Jennings Java Artisan Coffee Roasters

If you’re a coffee connoisseur, this is MUST visit coffee shop. The cold brew is out of this world, with a revolving selection of coffees (roasted on site) on a chilled draft system. The lattes are always killer and I love exploring all the seasonal drinks as they come out. I enjoy trying new flavors so I regularly pick a bag from their great selection of bagged coffees (these are roasted on site as well) which are on point with the description of flavor notes in each variety. The staff is friendly, the bagels and other snacks are from other local businesses, and the café makes you want to hang out for a while!

I came here one day for a quick drink and to plug in for a little bit. My plain latte was great; their espresso has a distinctive flavor from your average shop, and I was a fan of it. I didn't pay much attention to seasonal drinks, but they're probably good based on the quality of the basic drink. They had a couple pastries/bagels available that morning, too. Overall, it's a good space to chill. They have WiFi and outlets, a decent amount of space, and a very clean bathroom. It wasn't super quiet, but less loud than your average shop, and the baristas were cool. I'm sure I'll be back for more!

Until recently I haven’t been much of a coffee snob, I just liked my drip coffee. Buuuuut, I swung into the shop and grabbed a bag of beans for some at home espresso, and that first cup was soooo good! Already told a couple friends about it.

Always a great time here! Daniel and AJ do a great job with the options not to mention great guys. The coffees are great but don’t sleep on taking a bag of beans home…best beans I’ve purchased.

Jennings is a staple in our community down in Merion village already and after 1 year I can't even imagine what life was like without it. Everyone is so kind and clearly love the neighborhood, and the coffee is delicious. The team also partners with independent bakers and other local shops in the area for food and treats which are delicious and a great way to explore what else Columbus has to offer and support locally. A must visit for those coming from outside the neighborhood and a great place to become a regular for those nearby.

I can’t say enough good things about this shop! The staff is amazing. They always give great customer service and are very welcoming. The coffee is just as amazing. They have a very dynamic selection (my favorite is the decaf cold brew on tap which is so hard to find!!!!). I typically like flavored lattes, but the espresso is so good here I typically get more coffee forward drinks. Love it here and always look forward to going!

This is a proper coffee shop! My wife said the coffee was wonderful! Great flavor! They roast their own beans and have a large variety of brewing! They have a bunch of cold brew coffees on tap. Prices are regular coffee shop prices, the coffee cup felt a little empty, but I am not a coffee drinker so maybe it is normal. The coffee was for my wife.

OMG! Go here!!! Yes!!! Me and my Fiancée got Buckeye donuts and wanted a new coffee shop… GREAT PLACE! Coffee is so smooth, the flavor is just perfect. I’m not a fan of bitter coffee, I like it sweet and creamy. I got the birthday cake oat latte and he got one of the fall specials, salted maple cappuccino with oatmilk and YES!! It’s absolutely perfect!! I’m totally coming here AGAIN! Also they’re celebrating 1 year of being open! It was busy for a Sunday morning, but totally worth the wait! I wish I could give more stars 🥹

Super cute cafe and fun drinks! They are always trying out new seasonal flavors and different roasts. They have flights for the tap which is a great way to try a lot of different options. I recently got their oat nog latte and it is one of my new favorites!

What a delightful little gem in Merion Village! We were in town for the Thanksgiving holiday and decided to stop by and were so happy we did. It's so great to see the roasting process and also have quality coffee drinks. Love the space, too- lots of tables to sit and relax.

Pulling into the parking lot we were a little bewildered at first as to where we were but out of the corner of my eye a garage door swung up and there was a friendly face waving at me. I ordered the holiday nitro and had some pleasant conversation with the owner. My drink was perfect! Not too sweet, just enough peppermint that it was not overwhelming and perfectly caffeinated. If you're looking for a unique spot to grab some coffee, this is your spot. Five stars for customer service and a delicious drink!

Went today for the first time, unfortunately very disappointed. It looks pretty much the same as when it was making me happy with less stuff and darker interior. The coffee was expensive and honestly terrible. The beans tasted burnt and I ended up throwing away the coffee. Disappointing because I I loved when bake me happy was there. I was hoping we had something great in the neighborhood.

Jennings Java was started in a dorm room in 2016 by Daniel and AJ. The company is built on 3 principles: high-quality coffee, as fresh as possible, with an enthusiasm for educating the consumer. I believe this to be true after speaking with Daniel about his company. His love for coffee and his customers radiates. All customers get a free cup of cold brew or a hot cup of coffee. Stopped by for the Yelp Event for two of their canned lattes. The chai was so good!!! I love the oat milk and the chai was smooth yet flavorful. I also picked up a pound of Myanmar whole beans. The notes of caramel, toasted peanuts, & chocolate sound amazing! Can't wait to brew it. The guys were super nice and friendly! Love the garage and the small business feel. They are focusing on delivery directly to the customer by using a bicycle and buggie! That's too notch.

Was passing through Columbus and was on the hunt for high quality coffee. Jennings did NOT disappoint! Was so impressed by AJ's knowledge and passion that I picked up 3 bags of beans too. Highly recommend. Will be back (hopefully when the brand new German Village retail spot is open).

genuine great tasting coffee!! The vibes are chill and the coffee is hot! You can tell the staff loves what they do by the quality of the product they deliver.

Tried a sample of the Costa Rica coffee while we were there and had to buy a bag. I normally find black coffee to have a bit of a sour taste and I need to add some cream and sugar or at least milk. I drank the entire sample of Costa Rica and didn't look back. It was amazing all on its own. What a flavor. I'm also looking forward to trying the Cannon Powder - what a fun name!

I really want to love this place because I try to support local as much as I can and I admire Daniel and AJ for starting this company from their dorm room. I enjoyed the canned chai tea and cold brew lattes as well as the matcha tea. However, the beans I bought (one from Costa Rica and the other from Thailand) were flavorless, which was a huge disappointment for a price point similar to other local businesses with really good single origin coffee. I even used an award winning Aeropress recipe with 35 gm coffee beans, 270 gm water brewed to a temp of 84 degrees Celsius, mixed/brewed for a minute, and 6 gm honey...and still just...meh. I have reliably brewed great cups of coffee using the aforementioned recipe on other beans. I understand that batches may differ, but two bags of basic coffee beans makes me hesitant to come back on a routine basis. I do appreciate their excellent customer service, complimentary cup of coffee with any purchase, and obvious passion for coffee. I really hope they can improve their coffee to truly earn my loyalty, and I would be willing to come back to give them another shot.

We love this place! We have come back a few times, the vibe is awesome but the coffee is even better. I am not a coffee drinker but their chia tea latte is amazing. (Yes I know it's not coffee but I usually don't get anything outside of a hot coco at most coffee shops). Plus their coffee beans are roasted daily and made fresh, and there is truly a superior taste for day old roasted coffee, compared to weeks or months.

The best coffee I have ever had. Plus really nice people. Everything I have tried was really good, even things I don't usually like. I drive 20 minutes each way on Saturdays to replenish my supply.

After seeing these guys riding around on bikes delivering coffee in the German village area, we finally decided to check this place out. We had such an amazing experience! I purchased several cans of the cold brew lattes which were so great- probably the best canned latte drink I've ever had, and they use oat milk so it's dairy free. They also gave us free pour overs for purchasing beans, as well as let my husband look through their stock of green beans when they found out he roasts- and gave him those for free too! Great guys, and can't wait to go back!

Smooth classy nitro is something I am willing to hunt down. Jennings has an amazing $6.00 cup of Nitro available out of their Front Street location. I was impressed by the speed and efficiency of the two man crew. The cup stayed cold to the touch. An amazing outing.

I haven't ever been one to trust coffee from a can but this was soo good! I quite literally chugged mine before hitting a 20 mile bike ride and talked about it how good it was the whole time! It had just a touch of sweetness and wasn't the slightest bit heavy as it was made with oat milk! Can't wait to try the chai and pick up a few cans to keep on hand!

Jennings Java makes a great cup of Joe. As the previous reviewer Sarah mentioned, we'd also seen them delivering coffee on bikes last year, and we'd made a mental note to check them out. After seeing a write-up online about them opening their shop to customers, we were happy to check them out, and chose a particularly chilly Saturday morning to do so. They're located a couple blocks down the industrial side of Front Street, and fortunately they have a couple of portable signs saying "Coffee" with arrows to guide patrons to their nondescript garage. This certainly isn't a coffee shop or cafe -- it's a garage. But don't let the lack of bougie decor fool you. The coffee is the real star of the show, as it should be. The co-proprietor, A. J., was very enthusiastic about their coffee, and we decided to order a couple cups of the medium roast Brazilian (the other option was French roast), as well as a canned chai latte. They don't really have a drink menu, per se, so don't come here expecting a sophisticated macchiato. Instead, just come for a good cup of java. I do love the coffee, by the way. There's a lot of complexity to the roast, but it's also very smooth. It's great to see that these guys have started to grow their business, simply by having a good product, and an inspired delivery idea. Hopefully they continue to grow and Jennings becomes a significant player in the Columbus coffee scene.

I was looking for some new coffee around Christmas, and looking local, read about Jennings Java. I've had French roasts before (store bought ground using a drip pot, k-cup, etc), so I decided to try theirs. Their French Roast standard grind out of my drip pot is a very smooth, easy drinking dark roast coffee. And it smells great. If you like dark roast and want something with low acidity, this is a great choice! Would purchase again.
