Dig in to Barbecue, Fish and Chips, and Chili at These Black-Owned Restaurants in the DMV | Eater

"The Jerk@Nite owners started serving Caribbean food out of their dorm room while they were students at Howard University, and now operate two D.C. area locations (in Langdon Park and H Street), along with a food truck. Follow their social media for updates on where the truck will be next. Be sure to check out the jerk chicken and lamb chops, oxtail tacos, and beef patties." - Julekha Dash

If you’re looking for a Caribbean Restaurant in the DMV area? Then you need to add this Jerk At Nite Restaurant to your restaurant list of places to visit. Our meal was delicious, made with flavor and tasty all the way to the last bite. Staff were friendly and customer service was great. This location offers a variety of options to choose from on the menu. This location was clean and includes a small indoor dining area, and it’s located in a small industrial area with a limited amount of parking space available out front of the restaurant but there’s no available street parking space.

So. My lower score is strictly based off the portion size to price ratio! Other than that, the sides I ordered were very flavorful. Just don’t believe it was worth $16!!! For 3 sides

I ordered my food to go but it was all good from the ordering to me receiving my food. I ordered the Wingz and Tingz. Flavor was great. The wings were a little big for me, which some folk may prefer; I just happen to like smaller, well done, wings. The macaroni and cheese and cabbage were DELICIOUS. I will go back for the mac and cheese FOR SURE.

My salmon was dry, my JMac was so salty and over seasoned,, couldn’t even eat it. I wasted $35, I’m so disappointed. I called to speak with the manager however he was unavailable.

I believe I saw the jerk chicken tacos in an Instagram post and saved it to my D.C. Yelp list, and I’m glad I did!! The tacos were worth the wait coming from Houston! The flour shells were soft and crispy, the chicken was well seasoned and juicy, and the peppers/onions rounded the flavor out nicely. The cabbage was bomb, wasn’t expecting much it was a pleasant surprise. The beef patty was average but solid. 9/10 overall. The inside of the restaurant was small but did have places for you to dine-in. Service didn’t take a long time considering the chicken was cooked fresh, but I also went after the lunch rush around 2 pm. If it was during busy hours I’d recommending placing a pick up order. Street parking is also extremely difficult to find and there isn’t a parking lot.

I came to this restaurant based on a reel review I saw on Instagram. When we arrived around 3:30pm on a Friday, we were told they didn't have most of the menu. Then we were offered entrees with double cabbage since there was no rice and peas. We were told it would take 10 minutes for the rice and peas, so we decided to wait. We ended up waiting about 25 minutes. The jerk chicken was about $16 (+tax), and the curry chicken was $23 (+tax). The size of the jerk chicken plate was rather small for the price, but it tasted pretty good. The curry chicken had a nice taste, but the jerk chicken seemed more flavorful. The vegetables that were placed on top did not seem cooked. Additionally, we asked for double rice and peas on both plates (no cabbage), but over half of my plate was cabbage. I don't care for cabbage in general, but because I waited almost 30 minutes for the rice and peas, it added insult to injury. The decor of the restaurant is nice, but sitting by windows during the day would be recommended since there is no window pane to prevent the flies that migrate there from entering. Citronella may help.

this location has fell off tremendously! I came to this location Saturday night and the food had no flavor whatsoever! I’m not sure if they have a new cook but the food was flavorless, the cabbage was trash and the food in general smelled extremely weird. i will say the customer service was good but i will not be back! & also the prices change every-time i go. Below is the new prices

This was a surprising twist on Jamaican dining. The artistic flair was savory…Every bite was an explosion of flavors and spice. The portions were family style and the service was impeccable… we left no crumbs… We can wait for our next dining experience…Highly recommend.
