"Jeni’s has locations across the country, and its new Raleigh location is a welcome addition to the ice cream scene. Now open in the Village District, the shop serves quirky flavors like Brambleberry Crisp or Gooey Butter Cake. The homemade waffle bowl is, like Jeni’s name, splendid." - Catherine Currin

Amazing flavors of ice cream, and the fact that you can get three separate scoops with an order is awesome as well! We tried the Butter Cake, Brambleberry Pie, and some cosmic sherbert (can't remember the name) and there proprietary recipe soda tied it all together. The soda was far more tart than sweet so it definitely drew the flavor of the ice cream out. The only downside was that the girl working was clearly overwhelmed because an employee no showed. I felt bad for her as we came during a rush, but she was still doing great (give her a raise!)

While walking around the Village District, a sweet smell emanating from this place stopped me in my tracks and brought me inside. I’ve found my new favorite ice cream shop. Jeni’s has a great selection of unique flavors. I chose butter cake ice cream in a waffle cone, and it was splendid, indeed! I can’t wait to go again and experience other flavors.

Such nice employees! They knew so much about the ice creams. Lovely little shop.

Jeni’s has long been one of my favorite spots for ice cream since I first stumbled upon a scoop shop about 9 years ago in Nashville. The ice cream is amazing, the flavors are unique and tasty and the waffle cones are made fresh in the shop and smell like heaven. Yes, the ice cream is expensive, but I’ve always thought it was worth the occasional indulgence when I was in a city with a scoop shop (since I didn’t live in a city that had a scoop shop of its own). However, I am unfortunately very disappointed in the new Raleigh location: 1. The prices are consistent with other shops around the country, but the portions are about half the size. You can get more ice cream buying a pint for close to the same price. 2. There’s no place to sit! No place to enjoy the ice cream you just paid an arm and a leg to eat. 3. The last time I was there, the employees closed the shop 30-40 minutes early and I was turned away. Jeni’s either needs to ensure their hours on google are accurate or they need to hold their employees accountable to keeping the shop open during the designated hours. I really do love the Jeni’s chain, but the Raleigh shop needs to step it up. I’ve had much better experiences at other locations in other states.

Google
They were lined out the door when we went which was understandable considering there was only one person working. Seems they should be able to afford to hire more than one person considering the prices. The coffee flavor was pretty good. Milkiest chocolate I was not a fan of. My favorite was the brown butter almond brittle. Scoops are tiny. 3 scoops $7. For me it's not worth the price but it was pretty good.

Google
Best service! Delicious ice cream - rainbow buttermilk and coffee were our favorites!

Google
The ice cream flavors and taste were amazing, though its way overpriced for such small scoops of ice cream they give you 😕. We paid almost $20 there while other ice cream places we could pay less for bigger scoops of ice cream. The waffle cone bowl was salty and had a weird texture I don’t know if it was because those waffle cones were sitting there for too long or what? But me and my family never tasted a waffle cone so salty. I recommend you coming here if you like small portions.

Yelp
The base texture of the ice cream is smooth. The dairy free Texas sheet cake has a coconut milk base that complements the chocolate cake very well. There's a nice shuttle honey taste to the honey vanilla and the Tahini oat is especially good without being over sweet. I really like the waffle bowl because it wasn't overpowering sweet as well. The service was great!! I'll be back with friends!! Environment was quiet and there was a a great outdoor seating area that we enjoyed! Rating of 5 for me is not often but considering I'm not a sweet lover but would recommend and do over because there was more flavor that sweet, more substance of an enjoyable time than smoozing, and no pandering, this place has my vote!!

Yelp
Walk down the quaint path at Cameron Village and find this little gem tucked away in the shops. With unique flavors and kind staff Jeni's is the sweet spot to stop. The choices will have you wanting to pile your dish high with non-traditional flavors like Sparkling Cherry Pie. Come hungry, try a sample and let your tastebuds dance while you take a chance at a new twist on a childhood favorite we think this may just be something out of this world! **Our child with autism is overwhelmed easily. She struggled for a moment but the staff was gentle and kind waiting for her to regulate, understand and order! Kudos for hiring kind people!!!

Yelp
Okay so you know I love Jeni's! I think they have really nice employees, really clean stores, and great flavors. This store had free water and I loved that. I especially love that they have dairy free flavors and rotating seasonal flavors. However, this location only gets 4 stars because they had fewer flavors available and no inside seating. The Durham location has wayyyy more flavors!

Jeff F.

Yelp
Delicious ice cream! My fav6is the Texas sheet cake, so good! It's a bit pricey but worth it!

Teresa W.

Yelp
The store open ups at 12 and there were people waiting!! After my sample I truly understood why. Staff so great and patient. They let me try everything!!! Store nice and clean. Located in a shopping plaza. You gotta come get some you wont be disappointed!!! Your welcome!

Linda S.

Yelp
Love the little flower sprinkles! Waffle bowl is nice cs. Waffle cone very nice counter help & store was bright & cheerful. Right in Cameron village or whatever the new name is. Parking out front but walk if you can. It's always busy!! Love the little metal spoons better ecologically!!!!

Riley H.

Yelp
Sad... got there at 8pm on a summer Monday night and there was a sign posted stating no scoop sales, only pint purchases allowed. No explanation. Disappointing.

Amneris M.

Yelp
I'm so happy I convinced my family to stop at this cute ice cream shop! I fell in love when I saw them making their own waffle cones! The whole process of it was amazing. They had great options for dairy free! The lemon bar one was my favorite! My sister went back today and brought her family to try it out. They even have seating outside to enjoy the delicious ice cream. The ladies behind the counter were knowledgeable and accommodating. Love how they have reusable spoons when you try their ice cream before committing. Can't wait to be back!

Yelp
I wanted to give 10+ stars to this place! The ice cream is spectacular!! Definitely recommend, and I will for sure come back to try more!!

Yelp
I learned about Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams from a Yelp Event. It is located in the Village District. Parking was easy with a lot of parking spaces and even some two hour spots right in front of the shop. The staff is welcoming here and I believe they give samples but I did not ask for any. There are about 20 flavors to pick from. Most of the flavors are always available but some rotate about every week to get you to come back. A downside to Jeni's is that there is no seating or counter either inside or outside so I wouldn't get half scoops again as it melts so quickly. For that event, we were given three half scoops and one of the employees suggested I try the Pop Tarts Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon as it just came out and was limited. So I got that and Wildberry Lavender and Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks. I got a pint of the Milkiest Chocolate to go. I like the flavor of it but it melts too quickly. $12 a pint seems a little pricey too.

Yelp
I am a big fan of Jenni's so I was happy to see they were opening up a shop in the Village District! They are located in the same plaza as Ivy & Leo and Village Deli, close to Kale Me Crazy. The shop is small, but they have two scoop stations setup behind the counter. Honestly the only reason for not five stars is they have zero seating. Not even a few bistro tables outside. It's hard to get a four year old to wait until he gets home to eat his ice cream. He ended up just sitting on the ground outside the building. Besides the seating issue the interior is bright and fun. The flavors are all clearly displayed on the board and in the case. I went for salted peanut butter with chocolate flecks and sweet cream biscuits with peach jam. Both were so delicious! They allow you to taste the flavors before you commit. My son got the rainbow frozen yogurt and vanilla and loved both. He was able to get sprinkles on his. They also have cute stickers at the front that kids can grab one of. The employees were freindlly! It is their openeing week and it wasn't too busy. I can see the place get slammed on the weekends and as we continue into Summer.

Yelp
I was excited to try Jenni's as I've seen in the grocery store but been afraid to commit to a full pint of a few flavors. The guy who served us was very enthusiastic and told us which were most popular, limited, etc and recommended trying as many as possible which I loved. I only wish they had some outdoor seating to sit and enjoy. The Yelp Color changing spoon was a fun addition as well!

Michael B.

Yelp
I showed up for their Grand Opening special in which they were giving out up to three free scoops of ice cream in a waffle bowl/cup of your choice. I will tell you it was kray kray (that means crazy) with that line that went around 70% of the block. I didn't say building, I said BLOCK!!! I talked to some people at the front of the line, and some said they got there at 5pm, while others hours before them, and the event started at 7 pm. I guess you could wait a few hours before the event started, or wait a few hours after the event started. I got there right after 7pm, and the line went the long way around the building past Medlin-Davis cleaners to Rise Biscuit and Donuts. They were also handing out swag bags to the first few people in line. Not sure how many they did, but there looked like a few hundred people there by the time I got in line. I walked in right before 10PM to get my ice cream. I asked the guy making the waffle bowls if he could make me a fresh one for my ice cream, which he did. I really love that they have metal spoons instead of the wooden spoons from elementary schools like other places. The ice cream flavor is really good I will tell you. To be honest, the only reason why they didn't 5 Yelp stars was because the scoops were tiny. I mean, they do charge a premium price for their ice cream, and I think premium price deserves a premium size scoop instead of baby scoops. Maybe they were just using baby scoops for the Grand Opening. If I go back, and they have normal adult size scoops I will adjust my review as long as the service stays great. #511

Yelp
Great ice cream options, and the staff was extremely nice. I got 3 flavors: Texas sheet cake, salted peanut butter, and milk chocolate. I felt like the salted peanut butter was too salty for my taste but was great when combined with the other flavors. Texas sheet cake was super yummy and was coconut milk based. The milk chocolate was good as well. Love the area, too. We ate our ice cream outside and got to enjoy all the cute, nearby shopping. Would definitely come back when in the area.

Yelp
TLDR: Delicious ice cream at a price. Plenty of unique flavors to choose from. No seating. Customer service is okay. Yum, another ice cream place in Raleigh! I was so excited to try out Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams in Cameron village. Ample parking is available in the large plaza and the creamery is easy to locate. We were not greeted upon entering (that I can recall). One employee was helping customers check out, another was helping fulfill an order, and two employees were making waffle cone mix. There was a short line in front of us, but it moved slowly. This was fine since we needed time to decide on what to order. When another group entered behind us, they were greeted and an employee offered to help answer any questions they have. Jeni's offers a variety of ice cream flavors that vary from sweet to tart to flowery. You can try any flavors in the display case on a mini tasting spoon. I like that the tasting spoons are silverware rather than disposable. I tried a few flavors and decided on the signature (3 half-scoops) in a waffle bowl ($8.50) of bramble berry, wild berry lavender, and strawberry buttermilk. The bramble berry and strawberry were my favorite, very flavorful. I like how they offer half scoops so that it is easier to enjoy multiple flavors, but it is expensive. We also ordered pints to go of wild berry lavender, pop tarts, and milkiest chocolate. The pints are already packed and ready to go for $12/pint. This seemed very pricy. It is a better deal than the signature, but $12/pint is higher than all other creameries I have visited in the area. Overall, we enjoyed the ice cream (especially the bramble berry), but there are other more affordable options in the area for specialty ice cream.

Yelp
Not sure what the hype is about this place but my last two times here have been subpar experiences. This ice cream is ridiculously priced it's just flat out NOT worth the money. It's like their ice cream scoopers came from a kid's kitchen play set...one scoop is 5 freakin dollars. The ice cream is way too sweet. Plus, all of their flavors are too whacky to be good considering the quality of the ice cream. When I went to the one in Nashville I had a completely different experience so I'm super disappointed by what it's come to. No shwaeness about it :/

Leslie H.

Yelp
Wanted a sweet fall treat and stopped in Jeni's on this beautiful sunny afternoon. I parked right in front and smiled at the mother/son sitting enjoying their ice cream. They said the brambleberry ( I could be spelling and saying it wrong*) one was sooo good! I don't doubt it as I have heard amazing things about the unique ice cream flavors here. After several free sample tastings, I decided on a seasonal one that reminded me of fall--sweet potato marshmallow Brulee. It did not disappoint! The sweetness of the ice cream was balanced well with a bit of the saltiness I noticed in their fresh made Buttercrisp waffle cones. There were no indoor seating, which may be a problem once temps drop plus it would give a chance to enjoy the colorful &cheerful ice cream shop ambience. However, I liked that they had pints of ice cream ready for purchase if you'd like to take some Jeni's Ice Cream home with you!

Yelp
This is a brand new ice cream place! It was opening weekend so it was very crowded. It took about a half an hour to get ice cream because there were so many people. The quality of the ice cream is amazing though and there were a ton of flavors. I do wish they had more available that were listed online but they were out of a lot of product. I love to the music that was playing and the temperature was good as well. I would recommend that there'll be more workers because there was too much demand for how many people were available to work. I would recommend trying out this new ice cream place.

Di A.

Yelp
Always love going to Jeni's! Their ice cream is phenomenal and have so many great flavors! The service is always great but the scoops are small compared to other Jeni's.

Lauren S.

Yelp
I got 2 single scoops with one in a waffle cone for $15. The ice cream was barely a full scoop. Ice cream taste was ok, but the waffle cone was terrible; I'm not sure what they put in their waffle cones, but it wasn't for me. I had to eat a mint to get the taste out of my mouth. I'm not a fan.

Dione S.

Yelp
The deserts were yummy and they were very generous with the servings!! The ladies were very nice and fast preparing the orders. My mother and I made a " Got To" list. We want to try just about everything on the menu I'm.

Allison D.

Yelp
Staff is rude. No seating. Overpriced. So many ice cream options in the Triangle. Go there.

Whitley A.

Yelp
Fantastic ice cream!! Equally fantastic was the service. Can not wait to go back! Even the Vegan Texas Sheetcake is fantastic , better than most shops' best dairy options!! I am hooked

Steven M.

Yelp
Ice cream was good. 8.30$ for a waffle cone and the Ice cream sits below the top of the cone? Not that good.

Giulia A.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went to Jeni's last night (7/03) and it wad such a terrible experience. It took over 40 minutes to get our ice cream. We came at 10, an hour before closing and there was two associates in the building while only one was helping with the out the door line. The gentlemen who was blonde in the money bandanna was not helping his associate whatsoever. It was an hour before closing, and I get wanting to get out at a decent time, but the wait time was ridiculous. Also to add with the unhelpful staff and rude demeanor of the associates. Won't be coming back here

Maria L.

Yelp
Great customer service! I really enjoyed the ability to try samples it really helped me with picking my flavors out I understand the hype around it. It was busy for a Tuesday night but I understand why just wish they had more people. Clean area love that even though they don't have seating there are benches and other tables at the Village. I got a recommendation of Gooey butter cake and the Strawberry in a waffle bowl!
