can't wait to bring some friends back here and enjoy a flight of Jeni's ice cream out on their patio. YUM!

Ronan C.

Yelp
I'm not giving one star just for the service, I'm giving one star because it's totally unfair to leave two employees to fend for themselves on one of the biggest and busiest vacation weekends of the year, they were super accommodating given the massive line out the door, but this reflects poorly on upper management.

Ashley V.

Yelp
I am used to seeing Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream in Whole Foods but have never seen their storefront front before. I tried their dairy-free options: the Texas Sheet Cake, Lemon Bar, and Cold Brew with Coconut Cream, and loved all of them. Can't wait to order these by the pint.

Daniella C.

Yelp
I highly recommend to check out Jeni's. This is definitely one of my new favorite ice cream shops! I love the exterior, with the lights and the small patio. I love the art inside and the mini merchandise section. Staff was really friendly and welcoming. Before all the ice cream is a little station where they make their waffle cones fresh! When I walked in, I was drooling by the aroma. One of the staff members told me that it is Jeni signature recipe. Of course it is different than your normal waffle cone! It is has a soft crunch to it and a little salty, but DELICIOUS! When trying different ice cream, they hand you a tiny spoon which I thought was a nice added detail compared to those simple plastic ones. They have big variety of unique options to choose from that will taste beyond your expectations. I asked one of the staff members what their favorite was and tried - Brambleberry crisp & Wildberry Lavender. Both were so rich and flavorful. The Wildberry Lavender tasted like a fruit roll up. The Brambleberry crisp was my favorite. It has oven-toasted oat streusel and a sweet-tart "brambleberry" jam from blackberries and blackcurrants layered throughout vanilla ice cream.

Valerie M.

Yelp
This ice cream is amazing !!! It's smooth and creamy . I try to grab a to go container from target whenever I see it . If you're shopping at the mall and it's a nice day sit outside and give yourself a test . You deserve it . It's a great pregnancy snack too .

Shannon M.

Yelp
Wow, what a treat today while I was at Oak Brook! This location just opened but they're already on the ball; I got superior service from Joe, who gave me lots of information about the various flavors and types of ice creams, and of course some samples! I happily settled on a scoop each of limited time Orange Blossom Buttermilk froyo and the Chicago area favorite, Brown Butter Almond Brittle ice cream, both delicious! The place is cheery with orange accents and black and white tile, and got my weekend started right! I already told several friends about this place and will be back...maybe for the free ice cream on my birthday!

Lydia V.

Yelp
Jeni's ice cream is delicious. I like how they have a variety of unique and classic flavors as well as seasonal flavors. They make the waffle cones right in front of you. They even give you a small piece of waffle cone when you get the ice cream in a cup. The only downsides are the high prices and long lines. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here for those reasons.

Khalid F.

Yelp
3.5 stars I finally tried Jeni's after hearing some hype. It was surprisingly busy on a Sunday night. They have a very unique selection of flavors. I didn't like the two sample flavors I tried, so I ended up with two flavors I felt were safe: milkiest chocolate and cold brew with coconut cream. It was just under $7 for two half scoops in a waffle bowl. Unfortunately the ice cream was more icy and less creamy than I prefer. After reading the napkin, I discovered that their style of ice cream is hard body, so keep that in mind if soft & creamy is your style. Overall, it was okay, but not quite my style of ice cream. And for the price, the scoops were small. Glad I tried it, though.

Tab Y.

Yelp
Jeni's had a line out the door on a warm Saturday afternoon because they were only taking one customer at a time. There was no indoor seating, and the server was well spoken and kind. She said we could not get any samples but that she'd be happy to explain the differences between the flavors. A few in our group ordered some scoops on cake cones and waffle cones. I ordered a scoop of the milkiest chocolate, and to be honest, it wasn't that great. It almost had a grainy texture to it. I think I'd prefer a Häagen-Dazs hazelnut or chocolate ice cream. They did have outdoor seating though, but it was tough to find seating for all six of us. The reason I am giving Jeni's four stars, however, is due to how they've adapted to the COVID parameters and their high quality service. If you're alright with paying a hefty price tag for a scoop of ice cream ($5.50+), then stop by Jeni's for a sweet treat.

Paula H.

Yelp
In the office on a Sunday night and this place is open late for a mall, so came over for a quick break. Loved it! Lavender and Rainbow (two separate flavors) were excellent, the staff are super nice, and there was a long-ish line that moved quickly. Will be back for sure.

Crystal N.

Yelp
Despite the cold outside, we couldn't pass up Jeni's. We were a bit skeptical at first, wondering how they would serve us safely abiding by the COVID-19 guidelines, but we were pleasantly surprised with our experience. They had posted the full menu outside and right in the door, so it was easy to see what they had available and how to order. The server was incredibly friendly, offering to grab samples from the ice cream counter from where the register had been moved up to the front of the store, but we knew what we wanted, so we saved her the trips back and forth. Her offer was really appreciated though! She quickly got our order ready and came back to the front at the other end of the store where we waited to pick up our food. Really great service during the pandemic!

Eric H.

Yelp
I used to drive downtown just to hangout in Wicker Park, have some Wormhole Coffee, and indulge in Jeni's Ice Cream. And while I haven't found the same level of coffee out in Oak Brook, the Jeni's out here makes going to Oak Brook mall soooo much more appealing and even makes it a destination on its own. But to the ice cream - Jeni's wild variety of rotating flavors is totally unique among any other ice cream shops I've been to. Anywhere. Ever. And I love it. The waffle cones are great and an absolute must. The ice cream is very creamy, very flavorful, and with their unique flavor additions, has some really cool textures that enhance the experience (like bits of wild cherry, buttery savanah mint, and more). Now that Covid is generally more manageable for everyone (vaccines widely available), they've reopened their full rotation of flavors and more normal ordering inside with the waffle cones back to being available, so I can definitely highly recommend you stop by Jeni's at Oak Brook Mall and try a few of their amazing flavors!

Angel H.

Yelp
Super friendly employees & they have some new flavors such as white chocolate peppermint, which was very festive and tasty. I always like how they give a waffle chip with the ice cream!

Osiris V.

Yelp
Hmmm why did it take me so long to realize there was a Jeni's in Oak Brook. Not that I need it but finding out it exists makes it a little dangerous. I can't even go into the city with out making a stop, now there's one five miles down the road!? I love Jeni's. I've always wondered if I were to go in a sample all the flavors, would they even let me!? I always get the Gooey Butter Cake, or as I like to call it, Ooey Gooey. Lol some of my other favorites are Lavender and Almond Brittle. Always one or two scoop in a waffle cone then I take a pint home. Hahaha

Jhenevie O.

Yelp
I'm no stranger to the deliciousness of Jeni's ice cream. This is by far one of my favorite locations just because of how big their seating area is. Great for groups. They also have outdoor seating as well. Yes, it's 20 degrees outside and I'm still eating ice cream. Yes, I am freezing. No, I don't regret it. I swear ice cream tastes better in the winter. Upon walking in you're met with the rich aroma of the housemade waffle cone (it really is special). It's that special Jeni's scent that is their trademark. If they sold candles or whatever... they'd make bank. Their winter flavors were SO good. I got the Sugar Plum Fairy which was sooo great. Still sweet but very light and rich all at the same time. The plum jam was so good and the cookies were a perfect crunch and balance to the sweetness. I also got the Brown Butter Almond Brittle both sweet and savory. Here's the thing, is Jeni's outrageously expensive for the tiny scoop you get? Absolutely. But, the flavors they offer aren't standard and can't be found just anywhere. A tiny pint is a whopping $12. It may be smarter to just get one at the local grocery store for a bit cheaper. It is super pricey but worth it in my opinion. This stuff is the good stuff though and I try something new each time because they're flavors are so well developed. I can't go to Oakbrook mall without Jeni's. Best part is that it's literally right next to the movie theaters which is excellent marketing. Please give Jeni's a try!!!

Selma L.

Yelp
The ice cream here is so wonderful and my favorite. The shop is very clean, cute and cozy. All the decor just makes you happy! The girl at the front counter was super friendly and polite. The ice cream is absolutely delicious and I haven't found a flavor yet that I don't like. The ice cream is super heavy, creamy and buttery. Protip: instead of buying a single cone, you can get two smaller scoops for the same price and try two different flavors! Add $1 for each additional scoop. Yum. Definitely great to have a Jennis much closer to home, if you live in the suburbs.

Ruth F.

Yelp
This shop is in "The District," the food court on the roof of the mall. I was here on a 90 degree Friday afternoon, and apparently pre-pandemic lines are no longer an issue. (There's no longer any tasting.) Dairy-free and gluten-free options are clearly marked; the dairy-free are indeed vegan, according to their website. I appreciate the option of two half-scoops of different flavors, and the little wafer of ice cream cone is a nice touch. I got the "biscuits and peach jam" and the dairy-free lemon bar, which is more a buttermilk coconut "ice" cream with a lemon ribbon through it. The texture is good, but not superpremium; I would have liked more peach flavor but I suppose "biscuits and {fruit}" will be less fruity than a plain fruit flavor. The dairy-free had good lemon flavor once I resigned myself to it being lemon ribbon, not bar (should have read the description more closely); it was perhaps just a little icy. I don't usually buy Jeni's at the grocery store, but might visit the shop again: overall, $7 including tip for two flavors on a hot day, not bad. And the dishes and spoons are all compostable, which is a nice touch - there are separate receptacles, clearly labeled, for recyclables, compostables, and trash with explanation of what goes in each.

Yelp
Fresh This location is my first intro into Jeni's Ice Cream. As I thought this was the first one when I see it being built...lol I think I've "seen" some of the ice cream in stores but didn't really pay it any attention. Due to this location being one store over from AMC Oakbrook 12. I knew it would be opening early August 2019 Jeni's is a premium brand ice cream. What I thought I was walking into would be a remodeled "31" flavors. As I was expecting Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry type flavors. It's nothing like that. I think the closest "traditional' flavor they had was Honey Vanilla bean (and nothing like regular vanilla bean). All flavors are unique. My first reaction was more on the cost vs the taste. Which slightly soured my experience, because it wasn't love on the first bite. However, the first experienced had me thinking about the unique taste of the cones and the "new flavor" and less about the value. I think what changed what could have been a three star to five stars was the purchase of Nestlé Drumstick about a day later. Basically, the ice cream is worlds apart. Best ice cream chain? I wouldn't go that far, but like how they are different from the normal chain ice cream shops. Not a fan of the value of the ice cream (All ice cream, no matter what it costs, is made from the same basic ingredients: milk, sugar, and air) but this review is more about the taste. People are more conscious of what they eat and want to eat healthier these days. There are a few options for Non-Dairy (4) Frozen Yogurt, Sorbet (1) My first impression was I wasn't buying all into the whole "fresh" & "natural" flavors but having sampled about 11 flavors and buying the cone/scoop of a few different flavors. I'll say Jeni's done a good job as most of the flavors tasted like they just mixed the flavors in the back vs something that was done 6 months ago sitting in the freezer getting freeze burn. Waffle Cones - Probably the first scent that hits you especially when they are making new batches of waffle bowls. Kind of on the Sugary side. I assume it might be sugar cane as they use Sugar Cane in more of their products vs the generic knock off from other spots. I've had no problem with customer service and one of them started to recognize me. Only concern would be the foot traffic. If you're lucky you don't have a line behind, you. You'll feel more at ease and not rushed to pick a flavor. If you come in with a line, you'll notice a lot of crowding around the first two freezers. the last two freezers are the same thing but not fully in the exact order as the first two freezers. So, don't be afraid to skip the line and figure out what you might want. As a lot of time gets wasted with waiting for people to figure out which flavors they want to try. $12 for a pint (although I've seen them go for $10 in Marino's - your miles may vary)

Yelp
Nice location opened in Oak Brook Mall. The day I came the line was out the door. I was in luck to have already been in line before the line started to form. The staff seemed to be a bit overwhelmed with the crowd. There should have been more employee's working on that day. It was the Grand Opening. It took awhile for the line to move because the people in the front were having a taste test of everything in the freezer. Which stall a lot of time in the line. Good natural ice cream, many different unique flavors and quite pricey for one scoop of ice cream. This place has a nice sweet aroma and Jeni's Splendid merchandise for you to purchase.

Yelp
The good: I believe this is a locally-owned place and not a chain, although I could be wrong. They have a very wide and unique selection of ice creams - regular, vegan, and sorbets. They also hand-make their waffle codes and let you try as many as you want as you decide. This is very important because of their unusual flavors. Being non-dairy, I was very pleased that they had four vegan options and a couple of sorbets. After trying a few, I ended up getting a cup of their coffee with coconut cream "ice cream" (vegan). The taste was outstanding. The not so good: Long lines with their policy of allowing so much tasting means the line moves slowly. For what they offer, they are priced on the high side. And, although mine was really delicious, it must have melted and refrozen as there were ice chips throughout. All-in-all, this is a really great place to try. I'm not sure if the little problem I had with ice chips was because vegan ice creams may sit longer and the demand is lower. But it was worth it.

Yelp
If you like ice cream, and who doesn't, you owe it to your self to visit Jeni's. Regardless of what you pick the quality always shines through in the taste. As with any ice cream it's subjective, that's why it's important to pick what you like. Thus the Atlantic beach pie is too lemony and the Vanilla bean honey is good. However what is not subject to debate is how amazing the brown butter almond brittle and the brambleberry crisp are. If you argue with that, I won't talk to you and you're a liar

Yelp
A brand known for quality ice cream from dedication to good ingredients, this chain has a few Chicago locations I've never had the chance to pop into. Yelp event pops up with the opening of this location and I just had to come the first day! First thing, hellos all-around from the staff upon entry. Then a very nice and knowledgeable staff member serving the ice creams and offering samples (I forgot to get his name, but he had glasses). He described in great detail each flavor as customers asked about them. No handbook or guide needed either when a customer asked about allergies and eggs. He totally rocked opening day! It's not often that I'm surprised by ice cream, considering all the options we have in the Chicagoland area. The ice cream here literally made me say Wow. You can get a single scoop, a regular (two half scoops), trio (three half scoops), and more. They also have pints available for take-home! Don't be fooled by the term "half-scoop," as it's almost full scoop size in comparison to many other ice cream places. The single scoop itself is like a cup! You can get the ice cream in cups (comes with a fresh waffle triangle!) or in a waffle cone or waffle bowl. The waffles are great! Toasty flavor with a hint of sweet, not over-sugary. The ice cream is indeed SPLENDID! Every flavor I had was very flavourful and had amazing texture. There is a great variety of unique flavors here, so be adventurous! My favorite here was the VEGAN Chocolate Sheet Cake. I'm normally very skeptical about anything vegan, I've had my share of vegan substitutes, but I loved this flavor. Great chocolate flavor, blended in with true sheet cake goodness. This was the flavor I purposely ate the smallest amounts from at a time to make it last. Chocolate Sheet Cake, wow. Just wow! Not only splendid ice cream, but also splendid service! A great addition to the Oak Brook Center dining options that easily stands side by side other amazing places to eat (Shake Shack, Stan's Doughnuts & Coffee, etc). Definitely worth the wait for Jeni's to open! Will definitely return! Go here!

Yelp
What an outstanding and unique selection of ice creams, also, they have a number of dairy free options as well to help accommodate everyone. I recommend the Almond Butter Brittle, it was amazing. The staff was super polite and willing to help people taste as many items as they wanted before they committed to a favor. The establishment was very clean and bright and smell of all the sweet delicious flavors from the ice cream. Treat to self!

Yelp
Tried the Wildberry Lavender and White Chocolate Peppermint which were perfect for the Christmas time! The lavender had a very interesting berry taste which was different yet delicious!

Yelp
Similar to other reviews I had problems finding the place. This location of Jeni's is located at Oak Brook Mall's food court, which is on the second floor near the Nordstrom's and AMC theater. The line wasn't out the door like the Chicago locations, but I did wait in line for 5 min or more. You can get 2 half scoops for $5.50 or 1 scoop for $5.50, the half scoops allows you to try 2 different flavors. If you order a regular bowl you get a waffle cone triangle. I tried the Boston cream pie and the cold brew with coconut cream. The Boston cream pie had little chunks of cake. The cold brew coconut cream is dairy free, I didn't taste a strong coffee flavor or coconut flavor though. Between the two I preferred the Boston cream pie because it was slightly sweeter, had something a little more with the cake, and had stronger flavor. My boyfriend had the green mint chip and the honeycomb nectar. Both are limited time. The honeycomb nectar is a very light flavor. After tasteing the other ice cream flavors the honeycomb actually wasn't that sweet. The mint chip has a very strong mint flavor, stronger than other ice cream shops. I'll come back if I'm in the area.
