A must try if you’re in the area and want some authentic Jerk Chicken or Jamaican food. The food is absolutely delicious! And the lady is also really really sweet 😊 great customer service. My colleagues and I went here almost everyday on our lunch break while I was on a work trip in NYC. Thank you ma’am!

You can’t find goat head soup in Midtown, except here! I don’t have to say much the photo tells it all. Quality meat, FRESH ifykyk. So much flavor, not too thick, not too watery. Their jerk chicken always hits! Their macaroni salad, HITS! Anything on their breakfast menu hits! Been a long time customer ❤️

We live in Pa but my husband works in Ny! So I call n place the order for him to bring the food home n I must say this is the best Jamaican food ever! They give you large portions, cabbage n rice always fresh, jerk chicken n oxtails is 💯 I will continue to buy from here & they are very friendly when you call to place order over phone!!

Ordered the jerk chicken and it was decent but not great. For $13 you get a medium platter with rice & beans, and you can get 3 sides that includes macaroni, plantains, and steamed vegs. The portions were generous. Will go back to try the curry goat and oxtail.

I only work in office two days a week, but when I do, and I need to buy lunch, I walk my ass a mile to get food from this truck. Curry Chicken with Rice and peas with plantains is my go-to order. They haven’t let me down yet

Lawd have mercy. The only problem I have with this place is it's too good 😂 I wish I could order trays of the oxtail and rice and pease. But we all know that can get so expensive. I love this as a self care treat to myself though.

Note, on 4/12/21 when I visited they were on the southeast corner of 48th and Park. I ordered the custom combo of jerk chicken, curry chicken, and brown stew chicken, with rice and macaroni salad in size medium for $19. Though a medium, they packed it with so much food that it was good for 2 meals so I think the price was actually reasonable. I'd say the jerk chicken was the strongest of the 3 meats. The brown stew chicken was good but not as flavorful and the curry chicken I think you'd be better off going to an Indian restaurant.

I’ve been here twice and gotten the oxtails with, plantains and rice and beans. The flavor is out of this world and the oxtail is incredibly tender. They were also generous with their portion sizes. I really enjoyed the meal so much! They offer a lunch special, medium and large size for dishes.

This restaurant parks up by the hospital in a school bus painted in Jamaican flag colors. Yes the two people who work in it are friendly but they serve you cheap servings. I ordered a lunch special oxtail rice and peas. They killed me with rice. Two pieces of meat and bones no veg or plantain for lunch special it's more money. Stay far from the macaroni salad it has no flavor. The Pattie's are burnt. I gave them another chance I asked for a large soup mostly broth and meat. Dude gave me a bone potato and broth for 13$ I'm sorry east70 deserves better the service is okay I'm almost sure they save the food to go back to the main restaurant in queens.

I am a Jamaican and I can tell you this place have the worst Jamaican that I have ever eaten, a friend bought me two patties from them today and I gave it another try and they were stale

I did a tempt job in midtown and found Jerk pan after it was recommended. I went back everyday that week! I tried so many of their dishes and each one was so delicious! Curry goat, oxtail, fried chicken, rice and peas, festival, fritters! Everything was amazing!

One of the best jerk chicken with rice and peas I had . Don't forget to get some chicken curry gravy on top. Also a Mac and cheese side order is a must . Highly recommend this food truck. However it's a bit pricey.

Tried the large jerk chicken lunch combo today with rice and peas and mac salad. $16. The portions are big...a large could have easily fed 2 people. The chicken had great flavor although there were a lot of bones to pick through. Rice and beans with gravy were the star. Mac salad was pretty plain as it seemed to have no dressing whatsoever. They do accept credit cards which is nice and service is very quick. Order to pickup at the food truck took fewer than 5 minutes. I would definitely come back and try some other items.

Food is always delicious. I love getting the large soup. I think they offer a different soup everyday which I'm so happy that they do.

Their Jerk chicken got a good flavor and it's good, but to me sometime it's dry. Oxtail is very good & tender, the meat just fall off the bone. I always order the medium portion, it is very filling. Make sure you order the mac & salad as your side. it's very good. Their beef patty is also very good. But lately, their service is very slow, but overall their food is always good. I would recommend it.

Came here later in the afternoon to grab lunch, around 1:30pm on Friday. The line was really long and wasn't moving, assuming they were making more food.. By the time I got to the front of the line it was over an hour later. I got the medium jerk chicken and rice but didn't get another side since they had ran out of all other sides. The key that I didn't know was that you can call and pick up from the front of the truck to bypass the entire line. Definitely will be doing that next time. The jerk chicken was not dried out and the flavor was pretty decent. I wish they gave me more sauce though cause seriously what's jerk chicken without a crap ton of sauce? I say pretty decent but not worth a long wait.

Oxtail was delicious. Excellent gravy. Amazing portion sizes. Completely full after the large... .you won't regret upsizing for the value.. There can be a line. Get there early!

I not only don't have good Jamaican food where I live, I don't even have bad Jamaican food where I live. We just don't have Jamaican food. So whenever I'm in New York, I have to seek it out. Well this was the closest place to my hotel so I thought I'd give it a try for lunch. Got there and the line was fairly long, but I had time. Glad I waited. Prices are a little steep (I couldn't decide between the jerk chicken and the oxtail, so I got the combo- which apparently is $17). I would not do that again. I've had better oxtail, but the jerk chicken was on point. Rice and peas were crazy good too.

I always get excited when I find West Indian food in Manhattan. It's like finding an authentic, pristine Dolce and Gabbana dress in a thrift store for $100 (23rd birthday dress - Tokyo Joe, thank you!). I order the mini and it's sufficient for me. And for $7, you can't go wrong. I love the jerk chicken and curry goat. You can even call ahead and place your order!

Jerk Pan is by far the best food truck around the 48th Street and Park Avenue area. On this street, there are many food trucks to choose from. This happened to be my absolute favorite. Go for some Caribbean Jerk Chicken or Oxtail. It comes in small, medium, or large. Even a small order is huge! There is a generous amount of food and super filling. Let the food coma come after lunch! You will choose a meat and it comes over white rice or rice with peas and a side of cabbage, mac salad, or plantains. Jerk Chicken is smokey and spicy flavored of Jamaican seasoning. Gravy sauce is really good with rice. Chicken meat is so tender that it just falls off the bone. This is my favorite dish here. Oxtail. When I am looking for something unique, I opt in for the oxtail. They are so tender and chewy so it does not take much to scrape it off the bone. Also very packed with flavor. I normally finish a medium in the course of two days. On the second day, the flavor is even more in depth in the meat. So good! Check it out!

First time having Jamaican food and it was delicious. We got the jerk chicken and jerk wings, both with the rice and peas with gravy smothered on top. We got one with veggies and one with mac salad. The jerk sauce tastes amazing. Unfortunately, it was too strong for one of our tastes, but the rest liked it. We all agreed the rice and peas were really good, some argued it's the best part. I highly recommend this spot and wish I had Jamaican food like this at home.

Thank you!!!! The jerk chicken reminds me of a spot I used to go to on Utica Ave in BK.. A lil sweet, a lil spicy. The lunch was very filling (to the point I have lunch for tomorrow too) and satisfying. I know to ask for double gravy/sauce next time b/c once I started using my dumpling to sop up that loveliness... I was mad at myself! Definitely a spot I will go to again & again (made even more easier by calling in my order ha!)

This food truck is amazing. Always a line but moves quickly. I'm honestly not sure how health 4 lbs of jerk chicken and fried rice is so ever since I've started trying to be healthier I stopped going here but that's more a me problem than on the business. It is delicious

One of the better food trucks in Midtown East. Good, authentic Jamaican food with very reasonable prices by Manhattan standards. The menu is not huge but offers all the popular Jamaican dishes that you'd expect - Jerk chicken, Curry goat, Stewed chicken, Oxtail, Fried chicken, etc. I've tried most of them and they're all very good. The standouts to me are the Jerk chicken and Curry goat. If you're a fan of Jamaican food and food trucks, this is one that you'd want to check out.

Managed to snag the last of the chicken today around 3pm Chicken is delicious and spicy. Lots of nice charred flavor. Portion size for the $12 large was pretty nice. Only real downside is the chicken is loaded with bones so overall value may not be the best.

Thieves! Don't order from them PERIOD! Placed an order from them on Uber Eats, delivery guy said they weren't even there! WHY TAKE THE ORDER IF YOU ARE NOT THERE THEN!?

They satisfied my hankering for oxtail and jerk chicken. I got the medium lunch (choice of protein with rice and plantains) and the portions were generous. I had the oxtail which was decent and couldn't finish the rice and plantains so I will try the lunch special mini next time. I will be back to try their other offerings: breakfast porridge, soups and sides.

I had the jerk chicken lunch, medium, for $10, which came with rice and peas (I got oxtail gravy on top) and 'vegetables' What I liked: the smoky taste of the jerk chicken was great, and it had a perfect amount of spice for me, enough to give it a good kick but not so much that it was going to make trouble on the way out. The rice and peas were solid. What I didn't like: I showed up at 11:30 am to beat the line, and the chicken already tasted like it had clearly been cooked a while back, it was on the dry side and the skin, which should have been crispy, was soggy. But with the volume that they do out of that cart, I guess you can't expect the chicken to be fresh of the grill. It was also not a lot of actual chicken, once it came off the bones. The 'vegetables' side dish is a mash of tasteless cabbage and whatnot. Overall for $10 lunch: Good jerk chicken, reasonably priced, though not fresh off the grill and portion on the small side; solid rice and peas; bland veggies.

While it is probably a mistake to write a review without trying the popular jerk chicken platter, it is just exciting to have another fun lunch option in the heart of midtown. Lines gets long fast, so if you hit the cart around 1pm, expect a 20 minute wait and the jerk chicken to be sold out! Although, it only takes about five minute to wait for your food after ordering. Most, if not everything, is already premade and stored in steel containers. Most platters (e.g. jerk chicken, curry chicken, goat stew) hover around $10, but on Red Snapper Fridays, a platter of Red Snapper over rice and vegetables will ring you up for $14! However, the menu offers mini lunch specials that come in a small styrofoam containers. Mini lunch specials are priced around the $7 range. While prices are a bit high for lunch, the portions are respectable. The food is very tasty and even the veggies pack quite a kick. My red snapper is fried with a hint of spice, and not as dry as it looked. The rice was soft and dry. I'd definitely go back for the mini lunch specials, which are already packed with rice and meat in the small container. Not to mention, it is a much better value.

This is bomb. Just try it. Busy? Yea maybe. Roll with it. Trust. Guy next to me got the curry shrimp small. Still good portion. Lots of shrimp. That's what I'll be getting next time

The food is tasty but the portions are very small for the price. The small is just not worth it for the price. Also for premade food it takes a very long time, it should only take a few minutes to leave for delivery. They have much room for improvement but I get the feeling they do not care. Poor customer service, no attention to detail and will not read special instructions...

Went to location twice (park Ave & 48th) but no truck there. Will change review once location or hours of operation updates. Reply received. They will reopen the first week of August of 2020! Thanks Jerk Pan for the swift reply. I hope it's as good as they say! I have been to this truck three times so far. Once I left because I wasn't able to take the pod smell. Not sure why people like to smoke pod there. So far I tried jerk chicken with jerk sauce and oxtail. Jerk chicken was little dry and you need to watch the bones. The sauce was too sweet for my taste. Oxtail had a very good flavor but wasn't too tender. The service was okay. Sometimes could be a bit slow.

This was the best oxtails and curry goat ever. This is a must try. Very delicious. The customer service was awesome and service was fast. Best food truck in town if your looking for some good home cooked Jamaican food.

I must admit I am skeptical about buying food from trucks. However, I have been looking for a Carribbean food spot in the city for a while now. Luckily, this is Jamaican which I love. Be forewarned, if you go this spot it gets packed by 1230 pm. You could be waiting up to an hour! I ordered the large oxtail and my co-worker got the curry goat. FYI, when they say large, they mean LARGE! We both were surprised at large portions and it wasn't all rice which a lot of Carribbean spots like to do. Also, they were not stingy with the gravy! Oxtail was well seasoned and tender. The curry goat also flavorful but not spicy so if you like spicy bring your favorite hot sauce. I'm definitely adding this as a lunch spot.

Jerk Pan is simply remarkable. Place is great. Curry Chicken was really fantastic, I have tried number of things here and Curry Chicken is my favorite by far. Service was quick and pleasant. Jerk Pan...What a fantastic find.

I've been craving for oxtail for months. I finally got my fix and didn't disappoint me. I walked nearly 40mins each way just for this but was totally worth it. Im here visiting. I'm hoping to go back at least one more time before I go back. I got there almost close to closing and no more macaroni.

This is truck on 48/Park Ave. The food here is authentic, I love their oxtail, k like that I can order via phone then pick it up at the truck. They do a decent Ackee & salt fish for breakfast with some festival. I tried their soups not a fan way too thick. Pls invest in non styrofoam containers.

The food is so good and the jerk chicken from here is elite! I've ordered from here a few times and it's always a good experience! 10/10 food and service!

Most importantly this place is consistently delicious. The meat is cooked perfectly for those who appreciate a nice charred flavor and the jerk sauce is very tasty. The rice with beans is a great addition and goes well with pieces of chicken that fall in while you eat. The portions are a nice surprise as well. I have a decent appetite and the "mini" at only $7 fills me up! My only minor gripe as seen in some of the other reviews is that there are a lot of bone pieces making it hard to get around and eat to some extent. I cannot eat this messy dish in front of co-workers.

After relocating to Midtown East from the Financial District, I was in need of finding a Caribbean food truck to fill the hole in my heart. Yelp quickly unveiled Jerk Pan to me and I was sold. What really sealed the deal? The line at noon on the dot. Yes, the line is long. No, it doesn't move extraordinarily fast. Yes, you'll probably do better with an hour lunch rather than a half hour if you want food from here. The truck doesn't really say too much. There is a small banner on the front with the name, while the rest of the truck seems pretty beat-up. There is no menu posted, just a few folded menus you can take and browse through while you wait. The staff is friendly and everyone knows what they want before they get up there (I suggest you do the same). For $8 you can get a medium-size Jerk chicken, stew chicken, curry goat, curry chicken, oxtail, etc. A large will run you another dollar. They also offer lunch "mini" sizes for $6.50 but if you want the rice and peas (yep, not beans here) and cabbage then go with a medium or large. The medium was FILLED with food. I watched them fill up my platter with a ton of chicken, a shitload of rice, and a nice serving of cabbage. 1) the food smells amazing and authentic (I grew up with Jamaicans and West Indians and this is what their kitchens always smelled like) and 2) it's delicious! The chicken is moist (although a bit on the bony side) and the rice is the way rice should be made. For another dollar, you can throw in a can of soda. They also offer hot sauce. Overall, this is a great food truck lunch option in the area. I tried the curry chicken this time around, however, I want to try their curry goat next.

Their food is sooooooo good! I had their oxtails, rice&peas, veggies and plantains. EVERYTHING on point, they gave me A LOT of oxtails and they were so tender and soft just as they're supposed to be! Flavorful, tasty, the lady serving the food was very nice and the man there was also very nice! Wish I had a picture of the food but please take my word for it because I do NOT play about my food and the cherry on top is, THEY'RE AFFORDABLE! Better than a lot of Caribbean restaurants out here that's for sure.

I think I've found the shrine to the deity of awesomeness. No, it's not the Jerk Pan, but I'm sure that same deity has bestowed plentiful favors upon this food truck that seems to run on bursts of flavor. The proudly flying Jamaican flag is perhaps the only way to identify this otherwise unassuming truck. The focus seems to be on the taste of the food (and rightly so) rather than the appearance of the truck. I get the jerk chicken without the sauce on top because I really enjoy the chicken just the way it is seasoned and cooked, unadulterated by additional sauce. The braised oxtail, the curry chicken (with potatoes and carrots) and the brown stewed chicken are all very tasty, and the meat is extremely tender and flavorful. I get the brown stewed chicken with plain white rice, rather than the rice and beans, because each of those (the brown stewed chicken and the rice and beans) are flavorful and tasty by themselves, and I don't want the flavor of one to eclipse the flavor of the other. Watch out for the tiny fragments of bone in the chicken dishes, and be ready to use your hands to eat! It's difficult to use the plastic utensils on these dishes because the tender meat and vegetables are so interspersed with fragments of bones. The patties are OK; not as good as everything else.

It was a day where I was having deep cravings for some delicious Jamaican food. A co-worker from another area walks by and mentions Jerk Pan.. Immediately I search it on google and find reviews galore along with pictures that made the entire office drool. We ended up ordering 70+ dollars of food lol (there were a lot of people. After having their food I can say it is the most consistent delicious food EVER ! If you want delicious home cooked Jamaican food get JERK PAN!

Tried the oxtail & rice while at park when they were parked @ 41st & Madison Ave. As a West Indian native the food was amazingly authentic and would buy consistently every time. Highly recommended.

The only reason it's a 4 and not a 5 is because I have to encourage room for improvement. This is my go to truck. The food is authentic. The service is great yet never rushed. The line can be long because it's popular but you can bypass that and order to pick up. There's a great menus of Jamaican Caribbean food and you can tailor your selections. I'm there often, correction very often. Do yourself a favor and have some. A great filling meal in midtown for less than $10 that's some kind of magic.

Don't judge a book by its cover. This can't be more true for the little truck that never won a beauty contest. I ordered the medium size oxtail with rice and beans. Taste buds = blown. The oxtail was well seasoned (but salty) and tender, with a few rough pieces. The sauce seeped into the rice and beans will give you a happy heart attack if you eat the entire portion. The boiled veggies (in beef stock?) was a nice side to balance out the heavy meat and carbs. The guys working the truck were really nice too!

Amazing Jamaican food cart. Jerk chicken is smokey, tasty, savory, excellent! Rice is above average. I usually get a side of plantains along with a beef patty (so good!). Price is affordable. The people that work here always treat me with respect. They get lots of customers from surrounding businesses so be prepared to wait a few minutes during rush hour. Haven't tried the oxtail yet. Thats next on my short list!

This is one of the best places that I had jerk chicken and oxtails wit rice n beans and it was great ...a lil wait time but worth it ...very tasty food and price is reasonable ...to be served on a truck ...be back again

craving jerk chicken or other carribean delights? this is your spot. how do you know if you've found this seemingly non-descript truck? just look for a long line. a small order is $7 but if you get the medium jerk chicken platter ($11) you get a side of cabbage or mac salad. decent portion. how do you know it's good? if you are still craving it for dinner that day!

My co-workers and I ordered lunch for the first and we are impressed. The delivery was fast which is unexpected during lunch hour in the city. We ordered oxtails, jerk chicken, and cowfoot soup. The food was well seasoned and extremely tasty. Also, I had great customer service while placing the order. We will definitely order from Jerk Pan again!!

After recommended by Hao, I came here again and again and again. And I advertised it to my colleague as well. Menu 1. OX Tail 2. Brown stew chicken +Cabbage and Rice with bean Normal size is good for most people in this planet never be better~
