Today was our first time to Jen's Place and we LOVED it!! We happened upon it on our way to the Diamond Factory and it was the perfect lunch spot! We both got quiche, a side Cesar salad and tea. Their black current tea was so fresh and tasted amazing!! Dessert was very tempting with lots of choices, but we were good (today)! I sure do wish there was a Jen's Place near me v. a 30 minute drive!!!

This place feels like a warm hug. Every single employee we've encountered is genuine and kind. I've seen the same faces working here for years--that's saying something in the restaurant industry. Situated close to my kiddo's school, we come in for breakfast or lunch once or twice a month-- every chance the school schedule allows. Jo knows us by name, even when it's been several weeks between visits---such a nice welcoming touch. She's a pro. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and it's a great value. When we no longer live here, Jen's Place will be one of the few places we truly miss about Dallas. It's an absolute gem.

Fantastic food and the employees make you feel right at home. Can't wait to go back.

My first time here at the suggestion of a friend. The sandwiches and salad varieties are impressive for such a small and tidy restaurant. And if you don't get chips etc with your food in the first line they give you credit so you can go to the dessert section. That's an awesome selling point. You can actually hear yourself talking to the person you're with so it's not even overly loud. Go and enjoy some great food.

Food was good, staff was friendly building was clean. This spot was recommended for a quick lunch by a coworker. It hit the spot and was fast. Prices were a little higher than I expected, but everything is going up in price lately. Got my food to go and didn't check out the restaurant. I'll be back at some point.

This is such a great place! Great food, generous portions, reasonable prices and a wonderfully relaxing place to have breakfast or lunch. It is cafeteria style which I think adds to the fun. Always see old friends or talk with someone new. It’s just easy and good. All of it! Others think so too because It is celebrating its 30th year in business this year! You won’t be disappointed

Food was great and staff was super helpful and friendly. Quiche was so good. Recommend the soups, salads for lite lunch. The lunch specials change each day, so there is always good deal each day. Would have taken a photo of the Oreo cookie cake and German chocolate cake, but they were gone way too fast.

I haven't been here for a few years but am happy that their chicken and dumplings are as delicious as I remember! I ate the entire bowl. Their daily special also came with a side of green beans or black eye peas, a side salad and a roll. I think I rolled out of there. 😁 My friend finished her salad sampler too!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. Well, if you actually have taste buds. I will attest every time I have tried to come here I end up pissed off at the money I spent on such small portions and tasteless food. I WILL REPEAT TASTELESS AND OVER-PRICED!!!!!! I will say, there is always older people here and I always hear "elderly" people don't like salty food. Well, they're not using anything here. And that's just the food! Today was the last straw for me I won't ever waste my time again. This place is TRASH! LA MADELEINE IT IS EVERH TIME! THEY ARE RUDE AS FUCK HERE! Today I had a woman that refused to take my order and shuffled me everywhere but the place to order. WHICH WAS TO HER!!!! I will never come here again and I hope you don't either!

Delicious fresh food. So good. The garlic chicken is the absolute best special. I wish they had it every week instead of the brisket!

Decided to try something new around my work, and this place looked good. I ordered to go- pickup was super simple, especially since it was busy! I got half of the club and pasta salad. My husband got the ham and cheddar quiche with a side Caesar salad. The sandwich was so good and simple, the pasta salad was seasoned and had fresh veggies! It was delicious. My husband enjoyed his meal too, the Caesar salad did not leave a single leaf dry! The price was reasonable, this will probably become one of our regular spots now. Can't wait to try the delicious looking cakes they have!

Clear and simple menu. Happy and efficient staff. Food delish. Nice ambiance. First visit for me--will be back again soon

I don't understand how this place is SO AMAZING. Literally everything I have ever ate from here is delicious. You can never go wrong. And to top it off service is always excellent. Very rare to love everything I've tried on the menu but Jen's has made that possible.

Parking is no issue Food is so good. I've had sandwiches and breakfast tacos here. The food is always fresh. Service is great! Highly recommend!

This place was wonderful! Wish I was closer to it. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Food was great and well priced and good portion size. Coke products for drinks (yay!) and good iced tea options. Tables were placed a bit tight together but I understand why (they need enough chairs for the tons of people coming in) and walls were decorated with frames with motivational quotes. Loved it! Definitely going back!

Went during work for lunch with some coworkers, it was good food! The staff was all friendly and helpful! The desserts were delicious too. Parking can get tricky though

As a chili connoisseur, the frito pie is what brought me here. Yeah, I'm certified in chili connoiseurness in case you didn't know. To be clear, it's more chili topped with Fritos and not the other way around as it's traditionally known. Ordered it with everything, including cheese, onions and jalapeños. And I know this is a favorite for some folks but the chili had no flavor. Because there was so much of it, it made the 'frito pie' more of a frito bomb (not the good bomb either). Once a place bombs on chili, not sure if I can go back and try something different off their menu.

I stopped by while having my vehicle serviced for a bite for breakfast and they had a decent selection. So I tried to keep it simple. Definitely will try the lunch and leave with some bakery items.

Wonderful breakfast and lunch with super fast and friendly service. The place is very clean. For lunch they have a daily hot meal special that is always great the sandwiches are too as is the soup and salads. Cookies are not to be missed they even do special sugar cookies around the different holiday's

I am dissapointed in the food. I expected better. improve. I do not recommend. I wanted to come enjoy a good meal since everyone talks about how good it is here and nope. Tastes dry and does not taste fresh AT ALL.

Love this place! Great quiche, fantastic Caesar salad, homemade rolls,desserts and not to mention the black tea! Won't disappoint!

First time at Jen's Place and it was definitely worth visiting. We'll be back. We went on a Thursday about 11:15 and it wasn't busy but by 11:45 they had a good crowd. Nice menu options. We settled on chicken noodle soup, frito-pie, and split a club sandwich. All delicious. The frito-pie was filling; it would have been a lunch all by itself. The staff was friendly and the bathrooms clean. Try it, you'll like it just like we did.

This place is Family owned. I have never had a bad experience and it's a great place to eat weekly Lunch.

It is packed at lunch for a reason. Great selection of food. I will say the only issue I ever had was going in on a Monday at 11:30 and getting my normal Caesar salad with grilled chicken and the lettuce was soggy, not crispy. So I wonder if it was from the previous Friday and left over sitting in the fridge. All of the other times it was nice and crisp.

Jens Place is consistently high quality! They make the best muffins ever morning, and lunch is always comforting and delicious. From Frito Pie to Quiche , and some of the best cookies and desserts! Always good! It's really busy at breakfast and lunch, you might have to wait in line a few, but it's more than worth the wait. The owners are very nice. Give them a try!

Didn't realize this hidden gem is so close to my work. I tried the chicken salad on a croissant and it was so delicious. Definitely didn't skimp on the salad and it was tasty. Can't wait to go back and try dessert.

Short review because I'm now ill. Meatloaf was almost rare. Pasta salad had "turned". Black eye peas were unsalted. Roll was underdone. Mashed potatoes were excellent, though. Live near here and eaten here many times and have eaten catered meals from Jen's; some good, some bad; none made me sick before today. Two stars instead of one because of friendly staff, inspiring decor, and mashed potatoes.

I had been wanting to go for a while but everytime I'd pass by it was packed. I drove by one day and it looked pretty empty so I pulled right in. I order a Frito pie and a sweet tea. The Frito pie was literally ready before I finished getting my sweet tea. The cashier and the manager were both very nice. They gave me a big plastic bowl of chilli and Fritos separately. It didn't look like much but it was absolutely amazing, so flavorful and filling, the best chilli I ever ate. The place looks cute and I'll take my daughter sometime. I highly recommend this place.

Great place for lunch! I came here for lunch during the week with a friend and the place was packed. We were greeted with friendly smiles and very helpful staff. The ordering process is efficient. You place your order, grab a tray for your items and move along the line to pay. I ordered a half chicken breast/provolone sandwich and a small salad. The sandwich was excellent! The chicken was cooked perfectly, juicy and flavorful. The salad was fresh, crisp and the perfect amount. The dining areas provide plenty of seating, however, you might feel a bit crowded as the tables are close together. The bathroom was not very clean and it didn't feel like there was any air flow or ventilation in there. Overall, it's a great spot for a quick lunch if you don't mind the noise of a bustling place.

Great food and superior service. I had the trio salad which was almost enough for two people. The chicken salad tomato and cucumber salad and Asian slaw salad were very good. My friend had a half sandwich and soup that was also delicious. Having been here in the past I know their desserts are hard to beat. So I got a to go order of carrot cake for my husband and lemon bar for me for later on today. I am looking forward to getting hungry later tonight to enjoy this desert. It is always crowded but they have a lot of seating so make a little extra time on your lunch hour to either come early or later so that you don't have to wait too long or fight for parking.

Absolutely love Jen's! Every time I'm in Dallas a stop to Jen's is a must. Not only is Jen's quick and easy everything I've eaten has been spectacular. The portions are great and everything is fresh made. I especially love the memories I have there because it was always the place I went with my great aunt and uncle while visiting. My great uncle passed recently and all I can think of is their chicken and rice soup that was his favorite.

This place is our go too at lunch. They have so many different offerings of soups, salad, sandwiches and amazing dessert. The staff is very friendly and there isn't much of a wait if you are on your lunch break but it gets packed.

Good food, wonderful service, and very nice people. This place is a hidden gem. I plan to make it a regular stop on the way to work.

With much regret I leave these suggestions. Sorry I have to do this- it was all I could do to finish my lunch. The people working for Jen's Place, removed dishes from empty tables and did not spray or wipe them down. When they did wipe them( and it's was about every 5th or 6th table it was with a cloth they used over and over again. Covid and cleanliness are always very important to remember.

Food is pretty good, but beware of to go orders, as portions seem to be smaller and quality not as good as eating in the restaurant. Overall food quality has slipped over the last few years. Menu needs a refresh.

This is my first (and likely only) 'review' as I was compelled to come to Yelp just to ask the larger audience "what is with all the hype for Jen's Place?" I've worked around the corner for 18 years, and our boss has taken us to the restaurant or ordered us take-out quite a few times. The staff have always been really nice, the restaurant has always been really clean, but each of the 15 or 16 different meals or sandwiches I've had were the most boring, bland, dry, unoriginal, over-priced food offerings that I allow someone else to buy me. The portions are skimpy/sandwiches are small, the menu lacks anything special that you can only get specifically at Jen's, and even the desserts are on par with the selection you get in most high school cafeterias. Maybe all the 5-star ratings are based on the appearance of the building or the personality of the staff? Admittedly I'd give them both higher than a 1-star rating, but unfortunately for Jen's Place I came here to rate the food quality and not the architecture. I read a 5-star review on here where a gentleman stated that the chicken noodle soup was awesome because it had a decent amount of both chicken and noodles. I'm not sure where this gentleman had been getting his chicken noodle soup prior, but I'm under the impression that having a decent amount of both ingredients in a boring bowl of soup wouldn't be enough for me to rate it higher than the Campbell's I could make at home. Maybe it's me that's wrong, or maybe, just maybe there are a ton of people in North Texas that are impressed with dry, boring, less than mediocre food that's served in an environment that's one step above Lubby's?

I ordered pickup one day which happened to be their chicken tetrazzini daily special. I ordered the broccoli as my side and a Caesar salad. The meal also comes with a roll but I requested for them to leave it out. After ordering the food online it took about 10 minutes if I remember correctly for them to prepare the food which is quite fast! I only live down the street so this was extremely convenient for me. Once you walk in there's a sign over the counter that designated where to pickup your order at. So the overall process was very quick and easy. Overall the food was good but the salad was my favorite part of the meal. I probably wouldn't order the chicken tetrazzini again however I am interested in trying their salad trio. I can see why people would come here for their daily specials.

What more could you possibly want? Breakfast. Great home cooking, salads, sandwiches, soups, chili and BAKED GOODS! Their $10 daily lunch special is enough food for two almost!!! (Check their site www.jensplacebakerycafe.com for the daily specials. They are only open M-F from 7a-2p. There is plenty of seating and an amazingly quick busser who turns the tables over so there's plenty of places to enjoy this amazing food! Call ahead and pick up or dine in. The chicken and dumplings on Thurs is so good it will make you wanna slap yo momma (but don't !). I'm picky about my black-eyed peas but these were super tasty. Walk in, order, get your food and be seated! Drink stations are in the corners. The staff is SUPER friendly and helpful and very accommodating. Family opened and operated. You can't go wrong...just don't go late or on the weekend!!!!

Food is great, service is great, not open nights or weekends. Prices have gone up, like everywhere else. Check out the Wednesday lunch special....brisket !

This place has been a go to foe me for years. they have the best Caesar salads and deserts. the staff is just lovely. Please stop by when your in the area.

Solid spot, quick and delicious. I highly recommend the tuna salad on a croissant. The only reason it's not a 5... for a walk through the line kinda thing they're very lax with masks

I've been coming to Jen's since 1998/1999 and am amazed at how friendly the staff is here and how eager they are to help and do it with a smile. In a time where most restaurants are struggling with quality and service, this place lacks neither. Customer for life

If Jen's Place were open on Weekends, I would for sure make it in at least once a week. Their menu is huge and they offer daily specials. I usually keep it pretty simple when I visit by getting a sandwich and soup which never disappoints. I have also had their frito pie which is insane. They have a selection of cakes, bars and cookies. I would recommend the cookies and cream or strawberry cake. This has been my favorite cafe for several years now and is my go-to spot for my days off during the week.

Check out this hidden secret in far North Dallas. I've never been disappointed here. From their daily specials like the chicken and dumplings on Thursdays to their varied salad selections everything is amply portioned and tastes great. The chili smothered baked potato and frito pie are also awesome. Lunch is well attended, but I've never had to wait for a seat. Check out that desert counter. The millionaire cake is so rich it will make your teeth hurt.

I ordered the Thursday special chicken and dumplings and was so disappointed. It was so watery so it was more like soup. The dumpling had no flavor at all so that must mean they may not be homemade. I got the black eyed peas and those have got to be canned cz they were dry like they were just heated up instead of actually haven being simmered. The fruit was cool, being out of season I wasn't really expecting too much with that. I don't know if it was an off day because the other pictures the chicken in dumplings look different then what I was served.

Seriously my favorite go to lunch spot! I love everything this place has to offer. Fast service and great customer service. My favorite thing to get is the Cesar salad! It's so delicious and a must have. Their soups are all delicious. The baked potato is yummy as well

I wish I would've taken photos of my delivered food just to show what I'm about to review. The famous chili (labeled that way in the menu) was so watery. It should've been called a chili soup. Not a fan, at all. There was no seasoning. No texture except for the tiny bits of ground beef in this soup. Ordered the trio salad. The Asian cabbage salad tasted as if it wasn't dressed. Pasta salad was bland and the pasta was over cooked. Caesar was okay, even though it was just plain romaine lettuce. No Parmesan, croutons, etc. My kid like the chicken breast and provolone sandwich. She thought the flavor was good. I'm not a person who immediately salts stuff or over seasons. The majority of the food we received was super bland and not prepared well.

I come here almost weekly. I recommend the loaded baked potato with bbq brisket. They always seem to have the biggest potatoes for their baked potato! It's amazing how they're always so big but I'm a fan! Literally, you can't go wrong with anything in their menu. They use fresh produce and they're team so engaging and accommodating. 11/10 chance that will continue to come in weekly!

I love this place! Great local place where the quality of the food and smiles is unsurpassed! My old employer would cater breakfast from Jen's. They were good, accurate, and appreciative. I was happy when I started working near their location to try lunch! I was NOT disappointed. Back to breakfast for a moment, try the stuffed croissants; they're to die for! For lunch, they offer daily specials but I always get a sandwich which has sides to choose from or you can up charge and get something else. The staff is awesome. I don't feel they have a high turnover. The faces stay the same and you feel they love what they do. They're even closed the entire week after Christmas through New Years. Props to the owners. That's awesome.! Great place to give a try. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

We ordered a dozen cookies (buy 9, get 3 free) and a slice of German chocolate cake. The German chocolate cake wasn't very good. I took one bite and stopped. The topping was very strange and almost bitter. The chocolate cake part was stale and hard. The chocolate chip, sugar, and peanut butter cookies are good. Oatmeal raisin, not so much. It might've been one of the worst oatmeal raisin cookies I've ever had. They are really large too, so a pretty good deal for 12. I wish they had gotten my order right though. I asked for 4 each of chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and sugar. Instead I got 3 of each variety.

I've been here a few times because I keep hearing good things about it but each time I go, the food is just okay. The first time I went I ordered a breakfast croissant sandwich. I wasn't too impressed, but I'm not that big of a fan of breakfast food in general so I thought I would try it for lunch one day. The other two times I went I had the Jen's famous chili and a baked potato. The chili was alright. The baked potato was the best thing I've ate there. The lunch seemed a lot better than the breakfast but none of it was very memorable.

Jen's place has been nothing less than great in the few visits I have had. I wanted to try out a special and a regular item menu before reviewing to ensure it was all tasty :) IT WAS! The chicken and dumplings are hands down the best in my opinion and others I have visited with about Jen's. Served with one side and a roll, warns your heart and fills the tummy! I've also had the BBQ baked potato and holy smokes was it a mountain of delicious chopped beef! Fully loaded of course with butter, cheese, sour cream and chives. Super filling! The staff is very accommodating and their process of ordering is easy to follow. First area is for sandwiches and salads. Next soups and potatoes. And so on! Grab a tray and follow along :)

The soups are delicious, today I'm having the chicken noodle. I have ordered their sandwiches, salads, and desserts in the past - never been disappointed.
