The Best Restaurants and Bars at the Mall of America | Eater Twin Cities

"A departure from the typical food court options, this casual, Canadian counter-service chain serves Caribbean cuisine specialties like oxtail with red beans and rice, tender and spicy jerk chicken, and even roti." - Justine Jones

Tried Jerk King at the Mall of America and went with the bone-in jerk chicken with rice and peas. It’s served cafeteria-style from heated trays, so nothing made to order, but that’s expected for mall food. I’ve had jerk chicken before and this one was okay—not super bold in flavor, but still enjoyable enough. They do give a generous portion, and with a drink my total came out a little over $21. For a quick bite while walking around the mall, it gets the job done. I’d say close to 4 stars. Would I come back? Probably, especially if I’m craving jerk chicken and want something filling without a long wait.

I stopped by twice in one day while I was at the MOA, I had two beef patties and one chicken patty. The service was great, the patty had good flavor but it was not hot, just warm. I would go back.

We confirmed with employees and they told us that chicken items are halal. We tried their chicken sandwich and it was amazing. The chicken inside the sandwich had legit spices and it was very tasty. Not bland at all. Dave’s hot chicken does not hold a candle to this chicken. The portion sizes were generous as well. Staff were friendly.

I've eaten here more times than I can count. 😋 Even introduced my sister to them. She can't get enough. My absolute favorite place to eat at the Mall of America. Staff are always friendly. Food is always yummy and well seasoned!! Portions are great for the price. My Go-To are the jerk chicken thighs (bone-in) and red beans & rice. My sister loves the oxtails. Highly recommended

I've been on the hunt for a good oxtail plate. The portion was generous. The oxtail was tender and good gravy sauce. I'm big on spicy so the hot sauce was a hit in my book. My son ordered the jerk wrap. He actually was impressed with the spice heat level it was. We eat a lot of spicy food so we're not easily impressed. But he compared it to the Thai/Lao papaya salad spicy level (if you ever tried it, you know what I mean). All well worth the money spent. Yum!

Didn't think a Caribbean jerk spot would work at a food court in mall. I was right. Pick up order was difficult walking thru mall at age 55 yrs I was not happy but wanted to try. All food items online menu was not available (Curry Chicken). And only chicken was jerk thighs. No plantains available limited other sides chicken was baked with jerk sauce and I would had done a better job at home. Even in a snow storm on bbq grill. Beef patty was just ok. Sorry just being honest I rely on honest reviews when trying a new place.

So delicious. I picked the spicy sauce and it was the perfect level of heat.

We had 2 orders of the boneless chicken jerk chicken plates with rice n peas and veggies. I also ordered the oxtail plate with rice n peas and chick peas. Being half jamaican, we loved it and reminded me of my grandma's cooking. We only here for a soccer tournament from southern cali but we definitely would return.
